Jen Morrison had Reader’s Digest books about the Aztecs and the Incas at the same time she had Barbie dolls. She moved to England when her stepdad was stationed at an Air Force base there and spent all her time coaxing family members who could drive on the right to take her to Stonehenge and/or any castle in the country. During college summers, she demonstrated candle dipping to tourists in a long dress her mom made at a historical village in her hometown.
She attained her master’s degree in public history and continued her history obsession as a professional in a series of positions primarily in Michigan. She has worked in museums and historic sites, done freelance and volunteer work, written for local history publications and websites, organized workshops and conferences, and done a considerable amount of public speaking.
Morrison spent fifteen years in the local history department of the Grand Rapids Public Library. She then served as the Aquinas College archivist as well as the associate archivist for the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
