A brooding hero collides with the one woman who upends his control in this hate-to-love military romance by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin.
Hollis Avery has always been untouchable. A woman who’s never needed saving—born into wealth, power, and a family history steeped in secrets.
Until she wakes up with no memory of who she is.
The only thing that feels familiar is Jason Reed, the Delta Force operator who insists they were never friends and nothing more than teammates. Guarded and closed off, Reed keeps his distance, even as Hollis can’t ignore the pull she feels toward him, or the way his gaze lingers like he’s already lost her once and refuses to survive it again.
While they work to uncover who took her memories and why, Hollis begins to change. Stripped of the armor that once defined her, she becomes open, trusting, and dangerously honest. And Reed finds himself falling for the woman behind the legend—the one he was never meant to touch but can’t stop wanting.
As pieces of Hollis’s past come to light, so do the truths Reed has kept buried—and the fear that what they’re building belongs only to the woman she is now.
Restoring her memories is the key to protecting the legacy she was born to defend. But with time running out and danger closing in, Hollis and Reed must choose what’s worth her past…or the future neither of them was ever supposed to want.
Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.
It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.
In 2015, she published her first novel, The Safe Bet. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.
Mind blowing and page burning chemistry!!!! I felt all the emotions reading Never the Same and much like its title, I feel like I went on a life changing journey with the characters. Brittney always has a way of.bringing two broken souls together into the light and making something beautiful. Of course it has all the adventure and suspense with an ending you never see coming!!
Unfortunately, Brittney's Christian values have continued to be very prevalent in the story of this series and her more recent books. I don't mind religion in books, but especially in this romantic suspense sub-genre, the EXTREME emphasis on forgiveness and celibacy before marriage has really changed the tone of her writing. Even with these changes, there was lots of action here, and I did enjoy the romantic banter between Reed and Hollis. Hollis definitely felt like she grew the most as a character, though with the memory loss she faces. Reed didn't seem to have as much character development to me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Montlake for the free eARC in exchange for an honest review!
---------------- full review to come!
lots of action but also lots of overly Christian beliefs specifically regarding forgiveness and celibacy before marriage. I have nothing against religion but this has really changed up the tone for me with Brittney’s writing and stories
Never the Same by Brittney Sahin is published by Montlake and part of the Delta Shield Security Series. The book is labeled as military fiction. I read the blurb and was intrigued. I read the author's books in the past and liked them just fine. So why not give it a try? Firstly I'm not a fan of getting someones religion shoved into my face , no less without warning. The book should have been labeled christian. Nonetheless the writing is ok and the story is somewhat enjoyable, 3.5 stars.
Never The Same is the third (#3) book in the DELTA SHIELD SECURITY series.
Hollis Avery goes offline for a couple of days only to return with absolutely no idea who she is, the only thing that remotely feels familiar to her is Jason Reed, Delta Force Operator and the man she loves to rile.
Though Reed keeps his distance and is guarded where she’s concerned due to their previous conflicting relationship, there’s no doubt in her mind that there is chemistry between them and she is undeniably drawn to him
Vulnerable and desperate, Hollis is more open and honest than before and Reed finds himself as irrevocably attracted to this new version of her as he was to past her, even though his own secrets mean there can never be a future for them.
They work together to restore her memories and protect her family's legacy but time is running out and danger is closing in ……..

The couple who just love to ‘hate’ each other finally have their HEA but it’s not an easy route. Well, it’s Brittney Sahin right? There can’t be a happy ever after without heart wrenching angst, seat of your pants action, and plenty of deep cryptic plots.
Brittney’s ability to write engaging, deeply flawed Alpha heroes (and heroines) is unsurpassed and Reed and Hollis with their complicated history are no exception.
I found Hollis’ ‘aristocratic with a twist’ family fascinating, a interesting change to the norm and it introduces us to a handful of new and intriguing characters that I would love to see developed in future books.
Brittney inevitably gives us plenty of intricately detailed plot threads and in her usual brilliant way all leads are resolved by the end.
