Good

One of the best books I've read recently. Like the characters and the setting. What a way to make the Mc appreciate mideval luxuries

makes no sense

Look, I enjoy a good OP character but it’s got to make sense.

You can’t just expect the reader to believe a 10 year shut in with no physical experience is a crack shot with a bow without at least explaining the reasoning behind it. It’s not hard ‘she had small training as child’ something along them lines.

Additionally the sudden acceptance of her situation without any mental response is just stupid. No one and I mean no one would just accept it in real life.

This is all in the first chapter too, as I didn’t make it any further.

She used to be a fat shut-in.

Now she's a psychopath murderer with zero compassion and humanity. Doesn't make sense. How did she become a mass murderer psychopath? She gives the orders to have someone murdered right in front of her, and has zero regret, or any other feelings about it. She does take her clothes tho, she's real happy about getting some extra clothes off of the girl she murdered.

The MC is told about a fellow Human girl being endlessly raped by goblins... Does she try to save them? Nope. Not just that, but she just says "not my problem". Not that she "can't save them because she is still too weak", just does not care at all. Once she takes over the goblins, days later, the girl is pregnant by a goblin and just wants to die. She kills her, and thinks nothing of it. Like WTF?

I know she is cosplaying as a "villain". But this is just ridiculous.

Everyone acts extremely childish, they all talk like a gen alpha trolls on twitter. It doesn't fit the scenario. These are supposed to be regular rebirthed isekai people.

I feel like this book could work, if the whole thing were just an Full Dive Online Video Game. Then the extremely bloodthirsty actions, and the childish teen-speak, would all make sense. The only thing that wouldn't make sense, is the endless raping of one girl by the goblins. That would still be insane. That person would hopefully be ejected by the game, instead of going through endless trauma.

The wrong usage of the word "whale" feels really weird to me. Is this author pretending to be a gamer? But got her "gaming lingo" mixed up? A whale is not an overpowered player... A whale is a rich loser who spends 100,000 dollars on a gacha game. The author keeps referring to powerful players as "whales"... it is weird.

The use of "zerg rush" in the book is also wrong. Undeads do not zerg rush. Undeads win by attrition, they win by growing ever stronger, maintaining army numbers.

"Alliesh? Who needsh allies!? I'm sho cool and shtrwong. Hawing alliesh is like Shlavery. I will shtay solo. I am soooo stwong i dun needsh alliesh!"

🤦‍♂️ The main character is getting more cringe by the chapter.

This book is a bit of a mess:
- The fact that she's a gamer somehow means she's an expert with a bow
- The skeleton MC has to beat 7 increasingly difficult challenges in 24 hours to get a new chance at life. She takes 7 hours to finish the 2nd challenge. One of the possible rewards is so broken it may as well be infinite physical damage. Why? She didn't earn it at all.
- She's a generic skeleton, not known for being fast or slow. She gets a 200% speed increase, so she should now be twice as fast, so decently impressive but nothing legendary. Yet, somehow, she can outrun a dragon's breath attack.
- She gets her chance at is sent to her 'kingdom', where she 'scans the area' and comes to the conclusion there are no resources. How does she instantly know this? Did she see if there's any good stone that can be quarried? Look for ore buried underground? See if the soil is good for farming?
- It's supposed to be a kingdom builder, but she only has undead. Not much of a kingdom
- Upgrades/new buildings have a timer after which they just instantly appear. They don't have to actually be built.
- It's implied that before all of the lords arrived, the world didn't really have any sentient races (I'm not counting goblins) so not sure how kingdom building is going to work.
- Her attitude suggests she'd taking the 'I'm a necromancer so I have to be evil' route, or at least *seriously* doesn't give a shit about other people
- Loot mechanics (not a fan personally)
- Further to above, the whole thing comes off less as an Isekai, and more as writing about someone playing a game. It's doesn't feel even remotely realistic. As far as we know there's no preexisting towns, villages, etc, just the troops the lords get, so how is it kingdom building? The only food is monster meat, so scurvy for everyone! It feels more like a game with no thought to how to make it even remotely realistic.

I almost finished this, and I regret continuing to read it as long as I did.

The protagonist is a terrible person who does not seem to view most people as people. She casually murders someone who offended her, for example, even though they're begging for mercy and pose no threat. She feels no remorse at all, and is primarily motivated by greed and a hunger for power. Some of the secondary characters are far nicer than she is, which is part of the reason I kept going.

This book is a LitRPG, which in this case means that everyone is playing what is effectively a Real Time Strategy game patterned after games like Warcraft. After Lillith's death, she's transported to a world where she can summon underlings to gather resources and fight for her, and she can spend resources to magically create buildings that improve her little kingdom. In Lillith's case her underlings are undead like skeletons and zombies, but other "players" have human, mermen, or goblin underlings, to name a few examples.

It's not entirely a game, it's a real world with native inhabitants despite the game mechanics, and people can and do die. As I mentioned, Lillith murders one of the other players while they're helpless.

Almost all of the transported players behave like idiotic teenage boys, regardless of gender, age, or background. They use a particular flavor of gamer slang constantly, and take a very childish approach to everything. What's worse, some of the world's native inhabitants use contemporary Gen Z slang like "simping," even though they know nothing of Earth or its culture. Very few characters behave like adults, and most are almost as casual about murder as Lillith.

One odd thing is that protagonist frequently refers to herself as a "whale," meaning she's strong. That's not what "whale" means in gaming. It refers to players who spend grotesque amounts of real-world money to buy game advantages. It's usually associated with poor players who are buying victory.

