‘Famous for having his heart broken by emotionally unavailable men’ should be engraved on my headstone. I wish I could say I learn from each one, but the reality is… I don’t. If you give me a tall, dark, and handsome cowboy with sad eyes and a kind heart, I will never say no. It’s always been yes, and I deal with the emotional fallout after.
Then I meet Rhett.
Rhett and I didn’t exactly have a smooth start, and for the first time… I said no.
It didn’t last long, because I’m weak and he’s literally the perfect man for me. I know I’ve said that before, but he’s different. Sure, he drinks his coffee black, and that goes against every fibre in my being, but I can overlook the major flaw that it is. Rhett isn’t like the others. He’s serendipity on horseback, and I can’t ignore it. Now I just need to convince him it’s okay to allow himself to fall.
After all, I already have, and I’ll wait forever to be there to catch him when he does.
Rhett Love isn’t something that’s been kind to me, so it’s best to just give up on finding my soulmate. Rodeo has been my spouse for years, and it’s easier that way.
Until I meet the flirty barista/business owner named Diamond.
Our first meeting went as well as a no score in the final go-round. Thankfully his sunshiny demeanour eased the sting of a terrible start. He makes me notice how much space rodeo doesn’t fill. He gives far more than he takes, and I can’t help but wish I’d met him sooner.
Diamond is unexpected, and I can’t seem to figure out what to do. I know he wants more, and maybe I do too, but we’re so different it couldn’t possibly last.
I’m not a man who’s easy to love. It’s best to let Diamond go and save us both the inevitable heartache. But if that’s truly the best thing to do, why is it so hard to let go?
CW: mention of cancer and treatment by one MC, parental abandonment and verbal abuse mentioned off page, death of a grandparent off page Bronc Riders Don’t Fall In Love is the fourth and final book in the Kissing Ridge Cowboy Series. A friends with benefits, opposites attract, hurt comfort story with the flirty barista, Diamond, and the tender-hearted bronc rider. Shopping for barns as a date, kissing scars, and a supportive dad obsessed with tomatoes. Cooking that leads to confessions and the most swoony accidental proposal.

Bronc Riders Don’t Fall in Love by R.M. Neill is book 4 in the new Kissing Ridge Cowboys series. This is another series that I have really enjoyed and I was drawn into Diamond and Rhett’s story from the very beginning. I absolutely adore Diamond. His life has not been easy and he just wants someone to love him and let him love them. Diamond loves to show his love by being there for the person. Rhett is scared of that. He also has been hurt in the past and Diamond seemed too good to be true. Rhett frustrated me so many times in his determination to push Diamond away and remind him that he is not able to make a commitment. Once he got his head out of a certain place, these two were amazing. I will admit that the way Rhett treated Diamond on his grandfather’s birthday was NOT okay and hopefully Diamond will not let that happen again. It was so jarring after the sweetness of them admitting their love and moving in together. It took me out of the story a little bit and reminded me of the first time Rhett was in Diamond’s shop. All in all though, this was a great story and I look forward to the next one. I REALLY need one about Will, Diamond’s dad. What a sweetheart that guy is.
I received an ARC from the author and Neon Rainbow ARC Reviews for my honest review.
From the beginning I longed for Diamond's book, my favorite character in this series. It doesn't disappoint because the book is really my favorite, Diamond is fantastic until the end of the book and Rhett... so great together. I laughed, I cried. This is the perfect book. All the MCs from the previous books are here, especially Hunter, that I love. Can’t wait for the next book.
MY OPINION: I love this series. It is likely that I am just a sucker for cowboy stories, but if that is the case, then this is perfect to fill that niche within me. Each one is a unique story with the previous couples interacting, but not the main focus.
This couple is a favorite. Rhett is a bronc rider who is working at the rodeo school that’s been established in Kissing Ridge—the main town all these books are written around. Diamond runs the coffee shop; he’s still country with a whole lot of sparkle and sass. When Rhett sees him for the very first time, there is something there.
Both of these men are broken but not beyond repair. Deciding to keep things casual is easy in theory, but hearts have a way of doing what they want. As both of them risk the one thing they swore they wouldn’t. Throughout the book, you follow them as they fall for each other. Accepting that the things they believe weren’t always true. People can be good, partners can be supportive and kind, and love doesn’t have to hurt.
