Snow Job: A Spicy Christmas RomCom

Rate this book
He came to her rescue with a shovel. She's hoping he'll come again.

When Poppy James gets snowed in the week before Christmas, her hot neighbor Roman becomes her unlikely hero... and her biggest problem.

One minute she's trapped and panicking. The next, the gorgeous builder from across the street is shoveling her out, stripping down in her bathroom, and accidentally giving her an eyeful she'll never forget.

One case of cold-weather shrinkage. One mortifying giggle. One massive misunderstanding.

Roman's determined to prove that what she saw was just bad timing, and he's got the evidence to back it up. But when his best friend walks in mid-demonstration, Poppy realizes she might be the other woman in a love triangle she never asked to join.

Except Roman swears there's no triangle. Just a friendship he won't risk destroying, and a connection with Poppy he can't ignore.

Now she's been evicted from her rental, sleeping in his bed, and falling hard for a man who promised her a warm house for Christmas. She just didn't expect him to set her entire body on fire.

This holiday season, Poppy's learning that the best gifts come in the most unexpected packages... and sometimes, getting snowed in is exactly where you need to be.

A steamy, laugh-out-loud holiday romance about second chances, found family, and discovering that home isn't a place...it's a person.

Jessie Cooke delivers a steamy, laugh-out-loud, melt-your-socks-off holiday romance in Snow Job, a book that proves sometimes the real magic of Christmas isn’t under the tree—it’s across the street shoveling your walkway.

This story is messy in all the best ways: awkward first impressions, accidental nudity, misunderstandings that feel painfully real, and two lonely people who keep crashing into each other—literally and emotionally—until they can’t deny something bigger is building between them.

If you like your holiday reads full of heat, humor, and heartfelt moments, Snow Job is going to be your next cozy-night-in obsession.

❄️ Poppy: Stuck, Snowed-In, and Completely Unprepared

Poppy James is every one of us who has ever:

panicked during a storm,

been rescued by someone dangerously attractive,

and immediately embarrassed herself.

When she gets snowed in the week before Christmas, her survival plan goes out the window—mostly because the universe drops her smoking-hot neighbor Roman right at her doorstep… shovel in hand and arms carved by the winter gods.

But when one flustered moment leads to an accidental full-frontal view thanks to a bathroom mishap?

Poppy laughs.

She laughs.

And honestly? Same.

It's mortifying. It's human. And it’s the moment that sets off a chain of painfully hilarious events that turn her simple snowstorm into the world’s messiest meet-cute.

🔨🔥 Roman: Big, Built, and Determined to Clear More Than Her Driveway

Roman is the gruff-but-adorable builder who’s been waiting for a good excuse to talk to his cute new neighbor. He just didn’t think his big chance would involve shoveling her out of a snowdrift… or desperately trying to prove that "shrinkage" is real and temporary.

This man commits, okay?

And just when he’s mid-demonstration—trying to clear up the world’s most unfortunate first impression—his best friend walks in.

To Poppy? It looks exactly like she wandered into a love triangle.

To Roman? It’s the world’s worst timing.
And the world’s most stupid misunderstanding.

But what makes Roman unforgettable isn’t just his body (though… hello).
It’s the way he shows up for Poppy again and again—even when things get messy, complicated, or downright chilly between them.

🛏️ Forced Proximity, Fire-Level Chemistry

When Poppy gets evicted and ends up with nowhere to go, Roman does the most dangerous thing a man with a crush could ever do:

He lets her stay with him.

Now she’s sleeping in his bed.
Cooking in his kitchen.
Leaving her soft, sweet presence all over his quiet bachelor existence.

And every minute together makes it harder for Roman to remember why he swore he’d never mess things up with the people he cares about—or why he thought keeping his distance was a good idea.

Poppy didn’t ask for a love story.
She asked for a warm place to stay.

But she got both.

🎄❤️ Why Snow Job Works So Well

This book is the perfect storm of:

✨ Awkward hilarity (the bathroom scene is ICONIC)
✨ Off-the-charts sexual tension
✨ A grumpy–sweet hero who wants to do right
✨ A heroine who deserves softness and stability
✨ Found family vibes
✨ Holiday warmth sprinkled between spicy moments
✨ Real-life messiness + emotional intimacy

Roman and Poppy feel like two people who didn’t plan for each other—but simply fit. Their chemistry is instant, but their trust builds slowly, beautifully, and believably.

And the love triangle misunderstanding?
Oh, it’s chaotic.
It’s delicious.
And it sets the perfect stage for Roman to step up and prove that what he feels for Poppy isn’t convenience… it’s conviction.

Snow Job is fun, flirty, and surprisingly heartfelt. It’s about finding connection in the middle of chaos, choosing vulnerability even when it’s scary, and discovering that sometimes the universe will absolutely shove you into the arms of the right person—even if it means embarrassing you first.

If you're craving:

❄️ cozy winter vibes
🔥 spicy tension
💙 tender emotional moments
🤣 genuine humor
💋 a hero who SHOWS UP

…this snowy, steamy, heartwarming rom-com will be exactly your kind of Christmas treat.

Because sometimes the best gifts come wrapped in unexpected packages.
And sometimes?
They show up with a shovel.

This is the first book I have read by this author and she did not disappoint.
Poppy is new in town and has been admiring her hot neighbor. When she wakes up unable to leave her home because of the snow, she panics and calls her neighbor hot guy and that just starts the chaos from there.
Roman is the hot neighbor who has been looking for an excuse to meet Poppy and this is the perfect opportunity to become her hero. He grabs a shovel, and makes her a path to freedom.
It only gets funnier from there. There are misunderstandings, accidental nudity, cold weather shrinkage, inappropriate laughter and a possible love triangle. Let’s not forget the WWE smackdown in the bathroom.
This book has it all. Roman is just adorable. He is hot with a heart of gold. The way he handles his best friend was chef’s kiss.
Poppy is awkward and laughs when she gets nervous which happens to be inopportune times. Experience the most embarrassing moments with the characters while leaving with warm heartfelt thoughts. Kudos to the author.

A quick, funny Christmas story. Where misunderstandings cause incidents to happen with hilarious results between Poppy, Roman and his best friend Jessica.

Roman has been hoping to casually run into his hot new neighbour, Poppy. Poppy is happy when her neighbour helps her out, causing the temperature to spike between the two of them. But has Roman just landed himself in hot water with Jessica and the cold shoulder from Poppy? Can he dig himself out of the situation he finds himself in, or will hell freeze over first?.
