Unfortunately, Brittney's Christian values have continued to be very prevalent in the story of this series and her more recent books. I don't mind religion in books, but especially in this romantic suspense sub-genre, the EXTREME emphasis on forgiveness and celibacy before marriage has really changed the tone of her writing. Even with these changes, there was lots of action here, and I did enjoy the romantic banter between Reed and Hollis. Hollis definitely felt like she grew the most as a character, though with the memory loss she faces. Reed didn't seem to have as much character development to me.

The book is labeled as military fiction.
I read the blurb and was intrigued. I read the author's books in the past and liked them just fine. So why not give it a try?
Firstly I'm not a fan of getting someones religion shoved into my face , no less without warning. The book should have been labeled christian.
Nonetheless the writing is ok and the story is somewhat enjoyable, 3.5 stars.

This is my final book from Brittney Sahin, and I’ve read a lot of her books. The religious tendencies are too much honestly. It feels pushed and doesn’t fit whatsoever. You’re going to kill people but talk about not having sex before marriage? Give me a break.

It hurts me to only give this book 2 stars as I have been a huge Brittney fan from the beginning but her stories changed once she found God. Her subtle infusion of religious teachings are annoying and frankly don't fit with her genre of spicy military suspense romance. It's disappointing and sad to see how much of her style is now influenced by her new beliefs. I am sad to admit I no longer get excited to read her new releases and they are painful to get through. I would have punched Jason Reed in the face for being a whiny baby and definitely would have let him continue to be celibate until he got married again. These books lack the spice, intensity and page turning intrigue that her pre-"found religion" books contain and makes me doubt interest in future books. 😞
The last 20% of the book is a typical Brittney book with fast paced suspense and twists in the plot. The first 80% could have been condensed, I was tempted to DNF. I'm glad I finished it as it sets up for All That Remains. Crossing my fingers that that book is better.

Mind blowing and page burning chemistry!!!! I felt all the emotions reading Never the Same and much like its title, I feel like I went on a life changing journey with the characters. Brittney always has a way of.bringing two broken souls together into the light and making something beautiful. Of course it has all the adventure and suspense with an ending you never see coming!!

This story was about Reed and Hollis, a frenemies to lovers (but not until married) with action tale. The good of the story was the action and suspense. It had great twists and turns. But I really prefer my action and romance without religious overtones. If this is the direction of the rest of the series, then I will move on from this author. As a non-Christian, I prefer books that don’t feel preachy to me.

Wow, what an intense, exciting and a story full of drama . The missions are top secret and never knowing what could happen next. The disappearing of one of their own, has them all working together for answers. The secrets are about to come to light, with more and more questions. Absolutely loved this story.

July 10, 2026This might be one of my favorite books in the new Delta series because it felt like we pulled together a lot of loose threads from other series, though beyond that, some of it was a bit sanctimonious for me. While I loved getting more insight into Hollis, I wish we’d had a book with more of the aspects of her character that were mentioned in the book before. It felt a bit of a switch to be introduced to her as a highly skilled operator and then have her largely neutralized in her book before choosing a fairly traditional existence. I understand why, but wish we’d been able to get into more of the family history that prompted the events of this book. Maybe with the possibility of Julian playing a role in Gwen’s book we’ll learn more. A girl can hope!

The couple who just love to ‘hate’ each other finally have their HEA but it’s not an easy route. Well, it’s Brittney Sahin right? There can’t be a happy ever after without heart wrenching angst, seat of your pants action, and plenty of deep cryptic plots.
Brittney’s ability to write engaging, deeply flawed Alpha heroes (and heroines) is unsurpassed and Reed and Hollis with their complicated history are no exception.
I found Hollis’ ‘aristocratic with a twist’ family fascinating, a interesting change to the norm and it introduces us to a handful of new and intriguing characters that I would love to see developed in future books.
Brittney inevitably gives us plenty of intricately detailed plot threads and in her usual brilliant way all leads are resolved by the end.
There is also a wonderful cornucopia of side characters from her previous series and they are very much appreciated! With appearances by Sebastian, Gwen, Carter, Easton, all the Delta Force Shield crew to name a few, plus Hollis’ family, this book is stuffed full of wonderful heroes who sometimes have to turn to the grey side in the name of defeating evil. Reeds Belgian Malinois Ranger is also a full on character in this delicious book.
There has been talk about the fact that religion plays a part in this book and that’s true. Brittney recently found God and she wouldn’t be true to herself if her faith wasn't reflected in her writing BUT it’s very gently delivered. Not in your face, just subtle mentions where her characters work to justify the juxtaposition between their beliefs and the actions they are sometimes forced to take. Are fictional heroes who have to fight and ultimately take irreversible action (I’m conscious of the sensibilities of the review process here 😉), not allowed to have a religious belief? I actually appreciate the inclusion, it makes her characters more rounded, more real.
Brittney’s writing has also developed in regards to the spicy scenes. Yes they are still there, but they are more subtle, less in your face, leaving more to your imagination to picture the scenes. It doesn’t lessen the characters relationship at all - be in no doubt Hollis and Reed’s chemistry is off the charts!! I for one am grateful for the subtlety- it seems lately that authors feel they have to include more and more shocking, detailed, open door scenes to sell books and personally I think it’s lazy. It’s much harder to convey the true depths of the characters relationship without the detailed spice, but Brittney achieves it with aplomb.
For regular readers of Brittney’s books, Gwen's book continues to be teased and we are left with a triangle between Gwen and two possible suitors. Will she find her future with one of these or will it be someone else entirely, someone she’s yet to meet? Who knows? There’s also a delightful hint of Carter being, well Carter so look out for that!

