I managed to find this book individually on eBay seperate from the 7th edition rules so I thought it would be a good idea to heave a read through the 40k lore.
The primary focus here is the Imperium of Man and it’s clash with chaos. You will get the overview of the rise of the Imperium, some timelines, overview of the different forces of the imperium, and where the Imperium is in the 41st millennium.
There are very brief sections for the Xeno races (about 2 pages each), yet no mention of the genestealer cults. There is plenty of beautiful art in the book that helps set the scene, this was definitely a plus as the writing can get a little dull at times.
I’d recommend this book if you are interested in Warhammer 40k but are not to familiar with the lore. However if you are interested in the lore of races other than the Imperium of Man I would highly suggest looking for that race specific codex.
An awesome lorebook to learn about the Warhammer 40K universe.
It contains information about the Imperium of Man and its institutions, a chronicle of major events and a part that talks about all the alien factions. Plus a lot of awesome artwork. Must read by all the fans of Warhammer 40K
