I love me a good story that involves dogs. Wally and Nitro were how their owners, David and Josh got closer and I was here for it. I’m also a sucker for a good age gap too.
I love how our trans character, Josh was still going through his own issues with himself figuring out himself. His parents suck and I was so happy when he laid it out to his sister. What she did was just wrong but I was so happy when she apologized.
I felt for David because he was so worried about his age since he was older. I loved how Josh repeatedly told him how his body did it for him with the softness and the gray hairs. Swoon my heart.
The tuna melt scene had me laughing.
If you’re looking for something for something sweet and very low angst with a trans rep, this book is certainly for you!
I need to go back and read book two because I honestly don’t know how I missed it.

This series has had some of the most interesting pairings, but a 25-30 year age gap between a transmasc porn star and the father of one of the porn star's coworkers, who met by chance in the wild because they both adopted rescue dogs at the request of the book 2 MCs (one of whom is the porn star son, who walks into the house the morning after). That is GOOF TROOP behavior, and I'm incredibly here for it.
I loved Josh's development as the book went on, in relation to his porn alter ego character, how he used to hide himself behind the barrier of River so people wouldn't get to know the real him, the reasons why he did that, and the slow letting it go now that he's found safety. I was admittedly less enamored with David, I thought he was a fantastic love interest for Josh, the way he rolled with everything that got thrown his way from Josh's self-sabotaging ass and handled every detail of Josh's trans identity with such grace. But I didn't feel like there was a lot of room for him as a character.
Ultimately, this series has a history of books that I find to be not the most well constructed, but still deeply entertaining, and this falls right into that same category for me, I can't wait to pick up the next one as soon as it comes out and complain about it too lmao

Oh, I loved this so much! I struggled to put my kindle down, because I just wanted to see what was going to happen between Josh and David. I loved their meet cute and how great the dogs were together. David kept surprising Josh(and me) with how open and accepting he was, and it was beautiful to see someone treat Josh with so much care and consideration while being so accepting. Their chemistry was great, but under the spark there was a love that was pure and gentle and I felt like that made all the difference!
This made me feel all warm and fuzzy! I loved how their relationship progressed. David was at times shy and so endearing. I loved how strong Josh was, but I also enjoyed his vulnerable moments. They had some great discussions and I loved reading their swoony declarations.
If you're in the mood for a lighthearted, age-gap story with funny and swoony moments and two cute dogs and their cute doggy daddies then this is the book for you.

This was sweet and I really loved the trans rep. Josh deserved to be so happy after everything he had been through. David was the perfect man for him. He was a considerate sweetheart who supported Josh’s choices.
It was nice to see Lukas and the rest of the guys be there for Josh be his family when he needed them. I thought Violet was an amazing sister who has been by Josh’s side through everything. She had good intentions even with her meddling.

I thought Jax would have been more involved in the story seeing how close he is with his dad and the fact that he had worked with Josh before. Overall, it was a pretty fluffy read with a good amount of spice.

I just loved this!
Josh and David are new dog owners who meet by chance because their dogs knew each other before being adopted. There's another connection but I won't spoil the surprise! It's just the sweetest, silliest little romance with David being so down for anything and everything Josh is. Josh has understandable anxiety that either the fact that he's trans or a porn star will kill their budding relationship but David is so unwavering in his support. I loved how honest David was that he wouldn't know how to handle seeing his boyfriend perform with someone else but he was willing to try and work on any issues that might come up. Their relationship felt really mature and open and I just loved being along for the ride. Plus, puppies!
Also it was delightful to see Josh and his bag of dicks - I mean tricks - show up and absolutely rock David's world. The sex was scorching hot.

