I've been making up stories since I was five years old, and now I'm thrilled to be able to do it as a full-time job. I have an obsession with dark fantasy, dystopian futures, and Pride and Prejudice-style love stories full of witty banter and sizzling, unspoken feelings. When I'm not writing, I'm creating digital art, reading funny blogs, or watching my favorite shows (which include TVD and BSG). I live with my geeky husband and our two bad cats in Atlanta, GA.

Aemi has been captured by the Dron to be used to bargain with Nautilus. She is desperate to find her friends as they are in peril and some may be dying. When Aemi, Nol and the rest of the Dron arrive at a Dron city, Aemi realises that she cannot escape and has to negotiate with the Dron and convince them that they can work with Itlantis to defeat Nautilus. Are Aemi and Nol able to put their different beliefs aside and work together?

For Wreak and Remnant is a very enjoyable sequel, which was fast paced and I couldn’t put down. The action is toned down in this book but we get a few more answers.

Aemi thinks things through more than she did in the first book, but is still a trustworthy and kind person. I liked than Nol was more in this book, although I would have liked it better without him and Aemi arguing most of the time. There are a lot of characters in this book and I felt some of the favourites from previous books were not in the book enough, especially Lyssia.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the Secrets of Itlantis series. I would recommend For Wreck and Remnant to fans of Kate Avery Ellison books.

In For Wreck and Remnant we finally got a few answers to some things in the Secrets of Itlantis series. The many different story threads are beginning to tie together, which was something I was feeling not so crazy about for a while. There seemed to be too many, some without any real purpose. I'm glad it's all finally beginning to make sense. Normally four books into a series would be way too long for this to happen, but these are not long books. These four are more like the length of two YA books from a big publishing house. I am really enjoying these quick reads, almost as much as I enjoyed The Frost Chronicles and I think Kate Ellison is a talented writer.

Can enemies become friends? Aemi has to work hard, quick and be 5 steps ahead of everyone in this novel. There are so many sides. So many secrets. I would not want to be in her shoes! Deciding whom to trust, whom to care for...and most important: who wants her dead. This book had me questioning each character, their motives and true allegiances. I thought I knew and still have theories but I honestly am not sure and I love who the author can keep me wondering! I like Tallyn as one of my favorites but this time he earned some early question marks that continued to grow. What is Valus's game? How much does Aemi's family really care? I loved how the cities are described in this! Beautiful. It is strange to to think a full underwater civilization like that but Kate Avery Ellison does a pretty good job to make that happen.

MY THOUGHTS
I love this series so much! For most of the series so far, I've only been giving them 4 stars, but now I really need to go back and change all of them to 5 stars!

Aemi is currently captured by the Dron. The Dron see her as an enemy, a wealthy Itantean, and see her as the way to bargain for their lives. Aemi tries to plead with them that there is no bargaining with Nautilus, who has been slaughtering both Dron and Itanteans, and that Itanteans are no longer their enemy. All to no avail. Aemi has to figure out how to escape the Dron along with trying to find peace between their people and a way to take down Nautilus. But even with all of this, more secrets about her family will come into light.

A favorite part about this series is how vivid the world is! The world-building in this series is extraordinary and with each book I get more and more insight into this world! Really, there is the unique underwater world that I get more info about with every book and now we get more info about the Dron and their histories. The entire world within this series is so complex!

I must mention the romance. There isn't a whole lot of romance in this book, but I fully ship Aemi and Nol. I understand why they *cough*Aemi*cough* are hesitant on being together, but I honestly really want them to be together!

IN CONCLUSION
This is an amazing series and this installment is just as good as the rest! In fact, the books keep getting better and better! I am most definitely looking forward to the next book and Kate Avery Ellison is certainly an author I'm now on the lookout for!

Something is missing

There's one more book left. I should be dying to read it but I'm not. I think this series should have been made into 3 longer books instead of 5 short books. You just can't keep the momentum going.

Rushed Through It

Here I am at book 4 of 5 and its getting old. I'm glad I found this series completed because I would not have made it this far without my constant chapter skipping.

