Prophecy of the Seven

Rate this book
There is no turning back now.

Alexia Novak, the leader of the rebellion, stormed the capital, but what she didn't expect to find was the betrayal of a lifetime. Broken and consumed with grief, there was no other choice but for her and the rebellion to go into hiding. For now. They were simply biding their time, rallying the troops, to come back stronger than before.
But when Slater's brother, Warrick, was dispatched to take her out, that was when everything fell apart.
The king ripped through the kingdom, leaving nothing but ash in his wake, taunting Alexia with the power he did not deserve.
The ruin of Omnia may be just what it needed for redemption. However, Alexia and Slater are fated, but how could she possibly trust again? Is being fated truly enough? Will they unite and stand against the king, rising from the ashes he created, or will they fall once more?

I’ve been writing in all forms my entire life, but the fact that I am now published is a dream I never thought possible. Writing and reading have been there when others have not, these fictional characters may be just that… fictional. However, they have made me laugh, cry, fall in love, a hundred times over. I have lived so many lives and so have you. I cannot wait for you to live in mine. Happy reading!

We dive back into this series after the events of the first book AND BOY OH FUCKING BOY the shit that went down. I HAD NO IDEA what I was instore for, HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the adventure as well as the world building through out has been EXCEPTIONAL! I had no trouble getting immersed into the world of Omnia and wanting these characters to SUCCEED SO DAMN BAD! Even with the loss and betrayal causing them hardship along the way, Alexia and the gang (Addie, Sage, Nyasaki, Briar and Slater) defeated all odds, stood strong, and gained some allies along the way. Of course, SOME SHIT went down, and I was ON THE EDGE OF MY DAMN SEAT reading as fast as I could to have resolution and YOU BET I WAS SCREAMING IN HAPPINESS when it did.

This has THE SAME FUCKING EFFECT as I have for Sam Cortland from Throne of Glass and Liam from Fourth Wing. Every time I hear “to a better world” now, I AM GOING TO FUCKING CRY. UGGGHHH. As much as this ending pained me, it also gave me so much warmth and happiness THAT IT WAS BURSTING OUT OF MY CHEST. I just wish someone was there to see it, but I AM SURE that they would be looking down from above and being as happy as I am. Overall, I am SO PROUD of K.S. Elliott for what she has accomplished with this duology, and I CAN’T WAIT for what she has coming next! I love you! <3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

This book had me hooked from the first chapter. The determination and strong willed energy from Alexia lit my soul on fire while I was reading, the emotional growth, and depth of these characters have made them entirely unforgettable.

The pacing of this novel had me hooked in the whole time. My kindle followed me everywhere because I wanted every spare moment spent reading this book.

My expectations were high for this book already, and then K.S Elliott just went higher and exceeded my expectations beyond measure. This will definitely be on the re-read list

🧠 Characters

Main Characters:
• Alexia Novak, girl you are one bad ass queen!
• Slater Deveraux, I love you. No further notes

Alexia and Slaters relationship felt so unbelievably earnt, they avoided the obvious for so long that when it was accepted it was all the bit sweeter.

Finally… the ending of this, hurt more than Liam Mari so yeah just sit with that one.
‘To a better world Bri” I was inconsolable
💌 Final Verdict

If you loved Fourth Wing especially for the energy and pacing, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

Would I recommend? YES
Would I reread? 100%

“To a better world.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had a much stronger experience with Prophecy of the Seven than I did with Book 1, and honestly one of the most rewarding parts of this duology has been seeing KS Elliott grow as a writer across the series.

The improvement in the writing style was noticeable almost immediately. The story flows far more naturally, the pacing feels smoother, the emotional moments are given room to breathe, and the characters themselves feel so much more developed. This book was genuinely easy to sink into and difficult to put down.

After the events in the capital, the rebellion against the king is finally beginning to rise as the truth about his experiments on civilians spreads throughout the kingdom. I really enjoyed the quieter Terra sections where the group trains civilians for the coming war whilst laying low with Briar’s family. Some of my favourite moments were actually the smaller character interactions, the party after the first day of training, Alexia crashing out in the forest over Slater, the deeper conversations between the group, and the growing emotional weight behind their relationships.

The bonds between the “seven” felt significantly stronger in this book. In Book 1, I struggled a little with how quickly relationships formed, but here the friendships, loyalty, grief, tension and care between characters felt much more believable and emotionally grounded. Everyone had more personality, more depth, and more memorable interactions.

Slater was once again the standout character for me. His shift throughout the novel — becoming more emotionally attached to Alexia while also growing colder and more volatile towards the rising situation — added a layer of intensity I really enjoyed. And honestly… the Warrick scene?? Absolutely insane.

I still wasn’t fully sold on the whole “fated lovers” aspect at times, mainly because it occasionally felt more told than explored, but the dynamic between Alexia and Slater was far more compelling in this book overall.

The imagery throughout the novel was also so much stronger. The world felt richer, more immersive, and more emotionally alive this time around.

And that ending… wow. Completely chaotic, emotional, and honestly heartbreaking in a way I wasn’t expecting. There was so much happening during those final chapters, but the emotional weight behind it all really landed for me this time.

Caution for the epilogue because I got very choked up 🥲

Overall, this was such a noticeable step up from Book 1 and made me really excited to see where KS Elliott’s writing goes in the future. There’s so much growth between the two books, and it was honestly really lovely to witness as both a reader and a friend.

Now what the fuck. I’m rocking myself to sleep tonight because why did this hurt so bad?? I love this so so much. Like this duology is the PERFECT example of a proper well done YA series, it was short and sweet, very easy to read and it has very lovable characters even had a side of some romance?? What more can you want in a book??

The found family trope is one of my favourite and it was done so incredibly well, everyone was included and had something to love about them! And don’t get me started on the yearning between Alexia and Slater!!! I was biting my nails so bad waiting for that moment and the build up was exactly what should have happened! Everyone had someone and I couldn’t be more happier 🖤

The magic system! Very unique and creative!! I LOVE LOVE how they were used in every aspect of this book!! And loved how they didn’t use their magic for everything, they calculated their moves and thought ahead. A lot of different stories tend to use just their magic for every single thing but this just showed they were powerful enough to not use it all the time.

Lastly, i would DIE for some short novellas on some of the side characters! I want to know EVERYTHING 🫶🏻

Fuck me I loved this, you done it again Kylah

Prophecy of the Seven was the perfect book to finish K.S. Elliott’s debut YA fantasy duology. She provided us with found family, revenge plots, a beautiful romance, friendship, love, heartbreak and every emotion in between.

Alexia was so beautifully written, and I feel so sad that we have now seen the end of her story. As well as all of our beloved characters: Briar, Nyasaki, Sage, Addie and of course Slater.

I have SO MANY feelings after the ending of this book, and firstly, ow, secondly, wow.

To you, Kylah - I seriously can’t wait to read what you put out next. Even just seeing how much your writing has evolved between Curse and Prophecy, makes me certain you’ve got a big future of writing ahead of you. So proud of you, and thank you for sharing the story with me!!!

To a better world 💙

I thought I was heart broken enough after finishing the Curse of the Seven, but boy was I wrong. Get ready for the last couple of chapters to break your heart all over again!

I loved getting to explore all seven main characters in more depth, learning their backstories. The tension between Alexia and Slater was top tier, it was all I could think about after finishing the first book. K.S. Elliott did an amazing job building the character relationship from friendship to family.
