The framework grew out of my pro bono executive coaching work with The Honor Foundation, a nonprofit that helps Special Operations personnel—such as Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, Army Rangers, Green Berets, and Delta Force—successfully transition into civilian careers. As these men and women navigated one of the most significant professional transitions of their lives, I developed practical networking strategies to help them build relationships, uncover opportunities, and communicate their value in unfamiliar environments. While the framework was born from this work, I expanded and adapted it for professionals at every stage of their careers.
Drawing on proven executive-level approaches, this guide introduces a practical, repeatable six-step process for intentionally building trusted relationships that create Relationship Capital. Your "network" is your "net worth" certainly from a professional standpoint, and knowing how to effectively network is a critical skill. Dr. Elizabeth Fried has created the "go to" guide on how best to prepare yourself, present yourself, and follow-up after every networking experience. Key aspects of "strategic networking" are covered in detail, in a concise "step-by-step" format, including how to best use AI to research a prospective professional contact before your actual meeting. Dr. Fried provides illustrative examples throughout her "playbook" including an eight-section report that is a fabulous resource. I highly recommend Dr. Fried's playbook. You will learn how to be the most prepared, professional and personable "networker" in the room.

Dr Fried (Elizabeth) has complied some great advice in this book. She is a very knowledgeable author and coach and her advice is spot on. She personnaly helped prepare me for networking and interviewing as I was leaving active duty military service and transitioning to the civilian work force. Evcerything she spent hours teaching me is distilled in this quick read of a book. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to transition to a new job.