I did find the exploration, growth, and battles somewhat engaging, so I can't honestly give it one star, as much as I despised most of the characters.

What finally ended my interest in the book was how focused Lillith was on killing and expanding her empire just to meet goals handed about from above by the game. She had really become a textbook Evil Overlord.

Great Story…but

Now I will start to say that I really enjoy the story as I had been looking for a good kingdom builder/survival-ish type story. Now what I loathe more than anything is inconsistency. As a reader it is tragic to basically have to turn my brain off at times and just look at the overall story instead of the details. This is a kingdom builder and there are levels I like to track that type of stuff. I find it part of the enjoyment but that’s where consistency comes in. You can’t tell me someone listed 15 of an item, sold everything and then calculate the profit based on 10 items sold. Where did the other 5 vanish and this is literally the same page. A few chapter back said made it to level 7 and cool new upgrade to weapon but now we just made it to level 5 or 6 and now we are pushing for 7…how? There are quite a few times that things like this happen and it is tragic to me cause I really enjoyed the story. I’ll keep reading but damn do I hope that this problem gets rectified in future books.

Liked the progression

Unlike most other progression stories here the character progresses rather rapidly. This is the main reason I like the story and giving it 5 stars.

However, you need to know two things that may annoy you. First, if you have writing knowledge you would know the saying “show, not tell”. Well this story usually tells rather than showing. Second, there are lots of small inconsistencies. Nothing major, just small stuff but enough that it annoyed me. Things like people knowing stuff that they shouldn’t, sometimes even the opposite. One example that comes to mind is towards the end one person gets surprised that she is a woman even though her name has goddess in it. However, these don’t affect the story much so they are just minor annoyances.

A very fun ride

This is simple, to the point, no fluff, and constant progression. Some authors get stuck on certain characters or go into too much detail. If you’re looking to read about a badass competent character where the book simply flows without overstaying its welcome, this is for you. Also, as this is obviously an undead class, it was so refreshing to finally read an MC who didn’t flinch when it came to conflict, murder, and death. The author doesn’t try to make it super heavy. The MC doesn’t sit there and have a long internal moral debate. She is what her class and system progression demands. A ruthless leader who does what is necessary. Wish this had an audiobook…

on to the next book

Oh so much fun to read from start to finish. I usually don’t like when they break the wall do you see that everyone is in a game or the system is talking to them quite like in this story but it was great here. The MC was amazing her companions amazing the world itself pretty good can’t complain. I powered through the book and I don’t mean struggled. I pushed through it to get to the end so I can get to the next book in the series. I had to write a review because the author asked believe me I have to get to book 2 tonight so I’ll make it quick 5.0 stars give it a read and then leave a review it’s worth it.

AI slop

Only read a few chapters in before it became painfully obvious that most of the book had been written by a chatbot. The point I became certain was when, after foregoing the “growth 2” trait, the system message…suddenly directly addressed her, as though it had a mind and personality, when it had never done that before-and if you’ve ever used ChatGPT, you know EXACTLY the kind of asinine, memed-on affirmation the system gave her.

I can *guarantee* that this “book” was an RP the…I refuse to call them an author, so-the poster, had with some chatbot or other.

DNF’d on chapter 4, do not recommend-boring, nonsensical, waste of good premise.

It’s great! I’m a sucker for an OP main character. It’s a little heavy on the violence against women, but that’s pretty realistic considering gamer culture.
Someone complained about the mc killing people and not being traumatized. THANK GOD SHE’S NOT. It’s so annoying to read that in every other book. Who reads game lit or fantasy because they want to be reasonable? Kill more people! Be an op monster! It’s entertaining!

Interesting Story

An interesting story, but the dialogue is very childish and reminds me of half-baked anime lines. Not much thought process at all when it comes to dialogue. There is no fluid transitions and it’s very to the point - so much so that it shows complete lack of effort.

The concept is interesting and I’ll definitely be reading more, but hopefully the writing improves as the series continues.

highly enjoyable base builder

I enjoyed this book. Mix of necromancy and base building with isekai/reincarnation and some light kingdom politics thrown in. Decently edited. A fairly neutral FMC. I think my only “complaint” is how quickly the first section moved through her getting her race. It was almost a throw away section. But overall I very much enjoyed this book and will be eagerly continuing the series

Book one

This book was a relatively fast and good read.
Editing was very good as far as I could tell. Anything I felt was wrong will be listed on Goodreads like normal.

If it was good why only three stars?
Two real reasons,

1) Sound effects! Absolutely hate having them in a book. Messes with the story that my imagination is painting. This isn't a comic book or some Asian manga.

2) She killed a girl for her clothes one minute and the next she has fuzzy slippers and sweatpants.
I know that we the reader are supposed to go, well she bought them in town and let it go,
However it was a border town around medieval level of technology. No way they are advanced enough for fuzzy slippers or sweatpants. Since we don't get to see her trading with other Lords for clothing I felt that this was out of place and a missed opportunity for some extra character interaction.

5/I0 Like I said good read if you like a seriously OP character. I'm off to find book two.

A solid easy read

Really enjoyed the start of this new series. It seems to me that the main character might have things too easy, but it does make it a nice easy story to read, which I enjoy. And the world building is phenomenal.

A captivating read!

I absolutely devoured this book! The premise is awesome, and different enough to most other litrpgs that it feels completely unique! I love the MC, and her power set! The world building is fantastic! I'm on to book 2 right now!
