Chasing the Unexpected: A Seductive Tale of Passion, Betrayal, and the Courage to Start Over

She thought marriage meant forever. Until one message, one night, changed everything.

Nyla Jayston has been trying to conceive for months — trusting, hopeful, and sure her life with Clark Sumner is solid. Then a late-night text appears on his phone from a woman named a selfie, a seduction, a lie. What looks like a mistake becomes the first crack in a carefully built world.

When Nyla follows a stranger’s taunting message to a villa at 4 a.m., she finds the proof she never wanted to see. Betrayed, humiliated, and hollowed by anger, she runs from the life she thought was unbreakable — straight into a bar and into a decision that will change her forever.

But the night spirals further. Drunk and disoriented, Nyla stumbles into the wrong hotel room and nearly becomes the victim of something far worse — until the shocking face of her attacker reveals a truth more tangled than she imagined. Clark’s uncle, Damon, a man she’d been warned to avoid, is at the center of a dangerous secret that threatens more than a marriage.

Torn between fury and heartbreak, Nyla makes the hardest leave. Clark begs, threatens, and tries to bargain for the life they once shared — but trust is not something that returns on command. As alliances shift and buried loyalties surface, Nyla must decide whether to let betrayal define her… or to reclaim her life on her own terms.

If you like emotionally charged domestic suspense, dark romance, and stories of love tested by lies, Chasing the Unexpected will keep you turning pages late into the night. Fans of second-chance love, marriage betrayal dramas, and emotionally raw heroines will be hooked.b

Read books 1-6 This sucked me in immediately! So much that I could overlook the spelling and errors, I read all of them nonstop. My only issue is it just keeps going. Each book takes around 7+ hours to read. They could easily be more compressed with less dragging things out. This series broke me, I’ve sobbed for hours, laughed, been through every emotion possible. The emotional roller coaster is insane.

Spoilers coming………

I’m all for some struggles and triumph but the lack of any happiness is daunting and makes you want to give up reading it, this series made me so emotionally not okay. then you hit a point and need to know what’s next. The death & memory loss bc of hypnosis and then the struggle and heart break dragged out is irritating. Sorry but people want some happiness and joy.
Nyla, Damon & Buddy deserve better!

I probably won’t read the next books because I just need it to end!

The author has got great skills but they aren’t defined to create a start and finish it drags., each book ending at random spots. If I’d known it was 8 books continuing the same story I wouldn’t have started it

WASTE OF TIME

This book is trash. Quite a few editing mistakes (repeated chapters, inconsistent plot points and flow, and jumping around), very repetitive and amateur writing. Novice at best. And over 300 chapters and nothing between the Nyla and Damon. I had it a chance through 2.5 books and am just stopping because it’s not worth it at all.
