A Christmas Haunting

Rate this book
Now that Lucien’s curse is broken, the newly married couple is looking forward to a peaceful Christmas with no spirits vying for Mia’s attention. Those plans are quickly ruined when they receive an invitation to spend Christmas with Lucien’s estranged family at Winterbourne Hall.

As frost deepens over the family estate, Mia’s Necromancy stirs once more, revealing long-buried secrets of betrayal and murder. Someone in the house has blood on their hands, but the spirits aren’t the only ones who need their help. The youngest child of the family has a secret… she has magic and Mia must train the young girl while simultaneously solving a murder before midnight on Christmas Eve.

Mia and Lucien are thrust into a Christmas mystery, full of magic, mayhem, and a few stolen kisses under the mistletoe in this Necromance Christmas Novella that follows directly after the first book.

Fans of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, will delight in this hauntingly cozy Christmas tale.

(Necromance (and it’s novella) is recommended to adults 18+)

This is such a charming continuation of Mia and Lucien’s story. We follow them as they spend their first Christmas together—though instead of the peaceful, ghost-free holiday they (well… mostly Lucien) were hoping for, they stumble into spirits in need of help. The question becomes: can they endure their eerie stay long enough to unravel the mystery and help the spirits before time runs out?

This novella is a wonderfully cozy murder-mystery infused with real Christmas atmosphere. I loved meeting Mia and Lucien again, as well as the new characters introduced along the way. Cora Raven paints each scene vividly, the atmosphere and emotion practically drifting off the pages. And she delivers an especially lovely twist at the end.

“Because if anything happens to you, I’ll burn this entire estate to ash.” !!!!!!! I. Have. No. Words. !!!!!!!! Okay I do, this is HOW YOU WRITE A NOVELLA!!! ***You need to read Necromance first.***

I loved that the story continued. Mia and Lucien have a love that people dream and write books about. The story, the characters, the TWISTS, and magic, the holiday vibes. It’s the perfect mix of gothic and romance and mystery. Cora Raven you goddess. Give. Me. More.

I literally have no words for how much I loved this novella!
I loved being back in the Necromance world with our favorite characters and a few 'I wish I could mention characters'.
This was such a unique plot, and I adored the hell out of it.
I hope Cora will write more books in this world <3

Such a wonderful way to start the holidays. I honestly liked this more than the original—whimsical, adorable, and a perfect little continuation of Necromance.
