The audiobook performances by Andie Eloise and Brandon Francis were great. The narration was once again one of the strongest parts of the book.
I liked this one more than the first. Stacy worked better for me as a main character, and her story with Chris was easier for me to get into. I was more interested in their dynamic, and this couple gave me more to root for.
While I enjoyed parts of it, I wasn’t fully pulled in the way I wanted to be. I also still got annoyed whenever certain characters from book one came back into the story, so clearly I am not healed 😆
Overall, this was a better experience for me than the first book, mostly because I connected more with Stacy and Chris relationship.
I’d recommend it to listeners who enjoy romantic suspense, messy drama, strong heroines, second-chance-adjacent romance, and strong audiobook narration.

Only got a 3 because the audio narration was really good.
This was a better story line than the first book.
It picked up right where the cliffhanger from book one ended. I do love Stacey our fmc because she is a takes no crap sassy women. the relationship between her and Chris was almost an insta love kind of thing and I personally apt don’t care for that kind of relationship.
BUT again I felt like so many holes in story and it just sometimes didn’t fit or make sense.
I work also say this is a dark romantic suspense with erotica 🤷🏼♀️

The audiobook narration by Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis was fantastic. They both did a great job bringing the characters and their emotions to life, making the listening experience even more immersive.
I ended up enjoying this book more than the first. Watching the FMC endure so much trauma and still find the strength to reclaim her power was incredibly satisfying. Seeing the man who put her through so much finally get the karma he deserved was one of my favorite moments.
At times, though, I felt like the spice and the plot were competing for the spotlight, and I wasn't always sure which one I was meant to focus on. That said, the spicy scenes were well done, and let's just say this is definitely a very open-minded friend group!
I also appreciated that this installment delivers a satisfying HEA while still setting up what's to come. Based on where this book ended—and whose story I think is next—I have a feeling the next book is going to be an absolute wild ride, and I'm excited to see where the series goes from here.

Although I had some issues with the first book, I always want to give book 2 a chance. Even my favourite authors can occasionally release a book that just doesn't work for me. Unfortunately, this one didn't get better. At this point, I'm wondering if the author's writing style simply isn't a good fit for me.
That said, the concept itself is good, especially if you enjoy fast-paced plots where something is constantly happening. There are a lot of dark themes explored here, so definitely check the trigger warnings before picking this one up.
The book tackles human trafficking (including children), non-con, kidnapping, torture, and unaliving, among other things. My biggest issue was that when these darker topics came to light, the overall tone didn't seem to change with them. The emotional intensity stayed relatively flat.
For me, when a story tackles subjects this heavy, I need to feel the weight of them. I want the despair, the tiny moments of hope, the crushing grief, the fear, and the psychological aftermath. Otherwise, even though the topics are objectively horrific, they don't have the emotional impact they could have had.
Some of this was attempted, but the scenes seemed to blend into one another without enough breathing room for those emotions to actually land. I also struggled with some of the intimacy following the characters' experience. I completely understand that every survivor processes trauma differently, but some of the sexual scenes felt off and, to me, unrealistic, particularly considering how quickly they occurred after certain events.
The story does pick up immediately after the cliffhanger from book 1. While we're following a new couple, they were secondary characters who were heavily featured in the first book. Even with that connection, though, I still struggled to picture or connect with them. It almost felt like there was a missing chapter somewhere because I didn't feel like their relationship or characters had been established enough previously.
And then there's the spice...I rarely complain that there's "too much spice." I read books I rate five 🌶️ and have loved. So when I'm giving a book three, that's a medium level for me. But here, I felt there was too much emphasis on the sexual content, with some scenes seeming to exist primarily for shock value rather than contributing to the plot or character development.
Ultimately, this one was unfortunately a bust for me. However, there are definitely some glowing 5-star reviews, so clearly this story is working for other readers. My experience is just that the combination of writing style, emotional delivery, and pacing didn't work for me.

I had the privilege of getting the ALC from High Gravity. The narrators are some of my favorites, and they knocked it out of the park!
As for the read- I went into this without having read or listened to the 1st book. The author did a good job of leaving us enough crumbs to put the pieces together, but I would still recommend reading the 1st one. There was a lot of talk of activity and characters, I imagine that came from book 1.
Overall I really enjoyed this and what made it even more fun from me was that it was based in an area where I grew up in West Tennessee! I thought the depiction of trauma and revenge was done really well, but I don’t have personal experience to relate to it. As a darker reader with pitch black and taboo reads being up in my favorites I got some satisfaction out of this one. The spice was fun as well!
My only complaint was there were times that I felt this book didn’t know if it wanted to be dark and triggering or sweet and cheesy. I felt as if it jumped from one extreme to another. Typically out of a book with dark themes as deep as this one- I don’t want too much light and fluffy thrown in.
Overall- I recommend this! Especially the audio! Brandon Francis and Andi Eloise are top tier!! Thank you High Gravity Productions for sending this ALC to me.

