Rate this book

All four books in the Montana Wolves series!

Prey (Montana Wolves #1)

When a gorgeous stranger rescues her from a vicious wolf attack, nature photographer Amalie Baptista can’t seem to fight the attraction to her saviour. What she doesn't know is that giving in to him could mean giving up life as she knows it...

Alpha male Liam Albrecht is breaking every rule for the curvy, captivating Amalie, risking his place within the pack and his own life to protect her. As discord among the clans reaches a fever pitch, he must find a way to save her from the monsters among them.

Awakening (Montana Wolves #2)

Jax Mulaney’s mate is dead and her killer’s trail has gone cold. Eaten up by grief and guilt, it’s an effort just to get through the day. Now, after a year in mourning, his animal instincts have reawakened. As he struggles to control the need clawing at him, his pack mate Chandra’s dangerous curves and snappy wit put his self-discipline to the test.

Chandra is heartsick watching Jax struggle, and wants nothing more than to comfort him. If she takes his offer of passion without strings, she knows she’s in for a world of hurt. But if she refuses, she might blow her one chance to convince him that she can rock his world and fill the empty space in his heart. Will Jax let love in, only to risk having it taken away again?

Redemption (Montana Wolves #3)

Amber Jansen is losing her mind. After a near tragic run in with a psychopath, she’s trying to go back to life as she knew it, but she can’t seem to shake the feeling that something is still terribly wrong. Plagued with nightmares and panic attacks, she wonders if she’s buried some important piece of information in the depths of her mind. Information so disturbing that remembering it could destroy her...

Wolf shifter Billy MacKenzie has lived by one rule and one rule only: The pack comes first. Always. But when Amber Jansen accidentally sees something she shouldn’t have, he feels an unprecedented desire to protect her from the powers that be, who would rather silence her forever than risk being exposed.

If he breaks the laws of his kind to shield her, he’ll leave himself vulnerable to the one woman he wants but can never have.

Opposition (Montana Wolves #4)

Times are changing for the Montana wolves, and they’re changing far too quickly for Maggie Porter’s liking. After a bloody battle with one rival pack and another on the horizon, she wishes things could just go back to the way they used to be. But not until she gets to the bottom of this latest mystery. Who is Greyson West, really, and why did he help her escape the enemy?

Greyson West can’t wait to bring his all too traditional pack into the future. Stuck under his father’s tyrannical rule that still supports arranged marriages and allows the murder of humans for sport, he knows the time to step in and take over as alpha is now. But his mission is derailed when he meets a stubborn female who he can’t get out of his head.

Sleeping with the enemy could cost him his chance at becoming alpha, but he’s never been much on following the rules…

Four werewolves fight against old fashioned and backwards traditions to claim their happily ever afters in four thrilling paranormal romances.

Alpha male Liam Albrecht breaks all the rules when a save’s a young woman’s life, Jax Mulaney as lost his one mate and he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to let Chandra fill the empty space in his heart, Billy MacKenszie will break all the laws to shield the one woman he can never have and Greyson West wants to bring his pack out of the dark ages but he can’t seem to get the enemy out of his mind. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement and passion as these strong compelling characters fight the traditions that hold the packs to centuries past and try to move forward of course the battle is never easy and the characters capture the heart with the emotional turmoil that takes its toll along the way.

The fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with lots of suspense, action and romance and there is never a dull moment as they fight their enemies whether it is rival packs or humans set on revenge. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and bring the stories to life and the well orchestrated suspense and action ensures that the reader can’t put the stories down until they have read every last word.

While I wish the stories had been longer, I was completely enthralled with each romance, the fascinating world and the intriguing characters. I do want to recommend that the stories be read in sequence to get the full impact of the overall events that take place throughout the series, although they can be enjoyed without doing so. I have also written review for the individual stories for well if you would like to check them out.

I enjoyed the series. It's about finding your true love or mate in this case when you least expect it.

If you choose to read the Wolf series this would be the only way to read them as they are not stand alone reads. The stories are choppy and end abruptly . The Dragon series are much better stories.

Hotness in a story.

This series is full of hate, love and the joining of two in love. A must read for wolf lovers.