I’ll admit that when I first started this book, I didn’t know how I was going to feel about it. I have read age gap books before but never anything with these specific dynamics attached but I ultimately ended up really liking this book. This was also the first book I have read that had a transgender main character and while there were a couple things that I had to research while reading, I can honestly admit that it probably won’t be my last. I love how real both of real characters feel and while there were probably some conversations or scenarios that weren’t entirely realistic, these characters were relatable. I love the way that their relationship starts and how the characters immediately clicked. I also love the support that Jax shows of their relationship and that we get to see the support that Josh gets from Asher and Blue. Although I wish that we would have gotten more about the platonic but touch focused relationship that blue and Josh shared because of blues need for comfort and connection. I also love the way that Josh continued to stand up for himself with his sister because I think that it would have been really easy for this character to be written as someone who never stood up for himself with Violet because she was the one person that had been there for him through everything. It was refreshing for Josh to take a different approach and because he had lost his other family he knew and recognized that he would be ok if he lost his sister if she didn’t support him not only because he didn’t need that negativity in his life but also because he had found other family that he knew would stand by and support his current choices. And can I just say that I love how easily David accepted the person that Josh is and how even though he originally struggled, he never tried to talk Josh out of his job but rather supported him to make the decision that was right for him. I love that Josh tried to push the boundary because it felt very realistic but I also love that Lukas and Blue talked to him about the reasoning for his decision which ultimately led Josh to retiring from being in front of the camera. Oh and I love the video that he specifically made not only for his fans but more so for David because he knew that he needed to explain not only for himself but for his relationship with David as well. And the spicy scenes!!!! I mean could they have possibly have gotten any better or any hotter?!?! Overall I think that it is safe to say that I enjoyed this book way more than I was expecting to!!! I have absolutely loved every second of this series even the parts that I hated because it was causing the characters pain. And I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series to drop next week and I can honestly say that I hope it is not the last one because I am not ready for this series to be over!!!!

Sweet, Comforting, and Full of Adorable Dog Dad Energy
Freeze Frame by E.M. Denning was such a genuinely sweet and comforting read. Between the awkward flirting, the dogs playing matchmaker, the low-angst relationship progression, and the soft emotional intimacy between David Fisher and Josh Dunn, this book ended up being ridiculously easy to fall into.
David immediately won me over with his lonely, slightly awkward energy. There’s something really endearing about a character who’s so used to isolation that even adopting a rescue dog feels like a massive emotional shift in his life. Watching him slowly open up through both his friendship with Josh and the growing connection between their dogs was honestly adorable.
And Josh? I loved him. The balance between Josh and River — his private self versus his public career persona — added a really thoughtful emotional layer to the story without ever making the romance feel overly heavy. What stood out most for me was how much this book centered trust and acceptance. David never treated Josh’s career like something shameful or something to “overcome,” and that emotional security made their relationship feel incredibly warm and safe.
The chemistry between them had that very E.M. Denning vibe too — soft, playful, emotionally intimate, and quietly sexy without tipping into unnecessary drama. Their connection developed naturally through friendship first, which made the romance itself feel believable and grounded.
And honestly, the dogs completely stole scenes more than once. Lara especially had massive “grumpy side character who secretly runs the entire story” energy and I loved every second of it.
This whole series really shines because of its warmth. Even when the characters are dealing with insecurities or vulnerability, the stories never lose that comforting feeling that these people are building something safe together.
If you love low-angst MM romance, dog-parent meet cutes, soft emotional intimacy, found family vibes, and sweet relationships with genuine acceptance at their core, Freeze Frame is absolutely worth the read.

Another beautiful story from E.M. Denning! Every single book in this series has become my favorite. Each one of these couples has had to deal with so many struggles and challenges yet they have found their way to a happy ending.
I loved Jax in the previous book. He was such a wonderful, kind human, so it was a no brainer that his dad would be the same. He raised Jax after all.
Throughout the whole book I was waiting for David to have some kind of flaw. I expected him to be some kind of jerk for at least a minute when he found out about Josh and his career. But nope. He became an even better man. A freaking unicorn!
When the term green flag was invented, he was the inspiration. There’s obviously no such thing as a perfect person, but David came damn close. The way he loved and cherished Josh was swoony as hell.
Josh had lost everything but his sister when he decided to transition. The only person that stood by him against everything was his sister Violet and his adult entertainment family. Wanting to be himself cost him the people who were supposed to love him no matter what.
When Josh met David, he never expected to find his soulmate. After all, a trans man falling in love and also being a corn star rarely ever works out. But Josh found real love as both. David not only loved him as a transgender man but also respected his work.

