It was a terrible idea to agree to protect my enemy’s sister…

The second she stepped out of her brother’s car, I knew she was a wildfire.
Spitting mad and so stunning she stole my breath.
She thinks her brother made a deal with the devil, and by working for me, she’s paying off his debt.

She doesn’t know the real reason she’s here.
Doesn’t know the danger that surrounds her.
Soon, she realizes there is something sinister lurking in the shadows.

She hates me for keeping her in the dark.
I want to hate her back, but with every sassy thing that fires from her mouth, she gets deeper under my skin.
With each heated glance, I feel myself losing control.
And when I crawl into bed with her, I combust.

I know better than thinking I can keep her. My life is nothing but secrets and peril.
But as outside threats begin to infiltrate, I’ll do anything to keep the oath I made to keep her safe.
Even expose her to the monster that I am…

This kept me on the edge of my seat, the heat and tension between Brinley and Silas so hot so early on, until it finally exploded! The bonds she formed not just with him but with his family, she became family too. There was sweet, lighthearted, gentle moments and ones of love and lust so intense. I had a lot of fun with this one, I looked forward to reading more every time I went away to do some adulting lol then coming back to it, both such badasses in their own right. Love me a hot AF MC Prez and his Queen 👸🏻

I’ve been in a bit of a book slump the last couple weeks but this book pulled me right out of it! I devoured every word! I loved every part of it! Silas and his protective energy was a chefs kiss. Brinley was a fighter, she was fierce and so strong! I loved both main characters so much! I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to read this book as an ARC! Definitely 5 ⭐️

“Some fires are meant to destroy. Others are meant to forge something unbreakable.”

Forged in the Fire completely consumed me. From the very first chapter, Silas and Brinley’s story wrapped itself around my heart and refused to let go. This book delivers everything I love in a romantic suspense: explosive chemistry, dangerous secrets, emotional depth, and a hero who would burn down the world to protect the woman he loves.

Silas is the definition of a morally gray book boyfriend. Protective, broody, fiercely loyal, and carrying enough darkness on his shoulders to make you ache for him. Beneath all that rough, intimidating exterior is a man willing to sacrifice everything for the people he loves, especially Brinley. Watching his walls crumble piece by piece was absolutely addictive.

Brinley was the perfect match for him. She’s strong, stubborn, witty, and refuses to be intimidated by Silas’s grumpy attitude. I loved how she challenged him at every turn. Their banter sparkled, their tension practically ignited the pages, and every stolen glance felt loaded with emotion.

The enemies-to-lovers dynamic was executed beautifully. The push and pull between them kept me hooked, while the suspense surrounding the secret society and looming danger added another layer of intrigue that made it impossible to stop reading. Every chapter seemed to raise the stakes higher, both emotionally and physically.

What truly stood out was the found family aspect. The brotherhood, loyalty, and sense of belonging woven throughout the story gave it so much heart. Even amidst the danger and secrets, there was a warmth that balanced the darker themes perfectly.

Silas and Brinley’s journey is passionate, emotional, and unforgettable. If you love protective grumps, fierce heroines, motorcycle clubs, found family, and a romance that burns hot enough to leave scorch marks, Forged in the Fire belongs at the top of your TBR.

Verdict:
A gripping, emotional, heart-racing romance that proves sometimes the strongest love stories are forged in the flames.

An explosive start to a promising series. Jackson drops us in the middle of a revenge drama with no preamble. Right from chapter one bullets are flying, villains are chasing, and heroine is just few steps ahead of grabby hands.
Brinley is bound by a promise to protect her wayward, reckless brother. She runs straight into Silas, the Crimson Crows Prez.
It's eerie how similar they are and the life situations they are in.

“Forged In Fire ; Made into Precious
Born in chaos.
Forged by iron.
Sworn to vengeance. ”

Both are courageous, fiercely loyal, guardians of their families at teh cost if tehir own safety. Both keep secrets from each other and worst of all- they have a common enemy!!
Loads of violence, lies, betrayal, a rat who gets double crossed and gun fight later a big secret is revealed.

