Reverie Boys #2

Still It's You

Rate this book
For readers who love an emotional, character-driven contemporary romance with depth and grit. Still It’s You delivers high stakes, slow healing, and a whole lot of heart. If you’re drawn to stories that explore trauma, recovery, and resilience—with a strong, complex heroine at the centre and a love interest who shows up without trying to save her. This one’s for you.

Some things are worth rebuilding. Others are worth burning down.

Ellie is finally free from the man who dragged her down.

But freedom isn’t the end—it’s a harder kind of beginning. Legal battles, mounting debt, and the looming threat of losing her home leave her drowning in red tape and silence. She’s convinced she has to face it alone, terrified that letting someone in will look like failure. But real strength isn’t in holding it all together—it’s knowing when to let someone help carry the weight.

Kieran has been patient. Steady. All-in.

He stood by Ellie through the wreckage without asking for more than she could give. But now the band is on the edge of something big, and the pressure is brutal. Every lyric, every move, every relationship is under scrutiny. The spotlight burns brighter, the label wants more, and the cracks are beginning to show. With Ellie back home and Kieran chasing the dream, the distance between them grows—and not just in miles.

When new evidence of David’s financial betrayal surfaces, Ellie must decide what she’s really fighting the house that holds her past, the history she’s finally stopped apologising for, or the kind of love that stays—even when everything else falls apart.

A story about found family, quiet resilience, and choosing the life you even when it doesn’t come easy.

Samantha is a full-time NHS nurse, a proud Yorkshire lass, wife to her soulmate, and mum to a teenager who keeps her on her toes. She’s been a lifelong bookworm with a not-so-secret dream of writing a novel—though, by her own admission, she never quite believed she’d actually do it. And yet, here she is, doing the damn thing.

Romance is where her heart truly lives. Samantha writes slow-burn, emotional love stories layered with angst, warmth, and the kind of characters who feel like they could walk straight off the page and into your life. Her debut novel, Somehow Still You, is the first in the Reverie Boys series—a project that’s been nothing short of a labour of love. She’s poured her heart, soul, and probably a fair amount of Yorkshire tea into these characters.

Her greatest hope? That readers fall for them just as hard as she has. If you're up for a chat, a behind-the-scenes look at her writing life, or a solid bookish ramble, you’ll find her hanging out on Instagram at @samanthaannewrites. She’d absolutely love to say hi.

Sam has done it again with her second book, Still It's You. This book follows on from book one and is the conclusion to Ellie and Kieran’s epic love story.

What to expect:

More spice
Legal drama
Lingering trauma
Dual POV
HEA
Nurse x Rockstar

I really felt for Ellie in this book. Everything she was going through was absolutely rough, and Sam wrote this with such precision and care. Everything felt believable and real, making you truly feel for the characters. And throughout it all, there was Kieran, with his unwavering support and love. He is a walking green flag. The way he shows up for Ellie and her daughter is just wonderful.

My favourite parts of the book were actually Sam writing about Ellies job as a nurse. As Sam is a nurse herself, you could really tell in these moments she was pouring her personal experience onto the page. This book is definitely a labour of love, you can tell. It's just got so much heart. What I also loved about it is that it doesn't feel like it follows the traditional writing pattern that 90% of books have these days. You can also see how far Sam has come as a writer as I absolutely devoured this one.

I urge you to pick up this wonderful series and read this romance that's a little bit different, but it will have you tearing up and screaming at the pages.

This book picked up where the first one left off. But on a much deeper level. The emotions were more prevalent, and really had me tied up in them. Ellie went through so much. Legal battles, financial issues, the house. But Kieran was there for her every step of the way. He was such a strong support system for her, even if she got frustrated and pushed him away. He was her rock regardless.
This book pulled me in immediately and was so engrossed in this one. Way it was written made it easy to relate. It felt so real, like you were standing next to them, going through everything with them. I enjoyed this book immensely and am very thankful that I had the opportunity to be a part of the ARC team.❤️

This book is truly special.
I have annotated so many passages that really had me in my feels.
Ellie & Kieran are really such a special couple and the book is written with so much love for not just who they are but who the people around them are. This holds so much strength in its pages and there are some wonderful characters within that I can’t wait to hear more about in future books.

Wow. I was so lucky to be able to read an ARC of this book (and book 1) and I absolutely LOVED both books.

