I thought I escaped hell when I ran from the Sanctuary.
Eden
I was wrong.
Hell found me on a Valentine's Day auction block, where men in black ties bid on virgins like livestock. Where the highest bidder owns you—body, mind, and soul.
Vaughn Sutherland paid more for me than most people see in a lifetime.
He put me in a room with silk sheets and locked doors. He touched me in ways that made me forget my own name. He never took what he bought, only taught me how much my body could betray me.
So I ran.
I made it three days before he found me.
They say the devil is patient. They say he's cruel.
They don't know Vaughn.
He gave me freedom after he dragged me back—a house instead of a cell, choices instead of chains. But every door I open leads back to him. Every breath I take, he owns.
And the worst part?
I'm starting to forget why I wanted to leave.
The Sanctuary stole her childhood.Vaughn Sutherland bought her virginity. And when she runs? He'll hunt her down and teach her that the only freedom she'll ever have is the kind he gives her.
Contains a hero who thinks love is ownership, patience is a weapon, and Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to buy something priceless.
Elizabeth Knox is a USA Today Bestselling romance author who specializes in romantic suspense, and dark romance. She’s well-known for her intense page-turning motorcycle clubs, and sinister dark mafia books.
While Elizabeth loves to write, she is an avid reader as well, who reads a mixture of genres. She lives on a farm with her husband in the northeastern United States with her rescue animals. When she isn’t working, you can find her horseback riding, riding ATVs, or out on the farm with her animals.
Eden is a strong character who has been placed in several difficult situations from the Sanctuary to now being placed in an auction where men will bid on her, and the highest bidder wins. Vaughn is one of the men at this auction and is instantly drawn to Eden and paid several millions to own Eden. Eden thinks Vaughn is just like everyone else she has come across and just wants to control her. But she learns that he isn't quite what he seems. There were moments I was hoping Eden would escape and moments I was rooting for them. This has some very dark topics so be sure to read TWs before going in.
Eden, having run away from her dangerous life finds herself into another and lands in an auction. Scared for her life and not knowing what will happen, she attracts the attention of a dangerous man who not only brings her to his estate but gives her space when she expected a monster.
Vaughn, has been trying to be a part of the inner circle of the Consortium. He doesn't have interest in these events and has never had someone before from these events but when his eyes connect with the girl on the stage, he knows he needs to have her.
I really liked how this book started, I was so intrigued watching everything that was happening. Angry at times and sad for the other girls.
But Vaughn really surprised me, inspite of wanting Eden he does really give her everything she needs and doesn't really bother her.
I liked the fact that he understood the very outdated and patriarchal background she came from which taught her to be restrained and how women are nothing.
The Way he gifts her books to make her understand her own body and her desires were so sweet and the way he takes things slow, takes time to understand her really made me love their dynamic and the connection they were building.
But somewhere, around the second half of the book felt like everything changed. The dynamic, the base they had established in their relationship didn't feel the same.
I really liked this book in the first half and only wish it would have been the same till the end.
💓💖💓 Vaughn and Eden 💓💖💓 I enjoyed this book. They werent suppose to fall in love. It was a business transaction between Vaughn and some others. Good book! Will keep you wondering what happens next. Elizabeth Knox is an amazing author and I highly recommend this book!.

