Storm lived her life unapologetically in the fast lanes. From race tracks to careless bets, nothing could slow her down. Until one wrong decision had her gambling with her life.
For Dodge, rising to the top came easy. Being the king of the tracks quickly gave him everything he wanted and more. Cockiness, arrogance, and a little bit of negligence cost him everything. Disappearing into the shadows was the only thing Dodge could do after one fatal race humbled him. Learning to live in silence had become the norm for him, until one encounter with Storm brought him back into the spotlight.
Diamond Cove was often a quiet place, but secrets from their past, and skeletons hid in closets can turn a small city loud quick. With a wager on the line, will Storm and Dodge come out victorious, or will their last race be the end?

Definitely would recommend this short story if you’re not a racing fan you will be afterwards and the fast pace of the story is great totally worth the read
This book was good from beginning to end. It brought the laughs, drama, and plenty of spice. That doggone Storm matched her name to the T. She gave it to Dodge just as good as he gave it to her. They indeed had matching smart mouths, lol. Dodge was such a grumpy man due to him dealing with his grief, but I love a grumpy MMC. When he thought Storm was a lesbian it had me tickled. He just knew that he had the right assumptions about her, but she proved him wrong. Once these two finally connected, it was on and popping. He stamped his name on it and wasn't letting up. Latoya Nicole never misses, so I knew this one would hit the mark.
Let me tell you something, I love a grumpy MMC, and Dodge? Oh, he was grumpy-grumping for real. That man did NOT care who got offended; it was his way, his rules, his world. Period. And then here comes Storm, this perfect little burst of sunshine wrapped in sass, mouth slick as oil, and a “don’t play with me” attitude to match. The dynamic?? Chef’s kiss.
And with racing as the backdrop? Oh, it was giving FAST & FURIOUS meets slow-burn chaos. Unconventional, unexpected, and absolutely addicting. Watching them go from clashing to low-key catching feelings… yeah, I was locked in.
Not Dodge out here thinking Storm was a whole lesbian and that’s why he wasn’t going to shoot his shot, and Storm thinking this man only wanted to be her little racing buddy?! Chile… communication was nowhere to be found. 😂
BUT BAYBEEEE, when he finally made his move? That first hook-up scene had me clutching my imaginary pearls because when Dodge said, “If it’s mine, it’s gon’ be mine....ain’t no after me,” I fell straight OUT. Yes KING, preach! Talk heavy!!
This book was fun, fast, spicy, and everything I expect when Latoya Nicole drops something. My girl does NOT miss. I had an absolute blast with this one. 🔥🏁💋
I'm so invested in The Hellcat Barbies series. I'm reading all of the books and nothing can stop me - not even a "new to me" author. I've never read a book from Latoya Nicole, but she definitely impressed me with her contribution to the series, The Hellcat Barbies: Storm. The book is well written and engaging with fully developed characters, despite its short length. I enjoyed learning about the FMC Storm and her background, the MMC Dodge's relationship to racing (and the death of his brother) gave the story some added depth beyond just character development, banter between the FMC and MMC was great (except for the "lil stud" remarks, which were not only off putting but unnecessary), and the ending was different. I could easily have read another 100 pages about this couple.
Final rating: 4.25/5
Spice rating: 2/5

I’m gonna need this to be a series please. An all female car club…yeah I’m here for it. Let us not bypass the toxic 🥷 The storyline was so good there are other stories to be told. Yeah, make this a series please and thank you
I loved this quick read. I couldn't put it down needing to know what was about to happen. The quips, jokes, insults and sarcasm had me laughing throughout. But there was some depth to these characters and the plot. Great read!
This was a quick, dope read. Another Hellcat Barbie enters the chat, but Dodge? Yeah… he ran the whole show. Dodge is a true eaterrrr 💦, and he carried that silent BDE—moving like a Hellcat engine purring low, smooth and dangerous without even trying.
Storm lived up to her name. Sis slid into Dodge’s life with a clean drift, all gas, no brakes, like she already knew his lane was hers. Tomboy vibe but still serving effortless sexy had her standing out instantly. And the way the author showed Dodge losing his love for driving behind grief? That felt real.
My only want? More moments of Storm outside the quick conversations with the Barbies. Sis had the potential to spin the block and give us even more.
But overall, this story had motion, torque, and definitely had love in the fast lane—a fast, fun read with real street heat behind it.
Storm had to leave Chicago and came to Diamond Cove. She ran into Dodge time she got there. He was the best mechanic and street race driver. She had a smart mouth and they somehow connected. He didn’t just leave her out there stranded. He taught her how to really drive those cars, and they ended up beating Teelo together. She also joined the HC Barbies! Her uncle came to let her know she can go back home, but the Cove was her home with her man. I think it was so funny that uncle Pooh called her son and Dodge thought she was a stud lol. Great read.
