The whole world knows my name, but they can’t give me what I want. No one can. Until them.

Being a movie star isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but not everything is pretty dresses and wild parties. There’s the scrutiny, the rumors, the paparazzi screaming questions about private pain and public hopes. The constant questions about when I’m settling down.

They all think they know the real Eva May Williams.

But they don’t.

I want love, but now isn’t the time. My world is still reeling after tragedy, my twin sister is still trapped in her grief, and I’m still fighting to get out of the box I’ve been shoved into. I’ll happily take comfy nights alone in my pajamas, thank you very much.

That was before an award show where a packs’ scent made the world stand still. Before they told me I smell just as good, and we locked ourselves in a dressing room just to make sure. No NDA in the world will cover the amount of perfume I unleashed.

It’s only a matter of time until the whole world knows.

Everyone says it should be easy. Effortless. Just like breathing. I never believed them. Now that I’m in their arms? I know it’s true. Chance brought us together, but they made me believe. Turns out, when love and fate come calling, there’s knot far to fall.

Fast, sweet, and steamy story of Eva (h) finding her rock band group of mates. This is relationship-focused and moves very quickly since they're scent matches. A whole of lot sexy times and insta-love, though they do consciously choose each other.

I liked that the author wrote this story for the fans of Knot Your Damn Omega who wanted to see Eva finding her HEA on page (KYDO follows Eva's twin, Esme, and takes place chronologically after Eva had found her pack). I think I saw something from the author saying to read this after KYDO though and it does make sense because there's a bit of Eva's perspective from that book in here, as well as a bit of Eva's POV from another book in the series. If you wanted to, you could absolutely just read this.

Written in first person, multi-POV (each of the mains). No ow/om drama and all are experienced. A couple of offhand mentions of the characters having been with others, but no explicit recollections and no groupies (always a worry with rock bands).

Some tropes/themes:
☆ Reverse harem omegaverse
☆ MFMMM - 4 Alphas/1 Omega
☆ Scent matches/fated mates
☆ Famous actress x famous rock band
☆ They meet at an award show
☆ Heat, knotting, instincts, scent claiming, bites, bonding ceremony
☆ Steamy - DP x 2, piercings
☆ Female friendships
☆ A touch of sadness for FMC's twin
☆ Cute epilogue with their HEA and FMC following her career aspirations

Knot Your Damn Omega is my all time favorite OV. I love Esme and I have always been curious about Eva and finally here story is here! And I absolutely devoured it and love it too. I love the relationship that the Eva and Esme have. And I loved all her guys. Reading this book felt like I came home again. Especially since I just reread Esme's book literally a few days ago. I also loved that we got to see her reaction and scheming in timeline with Esme’s book! I just need to reread the whole series at this point because I’m not ready to leave. If you haven’t picked up this series yet do it!!

This was such a sweet quick read. I know that Devyn Sinclair had no plans for writing Eva’s story, but I am so glad she did. It was lovely seeing her POV from when her sister and friend met their scent sympathetic packs.

If you need a fast and feel good read filled with swoon worthy moments and spice to fill up your end of the year reads or get out of a reading slump, this is the book for you. No angst at all, just all the good feelings.

It was great seeing Eva and her meeting her pack. She's not my fave character, so I was a little apathetic going in, but am glad I did as I love all the books in this series.

I was thrilled to find out Eva’s story was going to be told, and this did not disappoint ☺️.

A novella was just the right length to get a glimpse into the past before Esme’s book.

Devyn’s omegaverse stories never disappoint, and although I (apparently) was one of the few not begging for Eva’s story, I’m so grateful we got it. Her love story is straightforward, sweet, smutty and feels like wrapping yourself in your favourite blanket. This happy novella has me ready to throw out my entire tbr and go back to the absolute homecoming Slate City feels like, and the fact that she has created a comfort like that is nothing short of mindblowing. I love that we got Eva’s Feroce pack story, it was everything she desired and everything I needed right now.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

We have finally received Eva May Williams book! I am hear to say that while the author never intended for Eva to have a book, I'm so freaking glad she wrote one. I was one of those many that asked if she had one and I might have over looked it or couldn't find it. Well, the wait is over and Devyn finally released her book.