When I tell you that this duet has broken and re-healed my heart multiple times I really mean it. I don’t know what it is but there’s something about Ellie and Kieran that I connect with on a deeper level than most other book couples. They just seem so real. Nothing is rushed, or too soppy, or fake. They don’t have the instant “oh we love each other let’s get married” sort of insta love. It’s believable, it’s raw and it’s got its flaws just like every real relationship. I am sooo glad that Sam didn’t rush or force them together. And I’m also super glad that she focused on Ellie’s very real and very relatable struggles of motherhood. Nothing can prepare you for the mum guilt in any situation that’s taken out of your hands, but it feels so nice to have someone represent that in an honest, realistic way.

The way that Sam writes these characters grips me so hard and I never want it to let go! It’s evident that she has done her research into all aspects of the storylines, especially those involving abuse, manipulation, mental health etc.

I feel like Im really starting to know the Reverie boys as if they’re more than side characters. I’m hoping and praying that any of Sam’s future works will be focused on at least 1 of them (preferably Ryder iykyk).

I will forever recommend these books to anyone who’s looking for a slow burn, second chance, found family romance.

I don’t think I’ll be able to stop thinking about these books and characters. 💔

My favourite quotes:

“In reality? I've been giving him the spade while he dug the hole deeper.”

“And for once, I don't feel like I'm waiting for the rug to be pulled.
For once, I just let myself breathe.”

“Shoulders back, tits out, and don't let anyone dim that glow.”

“I'm just... here. Letting the love I chose choose me right back.”

I received this eARC from the author Samantha Anne, but have since bought physical copies of both books in the series.

This is the second instalment in The Reverie Boys Series, and it picks up right where Ellie and Kieran left off. The author doesn’t gloss over the lasting effects of abuse. Ellie doesn’t simply step into an happily-ever-after, instead she’s still fighting through the trauma. There were moments I found myself getting frustrated, wanting her to stop slipping back into the past, but recovery is messy and her journey did feel more authentic because of that.

Kieran’s love is the kind you dream about. He’s fiercely devoted to Ellie and shows up for her in every way she needs. Watching him be pushed away or misunderstood was hard, especially knowing how pure his intentions are, but it does make the connections between them feel that much more rewarding.

The setting has that cosy small‑town feel, yet it carries a bigger energy thanks to the boys’ journey with the band. I love how they continue to show up for one another. They don’t hide their feelings or fall into that stereotypical “macho” mould, instead, there’s a softness between them that feels incredibly endearing.

Although the banter between all the side characters is natural and easy, it did at times feel a little too sweet for me, especially without as much of Davids rougher edges to balance things out. Even so, their humour and warmth do bring something really special to the book.

Naomi is a great character and the kind of friend every woman deserves. She’s honest, with a little feisty edge and quick wit that makes her feel so real. I absolutely adore her, and I’d love to see even more of her in future books.

I also have to mention the spice. The scenes are 👌🏼 They don’t linger too long or appear so often that they overshadow the story. There’s definitely more spice in this book compared to the first, but it feels purposeful and fits the moments perfectly.

Overall, Still, it’s you is a heartwarming read that handles the topic of abuse with honesty, while still managing to lift you up. Will definitely be reading more from this author.

It’s rare that a book resonates so deeply as this one did. But Sam writes in a way that is so real and so raw that even in the midst of making me cry (or more accurately sob) I felt so comforted. Every emotion Ellie felt, from how helpless and angry she was, to how she grew to accept that she deserved every ounce of love Kieran had to offer, I was right there with her.

Which brings me onto Kieran, the most selfless man I’ve ever read in a book. Despite having such a busy schedule with being a literal rockstar, he always makes time for Ellie, and Mia. He never once puts her down or makes her feel stupid for how she feels or makes her feel like too much. Kieran is who anyone who’s been in Ellie’s position wishes they had in their corner. He brings out a strength in her she didn’t know she had, and shows her that receiving and accepting help isn’t weakness and that she doesn’t have to go it alone anymore.

