Obsessed doesn’t even begin to cover it.
I went into this expecting a paranormal cowboy romance. What I got was vampires, wolves, dryads, humans, ranch politics, danger, yearning so intense it should probably be regulated, and an alpha hero whose entire personality can be summed up as:
“MY MATE.”
And reader? I ate.
Every.
Single.
Word.
Gemma has taken everything I loved about the Diamond Back Ranch world and thrown a supernatural twist at it. We have forbidden romance, fated mates, found family, forced proximity, rival alphas, ancient magic and a Yellowstone-inspired ranch setting full of werewolves and secrets.
Clark is the kind of MMC who sees one threat directed at his woman and immediately enters touch her and I’ll kill you mode. Which, as a community, I think we’ve all agreed is excellent for our health.
The chemistry between Clark and Elin was ridiculous.
The tension? Immaculate.
The yearning? Criminal.
Every interaction had me kicking my feet and whispering “oh we’re DOWN BAD.”
My only complaint is that I have finished it and now must somehow continue living my life.

Having really enjoyed Gemma Morr’s previous cowboy duology, I couldn’t wait to dive into Sacrifice Me, and it definitely didn’t disappoint.
This is an action-packed paranormal romance filled with werewolves, vampires, and dryads, creating a rich fantasy world that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The pacing is fast, with plenty of twists, danger, and tension, balanced nicely with a swoony alpha wolf romance.
The side characters were memorable, well-developed, and added so much depth and humour to the story. I found myself just as invested in them as I was in the main couple.
The romance had great chemistry, and the alpha wolf hero delivered all the protective, possessive vibes you’d expect while still allowing room for emotional development.
Overall, Sacrifice Me is an exciting, addictive read with fantastic world-building, compelling characters, and enough action to keep the pages turning. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!

Having already read Gemma Morr’s previous books, I was really excited to see what exactly a cowboy/paranormal romance would be like. Turns out it’s something fresh, different, and overall just so much fun. I loved seeing her branch out into paranormal romance while still keeping the heart of what I enjoy most about her writing. It still has that cowboy charm, but adding werewolves into the mix gave it a whole new energy, and honestly, I enjoyed every moment of this story. It was such a fun read.
The Yellowstone inspired ranch setting paired with werewolves was far more addictive than I expected. Elin is a determined FMC with an intriguing backstory (don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything😜), and from the moment we meet her and discover the role she’s been set up to fulfil, I was completely invested. Clark is everything I want in an alpha hero: protective, loyal, and impossible not to root for. Their chemistry develops at a satisfying pace. I wouldn’t say it felt overly rushed either, but take that with a pinch of salt because romances do tend to move a little faster in the paranormal universe. 😂 I found myself equally invested in both the romance and the mystery surrounding the story.
One of my favourite aspects was how effortlessly the ranch atmosphere blended with the supernatural elements. Rather than feeling like two separate ideas forced together, they complemented each other perfectly, creating a world that felt both familiar and excitingly new. I honestly wasn’t sure how well cowboy romance and paranormal romance would work together, but Gemma Morr absolutely made it work.
If you loved the blend of romance, humour, and werewolf lore in Ali Hazelwood’s Bride and Mate, I think you’ll have a great time with Sacrifice Me. While Gemma Morr has her own distinct writing style, I think readers who enjoy protective alpha heroes, paranormal romance, addictive relationship dynamics, and a touch of humour will find a lot to love here. The banter between Elin and Clark genuinely had me giggling at points, and the comedic timing was spot on.
The only reason this wasn’t quite a five star read for me is that I would’ve loved a little more time with some of the supporting characters and a bit more room for a few of the bigger reveals to breathe. I also found one of the major twists a touch predictable, as I’d pieced it together before the reveal. I think there may have been one or two too many little hints along the way, so the payoff didn’t quite have the impact it could have had for me. That said, it never stopped me from eagerly turning the pages.
Overall, Sacrifice Me is a fantastic start to Gemma Morr’s venture into paranormal romance. It’s fresh, fun, romantic, and the cowboy/werewolf concept works so much better than I ever imagined. If this is the direction she’s planning to take alongside her cowboy romances, I’m completely on board. I can’t wait to see where she takes this world next, and I’m already looking forward to whatever she writes next. And if love to see more of Elin’s BFF! Sacrifice Me releases September 10th

