Scarred by Desire

Rate this book
Rhys Waversea has decided where his loyalties lie, and Clayton Michaels couldn't agree more.

She’s gone, and it’s killing me. One minute Harper was here, biting back with that sharp tongue and soft heart, and the next, she vanished without a trace. No messages. No leads. Just a silence loud enough to drown me. I’ve searched every inch of Waversea. Questioned every name on her schedule. Even dragged Rhys into the same room more than once, which should tell you just how far I’m willing to go.

Because we both know this wasn’t random. Someone has taken her. Someone planned this. They think we’re too distracted, too broken, too busy tearing each other apart to notice she’s missing. But they don't know Harper is ours. She belongs to us, and we’re coming for her.

What a fantastic finale to a brilliant trilogy. The book starts right out of the second book and just keeps giving throughout! The tension is palpable, added to with the swaps in the characters telling the story. . Harper goes through hell, but like the phoenix she is, she rises! Her heart is big, and she sees into the hearts of others with her kindness and understanding. Emotions are so close to the surface in much of the book, particularly where Rhys is concerned! He goes through so much development, finding himself caught in old reactions, but beginning to find newer responses within himself, helped by the quiet support of Clay and the love coming from Harper. He has had to create a thick carapace to protect himself for so very long! I just melted when and how he tells her his feelings for her ♥️. And Clay! What a totally lovable man! His character grows in a different way to Rhys as if he is finally able to be comfortable in his skin and this life he finds himself in.
This has been a cracking series and this last book is truly the cherry on top of a delicious cake! 💖💖💖💖💖

Scarred by Desire by Maddison Cole was the kind of emotional, high-stakes finale that makes saying goodbye to a series genuinely painful. I’m going to miss this world, these characters, and especially our boys more than I’m ready to admit.

Harper is such a powerful FMC. She’s been through so much, and somehow the hits just keep coming, but what stood out most in this final installment was her empathy. Instead of leaning into rage or revenge, she chooses forgiveness and understanding. That felt so true to her character. We so often get those iconic, explosive revenge moments (which I absolutely love), but Harper’s response felt more realistic, more human, and more emotionally impactful. Her strength is quiet, resilient, and deeply rooted in compassion, and it made her journey incredibly moving.

Rhys and Clayton both had massive growth arcs in this book, and I loved seeing them finally step fully into who they were meant to be. For themselves and for Harper.

Clayton’s arc was especially satisfying. Losing Harper was the brutal wake-up call he needed, and once that final shift happened, everything about him changed. The confidence, the devotion, the unwavering love. You could feel it in every scene, even when we were in other POVs. The second he stopped fighting their reality, he became that man, and I ate up every moment of it.

And Rhys… god, this man went through it. His trauma was front and center in this book, and watching him confront it while still choosing Harper, still choosing love, still pushing forward, was incredibly emotional. His vulnerability and strength coexisting made his journey hit so hard.

Their dynamic together is everything I love. It’s intense, emotional, devoted, and unbreakable. This story was full of tension, heart, healing, and deep connection, and I genuinely wasn’t ready for it to end. I need another epilogue because I’m not prepared to move on yet.

If you’ve been following this series, this finale absolutely delivers - emotionally, romantically, and character-wise. A beautiful, painful, and deeply satisfying goodbye. 🖤

I’m both thrilled by the incredible ending to this trilogy, and very sad to see it end. I truly loved this dark and twisty series!
Seeing how much Rhys has grown throughout this series is one of my favorite things. The way Clay grows too, and comes together with Rhys to love and support Harper is wonderful. I really love the found family dynamic, not just romantically with Harper, but platonically between Rhys and Clay.
Harper impresses the heck out of me. She has that rare, quiet strength that is so often under appreciated.
I really appreciate that the romance in this series, despite being Why Choose, feels very real and plausible. It’s not an easy path they walk, there are bumps and twists, but they do make it in the end. It’s rewarding, and so much fun to read!
I also love any book series that gives me a truly satisfying ending and epilogue—and this one more that delivers. Seeing the happiness after all the strife was just the icing on the cake!