Never the Same is the third and final book in the Delta Shield Security series. As the trilogy’s conclusion, it carries an immense emotional weight, wrapping up overarching series arcs while delivering the most intense stakes yet. Brittney Sahin always delivers incredible romantic suspense, but the relationship dynamic in Never the Same is easily one of my favorites in the entire Delta Shield Security universe. It is nuanced, fast paced, and a page-turner. Balancing witty banter, aching longing, and high-stakes tension, Never the Same is an addictive and intoxicating romantic suspense novel that makes for an unforgettable reading experience.
I am completely blown away by Reed and Hollis. The chemistry between these two is electric from the very first page. Brittney Sahin always delivers incredible romantic suspense, but the relationship dynamic in Never the Same is easily one of my favorites in the entire Delta Shield Security universe. It is nuanced, fast paced, and a page-turner. Balancing witty banter, aching longing, and high-stakes tension, Never the Same is an addictive and intoxicating romantic suspense novel that makes for an unforgettable reading experience.

Never the Same is the third book in the Delta Shield Security series.
We met Jason Reed - only known as Reed - as part of Delta Shield in the first book, along with teammates Ryder & Alex. We aren’t privy to his backstory in either of the first 2 books, only that while he is solidly behind his team, he is a not only quiet & reserved, but is really a closed book. And of course, this makes him all the more intriguing.
We also met Hollis in previous stories. There is some mystery around her casual comings & goings, a story even her best friend Audrey (Ryder’s wife) doesn’t know. But she turns out to be a total baddy, coming from a family dedicated to righting evils in the world, much like Reed.
It’s clear Hollis & Reed have an attraction, but both seem firmly dedicated to dancing around it instead of acknowledging it. Their sharp banter reveals more about their shared vulnerabilities than it hides, & it made them both more endearing. I loved the push & pull, & their reluctance to make their relationship something casual is a hallmark of Brittney’s writing. When Hollis’ life is thrown into turmoil, she knows Reed is the one she can trust to help her figure it out & keep her safe while doing it. Reed knows that being drawn deeper into her life will change him in ways he is not looking for, but he can’t say no. The race to bring resolution to the threat to Hollis takes them - along with the team - down a dangerous path through England, Europe, & beyond. But I loved that they journey was just as much about their mutual healing.
Once again, Brittney brings so many twists & layers. I truly never had any idea where the story was going. I love that Brittney is so devoted to bringing the details for her readers - every story (& I’ve read every book) makes you a believer. She weaves suspense & romance & world events together in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat while wanting more. And in what is always a favorite element for me, she brings in favorite characters from previous stories, keeping us updated on their lives & making us love them even more.
This particular story had a science fiction element that is not my personal favorite, but it added to the characters in a meaningful way. What I did love is that these characters, Reed in particular, leaned on their faith and were authentic in their expression of it. It made the story more meaningful to me.
And as always, we are left waiting for the story in Brittney’s world!

There’s a reason Brittney Sahin is my favorite military romantic suspense author, and Never the Same is yet another reminder of why she continues to set the standard for the genre. From the very first page, I was completely hooked and couldn't put this book down.
Jason Reed, a member of Delta Security Shield whom we first met in All Against the Odds, completely stole my heart. Quiet, broody, and burdened by a lifetime of guilt, he believes he is undeserving of love or happiness. Yet through faith, redemption, and unwavering determination, he has become a man of incredible strength and integrity. His journey is emotional, inspiring, and beautifully written.
Hollis (Celeste) Avery Wyndham is equally unforgettable. Coming from a family of warriors and royalty, she carries generations of secrets on her shoulders. I absolutely loved her courage, resilience, and fierce spirit. She refuses to let her past define her or allow herself to become a victim. She is intelligent, strong, compassionate, and every bit Jason's equal.

