The last of the series, saying goodbye to the Sehgals was bittersweet, like letting go of your favourite family members. So yes, my expectations were sky high. And Sapna, she gave us our HEA and so much more with this one.
This is the story of two heirs who have spent years at war but were secretly in love with each other and are forced into a contract marriage for a billion-dollar empire. Akash and Shauna both want the same thing: Sehgal Media. But a buried secret changes everything, and suddenly they find themselves bound in a partnership neither of them wants. Sworn enemies, forced proximity, unresolved feelings… of course there will there be fireworks, right?
Shauna's a darling. Bold and ambitious, Sehgal Media is her only dream. Her heartbreak and vulnerability at losing out to Akash felt so real, but that doesn’t deter her. She fights for her right, both in the company and in Akash’s life. Seeing her get her rightful place is so satisfying. And her chemistry with Aaksh, hot n sizzling.
I loved Akash. His quiet strength, loyalty, and endless love for Shauna endeared him to me. Despite everything he lost, he built a successful life for himself. His confidence is just so sexy and his bickering with Shauna was a delight. Watching them butt heads was truly entertaining. But seeing him fight for Shauna and their love was the best. A swoon-fest.
But what makes this story special was the friendships, the sibling bonds, the family dynamics. The Malhotra siblings Vir, Dheer and Amara were superb. Also the individual bonds between all the characters stood out for me.
And then there’s Janak. Wily, wise, and always ten steps ahead of everyone else. His latest pairing, especially with that twist, was brilliant and showed just how well he understood the people he loved.
The suspense element was thrilling, and from shocking twists to the climax revelation, I was hooked.
And the ending was perfect. I loved seeing the entire Sapnaverse together under one roof. It was so emotional and exactly the goodbye this series deserved.
I can’t wait for what Sapna has in store for us next. Maybe a Mr. Malhotra?
A story about family bonds and second chances, this is 🫶.