Freeze Frame, by EM Denning, is the third book in the Lights, Camera, Love series. I would strongly recommend reading book two in this series as it sets up the story and introduces some of the shared characters. This book follows David and Josh after a really sweet meet-cute involving their respective dogs Wally and Nitro in the local dog park. I really enjoyed this story and how their relationship developed. David was such a good person in general and specifically for Josh. He was the older of two and more confident in some areas and less confident in others, so they balanced each other out. David just knew when to give Josh space and the attraction between the two of them leapt off the pages. There was a lot of chemistry and heat between the two of them. Josh, for understandable reasons, had a lot a more to navigate and deal with during the story. It was heart-warming to see him fully become himself and embrace the next stage of his personal and professional life, as well as his place in his found family. The story around him and his sister’s relationship was really well written and moving. Every time, I have started one of these books, I have thought the story has gone to one way and instead it has gone in a completely different direction and this continues that theme. I think an interesting element here was exploring the impact of working in adult entertainment industry and the effect that has on family bonds. I liked this sweet story, and I think it is a good addition to the series and I would recommend reading it. 4.4/5 stars.

MY OPINION: I’ve read the other two books in this series and think it’s a wonderful group of stories. I look forward to more of them for sure. There is something about this group of people that appeals to me. The connection between the characters provides a wonderful backdrop to each couple’s life.
This is quite the remarkable story. If you are looking for something where the men are kind, maybe a little broken, but a lot willing to try, then this is the one for you. There are many things covered in this book. Like all of the couples, there is one or more porn actors. In this case, David meets a nice man at the dog park, who happens to be part of the same group as the other books.
Josh has worked hard to be happy with himself, learning to love who he is, accepting his body. He meets a sweet older guy, a 20+ year age gap that is open to love, but wasn’t looking. They click, and they take a chance. There are a few bumps along the way as they learn to trust each other and themselves.
Josh is very agreeable, and it makes for a very low-angst read. The few times he got rattled, you felt it because he accepts so many things so easily. This was genuinely a great addition to the series. There are lots of open-door spice. The characters are delightful, and generally, this is a book you will enjoy if you like any of the tropes. Not a lot of drama here, a surprise or two though. There are some great puppers as well, and who doesn’t love that?

E. M. Denning has done a fantastic job with this book and its characters. I loved both the main characters - David and Josh. David is uber sweet, understanding, respectful, kind and caring. And Josh is confident, sweet, talented and hardworking. David and Josh have a sweet meet cute at the dog park and their story begins from there. They both have their respective insecurities but they both overcome those feelings as they know the other is worth their effort. David makes Josh feel safe and comfortable by respecting Josh’s boundaries and being understanding under different circumstances. And Josh brings the companionship and warmth in David’s life. David is a huge Green Flag for how well he treats Josh, his son and his son’s boyfriends and never tries to change them or their decisions. David and Josh compliment each other in and outside the bedroom perfectly and are each others safe place and home. I adore Josh for standing up for David to his sister and for reassuring David when things go south that David comes before anyone else in his life and David is worth everything to Josh. This book has some beautiful and sweet moments, emotional conversations, spicy and hooot kinky smutty scenes and 2 adorable dogs. I definitely recommend this book if you like and enjoy reading a romance book with Trans Rep.