Hollis has a problem. She has a huge hole in her memory. The one thing she can remember is a recurring dream that doesn’t make any sense. Reed has known Hollis for a while but he has never seen her unsure of herself. They have always had a hate/aggravate relationship but now they need to help each other. Maybe Hollis and Reed can find a way to make her dream a reality!
The crew of Delta Sheild protects their own and they have decided Hollis is among that number. I love the relationship that Hollis has with all of the members of Delta Sheild. I like the fact that she grew up rich and trained to kill. Her family is complicated and interesting. The fact that at home she gets called Lady Celeste Hollis was funny to me. I felt so bad for Hollis. She just wants to live a life like the team at Delta Sheild but she has so much family baggage it seems impossible. Reed is an operator in every sense of the term. He is intelligent, well trained and willing to do whatever it takes to succeed. His love for Hollis is obvious from the very beginning. I believed that he would turn the world upside down to protect her. He is a good character. He had a hard start to his life so it’s cool to see how the author made him part of the team and then gave him Hollis to love.
There are a lot of other characters in the book. They are all needed to push the story forward. A couple of times I had trouble keeping everyone straight and the roles they were playing!
The bad guy is really bad. I’m not going to give it away but I will say that I had a couple of different people in mind for being the bad guy. When it all was revealed, I was excited. I got it partially right and partially wrong. It was a good reveal and it added an emotional punch to the story that I didn’t expect.

I've been waiting for Reed and Hollis' story for SO long and it was everything I hoped for and so much more 🥹These two have been driving each other crazy since the very beginning, constantly pushing each other's buttons, pretending they couldn't stand each other meanwhile the chemistry has been SCREAMING at us the whole time. Watching all that tension finally explode? Absolutely worth the wait!
I LOVED the amnesia trope in this one because it completely changed their dynamic. Seeing Hollis so vulnerable while Reed was trying SO hard to keep his distance absolutely wrecked me? He's protective, broody, stubborn, basically everything I love in a book boyfriend. And watching those walls slowly come down? I was MELTING 🫠
The romance was everything, but can we PLEASE talk about the suspense?! Every chapter had me changing my mind and every twist had me questioning everything ! And of courseTHE CAMEOS 🥹 You already know this is one of my favorite things about Brittney's books. Seeing familiar faces always makes me so happy, and I already know I'm going to become obsessed with some of these new characters too 👀

Received this as an ARC, and going in as a devoted Brittney Sahin reader and a military romance lover, I already knew I’d be in for something intense—Never the Same did not disappoint.
Hollis Avery is such a standout heroine. She starts off as this almost untouchable figure—wealthy, powerful, emotionally guarded—and then everything shifts when she loses her memory. Watching her rediscover herself without the weight of her past was one of the most compelling parts of the story. There’s a vulnerability to her that contrasts beautifully with hints of the formidable woman she used to be.
Jason Reed is peak broody military hero—closed off, disciplined, and clearly carrying history he refuses to unpack. His dynamic with Hollis is filled with tension from the start. He insists they were nothing more than teammates, but everything about the way he watches her and keeps his distance says otherwise. That emotional restraint paired with undeniable pull? Exactly what I want in this genre.
The romance builds with a slow, aching intensity. There’s longing, confusion, and this constant question of whether what’s developing between them belongs to who Hollis is now or who she used to be. Reed’s internal struggle really elevates the story—he’s torn between protecting himself and not being able to let her go again.
The action and suspense elements are woven in seamlessly, keeping the pacing tight and the stakes high. The mystery surrounding Hollis’s missing memories adds an extra layer of intrigue, though I did wish the final pieces came together with just a bit more depth.

As a long time reader of Brittney Sahin, I’m always excited to start one of her books. Brittney has had a different shift in her life personally and it shows in her newest book for sure. “Never the Same” is an action packed and twisted military suspense with a minimal side of romance that concluded the “Delta Shield Security" series.
Hollis Avery is a woman who never needs help. She’s fierce and independent until one day she wakes up and has no idea who she is. She’s confused but when she sees Jason Reed, there is an unknown comfort in his presence. But to Reed, they have always just been teammates and never friends. But Hollis continues to feel something deep and connected with him as they work on getting her memories back. Bit by bit, the past is revealed but the danger that harmed Hollis is still out there.
Despite the book having very little romance and the romance that was in it felt minimal and rushed, Brittney’s writing is always amazing. She has a knack for weaving an suspenseful and incredible storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Hollis is brave, smart and was very determined to figure out what happened to her. She felt in the dark on anything that happened in the past but still felt very drawn to Reed. He was a safe space in the chaotic world she found herself in. Reed is a protector through and through and his first priority was to make sure Hollis was safe once she was recovered by the team. They might have not been friends before she lost her memory but there still was a connection even Reed couldn’t deny. I loved having some past appearances from previous characters in other series, it shows how much detail and thoughts she put into her books. The ending was good and wrapped up the series.