There is also a wonderful cornucopia of side characters from her previous series and they are very much appreciated! With appearances by Sebastian, Gwen, Carter, Easton, all the Delta Force Shield crew to name a few, plus Hollis’ family, this book is stuffed full of wonderful heroes who sometimes have to turn to the grey side in the name of defeating evil. Reeds Belgian Malinois Ranger is also a full on character in this delicious book.
There has been talk about the fact that religion plays a part in this book and that’s true. Brittney recently found God and she wouldn’t be true to herself if her faith wasn't reflected in her writing BUT it’s very gently delivered. Not in your face, just subtle mentions where her characters work to justify the juxtaposition between their beliefs and the actions they are sometimes forced to take. Are fictional heroes who have to fight and ultimately take irreversible action (I’m conscious of the sensibilities of the review process here 😉), not allowed to have a religious belief? I actually appreciate the inclusion, it makes her characters more rounded, more real.
Brittney’s writing has also developed in regards to the spicy scenes. Yes they are still there, but they are more subtle, less in your face, leaving more to your imagination to picture the scenes. It doesn’t lessen the characters relationship at all - be in no doubt Hollis and Reed’s chemistry is off the charts!! I for one am grateful for the subtlety- it seems lately that authors feel they have to include more and more shocking, detailed, open door scenes to sell books and personally I think it’s lazy. It’s much harder to convey the true depths of the characters relationship without the detailed spice, but Brittney achieves it with aplomb.
For regular readers of Brittney’s books, Gwen's book continues to be teased and we are left with a triangle between Gwen and two possible suitors. Will she find her future with one of these or will it be someone else entirely, someone she’s yet to meet? Who knows? There’s also a delightful hint of Carter being, well Carter so look out for that!
Never The Same is a traditionally published book and is releasing on July 7th 2026. I’ve read this book three times, yes three! because it’s that addictive!!
I read an ebook copy of this addictive book, with just over 400 pages (paperback edition), a stunning cover and good editing.
With thanks to Brittney Sahin for a very early read of this fantastic book. All comments are my own honest, unbiased opinion.
🥃 Enemies To Lovers 🥃 Romantic Suspense 🥃 Memory Loss 🥃 Military Suspense 🥃 Mild Spice 🥃 Plenty Of Action
I have been looking forward to Reed's story since he was introduced. Brittney, as usual, blew my mind with this one. I knew she would deliver but I was even surprised at how phenomenal this book was. It was so much more then I was expecting. I read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down. Reed and Hollis were such a perfect match with both erecting walls around their hearts to protect themselves only for them to also be the ones that tear the others walls down. The way that these 2 have toed the line between hate and friends (if that's what you want to call them) was bound to be explosive chemistry. It may have taken some time, even in their own book, to get there but boy once it erupts, there is no stopping it. They are both stubborn, hardheaded and love to push each other's buttons. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat with what the next chapter would hold for these two. So much detail that I am sure I missed some details and will definitely be grabbing the audio for my re-read. Reed has a protective streak and will fiercely protect anyone, but those closest to him are on another level. He may not where his emotions on his sleeve, there is no doubt about his loyalty. Such an incredible character and Hollis is just as amazing. She is a badass in her own right and is just as fiercely loyal to those closest to her. Even without the memory of who she is, this loyalty comes through with a ferociousness that cannot be denied. The new characters she introduces in this story are going to be fun to watch. Specifically, her oldest brother Gideon. All her siblings are awesome in their own right with their own baggage and issues.
I have read every book Brittney has published, and I am still astounded at the creativity and details she puts into these stories. The twists of the twist and ALL the secrets just left me speechless. I am truly struggling to put into words how great the book is and I am still coming up blank. It's been 3 days since reading and these characters and this story won't leave my mind. Brittney's books always give me book hangovers, and I have to do an easy read next because these guys get hung up in my head. Never mind the cameos. Always my favorite part of any Brittney book is seeing who she is going to have pop in for a visit. I think she threw just about everyone into this story, one way or the other. Two of my all-time favorites in one room- can't believe it didn't burn from them being together or that I didn't melt at the imagery. Throw in my 3rd via offscreen cameo and I was one happy girl. The teasing for Gwen's book and who she will end up with has me all sorts of antsy for her story. Oh the possibilities with that one will be fun.