Lucky girl.

This is the last book in a trilogy that was a spectacular journey and a complete rollercoaster.
What a bittersweet feeling… we finally get all the answers, but at the same time, it’s over :(

There’s nothing better than rereading everything to catch the details I missed and can now understand better.
I really thought I had figured everything out… but apparently only half of it — which isn’t bad for my detective skills.

The plot twists are absolutely nail-biting.
Without a doubt, this book will drive you crazy with suspense, twists, and the characters’ decisions, who definitely have the power to make us lose our minds — LOL.

Since this is a dark book, I recommend checking the TW.

I’m a big fan of “Why Choose?” romances because I believe love can take many forms, and I love reading about a FMC who connects with more than one MMC, each with very different personalities, but together, they make her feel complete. This trilogy delivers exactly that.

Our FMC falls in love with two MMCs who are as different as night and day, yet they are exactly what she wants… if only they could stand each other.
Their connection is intense and passionate, and there is definitely no shortage of steam.

One of them — whom I absolutely LOVE — has a personality that is complex, adorable, and exasperating all at once. When we get glimpses of his past, it made me feel indignant and angry. Some people truly deserve karma knocking on their door.
The other MMC is the sensitive, protective bear — more grounded, but just as fierce when it comes to her. He’s faced heartbreak before and would face anything for her.
And finally, our wonderful FMC, who is not a princess waiting to be saved. She’s the type who goes into battle. At the same time, she has a huge heart and the ability to see beyond appearances.

The story concludes in a satisfying and hopeful way, opening the door to new beginnings.

Such a great ending to a perfect trilogy! Scarred By Desire by Maddison Cole is book 3 in the War At Waversea trilogy. Give me a great dark, why choose, college romance with so much angst and burn any day and I am hooked! Maddison just has this way of writing such beautifully raw lines that you find yourself highlighting them all. She draws you in with these three and you can't let go. You feel their passion, their pain, their connection and their love.

We pick up right where we left off in book two. Harper, our amazing, fierce and beautifully raw character finds out who took her and why. Rhys, the rich alpha bully and Clay, our beautiful, sweet golden retriever are out of their minds scared trying to find her. This book so beautifully shines the love these two have deep down for each other and the growth together realizing they can never be apart from Harper. Rhys and Clay together, watching them become enemies to close friends is priceless. Ultimately, it is their true love for Harper that covers it all. There are still trials to face, but watching them come to a healing is so worth it all! Watching Rhys truly grow into who he is and Clay becoming the protector of the THREE of them, absolutely loved it! And Harper, she is just freaking fierce and everything good! And the scenes between the three of them, holy hell, these scenes burn they are so hot, the chemistry and passion is unreal and the give and take between the three is perfect.

Their connection is raw, emotional, all-consuming, and impossible to break. This final story has so much tension, heart, healing, and a bond that runs soul deep from these three, and when it ended, it felt far too soon. Go read this series! It is so worth it!

The final book in the series and wow this one was absolutely worth the wait.

Scarred by Desire picks up right where book two left off, and from the very first chapter, it refuses to let go. The tension, the emotions, the payoff everything lands exactly the way you hope a finale will.

Rhys and Clayton finally stop circling each other and start working as a unit, and watching that shift was beyond satisfying. Rhys, in particular, surprised me. He still carries that dangerous edge, but there’s real, tangible growth there the kind you feel rather than just read about. Clayton remains steady, protective, and grounded… the perfect counterbalance to the chaos. Together? Chef’s kiss.

And Addy everyone should have an Addy in their lives. She was an absolute hilarious and brought much needed levity to some seriously intense moments.

The plot twists had me in a chokehold. Rhys’s mother and the full scope of his family drama? I genuinely did not see that coming, and it added a deliciously dark layer to the story. I do wish we’d gotten more of Kenneth fingers crossed he shows up in future books because I’m not done with him yet.