I enjoyed this book and I didn’t enjoy it. As MMC Vaughn was wont to say, both can be true.
The book felt like two stories. The first was a slow-burn “girl for sale, guy buys her, he teaches her to trust, she teaches him how to love” tale. Vaughn was learning to care about Eden, then suddenly, book 2 started. Vaughn switches back to the cold, unfeeling man he was at the auction and snaps into a mindset of her being his property. She finds evidence that what she (and we) thought was him caring was only meant to manipulate/condition her; he confirms it. The confusing bit is that we know he wanted a genuine connection with her and we saw him doing that, but then he said that was all part of an act — if so, why didn’t we know about it? We knew he was juggling unfamiliar emotions and trying to be respectful of Eden’s trauma. Was fooling the reader during his chapters part of the plan? All the goodwill I was feeling for Vaughn — especially after he researched how to help her heal — vanished. There was no coming back from his cruelty; I couldn’t trust that the love that sprang out of nowhere was real.
I liked: 💜 Eden’s incredible inner strength. She’d been through so many awful things but managed to hold on to who she was. Even when being forced to adapt to new circumstances, her steel core remained. 💜 Vaughn’s employees. Housekeeper Mrs. Silva was the sweet, almost motherly figure Eden needed and Vaughn’s assistant Callum was hard-working and loyal (while also being the voice of reason on occasion). Both had good words to say to Eden about Vaughn, while acknowledging he wasn’t perfect.
I didn’t care for: 💔 Repetition of thoughts/phrases. This was particularly noticeable in the second half of the book. An expression I usually like the main characters to say — I love you — was used so often it became annoying. I don’t know if they were saying it so often trying to reassure each other or convince themselves but it was said so often it became meaningless. 💔 The confusing denouement. Vaughn and Eden say repeatedly they’re “going to burn down” the Consortium at the showcase but all they do is refuse to perform. That has no effect on them as an organization. Vaughn tells them he has proof of their illegal activities but obviously they’re not that concerned, because they damage Vaughn’s business anyway. 💔 Details that didn’t add up. For instance, Eden somehow knows that Consortium interference has cost Vaughn $50 million, but Vaughn hasn’t said that figure yet. Also, Vaughn was training Eden for a full performance, and Victor referenced the same on his phone call with Vaughn, but when they got to the showcase, each couple was responsible for only one part. 💔 The redefining of “choice.” A major theme of the book is choice — of Eden’s absence of choice. She never had one, yet she comes to view her participation in the showcase to be one. Vaughn wants her to choose him and she replies that she can’t because she’s not free. Then within the next couple of pages, she’s decided that she’ll not only do the showcase (and thus give Vaughn what he’s wanted for years from the Consortium), but she loves him. She’s smart enough to recognize that it could be Stockholm syndrome. I think it’s clear that she’s broken — but he is too. They feel whole together. Who’s to say that’s not love?.

Eden just wanted to be free, to live life on her terms and make her own choices. She was stuck in a cult called the Sanctuary, which was anything but. In two weeks, she was being forced to marry someone way older than her; however, she found a way to escape. Unfortunately, she ran from one cage into another. Eden ends up on an auction block where men bid on women to own within a powerful and horrible group called The Consortium. There are only a small number of people in it, and they are the ones who can help you succeed or destroy you.
When Eden is up next, she locks eyes with Vaughn, a successful businessman, and they both feel a connection. He is only there as a formality; he is close to joining the Consortium, so he can secure his business and make sure it continues to grow. He never found an interest in the auction and was not in support of it, but being at the auction was part of the initiation into the group. After feeling that connection to Eden, though, he decides this is the time he will bid, and he takes her home.
Oh Eden! I felt so bad for everything she went through, not once but twice. All she knew was captivity and cruelness. I'm having a hard time with my thoughts on her character. She was able to escape 'The Sanctuary' (and was successful) and did attempt to get away from Vaughn (but it didn't work), so she was a fighter in that sense. But she gave in to Vaughn so easily all the other times, even though she knew she was probably being manipulated, and I really wish she had pushed back, even a little bit. But then, on the other hand, she did come from a cult that taught her that she had to be submissive and that females were just 'property'. So I get why she didn't fight back much. I guess it was her way to survive.
As for Vaughn, I really liked him at the start. Sure, he took her home, but he seemed sweet and was patient with her, which warmed my heart. But things shifted so fast, and I was so enraged. He didn't hurt her, which I liked, but it was more the way he manipulated her that I found challenging. There were a few chapters in the middle that I had a hard time getting through, as I was so overwhelmed and angry. I understood the reasons behind it, and I did come back around to him eventually!
Although they did have chemistry, I found the spicy scenes sometimes harder to read because of their situation. I don't want to say too much else as I don't want to give things away, but they do get their HEA!!

