Need a quick escape into a magical world filled with banter, bargains, and sizzling tension?

🌿“If Ferngully was your whole personality as a kid and now you read monster romances, this one is for you...”

This spicy Ferngully-inspired monster romcom was such a fun, fast-paced adventure! It had everything you think it would… forest magic, fairy realms, witty banter, forced proximity, a bargain that turns into so much more, and yes, even a little kidnapping!

🌿 “I knew the moment I held my dagger to your throat you were meant to be mine.”

Finn and Queen Arden's chemistry was undeniable, but the slow-burn had me swooning. As they navigated a magical world full of danger, mystery, and humor, both discovered far more than they expected… Finn discovered more than the cure he was searching for, while Queenie stepped into her strength and power as a ruler.

🌿 “I can’t lose control with you, Queenie. Not now, not ever.”

Add in the tension, groveling, fated-mate vibes, earthy magic, and charm, and this novella packs a surprising amount of adventure and danger into a short read.

💫 Hunting for his Fairy Queen (A Monstrous Holiday, 4) by Charlotte Swan
Monster Romance (Ferngully Reimagining) | Bargain | Forced Proximity (Kidnapping) | Banter | Treasure Hunter x Fairy Queen | Hurt/Comfort | She’s the Monster | 175 pp | 4⭐

💫 Favorite Quote:
"I've found riches and splendor most men would sell their souls for. Hidden lands and jewels of inconceivable beauty. All of it is trivial compared to how much I want you. I ache, Queenie. I’m burning alive."

Finn's been searching a way to remove his curse and when he found one, he grabbed the chance and got transported to the fairy land. He struck a bargain with the Fairy Queen, Arden, to kill the Void and he'll get his wish.

Idk what I expected going into this book, but I guess it was a bit high because this book was lowkey a letdown for me compared to the author's other books.

I love the first half of this one. I kept on guessing about the curse, and been so intrigued with the fairy land but when they started travelling and going on the land, I lost interest. But it's a me problem because I really don't like when characters travel.

The tension between the characters were palpable, I'll give it that. Plus, Finn's being his own flirty self was very funny. Though I didn't really like how it was very insta-lusty for the most part. Once I got into Finn's POV when they were travelling, I got the ick and I lost interest.

Not the best Charlotte Swan book out there, but I will still keep reading her works.

Received an ARC & I'm choosing to leave this review.

Spice level: 1.5-2/5
The spice was good, wanted more, but it was still good. Fairly well written, all the body parts were where they needed to be (even the wings 🤣) & the spicy scenes were easy to follow & imagine.

Overall the book was a good short read, its a great palette cleanser. It is very whimsy & it was not hard for me to picture the characters or the realm with the way its written.

The Fergully retelling aspect of the book was intriguing, because who doesn't love a Hexxus (that is not the villain in this book). I'm going to be selfish & say I wanted a longer plot/storyline, but it was short & sweet, which was also perfect.

Short, sweet, and spicy! I absolutely fell in love with this story, the characters are so lovable and the story kept me needing more.

I really loved the chemistry and banter between Finn and Arden. Just the pull they had towards each other was really beautiful. And the mouth on Finn???? Delicious!!! I was giggling and kicking my feet, the banter and spicy time was so, so good.

And even though it's a novella, there still was a well written villain. Like the plot was plotting in the best way.

And of course the ending was just so beautiful. My heart was very happy reading this book.