So everyone has secrets or has betrayed Aemie somehow. She struggles because she doe's know who to trust. Family, friend or strangers? Story is almost done!

There are way too many attacks haha, and the plot line takes FOREVER to get anywhere. The first book was awesome but I am starting to loose interest now.

For Wreck and Remnant is the fourth instalment in the Secrets of Itlantis series by Kate Avery Ellison and marks another exciting and highly enjoyable tale that goes to prove that this series just keeps getting better with every new chapter!

Picking up not far after the last book in the series left off, For Wreck and Remnant sees our herione Aemi once again a prisoner of the Dron. Cut off from her people and with Itlantis still reeling from it's latest attack by Nautilus's army, Aemi is unsure of what is in store for her, but knows she needs to find a way back to her family and friends. Hoping to convince the Dron to partner with the Itlantean's to take down their shared enemy of Nautilus, Aemi must make some tough decisions, and as it becomes clearer than ever that not everyone can be trusted, Aemi's only hope is if she can convince people who have nothing but hate for Itlantis to help save it.

Wow! Kate Avery Ellison never fails to captivate me with this series. Wonderfully written, Secrets of Itlantis is just a good solid read. Each instalment is exciting, action packed and addictive. The stakes continue to get higher and higher and Ellison manages to add a new layer of complexity to the storyline with every book. I can't fault the way Kate Avery Ellison paces, explores and develops this series and love the way different aspects of Aemi's life, Itlantis, Dron and above the sea worlds have all come together.

Aemi remains a strong and worthy heroine and continues to walk a dangerous line between political unease, threats on her life and outside war between different races of people. Lives are on the line and unbelievably, it all seems to sit on Aemi's shoulders, something the surprisingly strong young woman manages to handle well with her heart, emotions and capabilities all repeatedly put to the test!

I love all the characters we've met throughout the series for one reason or another and have loved seeing them compliment the storyline. Each minor character Aemi interacts with has a purpose and role to play and Kate Avery Ellison has them play it wonderfully. Namely there are a few standouts for me (*cough* Nol *cough*) but that doesn't mean each individual doesn't bring something wonderful to the series because they do. I'll be sad to see them all go after the final book.

With the danger Nautilus poses to the Itlanteans and the Dron stronger than ever, Aemi and her friends are preparing for the final battle and sees enemies become allies in an effort to stop the biggest threat to them all. Kate Avery Ellison has woven together a complicated history where Aemi is concerned throughout the series, and with revelations made with each novel Ellison appears to be prepared to reveal all and I for one can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve in the final novel, In Dawn and Darkness. I just know it's going to be epic!

So I was debating between a 5 star review and a 4 star review, but then I decided I was feeling generous after I just spent part of a day curled up with my computer and my cat and a headache just to read this book.

Yes, this serious is amazing. I love Kate Ellison's Frost chronicles and this series. The love star is an interesting addition to the book(I have no other idea of what to call something where there are multiple possible love interests, all of which are uniquely flawed and interesting in the fact that they have all somehow betrayed the main character).

I love the relationships the character holds with the other characters, and I love the growth in all the characters. They have all changed so much from the first book.

I could go on and on about the things I liked in this book. Its not perfect, and there are a ton of different evil (or not so evil) organizations to keep track of, but at the same time life can be as twisted as this story. I was tempted to take away a star, as I mentioned at the beginning, and some scenes really confused me I was so confused during that scene, and no matter how many times I reread it, I couldn't make sense of it.

This fourth book follows Aemi as she attempts to flee the Dron, discover the past about her father, and ultimately try to work to find peace between the Itanteans and Dron.

This one was a lot of fun. Aemi really went all over the place from the Dron to Primus to Verdus and beyond. It was great seeing her trying to figure out who she could trust in her life and who was trying to kill her.

I don't really have anything bad to say except some of the situations seemed a bit too convenient and forced to keep the story moving. But I'm reading this for enjoyment, not for realism.

Overall a great continuation of the series. This review was originally posted on MichaelSciFan