HUNT YOU DOWN is the second instalment in Elizabeth Knox’s contemporary, adult DARK HOLIDAY, dark, erotic, romance series. This is billionaire businessman Vaughn Sutherland, and twenty-three year old Eden Finch’s story line. HUNT YOU DOWN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there maybe triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Eden and Vaughn) HUNT YOU DOWN follows in the wake of the ‘purchase ‘ of our story line heroine. Eden Finch was raised in a religious cult known as the Sanctuary, but two weeks before her ‘arranged marriage’ Eden ran, and believing she located someone to help, found herself on the auction block , where she was about to be sold to the highest bidder. Vaughn Sutherland is a man determined to seek revenge for sins of the past but his membership into The Consortium means participating in events he would prefer to ignore. The sight of a young woman, determined never to submit, forced Vaughn to take control. Buying and claiming Eden as his own was only the first step on the road to revenge but Vaughn never expected to fall in love with the woman whose heart and soul he was about to destroy.
The world building focuses on the preparation and training of our story line heroine in an effort to save her life. Vaughn, in essence, rescued and saved the woman with whom he will fall in love but The Consortium wants proof, and our couple must face the people in charge.
The relationship between Vaughn and Eden begins as a purchase; a forced proximity in the face of betrayal and ownership. Eden is an innocent, and struggles with her attraction to a man who could destroy her life, but as the days and weeks go by, our couple find themselves focusing on a potential future, if only they can escape the threats coming down from the top. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.
The secondary and supporting characters are limited. We are introduced to Vaughn’s caring housekeeper Mrs. Silva, his assistant Callum, and Consortium member Victor Hargrove.
HUNT YOU DOWN is a story of power and control, betrayal and obsession, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dark, dramatic and edgy but there is some question of prior knowledge on behalf of our story line heroine; the romance is seductive; the characters are desperate, determined, and colorful.
I thought I escaped hell when I ran from the Sanctuary.
He made me want things I shouldn't want.
So, I ran.
I made it a few hours before he found me.
I expected punishment. Expected pain. Expected him to finally show me the monster beneath the patient facade.
Instead, he gave me pleasure.
Over and over until I broke. Until I begged. Until I couldn't remember why I ever wanted to leave.
Now I sleep in his bed, not the guest room. Now he watches my every move. Now every choice I thought I had is gone—except one.
Submit willingly to his training for the Consortium gathering, or he'll break me until I do. And the worst part? I'm starting to want to submit.
The Sanctuary stole her childhood. Vaughn Sutherland bought her virginity. And when she runs? He'll hunt her down and teach her that the only freedom she'll ever have is the kind he gives her.
This contemporary dark age-gap Valentine's MMC romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building that is engulfed by darkness, danger, power, violence, and grit, and characters who are a hunter/prey/obsessive MMC/hero, brooding, dangerous, violent, exuding power/wealth, and who thinks love is ownership, patience is a weapon, and Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to buy something priceless/ a female heroine who are both resilient, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with hunt you down, explicit romance that is consumed by steamy, sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers breathless and begging for more, chaos/drama, suspense that is sure to leave readers on the edge of their seats, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with hunt you down and a dark Valentine's MMC age-gap romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is dangerous, lustful, and unforgettable.