Thrilling, emotionally charged, and impossible to put down.
Never the Same delivers deep soul-searing emotion and a suspenseful story; a buildup to an earth-shattering climax, both in action and surprise twists and turns. You never quite know who to trust or where the next betrayal might come from, and that tension grips you from the first page and refuses to let go.
The characters are wonderfully written and get deep under your skin. Even the supporting cast is so well developed that they feel worthy of their own stories (and I very much hope we’ll get them someday). Reed, the quiet genius, and Hollis, a warrior who has battled darkness her entire life, are compelling both individually and together. Their connection was first sparked in Into the Deep. It ignites here; it feels intense and intimate. Their pull toward each other is personal and powerful. Every interaction, every decision, every moment feels intentional. It explodes on the page and truly conveys the idea of only for you.
I love the meticulous attention to detail I always find in a Brittney Sahin book. It completely immerses me in the story from the beginning and stays with me long after I’m done reading and nursing a giant book hangover. From South Carolina to Italy, the Czech Republic, and England, the story unfolds, blending action, danger, and emotion in a way that keeps you breathless. The mission, the stakes, and the threat build to an explosive, unforgettable climax that delivers on both action and emotional payoff.
My advice? Open the book, hold on, and enjoy the ride. You won’t find a better way to spend your time than inside a Brittney Sahin story.
Never the Same (Delta Shield Security Book 3) By @brittneysahin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️ Jason Reed is the third member of Delta Shield. He's grumpy and guarded, revealing nothing about himself to others. We first met Celeste "Hollis" in Book 2. She the best friend to Audrey whose husband works with Reed. She's also mysterious because she's always going on secret missions. Reed and Hollis seem like oil and water, always bickering. Hollis loves pushing his buttons and breaking into his house.
When Hollis goes missing for 24 hours, her brothers recruit Delta to help find her. When she turns up she's lost her memory, not knowing who she is. The only comfort she finds is when she's around Reed.
This book is part of a trilogy and an interconnected stand-alone but the author does a great job of explaining who everyone is. This story brings in several characters from crossover series in order to use all resources available to help figure out who abducted and drugged Hollis, and how to retrieve her lost memories. Hollis decides to stay with Reed until she knows who else to trust. Maintaining distance is challenging. Touches and undeniable attraction prove too difficult to resist. Heart-to-hearts and secrets are shared, deepening their bond.
Their story is heartwarming and action-packed with plenty of twists as only Ms. Sahin can do and you will not only love Reed and Hollis, but his Belgian Malinois, Ranger, as well. We get teasers for Gwen's upcoming book, but I'm no closer to knowing who her love interest will be than before. LOL! I can't recommend this book and series enough!!!
Action packed, adventures, suspense, betrayal, and secrets.......
Never the Same is the 3rd book of Delta Shield Security by Brittney Sahin. I have to say, this story was my favorite out of the three. Jason Reed and Hollis Avery have an interesting "relationship". In the previous books you could tell there was some love/hate, sexual tension brewing between these two. Well, this book it finally happened, it all came to light and made for a great story!
Jason is a Delta operative, retired from the Army, and a closed book. Hollis is a baddy in her own right. She has power, a great right hook(among many kick ass skills), money and family secrets. Jason and the other Delta Shield operatives team up with Hollis' family (along with MANY cameos from Falcon Falls Security, The Costa Family, Stealth Ops, and Dublin Nights), since Hollis goes missing and once they track her down, she has no memory of who she is or who they are. The only thing she does know is that she feels safe around Jason.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! I highly recommend this story! I read this over 2 days, mostly because I had to sleep. But I didn't want to put it down. There were so many surprises and twists I didn't know what to expect next! All the cameos and then the possibility of a tease regarding her next book just did me in, I squealed each time someone was mentioned and I have my fingers crossed for who I think should be/will be in the next book!!
I absolutely loved this book, just like the previous two in the series, it completely pulled me in.