Wolf

Lunchtime quick stories. Lacking in depth and emotional involvement. Should be read in order. This is an atypical wolf pack

This is probably the best way to buy the stories of the Montana Wolves. Book one, Prey, is about Amalie, a nature photographer interested in wolves. She is planning on taking pictures of wolves to help fight against laws that are allowing them to be hunted. She stops on her journey to look at her map since her GPS quit. Why she has to get out of the car to do this, I'll never understand, but she is drinking coffee from a thermos when she feels she is being watched. It turns out to be a werewolf & it is determined to kill her. The wolf attacks and bites her but before it can kill her it is attacked by another, larger wolf & is run off. Amalie had been crawling to her car while the wolves were fighting in an attempt to get away but she is bleeding badly & passes out for a minute. When she comes to there is a handsome man leaning over her. The next time she wakes she is in his cabin. Needless to say there is a great attraction between the two & one thing leads to another...It turns out the other packs want Amalie killed to protect their anonymity. However Amalie has been turned & is being claimed by Liam the pack alpha. Things are pretty tense as a tribunal is held & the majority of the packs want Amalie put to death. It is touch & go for a while but we get a happy ending. Although the book is fairly short (9 chapters) it is very good. The story is fast paced & keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Book2, Awakening, is the story of Jax & Chandra. We met them in book 1. Jax's mate Sara was killed by a hunter who knew what she was. Most of the pack thought it was just a hunter but she had been shot enough times that she died before the pack could get to her. She left behind a son & bereaved mate. Chandra has loved Jax since she saw him at the tribunal for Amalie. But Jax is oblivious to everything since Sara's death. Then there is a morning when Chandra goes for a run & Jax goes with her. Their attraction spikes & leads to hot sex in the shower. Chandra gets kidnapped by an insane male human & Jax is confronted with his feelings for Chandra. Fortunately it has a happy ending. This is another action packed book that you can't put down.
Book 3, Redemption is the story of what happens to Amber, the human woman who came to the wolf compound as Jax's one night stand in the previous book. She was actually paid to spy for an evil man who called himself Tobias. He was trying to prove werewolves existed & was insane. Amber was traumatized after the incident where she was tied up & left while Tobias took Chandra. She knew she was the cause of Chandra almost being killed & she is having trouble living with herself. She is suffering from PTSD, so Billy is assigned to watch her & make sure she doesn't do anything to jeopardize the pack. She saw him change the night Tobias struck & has been trying to get information abouth werewolves. As the story develops Billy realizes that Amber is his true mate & he goes against pack law to tell her the truth. This book is their story, a story of love, tension & sex with a hot werewolf. A really good book!
Book 4, Opposition is Maggie's story. We met Maggie in the previous story. Maggie was the one hold out about Amber the human that Billy mated. They are waiting until closer to the full moon before turning Amber so she won't be in a weakened state for too long. This has angered the other packs & their pack is attacked by the Kotje pack. Fortunately they are able to defeat their attackers, but then the Big Sky pack plans an aattack & they are bigger & may very well be able to kill the entire pack.Greyson is the alpha's son & he believes it's time to move with the times. Prejudice and murder of the humans should stop. He meets secretly with Maggie to try to come up with a plan to avoid this but winds up falling in love with Maggie as he realizes she is his true mate. Just a small wrinkle - he is promised to Willa & has been since childhood. There are surprises along the way as the book progresses through all the different stories taking place at the same time. This is another action packed book that you can't put down. A wonderful ending to this boxed set & a great way to ease into the dragon story of Drake & Willa (a short excerpt is included at the end of the set). I enjoyed reading about the Montana wolves and hope there are many more to come.

Redemption:Book 3:Another captivating story from Ms. Cole. I love the way she takes a character that has been less than heroic in one book and turns her into a sympathetic even one you have to root for as the main character of the next book in the series. So it is with Amber, in the last story book 2, she was inadvertently the cause of our heroin's kidnapping.

Here Amber is trying to comprehend what she saw--it couldn't be what she thought. There aren't such things in the real world--are there? Is she losing her mind? Billy knows his carelessness is the cause of her distress and the danger she is in by not only his pack/family but waring factions nearby.

There is another complication--he wants her. He really wants her. Where does his loyalty go--to his family, to this woman? Can he somehow meld the two? He's a werewolf, at a time when humans are not allowed to know about them to preserve their safety--on both sides.

Read their story and see how it unfolds. Watch the surprising growth of character and the hook Ms Cole uses to make us want to read the next book

Opposition: Montana Wolves book 4: I love it when an author takes an unsympathetic character and gives motivation to force me to begin to like--then completely root for the character. Maggie is such a character. In the last book, she was the strongest werewolf's voice against saving and taking in the human Amber. In the end she saved Amber's life. Now she is in a position to help her pack, the human and go against her inner feelings for the sake of all around her. Can she? Grey is the enemy, isn't he? How can an enemy have such a pull on both parts of her human and wolf side?