What really made this book shine was the growth. Harper and her boys have come so far, especially the evolution of the relationship between Clayton and Rhys. By the end, the three of them finally find their rhythm strong, united, and fighting for each other. Seeing them reach a place where they could truly stand together and earn their HEA was incredibly rewarding.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the third and final book in the War at Waversea Series. If you have not read Deafened by Silence and Burned by Sin, you need to read those two books before diving into this one. As you know we left the last book with heart failure at the cliff ending of that book. Rhys and Clayton are standing with her hearts in their throats and don't have a clue what has happened to Harper. They think she has gone back to live with her grandmother since she isn't willing to have a not all of them kind of relationship. But things are not as they seem. Harper is scared and alone and doesn't know where she is. But she does know who has her. I can't tell you this or that would be a major spoiler. I have to say that my heart was in my throat a lot of the time while reading this book. I was trying to figure it all out while rooting for these three to get the ending they have fought so hard for. I thought that it was a thing of beauty to see these two guys come together to find their girl. I loved them getting along at times. It wouldn't be Rhys is they got along all the time. I was a nervous wreck when we meet Rhys father and then toward the end of the book, I think my jaw wss on the floor. I did not see that coming. This was an absolutely amazing read and a great ending to this series. Gosh, how I am going to miss spending time with Rhys, Harper and Clayton!! They have solen my heart, and I do not want it back.

So many twists and turns.....
Make sure to read the first two books in the series first. Great 3 book series for dark academia genre readers. In the final book in the series, we pick up after our cliffhanger in book 2, where Harper has been kidnapped and by Kenneth, who they all thought was their friend. Clayton and Rhys are desperately trying to find her, even after she broke their hearts by telling them if she couldn't be with both of them, she can't be with either of them because she won't choose. Poor Harper doesn't even know if anyone is looking for her since she's all alone. I love the character arch for both Clayton and Rhys throughout the series. Clayton started out keeping to himself, defending himself from Rhys's attacks, and not really engaging with anyone else. Now, he's supporting Rhys, growing in supporting Harper, and being the caring, softness she needs. Rhys had the hugest chip on his shoulder, and we can't blame him with the trauma he grew up with. He's grown so much and finally is starting to let others in (more than just Harper). As we get through book 3, we finally have answers for why Kenneth took Harper, why Rhys has suffered so much, and what really happened with Clayton's job that went wrong. Great conclusion, and we get a little inkling into the next series!

This book wrecked me. In the best way.

Book three jumps straight into the chaos and does not let you breathe. Harper being gone felt suffocating. The silence. The not knowing. It hurt. And honestly, I loved that the story sat in that fear instead of rushing past it. Harper has always been strong, but seeing what she endures here just cements how unbreakable she really is.

Rhys and Clayton finally get it together in this one, and watching them stop posturing and actually work as a unit was so satisfying. Rhys especially surprised me. He still has that dangerous edge, but there’s real growth here. The kind you feel. Clayton stays solid and protective and exactly the balance this mess needed.

And Harper? Still the heart of everything. Still sharp. Still brave. Still refusing to be small even when the world tries to crush her. Her deafness continues to be written with so much care, especially in the emotional moments. It never fades into the background, and it shouldn’t.

The tension. The spice. The twists. Agggh. I was stressed, feral, emotional, and fully locked in until the last page. Getting to see the three of them finally land where they belong felt earned.

I’m sad it’s over, but also kind of stunned in that good book hangover way. Five stars.

Scarred By Desire is the third and final book in the War At Waversea Series. It is a dark, why choose, sports, academy romance. The story is told in first person with multiple POV.

Harper broke the hearts of the ones she loves, and now has been kidnapped by someone she thought to be her friend. Her men, Rhys and Clay, are hell bent on finding her. They all maneuver through pain, emotion, betrayal, huge surprises, confronting their pasts, and so, so much more to finally get their much deserved HEA.

