Katana Collins is a USA Today bestselling author of over twenty novels, novellas, and comic books in a variety of genres. She is most known for her sensual contemporary romances and her wildly popular comic book— Batman White Knight Presents: Harley Quinn with DC Comics.

When she was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse … she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.

An avid animal lover, she lives in Portland, Maine with her kind of mean cat, derpy lab-pitt mix, mellow chihuahua, and very not mellow cairn terrier puppy. Oh, yeah… there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too.

She can usually be found in a coffee shop with her nose buried in a laptop wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

She loves connecting with book lovers like herself, and fellow sassy storytellers, so feel free to drop her an email, visit her on her website. She also loves connecting on Instagram, Facebook or in her reader group, Kat’s Kittens!

A wickedly sexy, totally engrossing, and thrilling read! Hot sex and great leading men are becoming trademarks of Katana Collins’s writing. Fun, witty and filled with sarcastic banter, her books are an insta click for sure.

Jessica has decided that she will do anything to find her sisters’ killer/killers. Even if it means submerging herself in a world that she never expected to find herself in. Masters and subs play games Jessica just cant seem to get a handle on. Add in drugs and murder…. Well, you’ve got an erotic cocktail of mystery to solve.

There are multiple POV’s. I think I counted five? And without a notice of perspective change, it could be a bit confusing. I found myself re-reading at times just to make sure who was who. It’s such a good mystery that I didn’t want to miss anything. I mentally changed who I thought the killer was 3 times!!!

I am also excited to see a chance of more books, or at least a spin off in this series. I feel very much invested in some of these guys and want to know what happens next with them. (to say who could be considered a spoiler)

Can’t wait to see what comes next!

All in all a 4.5 STARS!

Afrodyt's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

This is a serial novel and while this novel could be read as a standalone the story is better understood if you read Wicked Shots and Wicked Exposure first.

After her sisters untimely death, Jessica returns to her childhood home of Portland Maine to wrap up her sisters affairs. She soon finds out that her sister had a TON of secrets and each new discovery Jess makes about her sisters lifestyle takes her further down a dangerous road. Soon she finds she doesn't know who to trust and that her life may be in danger, especially if she keeps gathering more clues and evidence that her sister's death was no random act of violence.
Sam is the detective investigating Cass, Jessica's sister's murder. He also happens to be A childhood friend of the family and Jessica's former flame. Their relationship is complicated and didn't end well. Now that they've been reunited the sparks fly and their steamy romance takes off. But all is not well and as the case unravels both Sam and Jess find themselves fighting for their lives.

This novel is a classic "whodunnit" with more twists and turns than a bowl of spaghetti! I didn't know who to trust because it seemed everyone had something to hide. I enjoyed the story and the sex was steamy. The BDSM aspects of the story gave it some spice, but seemed irrelevant at times. I will reiterate what I said in the beginning. Read Wicked Shots and Wicked Exposure first because this story will make more sense if you do.

I did not read the first two books in this serial, however, I found this story to be delightful. I love the fact that I was wrong...TWICE, about the killers identity. This story will have you second guessing and suspecting EVERYONE.
The story was well written with great dialog and character development, not to mention hot sex!

Wicked Release,  Katana Collins

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance, Erotica.

When I read Wicked Exposure I hadn’t realised there was a prequel novel, Wicked Shots. I loved it anyway and have since read Shots ( It was free on Kindle), and seeing the story from the beginning helped make sense of it.
There are numerous characters here and all connected in different ways so its easy to get confused. Still the story races along, with hot sex, a little BDSM, and a cracking adventure that kept me guessing. I went through a number of different guesses as to “who dunnit” but got it wrong each time, and kept changing my mind as the story advances.
I loved Jess, she’s been through so much and still secrets and shocks keep hurtling up on her. She’s feeling like the sister she thought she knew was really a very different person....then there’s Sam. He’s been carrying a huge secret too, and I so felt for both of them when it came out. There’s so much going on here, the drugs issue and who is behind it, is the BDSM ring connected or just a convenient cover, then there's the murders of Cass and the doctor, and as the story continues there’s even more danger being exposed.
It becomes clear that whoever is behind things wants Jess out, but she can’t let Cass’ murder go free, can’t let the drugs ring continue, and what she doesn’t know is there is even more going on that any of them realise. Its a complete surprise on several fronts at the end from who is ultimately behind things to who is working for different sides. That ending too...what a shock, had me completely fooled!
Is a fabulous read, breathtakingly paced and full of surprise and sensuality – a solid romantic suspense and one  loved.

