Higher rating this time, because i like this kind of future planning, or even if its simply the writer making up his plot based on the chapters he already wrote, it doesn't matter it was great, i read the war twice, because i wanted to see it with a new eye after the revelation in the end. A Big Dangerous Event happens this volume, actually its like 3 events or something, First An S Rank Gate shows up in the middle of Tokyo, typical Sung Jinwoo, not even considering going because he is busy with the second huge event that happens this volume.. Japan is lacking in manpower since they lost 7 S rank hunters in the Jeju Island Raid, where their target was to actually just let the Korean S rank hunters die. Now they desperately need help, that they bought the help of a despicable S Rank national Russian hunter, he is treating them with complete contempt, just for the fact that he knows how powerful he is and how desperate they are for his help, by now it's obvious all the national level hunters are probably assholes, who care only about money and power. Second Big Event, is sung going back to the double dungeon, where he finds The statue holding the commandments was the only real thing in the dungeon all along not the huge god, honestly for me this seemed like poking fun at Moses and the ten commandments, that it was always just Moses and the Big Great Scary god was fake. Again i was right last review about another prediction, sung jinwoo had the power of the former monarch of shadows inside him all this time, the system was designed to make him stronger to prepare him to host the monarch who will take him over with the final gift the black heart, but sung controls it! Gaining 100k mana, his legions are now immortal, and who knows if this makes him have more summons overall, like does that play factor like the intelligence stat? Will he be able to reserve more shadows and summon more shadows at the same time? specially after we saw what the monarch of shadows is capable of. Third Big Event, is the Big War between the magic beasts, the silver warriors, the shadow host, and the Demon clans. The battle starts between the magic beasts (who were not under the control of the monarch of shadow) and the silver warriors who pretty much look like freaking angels. when the silver warriors were winning the battle, the monarch of shadows intervened, and raised the shadows of the dead magic beasts, and then the tide was turned, the silver warriors were now being wiped out. Mid battle, the Demon armies enter the battle, and attack the shadow armies, along with the magic beasts, we learn that this was a betrayal of the monarch of shadows by the demons, the cause we do not know as its said in a demon language. while the monarch of shadows did lose most of his troops, he won the battle, and killed the demon king baran, but that wasn't the end, the silver warriors are back, and now the monarch is alone, where he will probably die by their hands. Now with what just happened sung jinwoo finally has the real power of the monarch of shadows, and he can probably now fight the monarch of ice and the other monarchs, hopefully one by one, because it would be ridiculous if he fought them all together and won. Now for my theory on the system, which is most probably the truth. I think the system programmed the entirety of the demon Castle, it was just a copy made by the architect to make sung jinwoo relive the triumphs of the monarch of shadows. It also goes back to the test where he first got the monarch of shadows class, he literally killed dozens of steel soldiers that are the closest lookalikes to the silver warriors! This volume also explains why the magic beasts never considered Sung Jinwoo as a human all along, because he never was just a human, a part of a monarch was inside him. Baran was probably a monarch himself, a monarch of demons perhaps? Along with the monarch of ice and the other monarch who we didn't learn his powers, we don't know much else. The End, Sung Jinwoo, takes over the system, locking the architect out before killing him. But not before the Architect gets away with one last prophecy!
When the pillars of fire supporting the skies are erected... An unavoidable death will come and find you.
Ughhh omgg😭😭😭 im gonna miss this manhwa so much, i cant!! Jinwoo was such a good mc, a morally grey dude who just wanted to level up ending up to be the one who brought everything together. Truly a masterpiece🫶🏽
BUT THERE ARE BONUS CHAPTERS I SEE🫣 I SHALL CONTINUE EHEHEH🙇🏽♀️
i needed to sit for a couple days before i wrote a proper review because i needed some time to fully take in this amazing series and that epic conclusion.
this is about to have some HUGEEEEEEEE spoilers!!