This was an amazing finale to this series. All the revelations, action, intrigue, and spicy spice were fantastic. I loved the immense amount of character development, especially on Rhys's part. I loved the healing they all accomplish for themselves and each other. I adored the relationship development between the boys and Harper, and between the boys themselves.

This has been such an amazing series. The writing, pace, plot, flow, and characters were all amazing, as were the character development, relationship development, storytelling, storyline, and world building.

If you love a complex, dark, and intriguing story with characters that have been damaged by their pasts, but help each other heal, then I'd definitely recommend this book and series.

MY BOOK REPORT
Book Title: Scarred by Desire
Author: Maddison Cole

Main Characters: Harper, Rhys, Clayton

Story Setting: Waversea Academy, supposedly somewhere in the US

Story Summary: Harper kidnapped, Harper saved. Fake Philip arrested. Real Philip found along with his wife(Rhys’ mom) with heart failure. Real Philip takes the family throne once again. Clayton’s early onset dementia mother moved upstate with Rhys’ parents and their friends. The trio are moving to Chicago after graduation.

Main Events: Kenneth kidnapped Harper and her boyfriends save her. Kenneth strings are being pulled by “Philip.” Kenneth ends up in a psychiatric ward awaiting trial for the things he did to Harper. Philip Waversea was actually not the real Philip, his half brother had plastic surgery and took his identity. The real Philip was in hiding with his wife who was slowly dying from heart failure. Rhys found his family and begins to build a relationship again with them. Philip takes back the empire and the fake Philip -his half-brother is in prison.

Story Conclusion: They graduated college, and now they are moving to Chicago as a little family because Rhys is interning at of forensics lab(?) to begin his career to pay off his education because he doesn’t want any of the Waversea empire money.

Write 1 fact and opinion about this story: Clayton grew on me in the last two books, especially this last one. He really needed to grow a back bone and I’m glad he finally found it. There were a lot of words in these books and I don’t know if all of them were necessary.

I loved this final part of War at Waversea. This picks up straight from Book two and thank goodness for that. The wait to find out what was happening to Harper was entirely too long! (It wasn’t really, sorry Maddison)
Harper’s ability to see the heart of people absolutely shines through and people give her as much back as she gives them, either in the way of friendship or information, Fiona and Klara are two such.
Where Harper was held leads to more mysteries and staying in the Waversea family mansion, leads to even more.
There were some moments where I just cackled with laughter, Addy at the dinner party, breaking down the door to a ‘private’ room and the way Rhys made money for the deposit on an apartment.
The spice is so, so hot 🥵🔥🥵🔥🥵 and sharing is definitely caring!
Rhys has the most development in his his personality, but at the end, he’s still unapologetically himself, but one moment of true change is when the little girl gives him the picture. WYKYK!
I loved this and finding out that there’ll be a new series later this year with a certain hunky hacker was the icing on the cake 🧁

The third book in this series must be read in order; it won’t make sense otherwise. Book two ends on a cliffhanger, and this installment picks up right where it left off. I really enjoyed seeing Rhys and Clayton working together, despite their differences, to get their girl back. I don’t want to say more, as it would spoil either book two or three.

If you didn’t enjoy book one, there’s probably no point in continuing the series. Book three has plenty of action driving the plot, along with the other kind of “action” as well. This book feels very much like Rhys’s story—and honestly, the entire series does. That surprised me, as I initially thought Harper would be the main focus. Rhys is the one who changes the most over the course of the series.

Love triangles aren’t anything new, but this one kept me interested enough to see it through. I also appreciated that this was a rapid-release series, as I don’t enjoy long waits between books. Overall, I enjoyed the series and this trio of characters, though each book could have been a few chapters shorter without losing any charm. I had a good time reading it, and I’m satisfied to finally close this chapter.

This was the perfect ending to a brilliant series, and I couldn't have asked for more. Book three starts right where book two ends. Harper finds herself alone in a dark room with no sight or hearing, and wondering who has taken her from her guys. And the guys, well, they are heartbroken and struggling after Harper's decision at the end of book two, but it doesn't take too long for them to come together to find Harper. The dynamics between the three are top-level, and while Clayton is definitely the definition of golden retriever, Rhys and Harper's relationship is more enemies-to-lovers, and it's perfect.