Wow! This one packs a punch!
Reed and Hollis have been dancing around their attraction and aggressively flirting with snippy comments throughout the series, they have baggage, both known and alluded to. Here they are both stripped bare and the "wine and vinegar" personalities that should never be mixed are dissolved, revealing an attraction and chemistry that is not only soul deep, but is strong enough to survive the loss of everything....even her memory. We know Hollis as the feisty, slightly reckless, very confident, lone wolf operator that has crossed some of Delta Shields missions but never lets anything about herself slip. She has many, many secrets, from Audrey, from Delta Shield and from her family, but some secrets are dangerous and this one...may just cost her everything. When she is kidnapped Delta Team find her, but she has no memory of who she is, who they are, what her mission was or who took her. But worse than that, she is....nice. They not only took her memory, they have also taken her fire, her sass and her confidence.
Hollis has always been a pain in Reed's ass, but vulnerable Hollis, she is a complication he never saw coming. A complication in the very best way and, after getting his story, his demons and his fears, all of which crushed me, we realise she is a complication he needed. And remember Jason, DGU because you have so many RTBH....with many, many more pictures to be added to that folder in the future!
I love the emotionally broken warriors of Delta Shield and here we get a crossover with..... everyone, so what more could we ask for? I already liked grumpy Reed and sassy Hollis, but in-love Jason and memory-loss Hollis completely wrecked me as they stole my heart. I listened to this on Audible with Kindle Unlimited.

When Hollis goes missing for 24 hours, her brothers recruit Delta to help find her. When she turns up she's lost her memory, not knowing who she is. The only comfort she finds is when she's around Reed.
This book is part of a trilogy and an interconnected stand-alone but the author does a great job of explaining who everyone is. This story brings in several characters from crossover series in order to use all resources available to help figure out who abducted and drugged Hollis, and how to retrieve her lost memories. Hollis decides to stay with Reed until she knows who else to trust. Maintaining distance is challenging. Touches and undeniable attraction prove too difficult to resist. Heart-to-hearts and secrets are shared, deepening their bond.
Their story is heartwarming and action-packed with plenty of twists as only Ms. Sahin can do and you will not only love Reed and Hollis, but his Belgian Malinois, Ranger, as well. We get teasers for Gwen's upcoming book, but I'm no closer to knowing who her love interest will be than before. LOL! I can't recommend this book and series enough!!!

In the previous books you could tell there was some love/hate, sexual tension brewing between these two. Well, this book it finally happened, it all came to light and made for a great story!
Jason is a Delta operative, retired from the Army, and a closed book. Hollis is a baddy in her own right. She has power, a great right hook(among many kick ass skills), money and family secrets. Jason and the other Delta Shield operatives team up with Hollis' family (along with MANY cameos from Falcon Falls Security, The Costa Family, Stealth Ops, and Dublin Nights), since Hollis goes missing and once they track her down, she has no memory of who she is or who they are. The only thing she does know is that she feels safe around Jason.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! I highly recommend this story! I read this over 2 days, mostly because I had to sleep. But I didn't want to put it down. There were so many surprises and twists I didn't know what to expect next! All the cameos and then the possibility of a tease regarding her next book just did me in, I squealed each time someone was mentioned and I have my fingers crossed for who I think should be/will be in the next book!!

Jason Reed is the main male character and part of Delta Security Shield. We first met him in All Against the Odds. He is quiet, broody, and carries so much guilt in his soul. He feels undeserving of love and happiness, but through faith, he has turned his life around and become a stronger man because of it.
Hollis (Celeste) Avery Wyndham comes from a family of warriors and royalty, carrying secrets that span generations. I loved her spunk, her strength, and the fact that she refuses to be a victim. She is a true fighter in every sense of the word.
What do I love most about Brittney Sahin’s storytelling—aside from everything? The way she develops her characters is pure magic. You truly feel like these characters are real, and when characters from previous books show up, it makes the story even better. It feels like a family reunion, and you can’t help but love every second of it.
The ability Ms. Sahin has to create these worlds and characters is genius. I honestly don’t know how she does it, but her imagination never ceases to amaze me.
There is no fluff in Mrs. Sahin’s books. Every page has purpose, every scene matters, and every emotion hits hard. Fair warning: once you become one of her readers, you will be completely addicted—not only to her books, but to the unforgettable characters she brings to life.