Never the Same has everything I’ve come to expect from Brittney Sahin: suspense, emotional tension, and that kind of romance that feels intense but also fragile. The whole memory-loss aspect added such an interesting layer, especially seeing Hollis trying to piece herself back together while also navigating her connection with Reed.
What I really enjoyed was the dynamic between them. There’s this push and pull, where you can feel that history between them—even when she can’t remember it, and it creates so much tension. Reed, especially, felt very guarded and emotionally complex, which made his moments of vulnerability hit even harder.
The story also balances action and emotion really well. There’s danger, secrets, and a constant sense that something bigger is going on, but at the same time, the emotional journey never gets lost. Watching Hollis evolve without the weight of her past was honestly one of my favorite parts.
If I had to nitpick, I’d say some parts felt a bit predictable in terms of the romance, but honestly, I didn’t mind because the emotional payoff was still there.
Overall, this book gave me the same feeling as the previous ones in the series, completely hooked, emotionally invested, and not wanting it to end. Brittney Sahin just knows how to deliver that perfect mix of action, angst, and romance.
Whenever I open a Brittney Sahin book, I know I’m in for an action packed time. That holds true in this 3rd installment of the Delta Force series.
I think I’ve probably said it in every review of her books, but her mind is a fascinating place. She expertly weaves action and suspense. This book had me constantly changing my mind about who the bad guy was. That’s exactly what I want in a romantic suspense book.
I really loved all the info we get about Hollis’ family in this book. She’s been a bit of a mystery thus far in this series, and what we learn is eye opening. She displays tremendous character growth here. And Reed. Man, I just want to wrap that grumpy, broody man up in a big hug. His life has been anything but easy. I just love how he and Hollis bring out the best in each other.
And we can’t forget about the cameos from some of our favorite characters from past books. I always get a huge smile on my face whenever a certain fork wielding man pops up!
If you’ve read any of her previous series, you’ll notice that this series, and, in particular this book, includes more religion and faith-based content. This does not take away from the story at all as it’s woven into the story in a way that makes sense. There is also decidedly less spice. This is more of a closed door romance, although the door is slightly ajar in a couple of places. Again, this did not detract from the story for me at all.
That ending? I absolutely cannot wait for Gwen’s book!
Reed & Hollis are major dislike to lovers, or so it seems at first. they can't stand each other, constantly poking at and pushing at the other until someone snaps or leaves... but under the pushing and mutual dislike, there's yearning and strong feelings, terrifying emotions that neither want, nor are prepared for. Reed doesn't do people. he doesn't like most of them, doesn't need any of them, doesn't want to talk to them, and absolutely refuses to share anything about himself with them. Hollis is playful, snarky, sarcastic, and dangerous. she's full of secrets, and the only relationships she wants or needs is the friendship she has with her best friend, Audrey, and Audrey's son, Chase. Jason Reed is a fun distraction to poke and push, but she's not interested in getting to know him otherwise, or is she?? Reed wants nothing to do with the sly woman who repeatedly breaks into his house to get him riled up, but when Hollis goes missing, he can't help but be concerned. when a terrified Hollis returns without any memory of who she is, he'll do whatever it takes to bring back the feisty woman he suddenly can't live without. I love Brittney's way of writing these military romantic suspense novels. I love that they tug at my heartstrings, make me laugh out loud, get my blood pumping and make me feel wrapped in a warm hug all in a single story. this story has everything I love, and while it's a very slow burn with forced proximity, it hits perfectly with well-timed cameos from former characters, fantastic banter and a sweet and spicy romance. absolutely loved this HEA and am excited to see what happens next in Brittney's world. HIGHLY recommend this (and each prior!) series.
I am giving an honest review of an ARC copy - thank you to Brittney Sahin and NetGalley!
I received an ARC of Never the Same thanks to the publisher through NetGalley and leave this review voluntarily.