I really appreciated that Mia, Ellie’s daughter, was shown to have big emotions. It helped ground me in the story and I found I understood her more and seeing how all of the chaos her and her mum had to go through was affecting her. Sometimes people forget the impact these situations can have on children but with this story that isn’t the case. And this story showed that keeping people in the dark, while it may seem like the right thing to do in order to protect them, can actually be more harmful. And Mia is much more intelligent than some would give her credit for. Her heart is so big and deep down she just wanted to help Ellie and it was so heartwarming seeing them getting along in the end.

The Reverie Boys Book 2
Hold onto your hats ladies and gents and everything in-between this book is about to take you on the wildest Ferris wheel ride you have ever been on.

Following seamlessly on from the events of book one Ellie is just trying to take it day by day trying to go through the motions of the aftermath of David, she has convinced herself that doing this alone is her only option regardless of what anyone says, but after being patient Kieran is there ready to bolster and support Ellie, even whilst things with the band is starting to pick up and get much bigger.

The emotions run thick and fast in this book and I was lapping it up, I was ready to go to war for our Ellie, she is such a brave and strong independent woman who deserves everything good in life, she is defiantly someone who I would want to be friends with, and Kieran, man he has it bad for Ellie and he is everything that she deserves and more!

I loved seeing the whole gang again, and how supportive they are towards Ellie and Kieran, I cannot wait to see what comes next from the Midnight Reverie Boys!

The entire story between Ellie and Kieran may have been a long one and the journey may have had its ups and downs but they were clearly always meant to be, I felt like Samantha really brings you into this world.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking to be healed, for fans of Rockstar Romances, Second Chances, Found Family and some very delicious Spicy goodness.

3.5 stars.

Thank you for the Arc read Samantha Anne.

Still It’s You is a realistic, messy love story where Ellie and Kieran finally get their happy ending though not without a few more bumps along the way.

This book continues to explore the fallout from Ellie leaving her abusive ex in the first book. That trauma doesn’t magically disappear and it still affects her life and her relationship with Kieran. Watching Ellie work through each issue and slowly find her way back to herself felt authentic and earned, especially with Kieran supporting her every step of the way. Their happy ending truly felt deserved. This isn’t your typical romance. It’s more mature and grounded, dealing with real life consequences and emotional baggage. While there are sad moments, it didn’t quite hit me emotionally in the way I expected. The writing is strong, with a clear insight into the characters’ thoughts and motivations. The spice felt natural rather than thrown in for the sake of it. I also really enjoyed the banter and the found-family dynamic between Ellie and the rest of the band.

That said, there was something missing for me (something I can’t quite put my finger on) which meant I wasn’t constantly itching to read the next chapter.

Overall, this is a solid read and one I’d recommend to romance readers looking for a slightly older couple (not collage aged) and a story that reflects the realities of life and healing.

Kieran and Ellie

Tropes:
* Found family
* Trauma
* Divorce
* Second chance
* Rockstar romance
* Nurse romance
* Single parent
* Slow burn

“You ever hear a song, and it’s got like, all the notes in it? Not just the main ones, but… the hidden ones underneath?” My voice cracks halfway through, and I burst out laughing at myself. “That’s her. She’s all the bloody notes.”

Having read the first part of Kieran and Ellie’s stroy, I was eagerly awaiting this story so I could get their conclusion!

Be warned, some triggers in this, so if coercion, emotional abuse, financial abuse, gaslighting, mental health and legal troubles don’t bother you, then proceed.

Ellie and Naomi were true ride-or-die’s, and the band was such a great little family.
But Brenda, and Brian... they have my heart. Such kind souls and a sweetheart, opening their doors (and hearts) to Ellie and Mia in their time of need.

I like the fact that there was focus on Ellie’s job too. Too many stories focus on the MMC’s career, and disregard hers, but I felt in a way, that more focus went to Ellie… It was refreshing.

I loved everything about this.

I couldn’t wait to dive back into Ellie’s and Kieran’s story and boy it didn’t disappoint at all. This book gave me all of the feels and so much more.

This one pretty much picks up straight away from book one. And you fall more in love with the characters in this one. My heart still broke for Ellie, she had so much she carried on her shoulders and was so closed off to let people help her, I felt so much hurt and heartbreak for her character growth was fantastic as she started to find herself again.

As for Kieran oh my he was everything in an MMC you wanted; sweet, romantic and loyal not matter how much Ellie pushed him away, he never up and that was so sweet to read. Absolutely adored all of the other side characters. The found family element was such a cute element to add.