i did not expect it to end the way it did. at first i was feeling kind of mixed about it, because what do you mean he's using the cup of reincarnation and everyone will forget who he is and what he's done for the world??? it felt like MY world was crashing down because this man went through absolute hell plus haein would forget about him too!!! 😭😭💔💔 but quickly (like 5 seconds later) after feeling mixed about it, i was like, this is so true to his character and it wouldn't have made sense any other way. right from the beginning, he wanted to level up not for himself but so he could protect the ones he loves and the world. i think a lot of people feel he comes across as cold and morally grey but he's the complete opposite in my eyes. he's only ever wanted to help the world and that's why he chose to do it solo because he didn't want anyone else to get hurt because of him. he's just not the most social okay 😂 but he is the most selfless person out there. and with all the lives that were taken because of the war, of course if he had the chance to change that, he would. he didn’t even give it a second thought either too, he knew that’s what he wanted to do immediately 🥺 he doesn't only change it, he makes it so the world doesn't even need hunters in the first place. however that's because HE FIGHTS FOR 27 YEARS ALONE IN A DIFFERENT DIMENSION NON STOP SO THE MONARCHES COULDN'T ATTACK EARTH 😭 so he's already been through hell, fighting to get a cure for his mom, saving the literal world and DYING (plus way more), and now there's this!!
so anyway, i think the ending just fully proved more how amazing jinwoo is as an mc.
THE ENDING WITH JINWOO AND HAE MADE MY HEART IS SO COMPLETE 💕💖💗 yall do not understand how happy i was that the author gave us that at the end.
this is the most fun (and emotional) time i've had in a long time reading. it will forever be something i remember and constantly reread. this has become one of my favorite series of all time and i'm just so thankful i read it!! 😭
i will never move on...
side note: i need to mention jinwoo’s shadow monarch form BECAUSE HOLY SHIT THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME 🔥 (i can't wait to see that animated can you imagine!!!! it's going to be sick af 🔥)
__
i can’t believe i am finished the main story. rtc when i gather my thoughts and stop crying 😭

The big final boss battle in this penultimate volume is a bit of a murky mess with lots of bombast, posturing, sound effects lettering, cameos by unnamed secondary characters, and an ending that is true to the video game inspiration of this series -- -- but may be off-putting to some casual readers.
But this book has always been about an extremely overpowered protagonist, so I'll just roll with it like I did with Superman comics (and the second movie) when I was a kid.
I can't imagine what the final volume can possibly add to this one since it feels like a solid conclusion, but I'll certainly be back to check it out.

Now the book is released, but the English version for Kindle still has to be released. But this was my third re-read of the series. Now onto the Side-stories.
This book is to be released on 28 Nov, but since it's a Webnovel, I read it earlier in March and re-read it now. The story ends at Chp. 179, and then there are 21 chapters covering the side stories and the further adventures of our hero. I would now be continuing to read and finish the series once again and would read it again. So till next time let's Keep on Reading.
I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more. You should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.

Side Stories: ch180-ch192 my heart is aching, it's over. i feel like crying tears of happiness, that ending couldnt have been more perfect especially with the side stories🥹🥹 i truly have no words to add on about how much this series means to me i mean all my reviews of the previous arcs/volumes say it all too
the last manhwa to make me feel this way tower of god (which is still ongoing) but until that ends, solo leveling has definitely taken the place of being one of my favourite manhwas/mangas ever. sure, the plot isn't all that unique and is pretty basic but to have a basic plot and still manage to capture the hearts of readers in feeling so many different emotions and not get bored once??? that takes skill for sure and solo leveling so did that. and to add onto that the art is absolutely god tier--i am SO buying all the manhwa volumes once theyre all released
it hurts to know that ive completed this manhwa, even though i made myself slow down and stretch out the journey longer i knew it was only a matter of time and now that time has come. jin-woo is an amazing and compassionate warrior, friend, husband and father and truly i will be manifesting that there's a manhwa adaption with his son, suho🤞 beru has to be my favourite character of the series (sorry jin-woo, but you have to understand) and who would've thought that a giant ANT would be my favourite character bye-
but knowing that jin-woo was able to get his happiness and the love he deserves with all his friends and family gives me life, so many moments made me tear up. hae-in and jin-woo are perfect for each other and the fact that jinchul also has his memories of the previous timeline has me so happy 🥹 even though jinho doesnt, he and jin-woo still got to be best friends like brothers once again so nothing missed there <3
i was going to post all my favourite panels from the side stories but there's definitely no space for that in this review--so i'll leave that for when the last volume drops! edit: nvm im too lazy now to go searching & uploading because there's A LOT
ill keep at least one of beru though (actually made me emotional seeing beru so happy over suho's drawing of him😭🫶)
This all just goes back to my inability to DNF but I truly wanted to know how this would wrap up. I should’ve just listened to my gut feeling a few volumes ago; it didn’t get better.