Stars: Five, a great finish to a fabulous series. (Or is it the finish? There’s an opening left for more!)-

Review:

So, I was like "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh" when the last story ended, not realizing it was a continuing story. It does have an end though, you can see where there is a small window left open for maybe another book. That is all you are getting in the way of info on the story line. I hate when reviews ruin the story for me, especially in this case where there are so many misdirections that anyone could be the killer. Really, at some point I thought everyone was Cass's killer. The Author really did a great job with truly keeping me guessing until the last 10% of the book and even still threw a little zinger in at the end. Of course the story has romance in it and even that was up in the air to me with Sam and Jess being on the outs at the end of the last book. The sexy parts are great and steamy and add to the storyline. Okay, have you confused now? lol. Let's just say I thought it was an excellent read and highly recommend especially if you like a good romantic mystery that really keeps you guessing what everyone is up to.

Can you ever really get satisfaction from finding the person that killed your sister? Well Jessica a forensic photographer was determined to do just that , with the help of Sam the towns lead detective . But the more Jess starts looking the more stuff pops up about her sister Cass. But being determined has also put a bulls eye on her back . Can Sam save Jess from the same fate as Cass.? Need to read to find out .

This was a good read for me. It was fast paced with some mystery and suspense. More of a who done it book. I was surprised who the killer was in the end. You know a book is good when it has you guessing until the end, and you're wrong with each guess. Keep me on the edge of my seat. Nicely done.

3 stars for me.

Jessica Walters continues to investigate the murder of her sister, Cassandra, but she realizes that everyone has been lying to her - even Sam who confesses that his mother was the drunk driver that ran her parents down and killed them when Jess was a teenager. Without Sam to lean on, she now looks to Elliot, who seems to have truly been in love with her sister. He suggests that they pose as a dom and sub to infiltrate the world that had been so much a part of Cass's life before she died, but the discovery of a large stash of illegal prescription drugs hidden in Cass's house leads Jess in a whole different direction.
Wicked Release continues the story that began in Wicked Exposure. Unfortunately, this book doesn't live up to the promise of the first. The pacing of this book is off as it rehashes clues and suspects without offering much beyond what was shown in the first book until almost the very end, where several new aspects of the case are introduced. The ending, however, is very satisfying and somewhat unexpected. Overall, a pretty good book, though a bit of a letdown.

Is it about dom/sub parties? Is it about a prescription drug dealing older sister? Is it about smuggling or murder or relationships with dominant men? Is is about organ harvesting? Really, organ harvesting? Yes, really.

Not great, Bob.

I received in exchange for an honest review. Let me start by saying I wasn't fortunate to read the first two books in this series but decided to give it a shot anyway and read some details and samples of the first two. I wish I had read them and I'm going to go back and do so. I loved this author her writing was fluid and flowed so easily. It was an erotic, suspenseful, sexy, entertaining, surprisingly fresh, OMG kind of book. I definitely recommend this author and this series it will fulfill your every desire in a book! A MUST READ!

If you want a good read that has mystery, thrills, suspense, a few hot scenes with some BDSM thrown in then this is the read for me...errr I mean for you! I didnt know that this was part of a series but I was about to get into the story with no problem. I just wish I had of read the others before this one so then maybe I could have had a better clue as to who the killer was. It's a surprise.
