Black Swan 3: A Natural Disaster Thriller

Rate this book
They called it the end of the world.
They were wrong. It was the beginning of something worse.

The Black Swan Event series continues from international bestselling author, Bobby Akart, one of America’s favorite storytellers, who has delivered up-all-night thrillers to over two million readers in 245 countries and territories worldwide.

Ninety days after the sky fell, the real crisis begins. The comet has passed. The sky has stopped falling. But for the Pickett family and the seven billion survivors left in its wake, the nightmare is only beginning.

Across the globe, strange metallic objects have appeared. Seamless, silent, and immovable. They cannot be destroyed. They cannot be captured. And they are watching.

In Liberty, Texas, Sheriff Bud Pickett is fighting a war on four desperate refugees, a power-hungry billionaire, a military that shoots first, and an alien presence no one can explain. His children are trapped inside a government bunker, trading their freedom for answers about a conspiracy that stretches back decades.

As tensions rise and uncertainty reaches a crisis level, mankind attempts to take bold action to uncover the secrets. However, the objects are keeping score. Humanity’s response, every act of violence, every act of kindness, is being recorded.

Something is coming. And it wants to know if we’re worth saving.

Black Swan 3 is a heart-pounding thriller about first contact, family loyalty, and the terrifying question of what happens when humanity meets something it cannot fight, understand, and certainly, cannot ignore.

This modern-day, fact-based novel will have you whispering just one more chapter until the end.

Exhilarating and outstanding!

Black Swan 3 brings us back to the Pickett family, the Reyes family, and the rest of Liberty County, TX during the bombardment from 4I/SWAN as it reaches the apogee of its trip by Earth. As the bombardment slows, all too terrestrial dangers quickly make themselves known. Akart masterfully imagines what the human cost of such an event could be, and thus, what it might drive them to do if given a manipulative push. Akart has completely rewritten the alien invasion playbook with his all too realistic series! Overall, 5/5 stars, highly recommended for any reader interested in disaster thrillers, first contact thrillers and thrillers in general!!

Will Mob Rule Win?

Inexorably, Comet 4I/SWAN has drawn near and into the Earth. Just as relentlessly, Author Bobby Akart has teased us, made believers of us, and now completely confuses us.

Black Swan 3 is his most complicated, yet understandable book. I often wonder if Bobby Akart is a secret cyber nerd who designed a chip and implanted it in Humanity, this would explain how acutely he understands the greatest good and the abhorrent evil living in the heart of humans.

Book 3 felt to me like being thrown around in the dark with flashing lights on the Space Mountain rollercoaster in Disney World in Florida. I never knew which direction I would be whipped in or had my progress impeded. Fear-inducing? Completely.

Bless your nefarious heart, Bobby Akart, for leaving us with yet another humungous cliffhanger ending. I can see you cackling over your computer. Thank goodness we won't have to wait too long for the finalé. Another outstanding book that deserves 5 stars and more

This has it all!! Best writing, characters, and a plot that doesn’t stop feeding your interest!!

Bobby Akart, master of whatever he writes! It hurts to read his books that have sequels,. Because the pain that’s caused waiting for the next book to be published! I can say that for every book Mr. Akart has written and will always endure that pain with pleasure!

In the third installment of Black Swan, the “comet” passed between the earth and the moon resulting in an EMP causing significant damage to the electrical grid and resulting in a massive number of objects falling from the sky that obliterated everything in their path. The story takes us inside the PPD where the siblings find data indicating their family and others have been monitored for generations.

The story also takes us back outside the PPD as Emily and X searches for Bud. Bella and her family discover that their children inherited the ability to “sense” the object. Daniel warns Bella of impending doom. Except for the last few chapters, where there appeared to be a lot of repetition, the preceding chapters lacked the gut wrenching punches of the previous books in the series. Overall a good installment, but not as intense as the previous two.

It's been 90 days since things stopped falling from the sky around the globe after the comet passed and silver orbs are appearing in craters. In Liberty Texas, Sheriff Bud Pickett has his hands full along with very few people trying to stop the townspeople being egged on by unscrupulous people into doing something they will all regret, picture a crowd with torches and pitchforks only this time they have guns and Bibles. The orbs are silently watching, judging the people and deciding if humankind is worth saving.

As promised, they're here! The question is, "Who or what is here"? Did they just get here, or did they send a scout team? The result is, Liberty county is in chaos. One little six year old girl seems to be able to talk to the orb and Hartley is stirring up normally acting people. Is Hartley part of the advance team? Something worth wondering about. We were just about to find out when the book ended. Probably the best hook to read the next one ever.

Excellent blend of science sci-fi

A small town becomes the focus of a visit by another species beyond normal human concepts of life.
Throw together a couple of families who are discovering they have talents they they do not understand and can't explain. Mister Akart has created concepts that start very difficult to grab but build until you beg for more. This would make a great series of movies.

To put it simply, this is an awesome story. I was hooked from the very beginning, and it keeps me totally invested. The one downfall? The OVERUSE of simile and certain repetitive phrases… “ he did not have the language to describe..”
Nonetheless, I am totally hooked and cannot wait for the next book

Definitely a page turner

Book 3 will keep you on the edge of your seat and also make you question the strength of humanity. It definitely is dystopian but in a different kind of way and it makes you ask yourself. What would it take for society to fall apart. Definitely a page turner, I can’t wait until book 4.

One heck of a ride

Bobby Akart has shifted slightly off the path of his standard genre and proved he's got the chops to keep readers coming back. The mystery continues, the tension keeps building, and I'm here for it.

It’s a great story however I found much of it drawn out and padded. Others may feel differently but it spoilt it for me.

An editor would go a long way

Good story but too many redundancies and drifting plot lines. An editor could clean this up and make it a lot better.