This is such a lovely story. Quite a bit of internal angst, but nothing much on the outside. There are plenty of feelings, though. I love Diamond as a character, and every time he was on page, he was a joy. The series as a whole is wonderful, and I recommend it. There are some great spice scenes, but they are only moderately explicit and short, fitting with the story as a whole.
I recommend this book for sure, and think most people who like a story of rodeo men would like this one.
"Bronc Riders Don't Fall in Love" is the last book in the Kissing Ridge Cowboy series. I'll miss the cowboys, the covers and titles, but I have to say, RM Neill is ending on a bright note. A sparkly, sunshiny coffee shop owner meets Tall, Dark and Cowboy. This is a lazy moving, friends w/benefits, hurt-comfort story with a side of birth/found family. Some angst, but also lots to smile and laugh about. Diamond Ward, coffee shop owner, was easy to love. His type is cowboy and his luck is nil. All he wants in life is to find someone to take care of. And he isn't above using Pinterest ouija to get it. Rhett Cuglietta, champion bronc rider, was just a bit harder to even like. He does fit the Tall, Dark and Cowboy requirement. But he's a savage, black coffee is (in Diamond's opinion) a crime against humanity. Then again, Diamond just might be a tad overcaffeinated. Rhett has walls and walls, and possibly, a moat around his heart. Just as Diamond breeches them, fear kicks in, and Rhett's rather awful to his man. Thank goodness for a small town and some cheerfully busy busybodies (Diamond's dad, all the MCs from books 1-3) who intervene/interfere at the right times. They're a good fit once Rhett gets his stuff together. There's some spice here, a little chasing and evading. And of course, a well deserved HEA. For these two MCs. And the reader too. Now we should get RM Neill to add a Kissing Ridge Cowboy novella. And give sweet William his own HEA. I received an advance copy of this ebook and this is my review.
Thank you, RM for my copy of Bronc Riders Don't Fall in Love. The 4th & Final book in the Kissing Ridge Cowboys series. Though BRDFIL can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the Kissing Ridge Cowboy series in order. Diamond the fabulous flirty barista, baker & Owner of the Thirsty Cow get his own story in Bronc Riders Don't Fall in Love when champion Bronc Rider, Rhett moves to Kissing Ridge. I loved getting to know Diamond more but gosh did my heart hurt when we learnt about his past. Rhett maybe successful in his field but life hasn't been kind to him in a multitude of ways. When Diamond & Rhett agree on a FWB (Friends with Benefits) situation its clear to readers that love is already in the air, we just have to wait for them to work it out!
⚠️ Content Warnings ⚠️ I advise readers to check out the content warnings.
Bronc Riders Don’t Fall In Love is full of heart, heat, healing and concludes with a HEA.
You know the side character that leaps out at you every time they appear on page? Diamond is the one in this series that captured my attention and, probably, everyone else's too. We knew little of him, apart from him being the owner of all the coffee shop that all the couples in this series love. He's a friend to them, and has been a warm and witty presence whenever he appears. Finding out his back story, and Rhett's as well, made me so happy they found each other. Both had high walls so that no one could hurt them again, and that was so sad because they were good men who deserved to be happy and cherished for who they were. It took a little while to warm completely to Rhett, who didn't make the best first impression, but I understood why he was holding himself back. He's obviously a good person because his dog and his horse love him almost as much as he loves them, bless him. Seeing Hunter and Gabe and the others from the earlier books was a nice bonus, but Diamond's dad, Will, was just the best. His relationship with his son was beautiful. Now I know what the next series will be, I can't wait. A spin-off with Hunter and Gabe's grown-up sons? All the yesses. Once you've finished the book, you definitely need to get the bonus scene. I can pretty much guarantee you'll never have seen a wedding like it!
We first met Diamond in Ropers Can't Tie Knots, and from that moment I knew I needed his story. It turned out to be so much more than I hoped for. Diamond has been busy manifesting his dream cowboy, he even has an entire Pinterest board dedicated to it. And then one day poof, all that manifesting pays off and his dream cowboy shows up in Kissing Ridge. Rhett comes to town to take a position at Hunter’s new ranch, but things don’t exactly go smoothly when he and Diamond first meet. They’ve both had some rough past experiences, so the walls are definitely up. Still, how could anyone not fall for Diamond? One of my favorite parts of the story was Diamond’s relationship with his dad. They have such a strong bond, and I absolutely loved seeing that connection throughout the book. Books by RM Neill are always feel good, funny, and full of heart with very little drama. You find yourself smiling while reading. This is the last book in the series, which makes me a little sad, but I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
You can read this as a standalone, however, why not experience the whole Kissing Ridge gang
They fit each other even though logically they probably shouldn’t. And initially they don’t. When they first meet Rhett thinks Diamond is nothing but a flirt.