Storm thought that she knew everything about winning races until she got to Diamond Cove. In this short, well written story, we were introduced to Storm and Dodge. Storm left Chicago after she won a race that killed the man that she was racing against. She ended up in a small city because her car broke down. She ended up meeting Dodge, who was quiet, mean and going through his own problems. They ended up together and she found out that she didn’t know as much about racing as she thought. Absolutely loved it.
One thing about á Latoya Nicole book is she’s going to have you laughing and the back n forth between Storm && Dodge had me laughing. I enjoyed this book on how the Hellcat Barbies befriended Storm but Dodge took her in and taught her how to be a better driver. Teelo wanted to blame Storm for his brother being unalived while they were racing it it was his own fault and it’s a good thing that Storm had a dash cam. I can’t wait to see who’s up next.
Dodge brought all the BDE in this story!!! Mean and toxic but a provider, protector, and counsel!! I loved how Storm lived up to her name in a sense and never let Dodge intimidate her into backing down, but allowed her to be herself and submit how she knows to. It was a cute love story!! OMG!!! Uncle Pooh walking in would have given me a heart attack, I laughed so hard when reading that scene!! Five Stars Ms. Nicole!!!🥰
Figures, just when I’d announced the final installment of “The Hellcat Barbies” standalone series….Nope, there’s a Storm on the horizon 🤷🏾♀️🤭‼️was a uniquely convoluted reading experience 🤔. Nevertheless, “The Hellcat Barbies: Storm” was a storyline of PTS and art of Ride & Die personified. Storm and Dodge aka scared & grumpy just bridged the adrenaline gap & discovered their passion for muscle cars, racing & a rapid romance 🥰. A match made in street racing heaven‼️
Storm was a sassy little firecracker and Dodge was a mean ass lol. Who knew that these two crossing paths was fate. She was exactly what he needed and as rough as it started the ending was smooth sailing. I thought he was gone kill her ass at one point lol. She was a bit irri now that I think about it but idc I love her.
I think this might be my first read from the author but I like her style. This was an amazing quick read that packed a lot. Great work 👏🏾
Now I'm use to this author having crazy mofos, jokes, and wildin out which are the best books...but this was such a cute crazy book I loved it. The way Storm and Dodge had me crackling all throughout this book she be studied. Now see this is how you write a novel.
Storm had to dip quick from home and luck was on her side when her first love needed some attention and she happened into the shop of the meanest mechanic ever. Dodge doesn't play about his business nor his woman and Storm's mess was just what he needed to get back to living life in the fast lane. Storm and Dodge parallel driving the lanes is hot AF.
Closing yourself off to life after a traumatic event or closing your heart so you will not receive consistency or support from others. Will have you living a circle of self forgiveness or forgiving yourself.
Removing yourself from your comfort zone into a new place starting from scratch will help you get through the next chapter of life.
This book was hilarious , it was a real page turner too and it ended wonderfully but I still wanted more. I loved the development in the book and the way things unfold for them. I wouldn’t say it was predictable but it’s definitely one of those cute HEAs that we all love to read.
The banter between the MMC & FMC is funny & hot. The sad storylines from each is real life situations. There seems to be more of a background of the MMC. The last part opened up a mystery windows that had me wondering, who was or is he?
I loved Storm energy. Her mouth was slicker than a snickers. Dodge my man. He had me in stitches with that assumption. The finish line cross was epic, and chefs kiss.
This was my first read of the Hellcat Barbies series and I’ll probably check out the others. It was a quick palette cleanser with a mean mmc who softened quickly for the pretty tomboy fmc.
I love a book where two people come together and don’t realize they need each other !! Dodge wasn’t living anymore due to tragedy and his lil stud was running to save her life 😮💨😮💨
This was so good! It had so much excitement. It was almost like a fast and furious but with a twist. I definitely will be reading the rest of the Hellcat Barbies novels!
Quick good read I didn’t think all that transpired would lead to an amazing love story I loved Strom although she was a little a lot hard headed lol but she got Dodge to come out of retirement that’s all that really matters was them finding and healing each other
Dodge was so mean until he met the girl for him, Storm!!! She wasn't going let him keep snapping on her!! They both were attracted to each other from the jump, and in the end, it worked out!!!!
This was a different kind of love story. I loved it ! Storm and Dodge had the right kind of chemistry. This proves you can’t judge a book by its cover. Storm was just what Dodge needed in his life.
This story was short but soo cute. I loved the FMC and the MMC. I also loved that Dodge and Storm were a little off kilter in the beginning but found their balance. Dodge is the sexy, aggressive kind of toxic not the "beat your ass" type of toxic.
I absolutely loveeeed this Barbie. Her interactions with her boo was hilarious! Latoya you didn’t dis-point. I wish there was more to their story. Great storytelling. You kept me interested until the end and left me wanting more.