@ 23 Eden Finch lived this life. 2 weeks before having to marry Elder Jacob and be bride # 4 was not what she was wishing for. Escape was her outlet, but from a frypan into the fire she went.
A girl who ran, who survived, fighting when life was impossible still didn’t quite save her from her new outcome. Being auctioned @ The Consortium. An elite club of sexual trafficking.
A new predator - Vaughn Sutherland is now her owner. @ 2 Million $$$$. Eden belonged to no one as she told herself, well now she sadly does. She escaped one cage only to be placed in a new gilded cage.
Vaughn, not only part of The Consortium, but wanting to be part of the inner circle. Why? What is his end game?
This has been a dangerous read. - * Auctions * Sold as cattle * Escape * Acquisitions * Survival * Expectations But also in a strange way, a beautiful setting. Each page was a gripping read.
Time : time was of the essence. This is what it takes to either trust someone or hide behind shadows forever. Eden has been shown only one way in life. Expectations of The Sanctuary but now also Vaughn & The Consortium. An exhibition of ownership, trading to be of sexual use. What I loved was the description of The Consortium- “connoisseurs of consensual submission” what a way to pat themselves on the back 🙄
Let’s summarise, and I hope I didn’t spoil. Overwhelming is a word that may be used here. This was more than acquisition. It was Power but misleading. It was want but with expectations. Everything was thrown here. As stated in the summary by Elizabeth, there was
* Stockholm Syndrome * Depravity * Ownership * Human Trafficking * Abuse / Degradation * Inner Circle of Machoism
An innocence in understanding their own body and needs. Vaughn & Eden - MINE. Trust and Love, 2 words that make or break.
This requires readers who wont judge. An open mind is needed as it will offend. In-depth of an innocent traded as cattle.
Audiobook - 4/5 “Hunt You Down” had me intrigued from the start due to the FMC’s traumatic background as well as her unfortunate predicament in the beginning of the book. Eden has struggled her entire life and just when she thought she escaped hell, she found out that she simply stepped into another realm of it. I’m a sucker for any story involving religious trauma, because regardless of what anyone’s thoughts are on religion, there are some sick individuals out there that abuse its power to aid in their favor. Unfortunately, religious trauma is (or has been) a very scary reality for more people than you’d probably realize.
Without giving away any huge spoilers, just the thought of Eden’s past as well as her being sold at an auction within a secret society along with several other young women in the very beginning of the book was enough to hook me in for the long haul. I couldn’t stop listening for the first three quarters of the book - it was damn near perfect. I felt as if the ending was wrapped up entirely too fast and that it was a missed opportunity to make this story incredible! Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but the ending is the only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five.
This was the first audiobook I’ve listened to with Audrey Obeyn and Tor Thom. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t too crazy about either of their voices, but I usually don’t base my rating off of that alone unless the narrator uses a horrible accent or something. The reason I’m giving the narration four stars instead of five is because of the female narrator - during her parts in the book, I noticed that she constantly “huffs” after almost every sentence and/or paragraph and for some reason, it threw me off while listening.
I thought this was a great listen, and I’m finding that I really enjoy Elizabeth Knox’s work! I’m loving the books included in her Dark Holiday series and I can’t wait to see what else she comes out with in the future.

✨️📖 On To The Book Review 📖✨️
Where do I even begin with this book? It was a wild ride that I can't stop thinking about HOURS after I finished the audiobook! All I can think about is Eden and how Vaughn really became a different man because of both of their actions.
Vaughn began this book with some respect when he told Eden how he would be treating her, but Eden knew there was much more to everything than what she could see! Vaughn shows her all of the ropes when it comes to performing. Not just solo but also for others. I loved that he took the time and care for Eden as she learned about her body! It takes a lot of patience at times when you are learning something new and your body at the same time!
Eden truly came to Vaughn as a virgin but also unknowing/innocent about so many things. But she wanted nothing of what she had been taught within the cult she was living in previously! I felt for her in every turn that she wasn't expecting!
Vaughn changed so much within the timeline of this book and I really fell for him and Eden! I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dark, disturbing, and impossible to look away
Hunt You Down goes even darker than Book 1, and Elizabeth Knox absolutely commits. This is not a romance you ease into—it drags you under and dares you to breathe.
Eden’s voice is raw and fractured in a way that makes her trauma impossible to ignore. From the Sanctuary to the Valentine’s Day auction, her loss of autonomy is brutal and deliberate, and the story never pretends otherwise. This is a world where consent is twisted, power is currency, and survival often looks like surrender. It’s uncomfortable by design—and that’s what makes it work.
Vaughn is chilling. Controlled, patient, and terrifyingly calm, he embodies the kind of MMC who believes love is ownership. He doesn’t rage or rush—he waits, watches, and closes the net. His obsession with Eden is absolute, and the psychological manipulation is far more intense than any physical threat. The push-and-pull between fear, desire, conditioning, and dependence is executed with precision.
What really stands out is how the book leans hard into dark romance as a psychological experience. Eden’s internal conflict—wanting freedom while craving the safety and pleasure Vaughn provides—is messy, disturbing, and heartbreakingly believable within this world. You’re not meant to be comfortable rooting for this relationship, but you will be compelled to keep reading.
Definitely not for everyone—but for readers who want obsession, control, moral grayness, and high-stakes darkness, this delivers exactly what it promises.
⚠️ Read the warnings. 🔥 Then decide if you’re brave enough to submit to the story anyway.

