I enjoyed reading about Sandi's personal experiences in the kitchen feeding her family, but didn't find the recipes consitently good. Some my kids enjoyed, many of them were too bland or too salty. Yet the idea of planning ahead and structuring my weekly shopping has been a real winner and I'd recommend the book just to introduce those systems.
Quick, healthy food. How to do it every day for 10 weeks. Used about 5 recipes; each takes less than 20 minutes. Vegetarian options. Love the butter chicken and the African-Thai stew. And it forced me to finally buy garam masala! I can't believe I've lived 43 years without garam masala in my spice rack!
I really like Richards' other book Dinner Survival, but this one seems a lot less realistic (Thai spring rolls with about 20 ingredients plus assembly? I don't think so) and relies too heavily on adding sauces to meats (meatloaf with chutney, salmon with apricot sauce).