I have loved watching the characters grow throughout the series and finding out more about their pasts and why they have acted the way they have. Harper is the key to making them both better, and she does it without being asked.

It's just a fantastic series from start to finish, and I don't want to reveal too much, but there are plot twists I didn't see coming, and they blew my mind. Brilliant writing and fantastic characters throughout, and I would never say no to more Waversea stories with some of the other characters we have met throughout the series.

Hard fought HEA!
Overall a satisfying end to this trilogy! I will admit I did struggle with the pacing of this book at times, it did feel a little slow and there are a LOT of seggs scenes! Which is great, but for me I felt it slowed down the overall pace and fluidity in spots.
The plot picks up immediately after Harpers kidnapping and that first section moves pretty quickly and you get the sense there’s more going on behind the scenes with it 😳 there’s a good level of intrigue then built in with Rhys’ mother and his whole family drama 😮 will see didn’t see that whole twist coming so that was an enjoyable element! What’s more is the development of the boys in this book, Rhys and Clay really start to come together for Harper and find their own sort of connection 🥰 and wow do they create some hot scenes 🔥
The epilogues were really wholesome to complete their story!

I love Harper and this book shows how resilient she is as she navigates being betrayed by someone she trusts. Despite finding herself in dire straits she tackles it head on as usual and didn't let it break her. I never expected to laugh at the coffee and the bucket in that situation but I did!

As much as I love Harper, Rhys was the stand out character for me. He was so broken at the end of book two and I honestly felt like he deserved a bit of a grovel from Harper as that ultimatum was awful, especially when you find out how bad his past is. The whole series has felt very Rhys-centric, which I didn't mind as I found him really engaging, but it did mean that Clay faded a little the background a bit. Over the series it probably balances out, but I felt by the end I knew a lot more about Rhys than I did Clay although Clay also had his moments. My heart did melt a little at him learning sign language even if Rhys using it was my favourite part!

I loved the plotline that came out of nowhere (no spoilers!) as it injection some good old fashioned drama at just the right time and kept me engaged right to the end.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

'For all of the women out there who, like me, have daddy issues'

🖤 Scarred by Desire by Maddison Cole 🖤

Scarred by Desire is the third and final book in the War at Waversea series by Maddison Cole. This is a dark why choose sports romance with plots twists that will keep you HOOKED!

'She's practiced in harnessing her weakness, in walking through the fires of her pain and emerging like the stunning phoenix she is.'

I had the absolute pleasure of beta reading this and after doing the same for the first two I was so excited to dive into this! After the shock ending of the last book I was ready to go straight into the action.

"There is no version of this life where I wouldn't find you.""You're our everything, Harper. We don't exist without you."

Rhys really came into his own in this book. I loved him before but I'm now officially obsessed (The scene with the little girl slayed me and the signing!). I also loved how both the guys managed to get over themselves and come together to save Harper but also in other things 👀🔥

'I want to prove that I can exist here without feeling the need to burn it all down.'

The plot twists in this had me in a chokehold the entire book and honestly I'm not mad about it. The storyline from the first book to this book flowed perfectly and has now become one of my newest favourite series, yes I must collect the books for my shelves now 😂

Yet again Maddison's ability to keep me engaged yet constantly on the edge is both amazing and teasing. I really am in my dark romance era and this series hits the spot. If you have not read this series yet then you need to immediately and if you have then go pre-order this one as you do not want to miss out!!

Happy Endings All Round ❤️‍🩹

I hate goodbyes, I really do, but I leave this series happy and sated knowing Maddison didn’t hold back...