This is my first time reading anything by this author. I'd seen and heard a lot about her cowboy series before, so when I saw Sacrifice Me was available to request on Netgalley, I jumped at the chance.The first thing that attracted me was the cutest cover, and then I found out it was cowboys mixed with vampires and werewolves. I absolutely love both genres, so I was really excited to dive in. Everything I love about cowboy and paranormal romance was here and more!
Let me tell you, I had such a blast reading this. It was so much fun! As soon as I started, I knew I was going to love it. It's an easy, addictive read that leaves you completely satisfied and eager for more.If you enjoyed Bride and Mate by Alli Hazelwood then I think you'll love this too.
Clark is our utterly hot cowboy ranching alpha.Sex appeal just oozes out of him, plus bonus pounts he plays guitar and sings in a band . Holy moly i didnt think he could get any hotter .And to top it off he has to be the biggest green flag ever , just when you think hes going to go all 'youve done me wrong ?' he goes and shows us how freaking understanding and level headed he is .Melt my heart right now cos i am done . I adore him and loved every minute he was on the page.
Elin is our hybrid vampire/dryad, constantly conflicted between both sides of herself. She's spent years hiding part of who she is, terrified of rejection after experiencing it from her own clan , but beneath all that trauma she's spunky , full of sass and witt .The things that come out of her mouth had me giggling ,shes really got no filter .
The chemistry between these two was delicious, and their banter was fantastic. The will they wont they had me gripped to my kindle .The back and fourth banter was fantastic .
The internal conversations between Clark and his pack had me howling no pun intended! They brought so much humour to the story.The side characters were all incredibly entertaining, and I loved that Elin finally found people who accepted her for exactly who she is.
Overall, Sacrifice Me was such a fun, entertaining paranormal romance with heaps of humour and heart. I can't wait to read more from this author. I am officially declaring that i have added her other books to my tbr hehe

I need to wrap my head around this one. I am ruined. This was perfection.Wow, what an incredible book. I've loved Gemma's books ever since Untamed Heart, and at this point, if she writes it, I'm reading it. Then she has the audacity to give us Sacrifice Me, where we've got a ridiculously hot alpha living on his ranch, raising horses, dealing with an upcoming binding to a woman he doesn't even want, and just trying to hold his life (and his pack) together. On the other side is Elin, a hybrid who's barely surviving and is willing to risk everything to uncover what happened to her mother and all the other women going missing. And honestly? When people say this is Yellowstone crossed with Bride, they aren't exaggerating.

Aaaaah, I still can’t get over how good this book was.

The paranormal x cowboy romance I've been waiting for! Rom-com vibes but with fur and teeth 🐺🦇. This is full of slow, smoldering heat and the unraveling of a twisting plot which is building for a climax in later books, I hope 👀.
This book was easy to read and invest in. I was hooked from the beginning and steamed through as the story unraveled. One twist I did not see coming 😂. The build-up between Clark & Elin was 😘👌, the close proximity, the banter, "touch her or die," the heat—just perfect. I really enjoyed all the characters; they all fulfilled their roles. I loved the ones I should and hated the villains.
One thing I adore about Gemma's books as there is always an alternative edge. I LOVE that alternative FMC/MMC takes center stage in a book, especially one surrounding the paranormal. The playlist is on point as well. 🖤