Tropes:
🎸 Omegaverse Romance
🎬 Why Choose (MFMMM)
🎸 Famous Rock Band Alpha's
🎬 Celebrity Movie Star FMC
🎸 Fated Mates/Scent Match
🎬 Tattooed Bad Boys/Wholesome Good Girl that wants to change
🎸 Heat/Nesting/Knotting
🎬 Bonding Ceremony
🎸 Pierced 🍆🍆

I'm so excited that we get Eva's story. It's 20 chapters packed full of spice and answers all those questions we had about her and her pack in the Slate City Omegaverse series. I know the author jumped back to this series to give us her book, but it didn't disappoint.

I know she didn't intend to give us Eva's book, but I had so many questions when it came to her and her pack. We got how her twin felt in Esme's book, but I wanted Eva's feelings. We didn't see what this life did to her and how she handled it.

Plus, it never really gave us her pack and what they were like. The Ferchoce Pack (fair-oh-chay). We knew they were a rock band, (Mindless Delirium) but I wanted to see behind that and what their personalities were like, and how they treated Eva. We know how their story goes because it's a staple in this universe and mentioned often. Yet, I wanted to see them as a couple and behind the famous parts of them.

The author did not disappoint at all. This story may be short at 22 chapters and 2 epilogues, but it's filled with all the questions I had and gives us that inside few to them. We are taken back to the DCA (Designation Choice Awards) where the magic happens. That famous run in that happened on live television between Eva and Mindless Delirium. It was literally a run in too, a crash of sorts that rearranged their entire lives.

We see more of her security team, Neil and Marcus. Plus, we get more of Jasmine, Eva's manager and what her personality was like and what hand she played in it all.

We also get to see text between her and her friends and twin. I loved Eva's friends Petra and Sloane. We all know how Eva was there when her twin Esme met her scent matched group and Petra as well. We get to see those scenes in Eva's POV as well as her guys. She seems to be at the right places for her friends and family during those magical moments. Almost like she good luck.

We see a different side to her mom in this book and their relationship. Eva was close to her mom compared to Esme. It was an entire different vibe from Esme and their mom to when Eva was alone with her. I don't get why the mother treated the twins so differently, all the way down to her attitude. I didn't care for their mother in Esme's book, but in Eva's book she wasn't so horrible.

I also love how we get to see how the guys personalities were. We didn't get to see them or their thoughts in the other books. I loved these guys, Tyler, Dylan, Liam and Jack. How they never thought about having an omega and never really wanted one or put much stock into it because of their lifestyle. Then how everything changed when Eva ran into Tyler backstage with the rest of the guys behind him. How their whole world changed to her at the center of it. Their personalities were great too, not what I thought a rock band would be like. They were each so different but had the same feelings towards Eva.

I really loved how these men would do anything for Eva. Especially when she was feeling guilty, sad or down about Esme and how they would take her to the nest and get her feelings out of her or why she was feeling certain ways one they could feel her through their bond. They never rushed her or made her feel guilty about having her feelings. They were just there and helped her. I loved how they could feel compassionate towards Esme and what she was going through. How they would encourage her give her compliments and be friendly towards Eva's twin, but never have eyes for anyone but their omega.

They were just a loving bunch of guys and I loved this alpha band. They were by far one of my favorite alpha packs Devyn has written about and I'm glad she did take the time to write about them. They would do anything for Eva and it really showed in this book. A must-read for sure!

As absolutely excited as I was about this book coming out, I have to say that I was honestly disappointed.

For starters, there were several conflicting points between this book and what was previously stated in Knot Your Damn Omega. The biggest fumble is that in KYDO, Eva claimed that Dylan had a scent/taste of chocolate, while in this book it changed to being maple syrup. Then theres the fact that in KYDO, Eva said that she basically jumped Mindless Dilerium backstage when she met them because she just had to, then this book has her just kiss them and it was all very calm.