The story itself amazing, wrote perfectly. Had so much emotion and passion, that it all came together beautifully, the story had growth, friendship, creating your own family, finding your self again and finally healing and all of those elements were all wrote great.

Sad that Ellie and Kieran story is over but looking forward to see if the other boys of the band get a love story too.

Ellie and Kieran's story is over, and I'm not quite ready for it to be. I love these two. Their story is messy, real, and brutally honest.

Ellie is recovering from the trauma she's carried from her relationship with her ex (I have some choice words for David that I would probably get in trouble for using here) and we see a lot of that in this book. Kieran is the greenest green flag. He feels deeply, especially when it comes to Ellie.

I was absolutely devastated and broken so many times during this duet, but it always picked up the shattered pieces of my heart and put them back together.

I'm not only obsessed with Ellie and Kieran, but also their chosen family–the other guys and Naomi. The crew really feels like a family. They have each other's backs no matter what and at the end of the day, they all know they have the other's to pick them up if they need it. Plus, every time they were all together, they had me genuinely laughing out loud.

I'm devastated to be leaving Ellie and Kieran behind, but I can't wait to see what comes next.

The Boys of Reverie book 2 is such an emotional, captivating experience. I read these two back to back and I feel like that really helped me feel like I was part of their story! For the conclusion of Kieran and Ellie’s story, book two picks up seamlessly and delivers an even deeper emotional punch. The love story felt incredibly believable and tender, with each character’s personal struggles woven beautifully into the relationship. The writing is thoughtful and unhurried, allowing the emotions, growth, and connections to feel real and earned. A heartfelt story of love, healing, and finding strength together.

This is a continuation of book one and must be read in order for the full experience of their story! The dust as a whole is 5 ⭐️ for me but each individual I have 4⭐️.

Book 2 of the series and it picks right up where Ellie and Kieran’s story left off and this time the emotions hit even deeper. As their relationship continues we see them navigating love, distance, ambition and the pressures of overcoming trauma from a previous toxic relationship. The story balances romance with real life challenges which made it feel both painful and heartfelt.
Samantha writes with such care and attention, nothing feels rushed, just very powerful and real.
One of the strongest parts of this book for me is the cast of characters. Every one of them brings something meaningful to the story. I absolutely love the band mates banter, it’s still there, still fun but with a more serious edge now that they’ve hit the big time. Naomi is such a standout as a loyal and supportive friend, usually blunt but so hilarious. “Shoulders back, tits out and don’t let anyone dim that shine”, the best friend we’d all love in our corner!
Then theres Brian, still my favourite, quiet, calm, mostly in the background but when he shows up, it’s always with steady support and kind words. Love him!
This is a story full of heartache, tough moments and emotional growth but packed with beautiful tender scenes, one in particular, set on the beach, was just breathtaking.

Thank you so much to the author for the ARC 💖

I absolutely loved this book and now I’m gonna go back and reread book 1 again. I loved Elle and Kieran’s story, I loved how Kieran was there for Elle and he supported her when she needed it. This book is made me laugh, cry,and made me mad, this book is an emotional roller coaster and i loved every second of this book. I loved Kieran’s dad Brian and i loved the friendship between Elle and Naomi. I couldn’t get enough of this book and i loved when books pull you in from the beginning and this book did and I’m so grateful I received this as an ARC. I hope Naomi gets the next book 🤞🏼. Such a great duet along with Somehow Still You. Love the friendships between the band members Kieran/Luca/Ryder/Theo!! Also love the friendship between Ellie & Naomi!! One of my favorite characters was Brian Hayes (Kieran’s dad). He was so kind to welcome Ellie and Mia into his home when they had nowhere to go. Another favorite besides the main 6 characters was Brenda. She was there for Ellie & Mia when even her family wasn’t. Family is not always strictly blood. Sometimes friends become more like family! Would love to see more of these characters in the future!!