Okay, I didn't even know how much I needed a paranormal cowboy book until I read this! It was. So. Good!
Being described as a mix of 'Yellowstone' and Ali Hazelwood's 'Bride' was a pretty perfect description for this book, mostly leaning on the 'Bride' side of things- I yearned for a more western/ ranchy atmosphere akin to Elsie Silver's books, but regardless, it still had horses, a ranch full of wolfy cowboys and a beautiful setting.
I really enjoyed the paranormal elements in this book, especially with the range of species, from werewolves, vampires and dryads. The plot mostly focused on the romance between Clark and Elin, which was honestly so full of banter, chemistry and, obviously, the fated mates thing. I shipped them so much, and adored all their scenes together. Elin is badass, she can hold her own and takes no shit, same goes for Clark, but he's so caring and kind too. Ugh, he was just the perfect alpha werewolf.
The story was great, but at times it did feel like the mystery was put on pause for the sake of the romance. It sets up a path but diverts, then brings more things that get focused on more than the original issues- such as the impending battle between species or the dryads incoming attack on Elin. It just...never really goes anywhere. We see nothing of them until the end, even though the beginning seems like they'll be more of a threat. Same as the looming prescence of the vampires. I didn't mind, but it just felt like the book changed direction and swayed off course.
Overall, this was such a fun read. It definitely reminded me just how much I love paranormal romances, and was a fast paced, spicy, romantic and wonderful book!

Elin is sent to the Yellowstone pack as a human sacrifice, tasked with secretly gathering information about her mother's disappearance. If she takes down a few wolves along the way, so be it.
Then she meets Clark, the alpha of the pack. He spends his days working on his ranch and dealing with pack responsibilities, and he does not seem like the monster she was led to believe he would be.
As the full moon rises, things begin to shift, both literally and emotionally, and Elin and Clark grow closer, despite the fact that he is expected to be bound to another for political reasons. Clark had convinced himself he would never find his mate.
They resist their feelings for as long as they can, but the pull between them becomes impossible to ignore.
My Review
Put vampires, dryads, wolf shifters, and ranch life in a book and you've got everything I love. This was amazing.
I'm a sucker for a wolf shifter anyway, and Clark was HOT. And he plays guitar and sings in a band?
What more could you want? He's pretty much perfect.
I loved Elin too. She's sassy, quick witted, and her smart mouth was always bound to get her into trouble.

My Review
Put vampires, dryads, wolf shifters, and ranch life in a book and you've got everything I love. This was amazing.
I'm a sucker for a wolf shifter anyway, and Clark was HOT. And he plays guitar and sings in a band?
What more could you want? He's pretty much perfect.
I loved Elin too. She's sassy, quick witted, and her smart mouth was always bound to get her into trouble.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a cowboy romance girl. Give me vampires, werewolves, witches, monsters… absolutely. Cowboys? Not so much.
So when I found out Gemma Morr had written a cowboy romance with werewolves, vampires, dryads, and a whole supernatural cast, I thought… okay, now you’ve got my attention!
And honestly?
That was NOT a cowboy romance… well, not in the way I expected!
Was there a ranch? Yep.
Horses? Of course.
Cowboy hats and boots? Absolutely.
But that’s about as cowboy as it gets. Instead, I got a fantastic paranormal romance packed with werewolves, vampires, dryads, forbidden love, pack politics, jealousy, secrets, and enough sexual tension to have me rooting for Elin and Clark from the very beginning.
Poor Elin absolutely broke my heart. Her struggle with who and what she is was so emotional, and it’s easy to understand why she feels like she doesn’t belong anywhere. Then along comes Clark, the gorgeous Alpha wolf (who just so happens to be a cowboy) and the sparks start flying.
The chemistry between these two was fantastic, but it wasn’t all romance. The different species, rivalries, and hidden secrets kept the story moving, and I was completely invested to see how it would all play out.
I went into this expecting to tolerate the cowboy bits because of the paranormal elements.
Instead, I ended up loving the whole thing…

If you’re looking for a paranormal romance that’s a little different, with plenty of supernatural drama and a cowboy setting that actually works, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.