Next issue is that the pack didn't really have personalities in general, let alone separate from each other. Like they all blended together to the point where you couldn't really say if you liked them or not because there was no actual showing of who they were. Also, we didn't really get a good description of any of the guys, so they very much were ambiguous to imagine which i didn't particularly like and am definitely not used to when it comes to this author's books. Additionally, I found that there was more show of preference for Eva with Liam and Tyler than there was with Jack and Dylan.

Overall, I just felt like this book was kind of a rush job. It was clear from her initial author's note that she didn't plan nor intend to even write something for Eva, so it feels like this novella was written out of spite rather than actually wanting to share the story of Eva and her pack. Of course, there were moments I did like, but it still was a lack lustre read for me personally.

Knot Far to Fall - Devyn Sinclair
4.5/5

* SPOILERS *

I love the way that Devyn does her omegaverse universe. It’s funny because I have read this series out of order by only reading the last book in the series, so I have to read book one because I need to know Esm’s story just by the little teasers we get in this book.

First off, the relationship that Eva and Esme have together is just so beautiful. I just love how close they are with one another. To be twins and to have that type of relationship is just everything. I just love their close knit bond.

The way that Eva meets Jack, Tyler, Liam and Dylan is definitely not something she planned. It was so cute how she ran into Tyler first and how he held her. I’m swooning because each of these guys looked after her every need.

I will say that this is the perfect novella to get you out of a reading slump. It also has the right amount of spice. I also love the teasers that we get for the next couple of books, which has made me want to start these books. I love me a good and quick read that makes me eager for more.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

It’s very much a novella, and because of that and the fact that we already know Eva from the OG books, we don’t get a whole lot of new stuff beyond their meeting. I did really liked it but I would have liked to find out a bit more about her alphas as individuals and as a band, as well as just her alphas.

We also got a couple of what I would call bonus scenes in the last couple of chapters (pre epilogues), of Eva’s POV with both Esme and Petra finding their first scent match. I really love that we got those because I always want more of my favourite books and series.

I would definitely recommend this if you liked the series but it’s for sure a read after and as a bonus rather than a standalone type of novella.

“Dear Universe, I would pretty please like a pony, a change in style, and a pack that falls deeply in love with me.”

✔️MFMMM contemporary omegaverse why choose
✔️prequel novella
✔️rock star MMCs x movie star FMC
✔️fated mates/scent matches
✔️bad boys x good girl (who wants to change her image)
✔️heat, nesting, knots, bonding
✔️no 3rd act breakup

4.75⭐️ rounded up

I absolutely loved this novella, and I am so happy that the author decided to dive back into this world and show us how Eva met her pack! She is a side character in the three main stories set in this world (her twin sister Esme is the FMC of Knot Your Damn Omega) and though it is mentioned in passing how she met her pack of rockstars and the fact that they had a public bonding ceremony, those things happened before the main story line of Esme’s book so we didn’t get to see them on page. It was fun finally getting to be inside Eva’s head and see some pivotal moments from KYDO and KATG from her perspective. I always wondered how Eva reacted off page to certain events when she wasn’t with Esme in KYDO, and I am so glad we finally got to see and feel those emotions along side her.

You absolutely need to read at least Knot Your Damn Omega before picking this one up (but really, read the whole series, they are all great). Though this is a prequel novella, some of what happens in this story won’t make a ton of sense if you haven’t read Esme’s book first (and there are spoilers for that book in this one). The only thing that kept me from rating this a full five stars is the fact that it was a little difficult to tell the MMCs apart, which is something I never have run into with this author before, and think it is just because this is a novella and the main focus is really on the FMC. Overall this is just a spicy good time and the perfect way to wrap up the Slate City Omegaverse world, all of the loose ends and unanswered questions I had feel resolved now.

Perfect fit for the series

This book is not a standalone and it is very important that readers know this going in. It's a book specifically written to appease, please, and calm die hard fans of the slate city series. In my opinion, it does it's job exceedingly well.