“some fires are meant to destroy, others are meant to create something special”

The only peeve I have is brinkley forgives D even tho he caused her irreparable harm IYKYK!!
I enjoyed it throughly, ALC was provided by Valentine PR. Narration By Connor Crais& Desiree Ketchum is exemplary.
“4 stars for sweet boy”

AL Jackson has done it again! My gosh this story had me in a full chokehold the entire time and I am totally okay with that. Silas with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Trying to take care of his club, his family and then takes on protecting an innocent. Brinley has always tried to take care of herself and her younger brother. Working herself to the bone to keep him out of trouble but always feeling like she can never catch up. When her brother tells her she has to go and stay with a local MC she feels like she is repaying his debt for him. She just has no idea what she is walking into. I absolutely love Silas and Brinley’s banter. Their push and pull is everything and I have to add that their nicknames for each other feed into this even more. Silas calls her Wildfire and she calls him King. Brinley tries to hate Silas but let’s be honest that line was so freaking fine that it didn’t even take a match to light it on fire for them to see the attraction. It is learning all about them and Silas’ siblings to know just how important family is to him. But his Wildfire is more than the air he needs to breathe. There is something about how AL writes her characters that you feel like you are right there with them. That Elena is not just Silas’s sister, but also your best friend. That Meems is talking directly to you and reminding you that the heart knows. And sweet Kia. That little boy with his big loving heart that you just want to hold close to your heart and love.

This will be a story that you will continue to remember days, weeks, months and even years later.

Forgd in the Fire, THE FIRST BOOK in Al JACKSON'S new CRIMSON Crows series-- delivers the emotional intensity and romance that A.L. Jackson is known for. The novel combines heartfelt character development with a strong sense of tension, creating a story that feels both passionate and deeply personal. Jackson’s writing style is evocative and emotional, pulling readers into the characters’ struggles and connections from the very beginning.

One of the book’s strengths is its emotional depth. The characters feel layered and vulnerable, and their journey is written in a way that keeps the reader invested. The romance is central, but the story also explores healing, trust, and the challenges of moving forward after pain. These themes give the book more weight than a standard romance.

At times, the pacing may feel dramatic, especially for readers who prefer lighter love stories, but for fans of intense, emotionally charged romance, that will likely be part of the appeal.

Overall, Forged in the Fire is a compelling read for those who enjoy stories filled with passion, heartbreak, and hope. THERE IS ALSO PLENTY OF HEAT AND SIZZLE, because the chemistry between Siilas and BRINLEY is completely off the charts!!

As a huge fan of A.L. Jackson’s Redemption Hills and Moonlit Ridge series, I knew I had to pick up Forged in the Fire. I went into this book with high expectations, and it absolutely delivered.

A.L. Jackson has a way of making readers feel every emotion, and this story was no exception. The romance, the heartache, the healing, and the hope all came together beautifully. One thing I love most about her books is the way she weaves in unexpected twists and deeper connections between her characters. Just when I think I know where the story is going, she surprises me in the best way. The connection between the FMC and MMC was heartfelt and gave me all the feels.

While Forged in the Fire can be enjoyed as a standalone, readers who have read the Moonlit Ridge series will appreciate some of the connections and added depth to the storyline.

If you’re already a fan of Redemption Hills or Moonlit Ridge, this is a must-read. Another emotional, beautifully written romance from A.L. Jackson that reminds me exactly why she’s one of my favorite authors.

Ah! What a way to kick off the new series. This book had me hooked from the start. I absolutely loved Brinley & Silas plus you get sweet little Kai. The story unfolded as I expected it to but I mean that in a good way. Connection between Brinley and Silas was great. Silas tried to fight it of course but there was just that magnetic pull. I think the true telling moment was Brinley’s instant connection with Kai and Elena. Despite what she had gone through in her past and the circumstances that put her with the Crimson Crows, Brinley had such a big heart. She didn’t allow the bad to overshadow the love. I was surprised with the twist but at the same time wasn’t but again not in a bad way. Desiree Ketchum & Connor Crais were frickin amazing with the dual narration. They both really brought the story to another level. They even had me in tears! Overall the story was amazing and I am absolutely stoked for this series. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Stop it right now! I loved this book so much! Brinley and Silas are forced together for unfortunate reasons. However, after spending more and more time together, they realize that this might have been the best thing to ever happen to them. They fall quicker than they ever could've expected and are made all the better for it.
Forged in the fire is filled with laughter and comradery, found family and love, but it also has gritty hard truths and vulnerabilities that make these characters feel so real. I loved the emotional tension between these two. The "I shouldn't want you but I do" will always have me invested in the love story. Also, sweet angel baby Kai?!?! Literally, the cutest kid ever. I really enjoyed all the secondary characters (except Derek) in the book too. I cannot wait for Alina's story!

