Back to the Elements

Rate this book
In the book, Back to the Elements, Marjorie finds a path to unburden a country’s insides eaten away. In the poem, “the burden carried”, she writes that it is “difficult to with-/stand, wither of the/willow in the sticks &/stones that break/the sensitive’s back in/hack of what never/should have happened”. Two nuts are in the nuthouse put in by the nuts as we disintegrate into the elements without honor and truth. The Oligarchs pull on the chains of tariffs as the stupid applaud. In the poem, “sun peeks in” she continues “…under the black puffs over-/head in the dread of a/day in chains rattling/under the canopy of/dwindling days in pull/of the gravity by which/we live-by as i drift in/the closed.....”, for “the universe is telling me/something in the verse” she now reveals to us.