Never the Same reminded me exactly why she’s one of my automatic-read authors. From the very first chapters, I was hooked. The combination of action, suspense, and romance made this one nearly impossible to put down…which explains why I finished it at 2:08 a.m. 🤦♀️📚
What I love most about Britney Sahin’s books is that the romance never overshadows the story. The mystery kept me guessing, the pacing never slowed down, and there was always just enough danger and intrigue to keep me saying, “Just one more chapter.”
The real standout, though, was the relationship between the main characters. Their dynamic naturally evolved from a fake hate friendship into something much deeper, and I loved watching that trust build over time. Reed was everything I’ve come to expect from a Britney Sahin hero—protective, dependable, and the kind of man whose actions consistently prove who he is.
More than once I found myself smiling while reading, which is always a sign that a book has completely pulled me in. Those quiet moments between the action were just as enjoyable as the suspense itself.
If I have one complaint, it’s that Britney Sahin has once again left me desperately waiting for the next book. 😭 (Please don’t break my heart with Gwen’s story by making it a love triangle, I just can’t with love triangles!!)

Whenever I open a Brittney Sahin book, I know I’m in for an action packed time. That holds true in this 3rd installment of the Delta Force series.
I think I’ve probably said it in every review of her books, but her mind is a fascinating place. She expertly weaves action and suspense. This book had me constantly changing my mind about who the bad guy was. That’s exactly what I want in a romantic suspense book.
I really loved all the info we get about Hollis’ family in this book. She’s been a bit of a mystery thus far in this series, and what we learn is eye opening. She displays tremendous character growth here. And Reed. Man, I just want to wrap that grumpy, broody man up in a big hug. His life has been anything but easy. I just love how he and Hollis bring out the best in each other.
And we can’t forget about the cameos from some of our favorite characters from past books. I always get a huge smile on my face whenever a certain fork wielding man pops up!
If you’ve read any of her previous series, you’ll notice that this series, and, in particular this book, includes more religion and faith-based content. This does not take away from the story at all as it’s woven into the story in a way that makes sense. There is also decidedly less spice. This is more of a closed door romance, although the door is slightly ajar in a couple of places. Again, this did not detract from the story for me at all.
That ending? I absolutely cannot wait for Gwen’s book!

I really loved all the info we get about Hollis’ family in this book. She’s been a bit of a mystery thus far in this series, and what we learn is eye opening. She displays tremendous character growth here. And Reed. Man, I just want to wrap that grumpy, broody man up in a big hug. His life has been anything but easy. I just love how he and Hollis bring out the best in each other.
And we can’t forget about the cameos from some of our favorite characters from past books. I always get a huge smile on my face whenever a certain fork wielding man pops up!
If you’ve read any of her previous series, you’ll notice that this series, and, in particular this book, includes more religion and faith-based content. This does not take away from the story at all as it’s woven into the story in a way that makes sense. There is also decidedly less spice. This is more of a closed door romance, although the door is slightly ajar in a couple of places. Again, this did not detract from the story for me at all.
That ending? I absolutely cannot wait for Gwen’s book!

"Never the Same" is by far my favorite in this series & this is very much because Hollis is my favorite female main character thus far in all of Brittney's series! The main male character Reed is also a highlight of the series as well, & I think he was the perfect counterpart to Hollis' sarcasm & bold/outspoken personality. He is quiet & reserved, maybe a broody, LOL, & also very careful in his actions & how he approaches things. His backstory really impacts his approach on life & how he moves through the world & how it impacts his life choices on his relationships as a whole & also his approach to being intimate with Hollis. I absolutely loved this about the character, & how it made him vulnerable, & more human. Hollis' background, is a bit on the edge of being realistic, (which I have no issue with since this is fiction) but while being a on the edge of realistic, her character as a whole was also well developed & fascinating. I particularly loved how although she loses her memory, her "core being" was still present & unchanged & that made her character, to me at least, seem more believable & real. The other aspect I enjoyed about this book was the "unknown" with respect to who the antagonist of the story was. In fact, I found it extremely hard not to read this book all in one setting, I literally did NOT want to put it down, & it wasn't necessarily due to being action packed so much as to what/who was being revealed relating to how Hollis lost her memory & who was behind everything & how it all played out. I also enjoyed the introduction of the "future main characters". I can't wait to read about those characters in the upcoming series of books Brittney is planning to release! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book & was engaged & on the edge of my seat the entirety of the story.