We already know and love Eva, which is why we all clamored for her story. This deeper dive into Eva is a nice insight into a favorite side character. Meeting her guys, seeing them as separate characters, watching the details of their love on page is perfect for what Devyn aimed to satisfy - our curiosity about the woman who is central and integral to the group of FMCs we have already loved.

This is a novella, not a full length book. It does borrow heavily toward the end to provide fans the Eva POV for her friends tumbling into love. We don't get quite the same depth and world building that is typical for a Devyn Sinclair book, but we don't need that either due to the nature of Eva's story. I think the balance works pretty well. We see the beginning of the series webbing out, we see the details we need for Eva's group and the intimacy we expect from Devyn Sinclair omegaverse stories. If you aren't looking to dive into a reread of Esme's story by the end of this book, I don't know why.

Important takeaways - Eva has still not convinced me to like their mother. This is an open door story with a solid HEA guarantee but be ready to dive into the whole series for the full picture. I seriously despise Eva's mother.

I’ve really enjoyed the Slate City Omegaverse series and, while the other books can be read standalone, this one can’t be.

This short novella gives us Eva’s story — she’s the twin sister of Esme from “Knot Your Damn Omega.” We know from that book that Eva meets her scent matches (all members of a rock band) at an award show and they got together quickly. The first half of this novella covers Eva meeting her pack and her going into heat. Then we see their bonding. The last third of the book is Esme and Petra’s meeting of their packs from Eva’s point of view.

Because this is a shorter story that we already know the outcome of, there really isn’t anything surprising in this book. There’s also no real tension, maybe a bit of disappointment from Eva’s mother about her pick and a bit of grieving about Eva’s recently deceased father, but that’s it. What we mostly get is insta-lust and insta-love. I never even got a sense of the different personalities of Eva’s alphas.

I wouldn’t bother reading this book unless you like the rest of the series and want to fill in the gaps around Eva (both her story and her perspective in Esme and Petra finding their scent matches). Otherwise, it’s kind of a shallow, insta-love omegaverse book. It’s not poorly written, it just doesn’t provide any more depth beyond a quick reminiscing back in Slate City.

3⭐️ I love Devyn Sinclair and the entire Slate City books but this one was not it for me. It all felt too fast and rushed and I think that caused the guys to all blend together. It was like immediately they scent matched and then immediately she goes into heat and they help her through it. There was no time to breathe and learn who these guys are at all. They each had the same personality and none of them stood out except when she was describing their manhood. I named one of them Liam the Girth Alpha because that's all I remember of him was that his d!c|< was short but wide LOL. It was mentioned 3 times in the story so how could I forget that! 2 of them had piercings and I couldnt tell you which ones. I don't even remember all their names and I JUST finished the book!!! I swear I couldn't tell you who was who or what any of them even really looked like. It might have been very briefly mentioned like hair color but there was no real descriptive details about them. Especially when comparing it to her twin Esme's book! Those men were described to a T and each of them had very separate personalities! A few editing errors took me out of the story a little and it just overall wasn't a page turner. So sad too because I swear I love this world so much.

I didn’t ask for this novella, but the universe clearly decided to deliver (see Devyn) a little treat anyway, serving it up like a surprise dessert I absolutely devoured. And honestly? I’m not even remotely mad about it. This story was everything I didn’t know I needed, tucked under a red-carpet glint and tied with a “buckle up, babe” ribbon.

Eva May Williams steps out of the spotlight and straight into my heart, juggling fame, grief, and the relentless noise of the world with the kind of tired glamour only an A-lister can pull off. Enter the pack whose scent could halt traffic and restart galaxies. Suddenly we’re in a dressing room, the pheromones are doing acrobatics, and I’m gripping the pages like they might sprout fangs.
The chemistry? A supernova. The emotional punch? Sharp enough to cut diamonds. The joy of watching Eva finally get something that’s real, warm, and completely hers? Chef’s kiss with sparkles.

This novella felt like fate itself leaned over and whispered, Surprise, sweetheart. And I’m over here swooning, fanning myself, and pre-ordering whatever comes next. Five stars, because there’s knot a single thing I’d change.