In the end, I’d have a tough time saying if this was worth my time. Many of the final reveals feel lacklustre and fail to provide proper explanations. The characters remain surface level, and the story becomes a loop of fights with a predetermined winner.
This manhwa has an amazing set up and beautiful art style, but there’s not much else to it.
I honestly hated this arc. He never loses, he keeps getting more powerful, but it was fun to read the fight scenes and some of the lore arcs were fun but he resets the goddam world and the only consequence is that people don't know he's powerful. That's it. He still exists. He still has a life. He has his family back. No one dies. He just... isn't known as powerful. That felt like it kneecapped what was a good ending.

I adore the characters and the action, the artwork was phenomenal but sadly I just didn't like the direction and conclusion of the story... I could see why it went that way, but personally I didn't vibe with it. Aside from that, I absolutely loved this manhwa!
Edit: After reading the side stories (from the end of this to chapter 200) I've got a newfound liking for the ending. The side stories provide the closure I needed and give a someway happy ending for everyone, as well as opening up a new story following Jinwoo's son, Soohoo. I love the shadow monsters, especially my little baby Beru. Cha Hae-in is fairly cool, though her character definitely could've been developed more. Overall, I'm sad I've finished reading, but glad I finally got around to it!
LOVED THIS BOOK!!! The story ended better than a lot of other manga/anime I always get nervous when an ending is coming because I’m worried about a repeat of the Bleach incident. But this story tied up nicely and leaves plenty of room for imagination. Wondering how the next few books are going to go and lwk scared. 🙃
I feel like I might lose it with having to wait to see what happens next after this Volume. This was a really good read, I’m slightly confused with the ending, but I’m sure it’ll all make sense in the next Volume. Can’t wait to see the next installment to see what Jinwoo does next.
IM CRYING. THIS VOLUME WAS JUST TOO MUCH😭😭. Sung Jinwoo the man that you are. Defeating the monarch of destruction and instead of wanting recognition and fame chose to go back in time to redo everything so everyone he loves, the ones who were lost during the battle will be alive😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. SUNG JINWOO MY MAN😭😭😭😭😭😭. That ending was so good like genuinely. He chose to stay on earth for the people he loved even if they don’t remember him and what he did😭😭😭. Cha Haein and him at the end was too romance coded😭. PERFECT MANWHA P.s its been 10 minutes since I’ve finished it and I MISS IT ALREADY😭😭😭😭 SUNG JINWOO😭😭😭😭
it hurts to know that ive completed this manhwa, even though i made myself slow down and stretch out the journey longer i knew it was only a matter of time and now that time has come. jin-woo is an amazing and compassionate warrior, friend, husband and father and truly i will be manifesting that there's a manhwa adaption with his son, suho🤞 beru has to be my favourite character of the series (sorry jin-woo, but you have to understand) and who would've thought that a giant ANT would be my favourite character bye-
Not really the biggest fan of how this wrapped up tbh. That doesn’t take away from how fun the entire series as a whole has been. I felt like this final volume was rushed and didn’t give proper resolution to some of the best characters in the story.
My review will encompass the entire series, as I have viewed this more as a continuous story than a volume. I did read it by chapter and just marked it on GoodReads by volume, so how I got to this point makes sense.