Hunt you Down is a dark read and I was captivated from the very first page until the satisfying last page! Eden was bought up in a male centric cult called the Sanctuary where women only exist to satisfy men and for procreation. Her father was selling her off to a man who already had 2 wives and was three times her age. Eden couldn’t stand the thought of being with him, so she stole some of the cults money and escaped only to be “rescued” by a woman who sold her to traffickers and she finds herself on Valentines Day dressed up in a line backstage with other women waiting their turn to go on stage to be auctioned off! Again she is being sold to someone, she had a glimpse and the room filled with well dressed men, look to be mostly older men. When it was her turn on stage she looks out and she sees a pair of ice blue eyes on her and she can’t look away, they belong to a younger man. The auction starts and the bids start with amounts coming from some of the older men in the audience and Eden is stunned when she meets those ice blue eyes again and she hears him say two million dollars! Vaughn Sutherland has bought her! The growing and changing relationship between Vaughn and Eden is a fantastic read, Eden is at first, disgusted, hating Vaughn and looking for ways to escape, Vaughn is patient with her, but is he being too patient, will he be able to fulfill the requirements of the inner circle when it’s time for the Showcase after all it’s all about the power he gains from being part of the inner circle isn’t it?.

This is the 2nd book in the A Dark Holiday series featuring Vaughn and Eden's deliciously dark and twisted, enemies to lovers, obsession, steamy romance. Eden thought that she had escaped hell when she ran from the Sanctuary the cult where women had no rights they were only there to cater to their husband's and to have children. After Eden escaped she trusts someone who she shouldn't and she's either going to be auctioned off or trafficked. Vaughn is a member who has never participated in the auctions before but he wants to look good to the other members so he goes to this one. Everything changes when Vaughn sees Eden on the auction block he's captivated by her and he pays a lot of money to own her. Once Vaughn buys her he takes her and he puts her in a room with silk sheets and locked doors where he proceeds to touch Eden in ways that made her want things that she shouldn't want. The intensity of it frightened her so she ran away however Eden didn't get very far Vaughn found her within a few hours. Eden is expecting to be punished for her escape attempt and for it to be painful instead Vaughn showers her in pleasure until she breaks. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this deliciously dark and twisted, enemies to lovers, obsession, steamy romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this deliciously dark and twisted series.

Eden & Vaughn’s story is dark and twisted, but the light shines through!
This was a dark read but I loved every second. The plot was quite intriguing, albeit a bit taboo and disturbing at times. A lot of questionable things happen but everything is carefully constructed to lead where it is supposed to. Both Eden and Vaughn are not perfect but this only made them more real to me. Eden is trapped in an auction. Vaughn is her buyer. Fate interferes from their first look. Vaughn is equally intrigued and captivated by Eden from the get go, but at the same breath he conditions her in order to use her to achieve his goal. This story had it all; a dom/sub trope, a twisted secret, powerful society and a lot of things that going on behind the scenes; things that change both Eden and Vaughn during their time together, because when feelings are involved, everything can go sideways. Eden has suffered so much in her twenty-three years on this Earth. She has escaped a cult only to find herself a captive by Vaughn. She wants to flee but is also intrigued by him. Vaughn exacts control and patience, starts grooming Eden in order to achieve his ultimate goal only to find himself falling – and hard. Can love conquer all? Can they both survive the fall out and escape the danger that lures in the form of unchallengeable power? I really couldn’t stop reading till the very last page! 4 stars

This book started off with a lot of promise. The first half was genuinely intriguing, and I found myself invested in where the story was going and how the dynamic between Eden and Vaughn would evolve. The tension was there, the setup worked, and the atmosphere kept me turning pages. Unfortunately, the second half didn’t quite live up to that strong beginning. What felt like a carefully built lead-up—especially surrounding the hunt—ended up being surprisingly anticlimactic. The stakes are technically present, but they often feel forced rather than earned, and some major plot moments are resolved simply because the story says they are, not because they naturally unfold. The romance, which had a solid foundation early on, develops very suddenly and feels rushed in the latter half. Several narrative “dominoes” are clearly set up, but not all of them fall into place in a satisfying way. The ending, in particular, feels abrupt and unfinished, as if the story ran out of time rather than reaching a true conclusion. That said, the writing style itself is fun and readable, even if it becomes a bit repetitive at times. There was real potential here, especially in the first half, and with more time and attention spent on fleshing out the latter part of the book, this could have been a much stronger and more impactful story overall.