Devyn Sinclair surprised the heck out of me by going back to the Slate City Omegaverse. In all honesty, I was never one of the readers who needed Eva's story. She was a great side character who already found her HEA. I didn't see the need to go back, but that wasn't going to stop me from reading Knot Far to Fall.

With acting comes the good and the bad, and even celebrities can be lonely. Eva had settled for being alone until one fateful collision with a famous rock band. This book was quick and dirty. I enjoyed the lighter romance, and there was plenty of steam. I liked getting to know Eva's guys a little more in-depth. It was good to put personalities to characters that were just mentioned in passing before.

I liked Eva before KFtF. She was a great sister to Esme (Knot Your Damn Omega) and a good friend. Seeing their relationship from Eva's POV was a little eye-opening but good. When it comes to Esme, Eva has a gentle heart. I love their relationship. I enjoyed reading some of the previous scenes from Eva's POV, but I enjoyed the new stuff even more. If you were waiting for Eva's story, you won't be disappointed.

Format: 📱 eBook 📱 (ARC)

I'll preface this by saying that I've not read any of the Slate City series yet, so I went in completely blind, not knowing who Eva was to the world, nor why everyone was so excited for her book to be released.

I was swept away into Eva's world of stardom and of scent sympathetics - a unique take on scent matches that I absolutely loved.

I really enjoyed the meet cute of Eva meeting Mindless Delirium backstage at the awards show - most certainly the last place one would think to find their pack - and whilst it was more an insta-love/lust situation (thank you OV world dynamics and a novella length story), it was a good, low-angst read that gives glimpses into what will happen in Slate City - which I'm keen to double back and read now!

The only thing I'll say is that being a novella, I feel we lost the opportunity to get to know all the characters a bit more. Eva was well fleshed out - presumably from her presence in the main books in the series - but at times, I felt the men were surface level only, and it was hard to connect to them. That being said, again, we could know more about them in the rest of the series, and I'm just missing that info, tackling the series in chronological order as opposed to publication order.

What also really stood out for me in this one is that Eva isn't shy to show the world who she truly is, even if it takes a bit of time for her to get there - I love the transformation she makes through the short story.

Excited to continue the series when I can, now, and see what happens to Esme and Petra - and of course Eva - ongoing!

Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

First: thanks to the author for the ARC!

Second: Yay, Eva has a book!

Third: OMG, loved it :) It was so much fun to see how Eva and Mindless Delirium came together. Lots of spice, some fun, and pretty low-angst, which was just what I needed to read right now.

Fourth: Esme! I love that we got to see parts of her story through Eva's perspective. These two sisters (and the rest of the Slate City crew) have each other's backs in everything. It was also nice (although a bit heartbreaking) to see how much of the guilt Eva took on regarding Esme's predicament.

Fifth: I am so glad we got this book! Even knowing how everything ends after reading the rest of the Slate City series, it was worth it go back to the beginning and see a bit of how things started. Instead of an extended epilogue as bonus content, we get a whole extended prologue, if you will, of bonus content. I am here for it.

Do I even need to express my love for Devyn Sinclair? Because truly if she writes OV I'm reading it. I fell in love with her after Point of No Return and then I discovered the Slate City OV series and loved Emse. At first, we were never going to have Eva's story and should just accept that there was a woman in the friend group that found her pack and was happy and supported her friends and family with shared experiences.... but no we begged and pleaded and sure enough we got it.

Eva never intended to find a pack... especially not at an award show, but fate tests her and her pack and soon enough she has a devoted pack that sees her through her heat. What I loved about this is that we get a pack with no drama and has only eyes for her and devote to forming a relationship and exploring each other. This was the perfect addition to the series and seeing Eva go through her HEA made my heart soar.

What I loved about Eva is that you still see her relationship with Esme and how sensitive she knows her sister and ultimately just wants her to be happy and knows that she has always been in her shadow. It broke my heart all over again for Esme but knowing the first book/Esme's book her happiness was just coming along.