Diamond owns a bakery/coffee shop and Rhett rides the rodeo circuit. Everyone in town loves Diamond and he's friendly to everyone.
Now Rhett wants to put down roots. He’s tired of being on the road constantly. When Rhettt is offered a position teaching future rodeo riders he comes to town and meets Diamond.
Their conversation about what they’d like on a date is so sweet. Neither one wants to make the first move especially if they’re wrong i. It could be painful and, embarrassing. Not to say humiliating.
But once again conversations and honesty brings them together…along with the help of friends and pups, and a love for horses and the land.
A heartwarming story with an HEA. If you love romance, I'm confident you'll love this.
Thanks to Bookfunnel and RM for this most appreciated book!
Low angst, good vibes in Canadian cowboy country🏞🐎
I had a great time reading books one and three in the author's Kissing Ridge series a while back but approached this as a standalone and it worked. Characters from earlier in the series do appear and, especially Hunter and Jackson, are key side characters, but I appreciated that I didn't need to know their prior stories to enjoy the central MM romance between cafe owner/baker Diamond and champion bronc rider Rhett who is looking to establish a home base in Kissing Ridge.
Diamond with his sad history of illness and failed romance was my favorite of the couple. He's so kind and supportive to his friends and Rhett, whose protective shell makes their initial meeting so unpleasant. Plus, Diamond's close relationship with his tomato-obsessed father is lovely.
This one had little angst and a nice progression of increasing trust to the romance.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Fourth in series and finale (Kissing Ridge Cowboys), can be read as a standalone but might be better if read in order. Friends with benefits. Opposites attract. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
Coffee shop owner Diamond manifests the man of his dreams when he finds out bronc rider Rhett is moving to Kissing Ridge. Rhett is happy to be in a new town with a new job outside of the rodeo circuit, but risking his heart by falling in love again is a hard no.
This story has two main characters to love and to root for. Both Diamond and Rhett are confident and capable in their careers and yet have had personal relationships let them down in the past which has bruised both of their hearts and causes them to question whether they can have love and happiness. I enjoyed Diamond’s character as he is so giving and has a big heart, and it takes a while to see that Rhett is a romantic deep down once he opens up to Diamond. A really sweet story with supportive friends, where two guys have to work a little harder to grab onto their HEA. 4.25
Independent reviewer for Neon, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 4, the final book, in the Kissing Ridge Cowboys series, and you don't need to have read books 1 through 3. I've only read book 3 and I lovevd that book.
I loved this one too!
Diamond and Rhett are perfect for each other, even if their first meeting went a little wrong. Rhett did redeem himself though.
I loved that they started out as smex buddies, by agreement, but they both very quickly realised that they wanted more.
Loved that all the guys from previous books pop up, and I loved Diamond's dad!
What I loved most about this, and book 3, was how easy they were to read. You can just fall into them, and not have to concentrate too, which is a VERY GOOD THING!!
At some point, I want to go back and read books one and two, but not sure when I'll get to them.
I loved these books and I highly recommend them. These books put Ms Neil firmly on my auto sign-up list!
BRONC RIDERS DON'T FALL IN LOVE is the fourth in RM Neill’s Kissing Springs Cowboys series. Bronc rider Rhett Cuglietta's caught coffee shop owner and baker Diamond Ward's eye even before he ever sets foot in town. When Diamond's friends bring Rhett on staff at their fledgling rodeo training facility, it's a big change of pace for Rhett, but he's hopeful it will be a fresh start in a good place for himself and his beloved horse and dog. Unfortunately Diamond's friendly overture lands like a lead balloon...
RM Neill's romance between the gruff rodeo star and the dazzling self-proclaimed queen of hospitality reminds us that sometimes we just need a second chance to make a good first impression. While Diamond and Rhett's early exchanges catch them a bit flat-footed, they're smart to grab the subsequent chances to get to know each other better, and their friends give them both space and encouragement to build that connection. A hopeful and happy read.
Another fantastic entry in the Kissing Ridge Cowboys series. Lots of found family and grumpy/sunshine in this one. Medium spice as it takes awhile for them to get together.