5/5 🎧 Hunt You Down by Elizabeth Knox is a dark romance that dives into themes of captivity, manipulation, and power imbalance. Eden is raised in an ultra religious cult where obedience and motherhood define her entire existence. When she escapes just before being forced into marriage, she expects freedom but instead falls into another dangerous situation. The tone is heavy from the start and will absolutely be triggering for some readers, so checking content warnings is essential before going in.
Eden is emotionally stunted and deeply sheltered, which shapes the dynamic between her and Vaughn. He is wealthy, calculated, and used to control, and their relationship is rooted in imbalance. Much of the story centers on psychological influence presented as choice. Eden believes she is gaining independence and discovering her sexuality, yet there is a constant undertone of control guiding her decisions. Readers who gravitate toward morally gray heroes and intense psychological dynamics may find this compelling, but the themes are dark and uncomfortable.
For me, the writing itself was not particularly strong and felt repetitive throughout the book, with several phrases and ideas resurfacing again and again. At times it pulled me out of the story. The true highlight was the audiobook performance. The duet narration by Audrey Obeyn and Tor Thom elevated the material and gave the characters emotional depth that the prose alone did not always deliver.
Vaughn and Eden’s story is a dark trafficking tale, be aware of triggers and know their is dubious consent, BDSM, kidnapping, rescue from a religious cult, if any of these are emotional triggers please do not read. The storyline is as I said dark in nature, Vaughn wants to join the inner circle of the Consortium and thinks he will do anything to achieve it. Eden had run from a religious cult, right into the arms of human traffickers, ending up being bought by Vaughn at the Consortium’s Valentine’s auction. Things heat up from there, he tries to trick her into wanting him sexually, she runs , they ultimately turn the Consortium on its head. That is the storyline in a nutshell. The problem I had with this book was Eden knew things no woman who had been raised without computers, cell phones and only allowed to read the bible would know. These things stopped the storyline for me, they made zero sense for her character to know about, especially Stockholm syndrome. I could see if she were just sheltered by her family and if she had access to modern technology, but she didn’t. So what would have been a 5⭐️ read for me is a 3⭐️ read. Worth reading for the storyline and most of the characters. Difficult to read in some places due to the degradation of some acts demanded by the MML.

Like with every other Elizabeth Knox novel I've read, I was utterly captivated. This literally dug it's claws into me and held tight till the very end. I was absolutely enthralled!
This novel centers on Eden and Vaughn. Eden had a very difficult past, growing up at a religious commune, which she escaped from after learning she was going to be forced to marry a man much older than her. Unfortunately, after she ran from the commune, she trusted the wrong person and was trafficked then sold and bought at an auction by Vaughn. Vaughn had made an appearance at the auction, as he had at previous ones, because it was expected of him, given his social status and who he was affiliated with, but he'd never before participated until he saw Eden, who he was immediately drawn to and wanted in a visceral, soul-deep way. But given Eden's past, believing your body is a sin and the way in which she ended up with Vaughn, can he show her that it's ok to experience pleasure, that she's safe with him and that she's more to him than just a purchase?
There was absolutely nothing I didn't love about this book. The characters, the plot, the way it was put together and fleshed out was done with perfect precision. My only complaint is that it had an ending. This is one of those novels that will stay with you long after you're finished reading it. So, so very, very good!!!
Hunt You Down is book 2 in Elizabeth Knox’s Dark Holiday romance Series. A complete standalone!
Please check your triggers, your mental health matters and there are some dark themes.
Narrated in duet narration by Audrey Obeyn and Tor Thom. The narration was incredible! The raw emotion from these narrators really set the tone for this book!
Eden, our FMC, is a woman who really went through it. Her upbringing was built around women being for one thing and one thing only, to be owned. She ran, she got away only to find herself caught and being auctioned off as a bride to billionaire men. All to establish power.
Vaughn Sutherland, our MMC, the one who purchased Eden… for 2 MILLION dollars. Putting Eden back into cage she thought she escaped. Little does she know he happens to be slightly different.. but still craves that power.
You really have to read/listen to get the full picture without spoilers.
There is an air of coming into your own sexuality. But slightly forced. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because this wasn’t one of my favorite tropes and sometimes the book felt slightly repetitive. Overall, I did enjoy the book and LOVED the narration.
Thank you to the author Elizabeth Knox as well as the narrators Audrey Obeyn and Tor Thom. And of course Blue Nose Audio for the opportunity to ALC this. As always my reviews are honest and 100% my own! 🖤
Where do I begin, please remember to read the trigger warnings only you can protect your mental health. I have mix feelings about these book. Let's start at the beginning the main character Eden is from a religious cult. She tries running away and instead in an auction. In comes Vaughn, he purchases Eden at the auction. Eden is very stubborn and act like somebody who hasn't been in a religious cult where women have no opinion. So at times I find myself feeling like this is a misrepresentation of the character or maybe the author didn't think her behavior all the way through when you referring to somebody who's been conditioned like that. Vaughn is pretty good as far as the male character. He's your typical bossy, possessive, businessman. There's parts about this book that don't make sense. The last 20% of the book was not as entertaining as the first eighty percent. I wanted more, it seems like the plot was an afterthought. I don't see an organization that powerful just letting it ride out. After Vaughn got hit with his b/s, you would think that he would have done something but he didn't. I feel like there was a little bit of a missed opportunity with the end of the book and it feels rushed like somebody was hurrying to complete the story.