Grey also has to come to terms with his feelings. He is the son of the of the Alpha and soon to lead. How can he have feelings for a rival pack mate? With the turmoil between the packs and internally the last thing he needs is distraction. Maggie is that.

Read this exciting, touching part four and then wait with me for the next installment.

I was provided an ARC from the author for an honest review.

I never read these types of stories so I decided to give it a try. And let me tell you, I LOVED IT. These 4 books were soooooo good. This first one just got it jumping. We first meet Liam and Amalie. She happens to be in the wrong place but with a good heart. Unfortunately Liam did the unthinkable and everything erupted. There chemsitry was hot and I sooooo enjoyed it.

We then have Jax and Chandra. Jax lost his mate and has finally started to realize that he has to move on for his son's sake. But he didnt realize that the one that would steal his heart would be the one that cared for not only his son but so very much for him. HOT

We move onto Amber and Billy. Now they were together by chance. Amber saw something she shouldnt have seen and try as they might to convince other wise, she holds strong. Billy fell for her from the first but he was getting himself into serious trouble. What we do for love.

Last but not least Maggie and Greyson. That wasnt suppose to be. It was peace tready but when they finally let go and realized that they had that special something, they were not going to let it go. Mind you, you will want to read the Dragon series after because Willa is in the one and jumps to the next series.

Yes I didnt say much about any of the stories. I hate to take away from what people imagine but these were great. I enjoyed the sex. OK that was a major plus but the stories were excellent. I loved when women are written as strong and not weak. These women stood by their mans side or fought for them and in return the guys loved whole heartedly. Need I say more.

4 books 4 couples and lots of reasons to read this set of stories. Each story is separate couples dealing with their own trials but set within the same world and revisiting some familiar characters. All of the stories keep you riveted and wanting more. This set is great for those of us who aren't really fans of cliffhangers, because it's all here with no wait. Good work Chloe Cole.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

All four of these stories had the same problem; they seem to end too abruptly. I felt like each really could have used at least one if not 3 more chapters. the best of the bundle is Redemption partly because there is so much leading up to that story in the previous stories and both Amber and Billy were already well established characters. Other than the ending these were all very much what I had expected from this genre. 3 stars

All in

What a great series. I enjoy reading the entire story line at once. Each book in this set is in itself a good story. From Liam and amlie through Jax and Chandra, Billy and Amber, to Maggie and Grayson . The bigger picture is one of family , loyalty, love and turmoil. Will the packs be able to make peace and move away from old outdated ideas, into a new day? If you are a fan of werewolves and PNR I think you will enjoy this series. Happy reading.

Enjoyed the collection

I enjoyed the stories within this collection. I really liked how each story built on each other but gave way to new stories. I wish the stories could have been longer and more detailed. I felt like some story lines weren't done yet. But I thoroughly loved the characters.

This was a great collection of shifter stories. I like when they are grouped together like a little family. I do enjoy groups that build on each other in the stories. They are all written so you can read alone but I prefer to read a group that goes together for me. I enjoyed reading these and would read more from this author.

This series really disappointed me. I've read lots of vampire and wolves series and loved them. There was no depth to the story lines just some steamy sex but I need a good story line. I had paid $6 for the set of books so the kept reading hoping it'd develop. If u want any base sorry this isn't for you its just small books of porn with a weak storyline that doesn't even really finish.

I liked reading them back to back. I really liked not being overwhelmed by all the characters in the first book, but introducing them one book ahead of their own story.

Altogether, great quick reads. I look forward to continuing the stories with the next set.

I give up. I cried uncle after the third book. I can't take it anymore. these books are disgustingly cookie-cutter and because they're so short it makes it even worse. I haven't even read the synopsis for the 4th book but I bet you I can tell you exactly what it's about. No thank you.

They were ok stories

They were ok stories a little quick but not bad. Needs wrapping up a little better. I kinda liked the story continues through each but would've been passed had I not had the option of all as a set.

Taken as a whole a good read

The Montana wolves have to be dragged into the 21st century. As a whole the series is cohesive and the plot good. They definitely need to be read together because as stand alone they are rather weak.

First book i have read by this author. Enjoyed this 4 pack bundle. sexy shifters, unsuspecting humans, outdated pack thinking. I love reading series but hate waiting for each book to come out so this was perfect. Nothing too deep in this book but very enjoyable and will get next in series.

I initially didn't give this a good review at all as I didn't finish it. On reflection I've read some real crap in the past and stuck to it so it makes me think maybe I just wasn't feeling it, therefore I shall go back and see if it was me!

Oh I loved this series. I like that you could read each story and how they connected with a different pack mate found his or her mate. Good stories and if you like shifters, I highly recommend this/ set.