I am a big lover of paranormal romance books. Its the genre that got me into reading, Hello Twilight, and its the genre that always gets me most excited! There is just something about vampires and werewolves in our world that just makes me so happy!
Elin is struggling with life after her mum disapears, as anyone would. Her bond with Lena just makes me so happy, i love it when the FMC has a ride or di e bestie! Elin is strong and she is so funny, i love her humor so much!
Clark is 100% a hot Alpha Cowboy Daddy! ooooof yes please! I loved how he is with his pack, how they respect him and help him get his moments or normalltiy while being Alpha.
Those two togther are amazing, i love how they immedictly just connect and their humors just bounce togther! Its not insta love, but its just about. Theyy fight thier feelings but nature calls and when it did i kicked and screamed and giggled!
I really love the background story of the conflict between the different speices and how everything going on is part of a bigger picture! I cannot WAIT for the next book! I hope i don't have to wait long! Especilly if it’s about a certain two others i shall not name heheheh!

I absolutely adore Gemma Morr's cowboy series Diamond Back Ranch, and as someone who isn't normally a romantasy or paranormal girlie therefore was nervous to read this one - I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book! I will admit that a book with werewolves as the main element would normally have me rolling my eyes! The paranormal elements were easy to follow, the plot kept me engaged, and I appreciated that we still got a touch of those cowboy vibes that I love from Gemma's books 🤠 yeehaw!
The spice was plentiful and the length felt just right. The suspense added a lot to the story, although there were moments where it stepped aside a little too much to make room for the romance. Thankfully, the plot always managed to find its way back on track and deliver the tension I was looking for.
Overall, this was a fun, steamy romantasy with enough mystery and suspense to keep the pages turning, even for readers who don't usually reach for paranormal romance.

I love Gemma Morr's Diamond Back Ranch series a lot, so was excited to try something a little different from her. Why not take a cowboy romance and throw in werewolves...?
This was fun and definitely put a fresh spin on the sub-genre. I won't lie, it took me a while to get into the world building and various creatures involved. This might be more of a me problem, as I don't read a huge amount of fantasy (and when I do, I tend to lean towards light world building), so i had to Google what some things were to understand them. Once I got past that side of things though, it was fun and engaging - plus, I think someone else would likely not have the same issued I did at the start anyway.
The banter was exactly as good as I've come to expect from Gemma Morr - if not, even better because there were so many other elements involved.
I loved Elin and the way she approached everything despite how complex her situation was as she struggled to find her place properly while also battling her loyalties. Clark was surprisingly likeable- alpha males are not always my favourite but I thought he was written well with multiple layers and soft qualities when needed.
Overall, this book was super fun and delivered well on romance plus a genuinely intriguing action-packed plot. I think this is a 4.5 rating for me, only because it took me a while to get into it at the start.

What an intriguing start to a new paranormal romance series with a few ranchers thrown in there! Perfect for the enjoyers of Mate, and lovers of magical creatures and political unrest.
I really enjoyed the mixture of magical elements in this book and found it set up the world well and in a clear way that will make future books easier reading. I hadn’t previously known much about Dryads which brought a uniqueness to the characters we were meeting, something I haven’t seen with similar books lately.
I love fated mates and they will always be a win in my book, I found the elements of the will they won’t they to be engaging although I did wish for a little more yearning that I think was probably lost due to needing to world build in this first book. The romance played out well, and I found their banter and general chemistry to be believable!
I really enjoyed the mystery storyline and wish that it was brought to the forefront in more of the chapters, I loved the reveal concerning her mum and thought it was logical. I would have liked to see more about Ranger in this book towards the end but totally understand Gemma has to keep something for the next.

DISCLAIMER: I am a squealing, messy ball of joy as I write this so apologies in advance for any gushing that may take place in the following attempt at a coherent review. Also, thank you NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this early.
I love Gemma’s writing so I had no doubt I was going to like this, but consider me officially OBSESSED. The story drew me in straight away and by 20% I was hooked! My only complaint? That it ended! And now I have to wait goodness knows how long for the chance to read the next one.
It’s like someone mixed Bride & Mate by Ali Hazelwood with Twilight and Gemma’s stunning cowboy romance taking all the best bits out of them all and blending them into the perfect book. The yearning, the chemistry, the tragic backgrounds, the secret twist! Honestly I have no notes, this book ATE and left no crumbs.
The MMC may just be the greenest of green flags; accepting, considerate, caring… Honestly when at 70% the secret wasn’t out yet I panicked there would be the usual miscommunication/fallout/betrayal at 80% but I should have known better. No such cliches here and it was all dealt with beautifully with a side of kick ass female energy.
Have I told you anything useful in this review? Probably not, but hopefully I’ve conveyed to you just how much I absolutely loved this book and encouraged you to pick it up and read it for yourself.