Sh!t got wild for a minute there! 😂

We also got some epic character growth in this one too. Of course, Harper remained our strong AF FMC throughout, quiet chaos and ultimately too kind for this world ❤️‍🩹. But it was the lads that really stood out this time round, their growth made me smile and kick my feet with joy. Waversh!t's especially was raw and unhinged, just like the goon we were bullied into falling in love with. I'm glad we got to bear witness to his full circle moments the most.

And OMG the boys finally learned to share!!! 🌶🥵😍

As always, I loved the little Easter eggs for other books, and I can't wait to see what Harper's emotional support gremlin, Addy, does next.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

The perfect ending for these three

This is book three in this series and the last installment in Harper, Rhys and Clay’s journey.
The book continues where we left in the second book. Harper is being kidnapped and because she did break both boys' hearts she thinks of herself as alone and nobody out there who would care about her.
Clayton finally doesn’t keep to himself any longer anymore and stands behind Rhys. He becomes the soft that Harper needed.
Rhys has done a great developing arc, he had a growth throughout the story that was amazing. And he had a real bad past.
We finally got a lot of answers in this one and the happy end we all were waiting for. A very well written trilogy with plot, twists and more in this dark academia series.

This series surprised me in ways that I did not expect when you read a Why choose. this series was very focused on to me Rhys and his plot, trauma, full circle moment. Clayton has a lot to work through but this last book was literally all about Rhys. Even when the fmc is taken your still seeing how rhys is reacting. Clay becomes the steady silent anchor between them all. I will say 300 pages in I'm like ok are we going get back to the plot and who was really trying to hurt all of them. The ending surprised me but didn't at the same time. The way the villain was discovered was surprising. I wish we could have gotten more of the Clayton and Rhys bromine because you saw very little of it. good series this book seemed off because it was all Rhys but also he is extremely complicated but this series didn't real feel like a normal why choose it gave more love triangle until they got their crap together 100 pages into this book when she is rescued.

SCARRED BUT NOT BROKEN

The final installment of the War At Waversea Series from Maddison Cole was everything I was hoping plus some! Picking up right where we were left hanging at the end of book 2, we find ourselves in the middle of a manhunt, a truce has been called between rivals and our FMC is determined to survive and find out who is pulling the strings. These characters are dynamic, emotional and captivating in the pursuit of love and happiness. Maddison Cole's writing is amazing. This story and whole series didn't waver in it's ability to draw you in, break your heart and throw you into a tailspin at the twists and shocks. While there are moments of profound sadness, there are also moments of lightheartedness and joy which gives the reader a reprieve. The steam is top shelf and adds to the whole dynamic of this why choose academy romance.

This book was phenomenal. The biggest plot twist alone had me floored. I truly didn’t see it coming. The writing is fantastic. Each characters is written completely different and unique, giving the POV from their perspective a truly unique perspective, even in the same events.
Rhys and Clayton’s character growth/development in this book hit new levels. We got to see them reach their true potentials, just like Harper dreamed. Seeing them become closer in their quest to save Harper, even if volatile at times, was still a thing of hope. That Harper could have them both get along and depend on each other once they stop getting in their own way.
This finale was everything I could have hoped for, and then some. I truly am in love with the series and I’m so sad it’s over. However I can’t complain with an ending like this. The author truly did this story justice.

I’ve loved this series from the start.
Book one was a straight up 10000/5 for me.
Book two was an easy 5/5.

This third book is probably a 4/5 for me, but still a really good read. It lagged a little in spots compared to the first two, though I’m also in the middle of a mental health rough patch, so that could definitely be affecting how I connected with it.

What hasn’t changed is how much I love the FMC. She’s deaf, severely impaired in a world that doesn’t make things easy for her, and still completely badass. She’s confident, capable, and refuses to be treated as weak. I love that about her.

Even with a few slower moments, I still care deeply about these characters and this story, and I will absolutely reread this series in the future.

Still a solid read and a series I’m really glad I picked up.