This is best to read after all the series though, just for more pure enjoyment.

The Slate City Omegaverse is one of my all time favorite series and definitely a top omegaverse series!! I love that we're diving back into that world, if only for a little bit, and getting some background on Eva and how she and her pack came to be. The spicy is spicy and it's definitely insta lust and love to the extreme. There's little tension and it's more spice than plot for when you need that in your life. It's a super fun read and we even get to see a few scenes from the main series from Eva's POV which I loved!

This is a novella, so it's short, sweet, and to the point. But I think something was missing in terms of the guys personalities - there wasn't much there for them and I was craving just a bit more about them, their band, their pack, etc...I wanted to get emotionally connected to them too!

If you're looking to dive back into Slate City and get a super spicy take on Eva's story - this is the book for you!!

It's always a nice surprise when an author writes a story that you never expected to get. With Eva technically being a side character to her twin sister Esme's story and already with an established pack, I didn't think we'd need or get more to her story, but I can't say I'm mad at it. I will say that because this is a novella and not a full length book, it is much heavier on the smut than an actual storyline. I don't actually think that Eva really needed much depth to her story anyways as we already know she got her happy ever after, although we do get all the good bits of how her scent sympathetic meet cute happened and what led up to the point of Esme having hers in her book as well. I enjoyed seeing the two stories blend together so we could get the other point of view from that night of when Esme met her cupcake, Garrett. This was a good addition to the series and I'm glad Sinclair decided to take the time and give us this little piece of Eva's world.

when whining and whinging wins

We were first introduced to Eva in Esme’s book and by that time her mating was more than a year old. Outside of that we knew very little about Eva’s relationship with her pack: we knew her bonding was quick, that it happened during an awards show, and that it was relatively non dramatic (especially compared to Esme’s expreience). All things that pointed to a HEA, and yet… still.
And so, after much whinging and whining, the beautiful and talented Devyn Sinclair threw in the towel and wrote Eva’s story.

Reading how Eva found her pack and the story of the early days was fantastic. A beautiful drama free ride. But this is more. Esme’s interactions with her mother show a different woman than the one we meet in Knot Your Damn Omega. The story contain continues, offering perspective of KYDO (Esme meeting Bennet for the first time) and KATD (Petra finding her scent matches).

This story may be a novella, a small slice of Slate City, but it provides so much depth to the stories and the characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Omgosh. This was everything.

This book was everything and more. I loved every moment and loved seeing the in depth perspective of Eva and her Men. While we get the story in Knot your damn omega, it was just as captivating with a whole new flair of emotion, information and sweetness. We get more of the story, characters and feelings while also seeing some key memories from Eva's point of view which was so fascinating to see as well as a wonderful ending. It was also very intriguing to see Eva's personality and traits as a person after seeing her from Esme's point of view, considering the fact that their twins. It was satisfying to see how similar and different they were in this book. Highly recommend as I adored this book from start to finish. Now I'm going to go reread the other ones.

I enjoyed this novella. It’s the only Slate City Omegaverse I have read. And I was able to wholeheartedly love this story.

It’s fast paced. And very quick to get to the heart of the story. There is no real conflict between the characters. And it’s more of a feel good narrative explaining how they met and packed up.

I enjoyed seeing Eva’s relationship with her twin Esme and her friend Petra and Sloane. And am definitely interested in reading their stories.

Rockstars meet actress and fall madly in love. It’s a good girl meets bad boys. That aren’t really that bad. And they live happily ever after. Can’t beat it!

I received this as an ARC for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

This novella brought everything we wanted to learn about Eva and her pack. We all saw her pack in Esme's story, and it was fun to get to see how they found each other. Eva scent matched with Dylan, Liam, Tyler and Jack at an awards ceremony and things got hot very quickly. Eva and her men were enthralled with each other from the moment then scented each other. While this is a quick read you truly get to see the love these five form for each other and how Eva struggles with the fact she found her happiness while her sister is struggling with so much. The steam is steaming, and the story is sweet and heartwarming everything you want from and Omegaverse. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