I was lucky enough to be a Beta reader & ARC reader for this book & it did not disappoint at all. Kieran & Ellie's story is a rollercoaster & I absolutely lapped it all up. I love the way the band are more like brothers than band mates & their banter truly cracks me up. Beautiful story & I highly encourage anyone to go read this & the first book if you haven't already 🥰

If you’re looking for a contemporary romance that feels real, raw and heady with passion, this is for you. It’s incredibly refreshing to read a romance that doesn’t treat a relationship like pure looking through rose tinted glasses and doesn’t overly romanticise it like it’s a fairytale, where everyone lives happily ever after. This feels real and honest, and shows the very realistic ups and downs of two flawed individuals, striving to love each other. I loved seeing how Ellie and Kierans relationship grows, and they’re a couple who you just can’t help rooting for. Ellie is such a caring, giving person, and Kieran is the greenest of green flags, and they’re perfect for each other - its messy, complicated and not easy, but that’s what makes their story so beautiful, is that it’s imperfect.

If you love found family as i do, this will really appeal to you - its pulled together so well in this book, and they’re perfect other characters are all so likeable, and the dynamics of all their relationships really makes this a standout read.

You can tell the author has really poured her heart and soul into this book, as there is such great care taken with the characters and their story.

this was an absolute joy to read. I loved book 1 and was excited and eager to see how we would get the HEA.

AND IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.

Strong messages, lots of triggers but the growth of both main characters was beautiful to read. I felt like they were my friends!

it is very very spicy BUT even if you skip the spice, the plot stands for itself.

So excited to see whats next!

Maybe it was from having a connection to the characters, but I enjoyed this one more than the first. I still felt like it was more of a journal than the drama you usually find in romance. But I also found myself relating to Ellie and the struggle of letting the walls down. And I love that she found someone patient enough to wait for her to bring her walls down.
I can’t wait for Naomi’s story.

If I thought the first book wrecked me the second Still It’s You annihilated me and put me back together. The angst of these characters bleeds off the pages and seep into you . It gave me all the feels you could ask for in a book. I love Kieran he’s the kind of man that you want for your daughter and / or yourself. All the characters are well developed and people you want to be your tribe. I laughed at the guys and cried with all of them.

This is an emotional roller coaster and I loved each hill and valley and twist and turn. Wine and Kleenex mandatory ! I can’t wait to find out who is next on this emotional ride and I’m ready.

Thank you, Sam, for letting me read an ARC copy of Still It's You. I adored Ellie and Kieran so much. You completely wrecked me in the best way and my heart shattered for Ellie at times. The way this duet ended was absolutely perfect, and I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Reverie Boys.

If you love found family & banter, coastal small-town vibes, and soft but fierce love, please give this duet a chance you won’t regret it.

Still it’s you is a beautiful and heartbreaking story about starting over and learning to trust your heart again.

Ellie has had a tough couple of years. Her ex-fiancé, David, turned out to be a completely different person than she thought he was. Starting over alone, again, became much harder than she ever anticipated as David’s secrets come to light one after another. Still, Ellie keeps fighting, supported by Kieran, who is patient, steady, and so incredibly caring.

I loved reading about Ellie and Kieran’s love story, and I especially loved how this second book in the duet ties their journey together so perfectly.

The supporting characters are wonderful. I really enjoyed the banter between the band members and Naomi always being there for Ellie. But the standout side character in this book has to be Kieran’s dad, Brian, I absolutely adore him! 😍

Thank you to Samantha for letting me read this book early. I’m very much looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

This book was truly amazing. I had the pleasure of reading it early as I was given ARC access and wow it did not disapoint. After reading the second and conclusion to Ellie & Kieran's duet I can say this was my favourite. This second installement includes higher stakes, found family and topics relating to self worth and finding yourself again. This book was truly emotional and took me on such a journey of laughter, almost crying, rage and rooting for the found family. Ellie's journey has always been difficult these past few years and I feel she almost reaches breaking point, but Mr Rockstar never fails! I cannot wait to read more of the reverie boys and the antics they get up to, I NEED NAIOMI AND HER STORY NEXT!

I cannot even comphrehend words of how much I love this book absolute chefs kiss!!

If you love emotional reads then this is the one for you. Ellie and Kieran’s story is so beautiful, and it was wrapped up perfectly in this book. I had cried I think 3x by the time I was 40% into the book.

The emotions this story had me feeling were raw! One minute I was happy, next I was angry, then I was crying my eyes out!!

Ellie is one strong woman and I absolutely love her so much! All i’ll say regarding Kieran is …. We all need him. Everyone needs a Kieran in their life! He’s just so patient and caring. Melts my heart so much!

I was so sad to see their journey come to an end but I loved reading every single part of it.