Rhett comes to town to work at a bronc riding school that characters from previous books have set up. Diamond owns his own cafe in town. They meet at a friends gathering and don't hit it off immediately. Rhett is rude, Diamond is confused. Rhett quickly realizes his mistake and from them on can't take his eyes off Diamond. Diamond is smitten immediately. It takes awhile for Rhett to let his walls down and let Diamond in. Eventually they get their HEA.
Super enjoyable, looking forward to the next one. (While this is part of a series, it works well as a stand alone - but really, you want to read the other books - they're all soooo GOOD).
Diamond is a bit over the top. He knows it and his friends love him for it. Rhett is the reserved one, holding himself back from attachments. Each one uses their outward demeanor to hide old hurts and insecurities. Their first meeting doesn't go really well. But it may be the best thing that ever happened to either one of them.
This was an incredibly fun, incredibly moving story. I couldn't help feel Rhett and Diamond's pain, and ultimately, their joy. Added to that are the appearance of characters from the earlier Kissing Ridge books. On full display is the closeness they share and the way they care for each other. It made this last book in the series all the more meaningful, all the more powerful.
Thanks to RM Neill for a copy of this book. The thought and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed Diamond and Rhett's story! Both have been through a lot but finally meet each other and find their happily ever after. They've been hurt deeply, but the deep love they feel for each other heals their souls. I loved seeing the romantic sides of both of them come out. It was beautiful to see both of them tear down their walls and be honest and direct with each other. I loved their caretaking, they both needed it and they both did it in the exact way the other person needed it.
It was great being back at Kissing Ridge and seeing the other couples and what they were up to. I really enjoyed this found family and how they were all in each other's corners and always ready to help in any way they could.
This was a very sweet and beautiful story. Diamond and Rhett's backstories will have you teary eyed, but it's worth it to see them so happy together.
This novel was so sweet. Diamond deserved his HEA, and boy, did he get it. It was hard fought between the two men. Navigating their baggage and climbing walls seemed impossible. Diamond and some pretty tall walls to climb, Rhett had built them up for a while. Diamond had baggage he'd carried with him for a long time, and it was heavy. Each man had their support systems, and once they let their friends help, they were able to get past each other's walls and baggage. Their passion and love for each other were beautiful to read. RM Neill also wrote some cameos from previous series, and it was fun to read how they interacted with this world. Overall, a gratifying read, and I highly recommend this series.
Another fantastic story in the Kissing Ridge series! Book 4 in the series follows coffee shop owner Diamond and bronc rider Rhett. Both men come with a lot of heavy baggage and high walls to climb. Diamond and Rhett are instantly attracted to one another. They agree to keep things casual between them, no feelings, but we all know how well that usually works out. The more time they spend together, the more the walls begin to crumble and with the help of their friends and family, they may just find their HEA. Overall, this was a low angst, sweet but spicy, hard to put down, easy to read, end to the series. It was fun seeing all the past characters from previous books and I can’t wait for more!
This is book 4 and the last book in the Kissing Ridge Cowboys series and I loved it. Diamond is adorable and Rhett gorgeous, and together they made a great couple. After their first meeting, which didn’t go so well, it was terrific watching them get together. Both men are dealing with hard times in their pasts which has Rhett reluctant to start a serious relationship, despite the attraction between them. This is a sweet, emotional, low-angst, heartwarming story about two men who are perfect for each other and who deserve their happy ever after. To help them along there are appearances from previous main characters, but that shouldn’t stop you from reading this book. I loved Diamond and Rhett’s story and happily recommend it as a terrific read.
Diamond is a flirty, sunshiny barista who hides a heavy past behind a bright smile. Rhett is a champion bronc rider who is done with the road and ready to settle down, but he’s built massive walls around his heart to keep from getting hurt. When they agree to a friends with benefits arrangement, they think they’re safe from emotions getting in the way. Spoiler: They aren't. 😂
Diamond is a literal ball of energy, while Rhett is the tender-hearted grump who just needs a soft space. This story has emotional depth and I absolutely loved Diamond’s dad, Will!
🐎 FWB to Lovers 💎 Opposites Attract 🐎 Hurt/Comfort vibes 💎 Sweet but steamy 🐎 Heartwarming
Trigger warning: this book has a character that is a cancer survivor. Frequent mention of his treatment is made. If this brings unpleasant memories proceed with caution. Also mentions of parental abandonment and death of a grandparents. Both presented as memories and not on page. I loved both Rhett and Diamond. I loved seeing all the gang too. Lots of great characters, a beautiful story with lots going on. The only thing I missed was a bit more rodeo action. But all in all it was an amazing story. I loved Tater and the horses too. If you like rodeo cowboys, bronc riders, baristas, a little grumpy sunshine, hurt comfort and small town romance you will love this.
