This is a story about a boy growing up in colonial America. It follows the growth of a real person, Lemuel Robinson, who later in life became an instrumental figure in the revolution. This narrative attempts to describe his upbringing and challenges he might have faced and how or what he learned from them through either success or failure to help form him into the person who was instrumental in the early years of the revolution.
After 3 years of researching and writing this historical fiction, I’d like to thank Bruce Robinson, 10th generation of Lemuel’s offspring, who was instrumental in writing this as was the rest of the Indiana Robinson clan, including Carol, Patty and Dennis. Of equal note is a family friend, Deb Steele who has provided the backbone to all in its many forms. They provided a wealth of historical documentation which was used in the writing of this story. A lot of it, obviously, was generated to provide a framework for how the young boy developed into the man he became and how he was instrumental in the organization of the rebellious colonists of the 1770’s.