For a book that I started without having read Book 1, I have to say—not bad.
Right from the opening chapters, I was hooked. I was genuinely entertained and, despite having no context from the previous book, I never felt completely lost. The story did a great job of getting me up to speed without feeling overwhelming.
The audiobook narration by Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis was incredible! The range they brought to each character, along with the chemistry between them, had me completely invested from beginning to end.
The story itself is fairly straightforward, making it easy to follow, and I really enjoyed A.N. Davis’s writing. She did a great job portraying such a large cast of characters while giving their relationships and development room to grow. Hearing those moments brought to life by the narrators made the experience even better.
My only critique is the spice. While it was well written, there were moments where it felt a bit excessive and ended up overshadowing parts of the plot. I enjoyed those scenes, don’t get me wrong, but I think scaling them back just a little would have allowed certain emotional or plot-driven moments to shine even more.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable read, and it definitely made me curious to see what the other books in the series have in store.

This was a strong continuation of the first book, and I personally enjoyed it more. I listened to the audio of this one and it was phenomenal. This one was duet narration with Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis, and they brought so much emotion into the characters and the story which really elevated it.
This one jumps in right where book 1 left off. You definitely need to read book 1 first to understand what is going on and who all of the characters are. This book focused on Stacy and Chris and their journey. Stacy is strong and fierce and was definitely not going to let what happened define her.
In the first book I wanted more depth and I feel like we got that with this one! I really love the found family and the friend group and how they are there for each other no matter what. We still have darker components and additional trauma in this one too.

This is book 2 in the series and we are now following Chris and Stacey. They were first introduced in On The Edge. Stacey is Kelsey's best friend and Chris is Landon's best friend.
They have all been living together since they got Kelsey back from the mob but the mob boss is still missing. Chris and Landon have been searching for him along with a group that focuses on rescuing people that have been abducted for trafficking.

The Edge of Revenge picks up the intensity with a dark, fast-paced mix of revenge, survival, trauma, and romance. Stacey absolutely shines here. Watching her fight to reclaim her power after everything she endures was incredibly satisfying, and I was VERY happy to see certain people get the karma they deserved.
The story kept me hooked, and the chemistry was 🔥 and this crew definitely knows how to keep things interesting.

The Edge of Revenge drops you right in to the action and leaves you turning pages constantly. I love the relationship between Stacey and Chris, and the fact that despite previous issues, all they want is each other and to fix their relationship and make progression.
Stacey is left to manage being captured and finding her own ways to take control and take her fate into her own bad*** hands. She finds a way to win, and that's huge for her.
Please be mindful of trigger warnings! This book has some brutal scenes, but it's absolutely amazing! The spice is ON POINT.

Chris and Stacy’s story is packed with danger, suspense, and undeniable chemistry. My favorite part was watching Stacy find her power. 😈 She doesn’t just survive… she fights back. 💪🏻
Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis did a fantastic job bringing the emotion and intensity to life, making it easy to stay immersed in the story.
My only tiny preference (and this is absolutely a me thing 😬) is that some of the dialogue felt a little formal at times. I tend to prefer conversations that sound a bit more natural and relaxed, so a few more contractions would have made the dialogue flow even better for me. 🥴
If you love dark romance with a protective, morally gray hero, kidnapping, and high-stakes suspense, this audiobook is definitely worth a listen!😈

Honestly, Andie Eloise and Brandon Francis made this audiobook for me. Their narration was fantastic and kept me engaged from start to finish.
This dark romance is packed with suspense, drama, a badass FMC, and an MMC who would do absolutely anything for his woman. The story moves at a fast pace, and there is always something happening.
While the book tackles several dark themes, I felt some of them were glossed over, and I didn't connect with the main characters as deeply as I would have liked. Since this is the first book I've read in the series, that may have impacted my experience.
Overall, it was an entertaining listen, and I'm interested enough to go back and read book one.

Ughhhh I didn’t want it to end. Smooth story with a great flow! Characters were relatable and trauma representation was spot on and done respectfully.

Please check your trigger warnings on this book has some dark themes that may be triggering for some. This is the second boom in this series and need to read book one to fully understand the story. Chris is a man on a mission and will not stop until his mission is complete. He is such a complex man which was amazing to see his character development throughout the story. Stacey is so strong and sassy which I love. She knows what she wants and reads the room very well to figure out her next move. I wished one characters ending was dragged out alittle more but loved how he was ended. Such a good book but dark.

The second book in the series and it was a good one. Andie Eloise and Brandon Francis were amazing narrating this. I feel like they brought out the emotions that the characters were feeling and experiencing at any given moment. Plus their voices just worked very well together, they complimented each other perfectly. I also liked how they switched their tone to match the character that they were voicing effortlessly. Other than that the storyline itself was solid with plenty of spice. Overall, it was a fantastic audio that I enjoyed listening to. Thank you to High Gravity Productions and the author for a copy of this. All thoughts are my own and freely expressed.

This audio book starts with a bang. Yes, a bang in an office elevator! So freaking hot. The Edge of Revenge was narrated by Andi Eloise and Brandon Francis. Brandon Francis has one of the best sexy male voices and he is the perfect Chris. Andi Eloise is one of my favorite female narrators and is a prefect spicy Stacey. I loved what a complete bad ass Stacey was, she most definitely did what she had to do to save herself. But don’t worry, Chris is a broody ex-military vet who never stoped going after his girl. There is lots of action, smoking hot spice and drama.

. I am in love!! You follow a Bada** FMC and her taking charge of her own future. Stacey is a wild card who you fall in love with quickly. Her counter part Chris only wants his woman, and will do whatever it takes to have her.