Thank you for the book; here is my honest opinions: This is such a wonderful series, I’ve enjoyed all the books. Diamond has been a favorite of mine, so I’m happy he got his own cowboy HEA. Rhett took a while to warm up to as he clung so long to the keeping it casual thing, which got frustrating. I did enjoy it, RM Neil writes with such a fun sense of humor and does big swoony moments better than anyone. I absolutely loved Diamond’s dad, Will. He is an absolute delight and their relationship was really lovely- a highlight for me. I loved Diamond, he manifested his own happy ending, I’m glad Rhett got on board.
I really liked Rhett, he was a bit stoic, but kind and thoughtful. His first meeting with Diamond may have gone sideways (truthfully I would have had the same reaction) but they make a nice couple. They both find a beautiful reason to try for love.
There were lots of wonderful moments.
I have to admit, I didn’t warm entirely to Diamond. He was a little too ‘toxic positivity’ and pushy, that honestly had me unable to fully move on from those feelings, even as we got to know him better.
But still it was a nice story, and they made a great couple.
We met Rhett previously as someone Gabe helped with lawyer stuff. When Rhett decides to settle down in Kissing Ridge and be all moody and emotionally unavailable about it Diamond hits him like a Disco ball- wrecking ball. Diamond and Rhett do the same thing (keep people at a distance to avoid getting hurt) but from opposite directions, Diamond flirts and Rhett is a grump. But they find each other and family, and it's just fun to spend more time in Kissing Ridge.
Bronc Riders Don't Fall in Love is the 4th and final book in the Kissing Ridge Cowboys series. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading the series in order. This is the story of Diamond and Rhett. I think R.M. Neill saved the best book in the series for last. Diamond and Rhett had a hard start but they worked through it and are just perfect for each other. This was just an amazing story and I will miss Kissing Ridge. I can't wait to see what R.M. Neill writes next. I would definitely recommend this book and series. received a free review copy
I have loved this series, and this was a great addition to the collection. And a nice way to wrap the series. Diamond has been a key side character throughout the series. So, it's nice to see him get his own book. It was great to get his back story, and further development of his character. Then you get introduced to the Pinterest inspiring bronc rider, Rhett. Rhett has his own rocky background. But this story has just a little angst, nothing major, and a whole lot of feels. Love me a good cowboy story!
There is just something about a series that creates a world that allows you to escape your reality and spend a few hours in the town where you wish you lived. It’s what keeps us coming back. The plots don’t have to be realistic, they just have to be the reality we want. RM Neill has created that place for me in Kissing Ridge. These cowboys are my friends, and Diamond takes care of us all. I’m glad he gets his HEA because Rhett is awesome. But. . . I have to admit, I’m even more intrigued by the possibility of Will getting his cowboy. . .
‘Rhett’s gaze finally meets mine, and oof…those eyes. Give me a life vest because I will happily drown in them and regret nothing. His gaze lingers on my face before traveling down my body, and it takes all my effort not to ask him if he wants to see my clothes on the floor.’
Whew! We knew Diamond’s story was gonna be something special, and RM Neill gave us all the heat and the sweet!
I adore these men and their friends and eagerly look forward to reading about all the Kissing Ridge Cowboy romances!
I was very pleased with how real Diamond and Rhett felt. They were not perfect and their lives up to that point had not been either. Rhett was very hesitant and a bit untrusting of Diamond. I guess finding your Diamond out in the ruff can be scary! This was not an insta love tale. Diamond and Rhett had to feel each other out, they made mistakes, but they did communicate which was somehow romantic!
I loved Diamond and Rhett, they were so messy and realistic. Both men have been hurt before but where Diamond is still willing to put his heart on the libe, Rhett is absolutely terrified that this will end with him broken beyond repair. He really had no defense against Diamond's sunshine demeanor and it was wonderful to see him slowly let his guard down.
I really liked Diamond and Rhett. The two of them both have their issues about relationships. It was great to see them work through them together. I liked that they formed a friendship as well as being lovers. There are some tender moments as well as some heat. I thought this was a really good ending to the series. It was a really good read that I finished in just a couple hours.