First and foremost, I did think this was a good series overall. I did start out watching the anime and an unfortunate habit of mine is that I tend to get frustrated with a cliffhanger and will start reading the manhwa. So that is why we are here. I will say that after the arc, I did lose interest in the story for a little bit. That was the fight that determined for me how far he had come and how the rest of the story would go. was probably one of the best summons in the story, even better than Igris. He was a great side character in a story that lacks great side characters.
That is one of my biggest gripes with the story, despite the ending also not being my favorite. The characters that we meet throughout the story are interesting and easy to enjoy. Do I remember their names half the time? No, but I do remember their faces. was a character I really thought the author would do more with, but they existed for about five chapters and were never mentioned, or even thought of, again. This is a recurring theme, where characters are a big deal for a little bit, then never again. I can admit that I do appreciate the simplicity of not having to worry about side plots, but it would give the story some complexity that would make it a top-ten story for me.
And then there's the whole explanation for everything that is occurring. Everything gets explained and by the end, I had a pretty good grip on the explanation. Unfortunately, I kind of wish there was some mystery left. That is something I have come to appreciate in stories. Something the Hunger Games did well is it left several questions unanswered about the world because it wasn't necessary to answer them for the plot. It didn't just leave questions about the characters and what their lives looked like after the Revolution. It didn't answer things about the rest of the world, how Panem was founded initially, or details about the first Revolution. In Solo Leveling, I feel like all my questions got answered, and the potential questions I might have had about the I don't really care about. Now I will say it is slightly unfair of me to compare a Western novel written in a dystopian future to a Korean manhwa based on a Korean light novel based on the modern day. But I think my points still stand.
Overall, if you wanna sink some time into reading it, it is an easy read and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has been thinking about it. It's just not the best story I have ever read, and that's okay.
This is what I like about Solo Leveling, MC didn’t became an OP in 1 day like all of these were his hard work. Literally teared up seeing his old self and realizing how far he'd come, all the stages he went through to get to where he is now.
"The stronger the light, the darker the shadow" 🤌🏻
Jinwoo fighting the dragon monarch itself was already nerve-racking. And when he will turn back time to shoulder the weight of war by himself, for the sake of humanity!! Truly the G.O.A.T. TBH at first I didn't like the idea of turning back time even though so many had died but now I can confidently say that I am really happy he did, seeing him enjoy his time like normal was so touching he really deserved that little holiday.
Ahh I can't believe it's ended. This was such a good manhwa and I’m glad I invested my time into it. Thank you Solo Leveling. I’ve enjoyed this masterpiece a lot from the beginning to the end. Throwing myself into a fantasy world kept my darker thoughts at bay. I’m so happy to have been able to see this manhwa adaptation until the end. 💜
Plus This Manhwa had some one of the best drawn fight scenes ever.... everything looks so epic. Knowing that the artist was passed away and reading this make me sad... Such a loss for art community that the one who created this masterpiece is now gone. 🕊️RIP "Jang Sungrak"🕊️ Hopefully that the world you've been taken into be kind to you and to your health. Wishing that the next journey ahead of you be peaceful. You've worked hard and we readers and your fans have greatly appreciate your effortss.

The last thing I saw before I went bed was the email from Amazon that this had been delivered. So first reaction... F*ck. It's been a long way to six weeks. Anyways, love the cover. Kinda looks like he fused with Beru. Winding down with no cliffhanger, just an epilogue to go feel. Starts off with Jinwoo's warning to get away from the gates and ends with a reunion. Between that its shadow vs dragons. Sucks that the only one aware what was going on was Norma. Looking forward to the next one.

“Run as fast as you can!” …and so the big battle begins in this volume! But will Sung Jin-woo and his shadow soldiers be enough to fight and defeat the enemy?
Oh lord, the illustrations of the battle was spot on. The battle with the dragons was absolutely my favorite. Speechless.
Yup!! After hearing about this for months, I finally gave in and read it. Now, I owe an apology to everyone who told me it was amazing and I refused to believe them—because this has become one of my favorites! And that’s saying something since I’m not usually a big fan of action manhwa.