This was such a sweet, feel-good read with wonderful trans representation and plenty of heart.
Josh absolutely deserved every bit of happiness after everything he'd been through, and David was exactly the kind of partner he needed. He was patient, supportive, and handled every aspect of Josh's trans identity with so much care and respect. Watching Josh slowly let go of the walls he'd built around himself...especially through his porn alter ego, River and learn to feel safe enough to be seen was my favourite part of the story.
I also loved the found family aspect. Lukas and the rest of the crew really showed up for Josh when he needed them, and Violet was an amazing sister, even if her good intentions occasionally turned into meddling. And of course, the dogs! Wally and Nitro completely stole my heart and were the perfect way to bring David and Josh together.
I did find myself wanting a little more depth from David as an individual character. He was a fantastic love interest, but compared to Josh's growth and journey, he didn't feel quite as fully developed. I was also expecting Jax to play a slightly bigger role given his connection to both men.
Overall, though, this was a fluffy, spicy romance with great representation, lovable pets, and plenty of found family warmth.

I’ve really enjoyed this series so far, and I think this one might actually be my favorite of the three.
I loved the way David and Josh met at the dog park and how their dogs were what first brought them together. It made their relationship feel really natural and sweet from the start. I also thought the trans rep in this book was handled very thoughtfully. Josh’s character development was one of my favorite parts of the story—watching him grow more confident and comfortable in himself as Josh instead of his porn star persona River as he began to feel safe and secure with David was really sweet.
I do wish we had gotten a little more character development for David, especially surrounding some of his insecurities about the age gap, because I think there was room to explore that more. But overall, he was such a genuinely sweet character, and I loved the way he cared for Josh. He was steady, kind, and really brought out the best in him.
These two had amazing chemistry, and the spice was both hot and fun. I also liked that their dynamic felt a little different and adventurous, especially with Josh enjoying being more in control in the bedroom.

I've been loving this series. It's such a fun, low angst, feel-good series of books with characters that are sweet and easy to root for. This has probably been my favorite book so far. I really enjoyed this age-gap MM romance with the added trans representation. E.M. Denning never fails to deliver the equally sweet and spicy story that just leaves you with a smile on your face and a happy heart.
David and Josh are truly adorable and hot as hell together. I loved their dynamic and sweet meet-cute with the dogs at the park. Their age-gap never gave me the ick, and I enjoyed how they navigated their differences and relationship as they grew to know one another and came across some hurdles along the way. David is just the most wholesome endearing silver fox. The way he cares for and respects Josh and his body was so special. Josh is just such an amazing character. He's brave and strong, and unapologetically himself. They were such a fantastic match, and their story is truly heartwarming and beautiful.

EM Denning was one of the first authors I read in the MM genre (Everett from What He Hides OMG) but somehow in all the books I’ve gotten behind - don’t lie your tbr is ooc too). Anywho somehow this is the first book I’ve read in this series. Is this a stand alone? Yes. I will say there is some abruptness in the introduction of characters at the beginning if you haven’t read the previous books I assume, but if you just run with it it’s a non-issue. So we already know we love EM Denning’s writing, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I would love these characters, particularly Josh/River. He’s trans and the book really is his first real relationship and what that’s like with a partner old enough to be his father and when they figure out he’s had an online scene with David’s son (in the past). All of the characters are pretty emotionally mature so we figure out how to navigate relatively easily. Be prepared there are a lot of smexy times here. At times David is a little more …easy going?…than expected but you know sometimes we just really need that win, especially in books. Now, the real question is will I go back and read the first two? Yes, yes I will. Five stars for representation. Plus the dogs.

They first meet because of their dogs but then realize they have something else in common. David’s son, Jax, works with Josh, at his porn job. It’s a very funny situation that could have been a complete disaster, but all three characters manage to work it out. (It does turn out that even though Josh hasn’t been in the films for a while (he’s more behind the scenes now) he has had sex with Jax in a scene before. This is mentioned a few times so if that’s going to bother you this might not be the book for you. But there is no incest between father and son, or anything remotely approaching it. David knows what his son’s job is, but he never watches any of his work. And he asks Josh never to scene with Jax again if he ever decides to go back in front of the camera.)
I loved Josh and David both so much. They’re both such kind and caring men. They want happiness for each other and everyone else important to them more than anything.