Eden escaped the Sanctuary where she grew up and was promised to marry Elder Jacob a man forty-one years older than her and he has three other wives. Eden ran two weeks before the wedding. She ended up in a bus station and was approached by a woman named Sarah. Sarah ended up taking her to a warehouse where Eden ended up being a part of an auction. Eden has fire and some of that showed on the auction stage. Eden met the eyes of a man who she hoped would save her. Vaughn has been attending the auctions put on by the Consortium for 5 years. He vowed that after his father died in bankruptcy that he would never let that happen to him. Vaughn wants to align himself with the Consortium so he can be untouchable. The moment that Eden came on stage Vaughn’s attention was sparked. He ended up bidding two million dollars for her. His plan is to train her and display her at the Spring Gathering of the Consortium. Will Eden willingly be an acquisition for Vaughn? Will Vaughn be able to train Eden for the Spring Gathering? Will Eden and Vaughn develop feelings for each other? I will start off by saying that although this book is not as dark as some other dark romances, it might be triggering due to the themes that run through this book.
Now, this book brought out some complicated feelings in me. I could understand Vaughn and Eden's feelings, but I actually found myself not wanting them to become an item in one breath, while a small part of me wanted them to be together. But I did find myself questioning whether what they have together is really love. It's not conventional, that's for sure. But I did find myself, for the first time, hoping that the guy didn't get the girl - hoping that she would get the freedom that she wanted.
I think a good book is one that makes you question things, and this one had me questioning whether Vaughn and Eden's feelings are pure, or a product of the power dynamic that existed initially in their relationship.
In all, the writing is absolutely wonderful, and the characters are brilliant, and on a side note Callum did pique my interest, as he did have me wondering what his story is.

“The trauma doesn’t become acceptable because something good came from it. But the good doesn’t become less meaningful because it grew from trauma.” (P. 345)
Eden suffered a lifetime of religious abuse by a cult. She escapes, but is almost immediately drugged and trafficked. Vaughn has participated in this crime. But he researches religious trauma and consults a psychologist to try and help Eden. It’s a mind warp. The MMC, Vaughn, purchases Eden, a trafficked woman. They fall in love. Both things can be true. I am not the right audience for this book. It is a superb book. Both things can also be true, as can the fact that I felt all the extremes about it at both ends of the spectrum. Bottom line is, if you like dark romance that’s shades of grey rather than being entirely morally bankrupt or if, like me, you like reading books that make you ask questions, this book will impact you. And isn’t that what good literature does?.

