Britain has invaded 171 countries in its time. So why not add a planet? In 1877 three explorers, with the authority of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, travel into space on a mission to add another pink bit to the map. Surely another species can only welcome the British with open arms. Or tentacles. Or whatever appendages they are blessed with. Wing Commodore Sir Horace Montmorency, Flight-Corporal Buster Smith and Crewman Joe Mint, flying on Her Majesty's Spaceship Victoria, arrive on a planet with a Union Flag (or Jack - I'm not getting into this), a picnic hamper and a freshly steamed plum duff.