This is the third book in E.M. Denning’s Lights, Camera, Love series that follows the love stories of porn stars/former porn stars, usually with people adjacent to the business. This story was really fun and sweet, with two characters that were so desperately looking for a loving and supportive partner, and didn’t feel good enough for the other. There’s so much awkwardness and second-hand embarrassment I was just smitten with these guys from the beginning. My enjoyment only grew as I rode along on their love story and saw how hard they struggled to keep others from tearing apart their fragile happiness with each other.

David is very single, does not really date and is now the doggie daddy to a reluctant rescue that he is trying to get to socialize at the dog park. But Wally is a reluctant pup until he is reunited with a fellow pup from the situation where he was rescued who was adopted by Josh. And David finds himself not only enchanted by the spark that playing with Nitro brings to Wally. He is also interested in Josh. Josh and David have another being in common as Josh works with David's son Jax. This is such a neat story of a pair of lovely souls that find connection and honestly work through what they need to make them work. They have interest, chemistry and are able to share what they need with one another which helps them to build something special with one another.

I rate this story 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars. This is the third book in this wonderful series. David & Josh met at the dog park, through their rescue dogs from the same hoarding situation that featured in book 2. Despite their age gap, there was instant chemistry, followed by awkwardness when they found out they both know Jax, and where they know him from. David is completely accepting and understanding about Josh’s work in the industry, making him Josh’s perfect partner. In fact, at times it seemed as if David was a little too perfect and I wished he displayed a slight flaw or two. Also, there were a couple of intimate scenes that didn’t resonate with me. Overall, though, I recommend this book.

This series has been so fun and Jax's Dad getting a book with Josh is perfection. Josh is very much true to himself but being a trans man and darling is complicated. Everyone sees him differently, and the fears surrounding coming out to a romantic partner are quite difficult, as the results have been varied. David is a gem but he's not very experienced and Josh is a completely new venture. They definitely do not get it right, they struggle to communicate despite their dogs being besties. It takes some serious truths, a willingness to listen, and open hearts for their HEA, but they get it and earn it.

Wally & Nitro steal the show!! LOL
David and Josh were so unbelievably sweet together! I adored this story quite a bit. I loved David from the last book and finally seeing him get his HEA was just icing on the cake. It took a minute to figure out who he and Josh were but I liked the connection. I do wish we had seen him and Josh actually get a chance to talk to Ethan and Micky at the diner tho, that would have been a cool chat. Does Hannah like Violet? Will we get a short story about them, pretty please?

This is a wonderful age gap M/M romance. David is probably the most accepting and kind hearted older man. The perfect match for Josh. It has not been easy for Josh but his alter ego River has gotten him through some of the worst times in his life. His sister has been an enormous help but she has trouble dealing with the reality of Josh's life. It's not an easy time and it's hard for Josh to trust but his love for David and David's never ending support brings them to such a nice place. It's a great romance! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Great addition to a great series. As in previous books, this story is very sweet, low angst, a bit spicy. Both characters, David and Josh, are very cute, and go so well together. I really enjoyed reading about their chemistry, their relationship. I loved the meet-cute, the dogs, the trans rep, the found family. It's easy to read and entertaining.
This is book 3 of the series, and can be read as a standalone but probably would be even more enjoyable after reading the first two books, that I also recommend.

Freeze Frame was such a sweet, heartfelt addition to the Lights, Camera, Love series. I loved how David and Josh’s relationship grew naturally from their dogs’ friendship into a trusting, romantic connection. David’s patience and care, paired with Josh’s vulnerability and strength, made their story feel authentic and deeply emotional.
The trans representation was meaningful and handled with care, and the dogs added a charming, lighthearted touch. Low-angst, warm, and romantic, this one stayed with me long after finishing.

I loved Josh and David as a couple and the fact that they met through their newly adopted rescue dogs was fantastic. I'm a huge fan of age gap romances and this one hit just the right notes for me with David's insecurities about his age and how Josh patiently and lovingly overcame those. Josh was a beautifully drawn character still figuring out his trans identity and how to balance who he was at work with who he was outside of that. Everything here fit together so well it's become my favorite book so far in the series.