🎧ALC Review: Hunt You Down Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Dark, intense, and not for the faint of heart—check your triggers before diving in.
This story explores the fine line between protection and obsession. Vaughn, initially a buyer who “rescues” her from one hell, becomes her captor in another. The shift from control to care is unsettling yet captivating. As she agrees to the showcase, the reader questions whether it’s empowerment, survival instinct, or Stockholm syndrome. This tension drives the book’s impact.
Real trauma and messy healing are woven into the spice, culminating in an earned HEA.
Tor Thom’s gravelly narration perfectly captures Vaughn’s dominant, controlled, simmering nature. Audrey Obeyn’s vulnerability and quiet strength make every conflicted choice feel real.
Dark romance lovers who enjoy obsession, control dynamics, and emotional intensity will enjoy this book!
Thank you to @bluenoseaudio and @authorelizabethknox for sending me an ALC to review!
Hunt You Down is a dark, emotionally heavy romance that can be read as a standalone. Eden escapes a cult and a forced marriage, only to end up on an auction block controlled by the powerful Consortium. Just when she thinks she’s found freedom, she’s purchased by billionaire Vaughn Sutherland—a man who never intended to bid but can’t ignore their connection. Eden’s story is heartbreaking. Raised to believe women are property, she survives the only way she knows how. While I sometimes wished she had pushed back more, her reactions felt realistic given her past. Vaughn starts off patient and controlled, but his manipulation and shifting power dynamic made parts of this hard to read. I was angry in the middle—but I eventually understood his deeper motivations. Their relationship begins with ownership and forced proximity, slowly evolving into something more. The chemistry is there, though some scenes are intense given the circumstances. Dark, dramatic, and morally gray, this story isn’t easy—but it delivers a hard-earned HEA for readers who enjoy edgy, power-driven romance.
Book 2 in the A Dark Holiday series: Vaughn and Eden. This is an enemies to lovers, innocent but strong survivor FMC, girl on the run, age gap (36, 23), obsession at first sight, size difference, religious trauma, power imbalance, billionaire MMC, “secret society” inner circle, captor x captive dynamic, dark suspense psychological romance. Eden was on the run escaping a cult she was born into. But in her road to escape she was ensnared in an equally sinister situation. Sold in an action she feels she traded one cage for another, but what she doesn’t know is that Vaughn is not like the other buyers.. This gave me Beauty and the Beast vibes. It was a really great listen but definitely pushed the boundaries of Stockholm syndrome vs real blooming love. I personally really liked this story but it is definitely a dark romance. The audiobook narration was done perfectly. In complete duet narration and amazing performances. I would definitely recommend this to a fan of the genre but trigger warnings should be read.
This is the second book in this series and while it is dark, it's not as dark as the first book. Eden escapes The Sanctuary, basically a cult, where women have no rights and are taught that their only purpose is to serve their husband and procreate. After escaping, she trusts the wrong person and must either agree to be auctioned off to the highest bidder or be a victim of trafficking. Vaughn purchases her and begins to teach her about her body and desires. His ultimate goal is to train her to be his toy who will be required to demonstrate his teachings at a meeting of the Consortium, where he is seeking to become a member. Circumstances change as both Vaughn and Eden learn things about themselves and each other. They eventually get their HEA but not without costs, both professionally and personally.

I have been a long time reader of Elizabeth Knox book and I have loved each and every one but this book really stood out amongst them all and it is my absolute favourite. I loved the journey with Vaughn and Eden. It wasn’t an easy road and at times it felt as though they would not come out intact on the other side but their strength and determination won out and this story was emotional and so very beautiful especially the end when Eden used her journey as motivation to help others. The book is dark and you must heed the trigger warnings but this is a story that you will steal your heart and you will be wrapped up in everything Eden and Vaughn. Could not put this book down and did not want it to end. Highly recommend.

This was an interesting read. The first half was good and intruiging. I was interested in where the plot was going and how the dynamic between Eden and Vaughn would change. The second half of the book felt rushed and unfinished though. There’s a lead up to this hunt, which is very anti-climatic and avoids being inconsequential only because the book says so. The way the romance develops felt sudden and unrealistic. I think a lot of dominoes were set up that didn’t quite fall the right way in the end, if they did at all. The ending feels abrupt and the stakes feel somewhat forced. The first half had potential, but the second half could’ve used more time and attention to be more fleshed out. The writing style is fun but can be a bit repetitive. ARC received from Booksprout in exchange for honest review.
The characters are both strong willed and fighting for the freedom they deserve. They met under circumstances out of the ordinary, this puts them both at a disadvantage. Vaughn bought Eden, after she had escaped from her cults grounds only to be kidnapped by someone she thought might a friend. When they finally were together, they had to figure out how to get along and survive. Eden isn’t thrilled about being bought as a prize, but she slowly learns that Vaughn isn’t trying to hurt her, just show her that her sexuality isn’t bad or un-Godly. Together they learn to trust each other and slowly they fall in love. When it comes time to bring her to the showcase of the Consortium, Vaughn decides to tell them no and take to the road to protect Eden, their love continues to grow and become stronger.