Thank you so much AL Jackson for the advanced copy!

I loved Silas & Brinley! Their story was an incredible read and had me in chokehold the entire time. I had a feeling there was something coming and i just didn’t know but I loved the tie in at the end (no spoilers). Their chemistry was 10/10 and they healed each other in ways they weren’t expecting. The slow, intense burn between them was delicious and Silas’ care & consideration through out was so endearing. My only dislike was the switch to third person in the flash backs - this really frustrated me as I HATE 3rd person and it made it hard for me to get through the flash backs parts (which are important to the overall story). However, i loved the story that much that i forged on and really really enjoyed their story and little Kai, MY GOODNESS HE WAS CUTE! I need Elena’s story asap please and thank you.

Thank you to Valentine PR for an early copy of this book.

I love this author as I’ve read other books from her and really enjoyed them. I did like this one but it didn’t have the same feeling like her other books normally feel like. I think for me it was the pacing as it lagged for a while in the middle. Also it had a few too many spicy scenes for me. I did like Silas and Brinley but I loved the side characters more. Meems, Elena, and Kai were my favorites. I wanted more page time with them. I do want to continue this series as I really want to read Elena’s story. I would still recommend if you like MC stories.

Thank You So much to Valentine PR and the Author for this ALC of Forged in the Fire!

Action from the word go, Brinley knows Silas is everything she should never want. But is he a captor or a savior? He is more than happy to let her keep thinking that he is that bad guy in her story if it helps keep her at arms length.
I really enjoyed the audio and that is saying something because generally I don’t love dual but both narrators did great with the content. The book flew by and made me want to throw on a leather jacket and join the Crimson Crows ASAP… (mostly so I could maybe slap Brinley’s brother at least once.

Can’t wait for the next story!

A.L. Jackson's new series is coming out with a bang(er). Forged in Fire is everything you loved about Moonlit Ridge but more. Silas, the MMC, is big and bad but has a soft side. He's the caretaker for the family. Brinley, FMC, is a spitfire. His nickname for her is Wildfire and it's fitting. She will burn it down to protect the people she loves. Silas has his hands full with her. Lots of tension, banter, action, suspense, spice, and found family. It's well written and the story brings you in and keeps you engaged through the very end. Can't wait to read the rest of this amazing series.

Okay A.L Jackson did it again. This was such a good story. The way she weaves in the suspense with romance is chefs kiss.

My only problem with this was that it was a little too long. This could have been cut by 100 pages. I understand though wanting to give the characters their voices.

One I loved that the FMC was named Brinkley, it’s not a super common name and I love that.

This was a slow slow slow burn. I’m talking no smooching until the 50% mark but you could feel the yearning through the pages. The slow sizzle was scorching.

I can’t wait for Elena’s story next.

This was a great story, however I was not a fan of Brinley through most of it. I think my dislike of her really hurt the rating and my overall feel of the story. Again, the story was great but I just couldn’t help but roll my eyes every time it was her chapter. Both Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum did an amazing job narrating and seriously, sometimes I think I like Desiree’s male voice better than the actual male narrator (not in this case of course because duh it’s Connor Crais😉) but she’s got a great male voice!!!

What a great way to start a new series. I love a broken man who doesn't think he can love absolutely fall to his knees for a woman. She came into his life and whooped him into shape. He would do anything for her. She fit right in with his family and was such a good mom to Kai.

I can't wait for the next book and for him to lose his shit when he realizes that his sister and his best friend are together.

I received an arc from valentine pr.