Werewolves that are cowboys. Come on. The concept alone should have made this an instant favourite. Unfortunately, Sacrifice Me was a hard no from pretty early on, and that disappointment stings.
From the very first pages, the writing felt disjointed, like I was supposed to arrive already knowing these characters, their feelings, their motivations, and the entire backstory. The world-building was almost nonexistent, and while I could have forgiven a lot, I really needed some grounding in the different species and how they relate to each other before being thrown into the plot.
Which, by the way, was genuinely confusing. And I felt no connection to anyone in it.
Then there's Clark and Elin, our supposed enemies-to-lovers. Clark is flirting with her almost immediately, despite being engaged to another woman. Arranged or not, Clark, you agreed to it! And Elin arrives with this compelling plan to infiltrate the werewolves and find her mother, which sounded so promising, and then completely evaporates the moment she sets foot in Yellowstone territory. Just gone.
So what we have is: insta-lust, cheating, characters I don't care about, very little werewolfing, and even less cowboying. And then at 42%, Elin, having been at the ranch for approximately two weeks, is declaring she'd rather die than hurt Clark and his family.
Ma'am. You just met him. I could not go on.

A cowboy x paranormal romance cross over? Yes please. This was actually my first book by this author even though I do have one on my shelves also. After reading this, I must make it a priority as I did really enjoy it.
What immediately attracted me to the book was the size, at just over 300 pages I knew it wasn't going to drag and it would be a great easy read - which it was.

And its a great starter for the paranormal romance genre.

First of all, a huge thank you to the author and Pan Macmillan for sending me an early copy of this book and trusting me with her work. Having loved Gemma's other books, I had high expectations for this one - and I wasn't disappointed.
Although it took me a few chapters to fully get into the story, I soon was fully enamoured by the characters and the world - it was so authentic 🐺 We've got so many species and watching them engage was so much fun. I was also positively surprised by how central the plot was, but I'm not going to complain.
I took an immediate liking to our two main characters, who were unique, yet relatable, and just the perfect match 💫 The trust that is slowly built between Clark and Elin was so precious - not to mention the tension and sizzling attraction between them. Angst and yearning were on the menu too, so what more could you want?
Might we get a Lena and Tanner book next? 🫣

I could not love this book more! Gemma Morr knocked it out of the park, delivering a sizzling romance packed with intrigue, tension, and oodles of kick-your-feet moments. From the dedication alone, I knew this was going to be a treat!
Elin was a compelling protagonist - richly drawn and likeable. I also loved the unique blend of her paranormal heritage - I’ve yet to read another book with this genetic mash up! I loved how she was strong enough to hold her own and really enjoyed the immediate sparks that flew between her and Clark.
And hoo boy, what a lush MMC Gemma has given us in the form of Clark!! A musician, a cowboy, AND an alpha?? With a golden retriever heart?? Mother may I??
The plot kept me hooked from start to finish and I just know other reads are going to love Gemma’s transition from cowboy to paranormal. I loved the atmosphere and the setting - I could practically smell the pines!
Can’t wait for the next one in the series - please don’t leave us hanging for too long!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As someone who has read and loved Gemma's Diamond Back series, I was so excited when I was approved to read this book, especially a it has the Paranormal element.
Elin is half Vampire & half Dryad and Clark is a Alpha Shifter of his pack. Elin is used as a 'human' sacrifice she is to live and try to survive Clarks pack, where she hopes to find answers to her mothers disappearance as the Wolves are to blame and she wants answers & revenge.
With things not really being as they seem from both sides, Elin & Clark are navigating not only their connection but also multiple outside forces that seem intent on destroying them both.
This was a perfect blend of hot cowboys, fates mates, secret reveals and a bigger storyline that keeps you engaged and wanting to know more.
Perfect for anyone who already loves a Paranormal romance but also for those who are looking to start, this would be a great one to kick off with.