I really enjoyed this series. The characters were very well written. After the second book, I could identify who was talking just based on what they said or did. Each of them had a clear personality and they stayed true to that core personality all the way through the series. I wasn’t particularly surprised by who the “bad guy” was, but then again, I guess maybe I was? I don’t know. I did get a sense that something wasn’t quite right, but I’ll admit I didn’t see things playing out like they did. It kept the story going as secrets kept being revealed in this last book. I was a little disappointed with the take down. After reading three books, I kind of expected something a little more explosive. Still, it kept me interested and I was especially happy with Epilogue 1. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of dark academia and RH romance.

This was the third and final book in the series. To be honest, I will genuinely miss these characters. This book features both touching moments and those that might evoke a strong reaction. I found myself quite fond of Clay and Rhys. I believe Harper was portrayed as a strong, resilient woman with a truly kind heart. My only minor wish is that the pacing of this book had been a bit more.

However, if you appreciate a man who, despite emotional immaturity, is deeply devoted to his partner, yet also grapples with childhood trauma and anger, then Rhys might be a character you'd find compelling.

And if your preference leans towards a man with a golden retriever-like demeanor, but who carries a burden of guilt and a jaded past, then Clay could certainly be your type.

Oh what a mind twist.
The last book of this crazy series begins where our lovely Harper was kidnapped by Kenneth and had just left Clayton and Rhys, breaking all three threats in the process as they were too stubborn to see they were better together then apart.

I loved the dynamic between the boys it's not often you're MMCs are so at odds within a story most gone they are busy buddy and get around and along this one they are polar opposites and it shows. This story really moves with this happening.

This book concluded with a craft twist I definitely did not see coming the author blowing my mind and making me glad I got to be okay of this ARC group

A series to binge on that's for sure!

Oh my god!!

I really love Maddison Cole's book. I have read all of her series and this is my first time ARC reading her book. This last book for this series and am I sad, yes I really am. I do not want it to end. I love my gurl Harper so so much. I adore her. I love her relationship with Rhys and Clayton. Rhys and Clayton are polar opposite. They really can't stand each other.

I was anticipating this book because I wanna know how it ends, well I know Maddison Cole never fail to make my jaw hit the ground cause I did not expect that! The ending was crazy, wow! I'm still recovering but getting to see the three of them finally together was so good to see. This series will live in my head rent free. Kudos Maddison Cole and thank you for sharing us your talent <3

I had to reread the other books in this series before reading Scarred by Desire. I was hooked on the characters and couldn't wait to find out what happened to Rhys, Clayton, and Harper! Rhys became human in this book, and I loved his vulnerability and how his walls came down. Clayton was always a rock and protector, and his ability to nurture those around him made him even sexier. Harper couldn’t have been with anyone other than these two men. Everyone should have an Addy in their lives. She was a hoot. I wish there were more about Kenneth. I hope he shows up in future books. I had a hard time putting the book down due to the drama and excitement going on.

I read and reviewed a copy of this book.

I freaking knew it! I love all the hints Maddison left for the stalker, especially after the cliffy in #2. This was one crazy ride that took you through all the emotions. Rhys and Clayton had sssoooo much growing in this book and it was amazing. Rhys finally stands up to his "father" and holy heck that was a twist I didn't see coming. Rhys got so many answers though and his poor mother. I feel he had the most growth in this book out of all of them but he had so much thrown at him and dealt with it so much better than he would have back in book 1. I loved how much Harper and her boys grew, especially between Clayton and Rhys. The three finally found a happy place where they could all work together as a tight unit and get their HEA. I absolutely loved this series!

The finale to end all finales. I think I need to have a seat and recover from the book hangover I’m sure to have now.

We jumped right back into the chaos and questions we were left with after ending book 2, with betrayals and not knowing who to trust. Harper and her men are trying to solve the mystery of who is targeting them and why, and still making a way to be together. Clayton grounds them all, Rhys lets down his guard more and shows that he isn’t truly a bad person, and man oh man the spice when the boys let go and come together in their love for Harper. Everything I predicted was absolutely wrong, and the twist was beautifully written. I was sucked in immediately with this series, and I loved every second of it.