Never the Same is the third book in the Delta Shield Security series. While you do not need to have read the first two books (I didn't, but now will), there are aspects of the book that feel confusing without that reference. There are also multiple other series that have characters that float into the story. While I love that idea, the story got bogged down by all the name dropping, which is what lead to the confusing feeling. Again, you don't need to really know who these characters are. You learn the important ones without issue, but the feeling like I SHOULD know these other characters left me feeling like a puzzle piece was missing. That being said, I really loved these characters. The story was told in dual POV and learning the inner thoughts of the two main characters, especially as they pertained to each other (it is a romance), was fantastic. The complexity of the main plot point and the follow up to it, where really well done. I definitely recommend this book and if you feel like you want that puzzle piece, I encourage you to read the rest of Sahin's books. I plan to. The writing and voice were perfect for me so I definitely want to get caught up.
If you have followed this author for a long time, like I have, you will notice a very abrupt shift in her based off her recent religious findings. What I will say is that if you are reading her books for the military suspense, "who done it" and angst, this book follows right along with it. But her books now have no smut in them at all. Even scenes that can be considered "sexier" are extremely short and mild.
The book itself goes back and forth on who the bad guy is - which I always love so it takes a while for you to figure it all out... What I did like was that a lot of questions we had about Hollis, her family and some other characters is explained. What I did not like was that the characters seemed to have lost who they were in this story. Hollis is always the strong woman - and she had her memories stolen from her, which reduced her to being a bit more of a damsel in distress. Reed is the tough and broody one - and from the moment he finds Hollis with no memory, he is more of a cupcake than anything... his tough exterior pretty much just vanishes and he doesnt feel like he stays true to who he is as a person.
While I loved learning more about the characters and their backgrounds, I didn't necessarily feel the storyline went as fluid as it should have.
Well another rollercoaster from Britney to close out this series!! I have been waiting for Hollis and Reed’s story as I’m sure everyone has and it does not disappoint. From all the little Easter Eggs(song titles as example) to bringing around all our favorite characters in the past and hopefully the future. From the heat not just in chemistry but suspense this story keeps you on your toes. DGU… man when you find out what that means it’s going to hit you. Just like my favorite quote, “Only way to move in a direction that isn’t backwards is by doing something different, something you’ve never done before.“ When the characters would form questions it then makes you question along with them. Then when you think you have it figured out, jokes on you another curveball. Without giving anything away. The story of Hollis and Reed will give you all the emotions. Last but not least, Gwen… shew I cannot wait to see what’s in store going forward her and hopefully other characters(Will Hollis’ family get a series???)
This is book 3 in the Delta Shield security series by Brittney Sahin. Basically it’s about a military operator who’s antagonistic “co-worker” ends up with memory loss and the only person she feels safe with is the one military operator who says they couldn’t stand each other. So, then why does she feel like they are ment to be when she doesn’t even know herself or her family?! I absolutely loved the storyline for this book. I would classify it as a suspenseful romance. The way Brittney builds up the main characters, Hollis Avery and Jason Rees and the way she intertwines characters from the previous books is beyond seamless. The twist and turns keep you hooked until the very end. Will Hollis figure out what happened to her and who did it? Will Jason get the one woman he should never have wanted? Or will it all blow up in their faces as they seek the truth.
NEVER THE SAME I honestly don’t how it’s possible that Brittney’s writing gets better with each book she writes. I have been waiting for Reed’s story since we met him in Against All Odds. The quiet one but with so much to tell. Reed’s book had me hooked from the 1st page and I couldn’t put it down. His and Hollis’ story has a lot of emotion from both parties that you just want to hug them both and cry along with them. The plot twists were fantastic and will definitely keep you on your toes. You think you have figured it out then something else throws you off the scent. This book has a lot of emotion In but with plenty of tension and action. It’s always good to catch up with a few old friends who are there waiting In the wings if needed. Again another exciting book and I hope you all love it as much as I did. Keep a look out for the Easter eggs that Brittney likes to slot in for future books. 😉.
Never the Same is a book of intrigue, action and a slow building romance between Jason and Hollis. We find that Hollis holds her cards close to the vest and doesn't share much about her personal life, but during the book those details slowly come forth. The tidbits of her past and the life she led disappear when Hollis loses her memory and the Delta Shield team steps up to help her uncover what happened to her.