The very beginning of this book, “where the hell have you been, Loca?” - I knew this was going to be the book for me!
Elin was the perfect FMC, full of attitude and bad-ass energy, nothing frightened her and she fiercely protected everyone she loved.
Clark was the big loveable Alpha, he gave me the impression he was the sunshine boy in this relationship, but behind closed doors - that mouth???? WOW.
I loved the story, exploring Dryads, Vampires and Wolves… the back story was great, gripping and easy to follow. I wanted justice for Elin, I wanted her to be happy and get everything she wanted because of what the Dryads put her through. I HATED those guys!!!
I don’t want to give spoilers, but Gemma, you really are something. The books you’ve published are so easy to read and the spice/smut scenes? Chefs kiss! If only wolves were real 😭 giving me real Twilight vibes, and if you were Team Jacob, this is the book for you!

Having previously read Gemma Morr’s other books, I already knew I was in for a treat, but Sacrifice Me hit on a whole different level! Having been fortunate enough to meet Gemma at a book event, I genuinely feel that Sacrifice Me flawlessly embeds her personality throughout. It’s fun, full of humour and has so much heart
I absolutely loved Clark and Elin. Their chemistry, humour and back-and-forth banter had me completely hooked. Clark was the perfect cowboy alpha, while Elin’s sass and personality made her so easy to love.

Unfortunately, this one just wasn’t for me. I loved the idea of paranormal romance with cowboys, but I struggled to connect with the characters and the story never really pulled me in. And the cowboy thing, yes we have the ranch setting and horses, but it didn’t feel as present in the story as I thought it would. I think I was also expecting a little more from the world-building, especially when it came to the different supernatural groups and their way of life. The dryad clan especially caught my interest, and I would have loved to learn more about their history, traditions, and how they fit into this world. The story definitely sets things up for a sequel, with a bigger conflict and the feeling that war is coming.
That being said, I think fans of Bride by Ali Hazelwood might enjoy this one, especially if you’re looking for a paranormal romance with a different twist.

The mystery surrounding Elin’s mother kept the pages turning, and while I would’ve liked a little more emotional depth and a slower burn to the romance, I still had a genuinely fun time.
If you’re looking for an easy, entertaining paranormal romance with protective alpha energy, fated mates, and cowboy werewolves, this is well worth picking up 🐺🤠

Absolutely perfect for fans of Bride & Mate by Ali Hazelwood! I don’t know what it is about this genre but I just eat it up!
Having read Gemma’s previous books as soon as this was available on netgalley I was all over it!
This was such a fun read, there was copious amounts of banter, spice and swoon worthy moments. What this also did was pack a punch with the politics.
Our MMC Clark was a raging green flag, absolutely hot, a cowboy to trot and also the most understanding person you could ever come across.
What I loved about this most was the found family aspect. Our Vampire/dryad hybrid Elin has had to hide who she is and in a constant state of irresolution of her two sides. She has finally found where she belongs.
I would absolutely recommend this, it was such an easy low maintenance enjoyable experience. The plot was engaging and the side characters were perfect!

Anything cowboy romance and I’m immediately sat. PARANORMAL cowboy romance? I could not wait to see what this was like! I was so invested in the mystery aspects to this story as well as the romance. This book felt reminiscent of bride by Ali hazelwood and I needed something to fill that hole, I flew through this in around 48 hours, and I feel if you want a twist on your regular cowboy romance PLEASE pick this up! I loved the two main characters both separately and together the feeling of found family made me feel a lot closer to this group of characters than in previous books by this author. This is definitely my favourite in the series so far I cannot wait to see if another book comes out following this storyline!

If you want a serious, deep, emotional, high-stakes fantasy, this probably isn’t the book for you. But if you’re in the mood for a silly goofy good time, this was so much fun.
