"If you like women sleuths and cozy mysteries with recipes included, you will love this book and series!"
"Garden Girl" Gloria Rutherford, has her hands full. Her mischievous and energetic grandsons are coming for a weekend visit. To top things off, she discovers someone is living in her barn. But who and why?
As this amateur sleuth investigates what's going on in her own backyard, another murder victim turns up in their sleepy little town.
Hot on the trail of a murderer, trying her best to make sure her grandkids don't end up in the ER and facing a budding romance, Gloria and her small town of Belhaven are once again about to be turned upside down.
Such a cute story. The main character Gloria gas had one successful crime solved and is pleasantly surprised when another situation falls into her lap. In this second book you get to spend time with Gloria and her grand children and her new and old friends. Things are looking up for Gloria in many ways. Plus there is a murder to solve. Great fun.
A quick and easy read. :) I like the MC, Gloria. And, being the second in the series, she's really liking the amateur sleuthing. ;) :) The story was a partial continuation from the first book, so I don't think it could be read as a stand alone. An interesting story and I never guessed the killer. I will continue reading this series. :)
I can hardly wait for the next crime the Garden Girls get involved in. Those boys are a lark. Love them all, Andrea too. She is going to be a constant, I hope.
I finished my August Serial reading assignment, but I have one more book in this stack to finish! I can't seem to get enough of Hope Callaghan lately. She is great!
In this book, Gloria Rutherford is watching her Grandsons, Tyler 10 years old and Ryan 8 years old. They are always in trouble! Even when they are at Grandma's house. She has to watch them 24/7 so she decides to take them with her and her friend Andrea to look at a house Andrea is interested in buying. Well, while they are there, Andrea finds a dead body in the shed!
True to form, Gloria has to put on her Detective hat and start looking for clues to help her new beau Pete Kennedy, the cop solve the crime. Only this time, Gloria gets her and Andrea in a heap of trouble.
it's a good thing Pete uses his brain and starts to figure out just the way Gloria thinks or it would be curtains for both ladies.
Well worth the time to read and enjoy. I am ready for the next one.
This is another great Garden Girls Christian Cozy mystery. I love how Gloria works to solve the latest mystery aided by her friends. Maybe we see a little romance brewing. Look forward to the next book in the series.
This is the kind of book that keeps you at the edge of your seat. Where work and shopping are forgotten. The scene with the two small boys, and the dog against the Press was hilarious.
Strange things are happening in Gloria's barn. Not wanting anything to happen to her inquisitive grandkids who are visiting her, Gloria sets out to solve the mystery.
I love that this author is using older women as her protagonists. Gloria makes me laugh at the situations she finds herself in. And having her new beau as an officer of the law is priceless.
Some of the characters from the first book is back in this one. Gloria's young friend Andrea has found the perfect house which happens to be very run down. Gloria tries to talk her young friend out of buying. While inspecting the house, the two women find a body in the tool shed. Of course, Gloria has to start investigating into the death which leads her into more trouble.
Fabulous story line, real characters, real life choices, clean stories, it all makes this series really stand out. I love all of Hope Callahan’s books! When reading you get so involved with the characters you find yourself immersed in the story becoming one of the gang. I highly recommend ALL of Hope’s books for good clean reading, and there is always a yummy recipe included to try. I give it 5 stars!
I really enjoyed this 2nd book in this cozy mystery. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 4.7* rating. This was just as funny as the first book, if not more. Mom needs a break and grandma agrees to watch he sweet grandkids. But she could use a little help with them. This was even more fast pace once the grandkids were dropped off for the weekend. Lots to enjoy in this who done it, including a date for grandma.
I honestly couldn’t put this book down. I loved that Gloria was gonna start dating Paul and that she now had another furry four-legged to keep her company when she wasn’t with Paul. The showdown was super exciting and it was awesome what Gloria did to the perp. Then the title of the book rang completely true after the case was solved. Who knew two little boys could be so effective getting rid of some unwanted people? That scene was absolutely hilarious! On to the next book soon!
Another fabulously written mystery full of nasty villens and a charming cast of mature loving female heroins aiming to keep thier small town safe. Hope Callaghan keeps giving us readers the best of cozey murder mysterys and I for one for one can't wait for each and every series. Time for you to find the same joy in reading. 🤔🙄😊 Kat
This cozy mystery was a very good read , I like all six main characters in the story . This is my second book in this series from this author. I can't wait to read book 3 since I already have book 4 😊 . I recommend this series to all even thought all know about Hope Callaghan. Thanks for reading
Hope does a great job in showing that it's OK to be a fisty grandmother. Ms Callaghan puts you in the shoes of Gloria and her friend Lucy making you feel it's Okey to do a bit of sleuthing and get a date in the process. Makes you want to be in Gloria's place.it would be so much fun. Great job. Cheers Lynn🇨🇦
Book 2 in the Garden Girls cozy mystery series, and I loved it even more than book-1! The MC and supporting characters are great. Fun reads and enjoyable plots. I am anxious to read the next book in the series-Smoky Mountain Mystery.
I highly recommend this series for fans of cozy mysteries. :D
Another great story. Except for the very undisciplined boys. Never a dull moment with them. Always things happening for Gloria to check out. I love how she gets flustered around her beau.
Hope 's books are the absolute BEST ... An amazing CLEAN read that you can't put down ... I can't wait to see what Gloria and there Garden Girls get into on book 3.. Have a blessed day every one
I like the fact that these characters are the same age as I am and still very active. I like the verses and how they work into the story line. I can relate to them.
The second in the Garden Girls series. Just as great as the first! Well written plot! Unexpected twists. Great characters. Suspense. Action. Humor. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
Book 2 in the garden series cosy mysteries and doesn't disappoint. Gloria has her grandkids over for a brief stay, her good friend Andrea is keen to buy an old rundown mansion to restore it and amidst all that is an intruder in her barn, a dead body, a bit of sleuthing and a cute cop. Fun read
grandkids Gone Wild: Garden Girls Cozy Mystery Book 2
I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I want to. This is a very good read. It’s smart and sassy. Just right for a relaxing few hours. Highly recommended!
Fun story of detective work, friendship and naughty grandsons. Has Gloria finally gotten in over her head? Officer Kennedy has to be on his toes as he does his job as well as looking out for the Garden Girls, especially one in particular!
Gloria is helping her friend Andrea look over an old abandoned mansion, which is supposedly haunted. They find a dead body in the shed, and Gloria is on the hunt. Great reading with a little romance and religion along the way
Gloria stumbles into a mystery and then a murder and just can't help but do a little snooping. A clue point too close to home, though, before they are all in. And, she's pulled into serious danger on this escapade.
And the grandkids aren't really wild, just a bit energetic.
Gloria is at it again, this time trying to find out firstly who has been hiding in her barn, then who killed the guy in Andrea's new house. Is it Andrea?
Enjoy Hope Callaghan's books very much. Her stories have humor, suspense and every day living. The book was very difficult to put down and when I did could not wait to get back to it.