Jason, a part of the Delta Shield team is part of her past that she cannot remember, but Hollis feels safe with him and ends up staying with him to help uncover the mystery.
Like with all of Brittney's books, there is layers upon layers of mystery. I have yet to guess the whodunnit in any of her books and this is no exception. I am amazed by how the author weaves the threads together within her books and highly encourage readers to snap up this book. If you have never read this author before, you are missing a true treat!
Reed and Hollis are just perfection!!! I have been excited for Reed's story since he was first introduced and loved Hollis from the start as well. I love a strong heroine that can take care of business and herself and a grumpy hero that really has a big heart underneath that grumpiness. I just can't say enough great things about this one. Their story takes you on an emotional journey and you just know they are meant to be together the way she feels him in her soul as her safe place. This book has all the suspense we love in a Brittney book with those cameos from our past book boyfriends are on point and of course that steamy chemistry between Hollis and Reed. This book had me on the edge of my seat wanting to flip the pages faster at times and then wanting to savor them also. Never the Same will leave you feeling exactly like that and the sneak peaks into Gwen's book will leave you ready to find out who her love interest will be. This was my favorite book in the series and I absolute loved them all but Reed and Hollis definitely came out on top in my opinion.
I have been not-so-patiently waiting for this story. I had no idea Jason Reed was going to be this amazing. The sexy, alpha, broken hero was definitely swoon worthy from operator to husband! Seeing his vulnerable side absolutely obliterated my heart! I knew it was going to be magic when he finally gave in to what he was really feeling. I also knew I was going to love the softer side of the badass that is Hollis. He’s always felt protective of her and when she finds herself in trouble, he will go through hell and back to make sure she is safe again. Nothing in this book will disappoint you! Every book Brittney writes, I say the same thing: how the hell does she do this time and time again? It phenomenal. It’s edge of the seat from beginning to end! When I think I know where it’s going, it doesn’t. It’s always the perfect amount of suspense, action and spice to keep me wanting more. I cannot wait to see Easton and Gwen’s story play out!
Jason Reed did not have a good life as a child. He joined the military at 18 just to get away from his loser parents. After his military career Ryder Lawson offers him a job working for his new security firm Delta Force. He jumps at the chance.
He meets Hollis during one of their ops and it’s an instant oil and water situation. Hollis has made it her mission to be the biggest pain in his a** she can be to him. Neither one of them is willing to admit the chemistry they have.
Fast forward and Hollis goes missing. Her family enlists Delta Forces help to find her. Forced into close proximity Hollis and Reed must confront the feelings they know are growing between them.
This is book number 3 in the Delta Force series. I would read the other 2 before I read this one.
Never the Same is everything you've come to expect form a Brittney Sahin book, well written and researched. You've got suspense that keeps you always second guessing what's next, where they are going, and who the real villain is. You'll be certain to fall in love right along as the main characters work out their relationship. As the main characters work out their feeling and solve the case, we get to have cameos from past characters and meet new characters that set up for future books. If you are looking for a book that keeps your attention, gives you all the feels and builds onto a universe you'll fall into, I highly recommend this book/author. This book can be read as a standalone but is better off being read after the ones before, even if just from the start of the series, as you'll get a full understanding of supporting past characters. Happy Reading!!!
I am going to acknowledge the change in spice and the over all religion in this book and say that while I don't love those changes, I understand where the changes are coming from as Brittney herself has explained the how's and why's on her social media accounts. I will continue to read her stories because her writing just keeps getting better, and at this point I am invested in this world that she has created.
Now on to Hollis and Reed, They are perfect for each other and their story has to go the way that it's written. This isn't the first or last story where a reader is going to be upset with the idea of "bad things happening to good people" (Hollis) or the idea that someone can't see themselves for who they really are (Reed). But if a story doesn't make you feel a range of emotions then what's the point in reading it to begin with?
Wow - I started this book late last night and didn’t stop till I was done!
I absolutely LOVE Jason Reed. I hate that he feels like he is less due to his past but love that Hollis barged right through his insecurities and pretty much showed her stubbornness till he accepted lol! Hollis is also nothing short of a bad ass so did he honestly have a chance at pushing her away? lol, he sure tried. I have laughed, I have sat in shock, nearly cried.. just all over the place.. totally would read again though!
