While strolling the runways of Milan, Andie sees him and her heart begins to race. There is just something about the man that changes her world, makes everything brighter and happier. The more she gets to know Antonio, the more she falls in love with him. When their relationship reaches a physical crescendo, she tells him how her heart has fallen for him, thinking that he feels the same way. Unprepared, and suffering from a painful history with love, Antonio’s faltering response breaks her heart. Andie feels like she has finally met the heartless tycoon that everyone describes.
Although he isn’t able to respond in kind, Antonio feels far more than he would like when the lovely Andie professes her love for him. He knows that he wants to protect her, that he doesn’t want her to leave him, but he isn’t ready to be that vulnerable again. Her departure leaves him empty, until one day she shows up at his office, scared, too thin, still painfully beautiful…and pregnant. This time around, he is determined to keep her with him. He doesn’t know what he feels, but he knows that he can’t live without her.

"His Expectant Lover" is the story of Andie and Antonio.
Probably my least favorite story from this series.
Our heroine is a plus sized model, whom the hero picks up one night after their eyes meet across the stage. He's a scarred playboy millionaire, she's a struggling professional. He showers her with all comforts, and seduces her until she confesses her love..which he rejects. So she runs away.. Unfortunately, a few months later, she finds herself pregnant and destitute, and has to ask the hero for help. Apparently, he's been pining for her too, and decides to force her to marry him by seducing her. Add to that random scenes of catty OW assaulting the heroine and claiming to be the hero's mistress, them barely communicating and literally running away from each other, ending abruptly with minimal resolution of aforementioned problems.
A couple of idiots. The only thing I did like was the epilogue with all the siblings.
I love Cinderella stories. I thought the hero was great. He was so upset about her leaving and had been looking for her. He might have not believed in the word love but he definitely showed it to his woman. I loved his family and will have to go read their stories too. And last but not least, where can I find an Antonio.?!!??
Andie and Antonio. Satisfying in the cheesy harlequin way. Antonio is used to used crooking his finger and getting what or who he wants. He works a bit harder to get Andie as he can tell she is different, but doesn't really think too deeply about it. Andie assumes he is falling in love just like she is, and is bitterly disappointed when he doesn't return her affection. She runs off, but of course it's too late. She's pregnant. She tries to make a go of it alone in NY, but slowly begins to starve to death, until she puts her pride aside and goes to face Antonio with the truth. I don't really understand why she didn't tell him sooner? He has a right to know and it wasn't like he was a sadist or creep or something. He is pretty overbearing though and almost succeeds in squishing her ego completely before he realizes what he is doing. It was cute but forgettable.
I really enjoyed this book. I noticed after I read it, that it had mixed reviews. It was a light read, that left me smiling. Antonio knew Andie was special the first time they met. It took him a bit longer to realize he loved her. Antonio was all alpha male, but Andie had no problem standing up to him. I also loved the way she handled his mean, nasty ex lovers. The journey to love, and happy ever after was slow and sweet. There are days you just need a sweet, light read, and this book was perfect.
I was really looking forward to Antonio's story and I really like Ms. Lennox's books but this one wasn't up to her normal standard! It felt like it was rushed and just didn't have the same feel to it like the other books in this series.
But I'm still looking forward to her next series "The Hart Sisters"!
This is the 7th book in the series and it was very good. This is Antonio’s story, he met Andie in Milan at a fashion show, both were very attracted to each other. He asked her to spin the weekend with him, Andie told him she loved him and he rejected her love. She leaves and later discovers she is pregnant, she had to go to him for help. They had to overcome some obstacles to find their HEA. Great epilogue.
I love this series. Three is so much love and family packed into these books. And laughter! So much laughter. I love the epilogues where the brothers play wedding pranks on each other. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance books. I highly recommend that you read the series in order to get the best experience possible.
I enjoyed this book very much. I liked the tile of the book very much. I liked the sex sences very much. Elizabeth is a great book too read when you are feeling cold and our of love from a lover.
I really did not understand how Andie could just fall into bed with Antonio at the beginning. The book was ok after that but nothing impressive. I just wanted to read the epilogue.
Hot and sexy yes! Just not enough hero and heroine for me to like.
Three stars. A dress on a runaway stopping Antonio in his tracks as the woman with benefits stand next to him? Apparently smitten with her (Andie) he buys the dress and requests she deliver it to him in person. While woman with benefits buys to her heart's content as a send of because Antonio has moved on and has a new quest.
Goodness! Annie is warned by woman buying clothes to leave Antonio alone. We still don't know if she followed through on her threats. Why didn't Andie ask about her? Why didn't Antonio talk about his past? Why didn't Andie talk about her past? Too much missing for me. Feelings aren't there strong point? His first love from college meets up with them she too threatens Andie. Andie doesn't discuss it with Antonio. Yeah there are panty melting scenes but it isn't enough for me to give more than 3 stars. Questions unanswered. A weak female and even Antonio or hero leaves much to be desired.
as with all of Elizabeth Lennox's books this book has romance and live in a sweet way. it is so s a d this is the l a st book in the Alfieri Saga series. I want to know more about this funny yet loving family. I had wondered so long why Antonio distanced himself from live and finally we learned why. I can't wait f or release day for new books from 's Lennox and miss her books every other day in-between.the Elizabeth Lennox's books are must reads over and over again.
I have read almost every book from this talented author! I was so excited from the first to this last book of the series! I found myself being part of an extraordinary family (don't I wish and not for the money) simply because they are what one dreams of a family to be! This is definitely a re-read series and this last book is a great conclusion.
I read this entire series and I enjoyed every one of them! I found myself laughing out loud at the different pranks that the brothers pulled on each other. They were absolutely hilarious. I also enjoyed being able to read about the happiness of each couple after their children were born. These are definitely books that I will recommend to family and friends.
Loved the loving family, the alphas falling for their ladies, the sweet innocents, the humor and the description of beautiful places. Ms Lennox' stories are fast paced. Love that each story stands alone, yet you hear again from characters in related stories. Antonio and Andy's story did not fail to entertain.
I am sad to see this series come to an end. I now own every book from The Alfieri Saga Series including the free ones. Although, some of these books are more enjoyable to me then others as a whole this is a can't miss series. The one negative thing that I have to say is that the editing leaves something to be desired.
I really enjoyed this story. It had a good storyline, passion, and some amazing chemistry.
Sparks fly between Andie and Antionio leading to a night of passion and misunderstandings. These two really click as a couple but they are both battling insecurities and trusting each other is hard.
My heart is breaking to say goodbye to the Alfieri family. I absolutely adored every book in the series and it is sad that the series had to end. Elizabeth, congratulations on a great series, every novel which is worthy of five stars. Luv, Linda Hall - South Africa xxx
I was looking forward to reading this one was a little disappointed. Too much conversation with themselves . Not enough togetherness. I would encourage people to read it to complete the series.
I loved this newest Alferi legacy book!! Full of one alpha male and one tiny young women who writes mystery stories but does modeling for catalogs until her books take off. They meet and the Sparks fly-very good story.
Yes I have read another trashy book, the story line, oh right there really isn't one or maybe there is but I'll admit I'm probably hooked for the time being, ugh!
Antonio sees Andie as a model in a fashion show. He is not overly excited about fashion shows! He is immediately attracted to her as she is to him! You must read to see if this attraction advances! A GREAT love story!
