Captain Shadow hasn't even fully let me in yet and it's already doing something the description promised, making me feel like I'm watching a man live two completely separate lives without either one cracking. The cover pulled me in immediately: dark, atmospheric, a lone figure against a vast backdrop that whispers resistance, shadow, space war all at once. It doesn't oversell. It sets the exact mood the story delivers. And that opening question "What do you do when everyone in the galaxy is out to get you?" is the kind of hook that doesn't let you put it back down on the shelf. First impressions? This one was built with intention.

Interesting start to this series of books

The first book of this series has introduced the readers to an new hero. Captain Carr aka Captain Shadow who has been given the job of taking the battle to enemy. But as we expect it's never easy. You have the normal politician who cannot see the what is in front of their noses only power. Seems like something simpler to american politics.

Good book.

This was a good start to the series and I think it is only going to get better . Now that the humans see that the aliens don't plan on keep any peace deals I think the fight is on and it has just begun for Captain Carr.

Starts out strong and ends weak. Gets progressively preposterous, which is unfortunate after a strong start.