I am always in awe at the books Brittney writes… she doesn’t just tell a story, she takes us on an action packed journey.
As always, I love that we also get to have crossovers from other books/series.. Sebastian and Carter 🔥🥵
Just finished Never the Same. I loved it! Reed and Hollis have been friends with an underlying attraction for each other for several years. They have operated in different circles but Hollis always made her way back to Reed and his team for her normal time. When a traitor in Hollis’ circle takes her memories, Reed realized Hollis was way more important to him than friendship. In order to get Hollis’ memories back they will have to bring in all of teams to find out who is responsible for taking Hollis’ memories. We readers get to travel to the Sapphire Hotel, have Gwen help uncover lost footage and revisit characters from previous books. Never the Same kept me guessing throughout the entire book. I highly recommend Never the Same.
I received this read as an ARC and was unaware of the existence of the whole universe so the beginning of this book was a bit off putting. Once I got that figured out I got into the book really quickly.
I really enjoyed the character dynamics between Hollis and Reed, it felt a bit forced in the beginning but became a lot more natural as the book went on. Storyline was a bit predictable but I still enjoyed the twist and turns of every chapter.
Overall, book was good, does it make me want to read the entire universe right now ? Maybe if I didn’t read this one first but it makes me curious of what I missed in the other books.
As always, Brittney, you did it again!! Love the action, mystery and the chemistry of this book... definite page turner, you think you have it figured out only to have your mind blown and your jaw drop in the next page! I 100% agree with Brittney that bringing characters from her other stories in to her current story totally keeps them alive... and of course I love Carter and Sebastian's friendship and how they can work together on dangerous missions, yet still find a way to smile, even if its small... and you just never know what utensil Carter's going to use to help save the day... fork, knife, spoon.. you just never know... thank you for another amazing read!!
Never The Same, Delta Shield Security By Brittney Sahin -Review This book was once again a pleasure to read. Brittney has a way of writing a slow burn book that keeps you coming back for more. We learn in this book why Jason Reed is such a non people person, grumpy grump and can only handle having a dog in his day to day life for the most part. We also learn so much more about Hollis. I felt like this book was what you would could call two lost souls finding each other and even digging deep and figuring out about themselves. They make choices and choices are made for them but in the end it’s a HEA! Brittney takes you through the slow burn and some faith to get you there but it’s a great read and who can’t use a little bit of Faith, Hope and Love these days!! Read the book you will love the 3rd installment of Delta Shield Security
Like others have said, this book definitely leans a bit more on faith and has less spice than Brittney’s earlier work, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s an incredibly well written story. Brittney does an amazing job creating characters who have layers and depth and who you will always root for. I adored Hollis from the minute we met her in a previous book and have been anxious to learn more about Reed since his introduction.
This story is packed with action, suspense, and the twists and turns I’ve come to expect from a Brittney Sahin book. It did not disappoint, and as always, left me anxious for the next story she gives us.
Never the Same is the final book in Sahin's Delta Shield Security series. This book definitely gave me Alias vibes, for anyone else who is a fan of one of the best shows of the early 2000s. Hollis has lost her memory and the Delta Shield team joins forces with her family to figure out why and how to get it back. She and Reed have always had a "love to hate" relationship, but when he's the only one she inexplicably feels comfortable around post-amnesia, he becomes her protector. As with any Sahin book, expect lots of twist and turns for an ending you didn't see coming.

Never The Same is the third installment of the Delta Shield Security series. This is the best book in the series. It’s a fun read with the suspense, action, strong main characters and crossover of much loved characters from other series. Hollis is a badass with no memory and Jason Reed does anything to help her get it back. Along the way, they forget that they never really liked each other much. With the help of the Delta Security team, Hollis’ family and a few crossover characters, Jason will stop at nothing to protect her. As with all of Brittney’s books, expect intriguing plot twists that culminate with an unexpected ending. If you enjoy romantic suspense trope, you will love this book!
