The Coopers #3

Sacked: An NFL Dynasty Romance

Rate this book
“Power, legacy, secrets, and emotional warfare… I ate it UP.” —⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Review

Second chance romance. Football dynasty. High-stakes betrayal.

My life, my career, my future—was built on the Hubbards’ legacy: honor, heritage, tradition.
Or so I believed.

Now it’s all falling apart.

The Coopers aren’t just a football team.
They’re power, secrets, and emotional warfare.

Under the bright lights of Crystal Light Stadium, the real game is finally clear.
This isn’t just about the Super Bowl—
It’s about protecting my family’s dynasty at any cost.

And this is when he walks back into my life.

The man from my past.
My biggest regret… and my greatest weakness.

He wants a second chance.
A place beside me in a game ruled by loyalty, lies, and betrayal.

But in this world, trust is a risk.
And desire is a liability.

Because what we share…
It’s explosive. Dangerous. Impossible to ignore.

And it might be the one thing that brings everything crashing down.

Because football isn’t just a game.

It’s power. It’s legacy. It’s survival.
And I’ll stop at nothing to keep it alive.

Aleatha Romig really said, “You thought you knew where this was going? That’s cute.”

Sacked was packed with twists, tension, secrets, trust issues, family drama, heat, and enough emotional whiplash to leave me staring at the wall after finishing. And somehow, in the middle of all that chaos, she still managed to weave in football, the pressure of the season, and the team pushing toward the Super Bowl without it ever feeling forced. It all blended perfectly into the story.

The chemistry was intense. The emotional pull was intense. And the suspense? Ridiculous. Every time I thought I had somebody figured out, here came another reveal proving I absolutely did not.

This book constantly kept me questioning motives, loyalty, and who was really playing who. Nobody writes manipulation, obsession, and layered relationships quite like Aleatha. Being “Aleatha’d” should honestly come with a warning label at this point.

And that cliffhanger? Criminal behavior.

Now I’m sitting here needing the next book immediately because there’s no way she expected people to just casually move on after THAT ending.

What a ride… Suspense, Football 🏈 and spice all in one book, sign me up.
Reading this series is really making me wish for September and football season. I’m a huge fan of football and Aleatha’s romantic suspense stories. All the questions running through my mind, who killed Reid, will said person come after Vee next and with that cliffhanger….what will happen with Finn? I have my suspicions but they keep changing so I will have to wait for Scored. Can’t wait.

🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈 and 🌶️🌶️ : keep in mind the star review is based off of MY interests!

Okay… Aleatha… I’m loving and despising these cliffhangers! Why are you doing this to me?! I am now veryyy impatiently waiting the last book coming in September, Scored! Any chance you want to move that date sooner?

Book 3 in “The Coopers” series. I would really read books 1/2 first otherwise you’ll be confused. By far one of my favorite series in sports romances.

Sacked officially entered romantic suspense more on the suspense side. You will still see the changing of relationships: on the field, off the field, emotional and physical. The suspense and questions for all the characters start popping out, making you question everyone’s loyalty.

Fin and Vee continue their romance and trying to break through her commitment issues. Fin’s career challenges continue. And the cliffhanger from Rushed continues!

As with the other books Aleatha focuses on football and will add in some of that conversation. I personally love it and it makes it more realistic to me, a good way to progress through the seasons and have the characters pass time.

There are quite a few moving parts that I can tell are setting up the last book to take the cake on the series.

I can’t quite get a read on Rachel. But my thoughts are telling me she is trying to actually help Vee. So many of the characters we are left in suspense with and it has me sitting dumbfounded because I can’t figure it out!

The chemistry between Fin and Vee is so consistent and not too overwhelming. Yes there are some spicy scenes but I don’t think it’s overbearing. Seems like they are still in their honeymoon phase!

If you like suspenseful sports romance series, throw this one at the top of your list you will not be disappointed!

As if things hadn’t gotten complicated since her father’s death, Vee is now left reeling when yet another secret is revealed. Realizing she knows less than she thought she did about her father, she’s forced to make decisions without knowing his true motivations, and with the vultures circling, everyone’s future seems uncertain. As new revelations come forward, Vee begins to wonder whether his father’s alleged mistress was framed for his death, but with so much conflicting information, she doesn’t know who to trust.

Through her struggles, at least she has Fin by her side, as they work to make up for all the years they were apart. While he works his way back from injury, he supports her in a way that no one has. Willing to do anything to keep her safe, he begins his own research into her family history, getting information from an unlikely source.

Having been waiting for months for book 3 in the series, I was thrilled to receive an early copy from @Hambright_Pr. This book delivered in every possible way, sucking me in from the first page. The love and chemistry between Vee and Fin is off the charts, and somehow it isn’t even the most powerful part of the book. @authoraleatha has a way of weaving suspense into every part of the story, and just when you think you have someone figured out, she throws another twist at you, making you doubt everything. As if that wasn’t enough, the cliffhanger ending had me in a full panic. I cannot wait for the fourth book to come out, as I’m hoping that we’ll finally get the full picture and learn just who’s telling the truth and who will be buried under their lies.

This is a series I’m really enjoying! To be fair with this one I did skim a bit in some of the sports related parts, but the suspense and trying to figure out exactly what happened and just who in her family Vee can really trust has kept me on the edge of my seat, flipping pages as quickly as possible to find out.

This book had her ex coming back and actually maybe being someone who had some knowledge to help her, and he really did want to help her, he’s maybe not that bad of a guy. It’s hard to talk too much about this third book in the series without giving anything away, no spoilers. So I won’t talk a ton.

We just have the will being challenged, but it is unsure if the lawyer for her father/stepmother is maybe causing a lot of the issues? Because it also isn’t clear about if the stepmother is just who she is, or if she’s maybe more of a mastermind than thought? And as I mentioned there is doubt about her uncle and her cousin possibly being in on something. Not to mention information about her family and how they actually got a hold of owning the franchise and if it was all on the up and up or maybe some shady dealings or working with some shady people to get it done.

And of course we’re left with a huge cliffhanger, this time one of our two main characters being in danger of maybe not making it (although we know they will because it is a romance) it will be interesting to see where it will go. We’ve got till September to wait for those answers!

My only complaint? Lol, having this fictional football team beat my Chiefs. It’s not explicitly said it is my Chiefs, but they say they win in Kansas City, and I’m not a fan of that at all, lol. Although with how we played last year, definitely would have been a possibility.

Okay, enough, now to wait for the final book!

Touchdowns, trust Issues & emotional felonies

4 ⭐️ | 2.25 🌶️

Aleatha Romig really looked at us and said: “Answers? In this economy?”

Sacked throws us straight back into the Coopers’ world of football, power, family secrets, and enough emotional manipulation to qualify as a competitive sport.

And Vee? My girl is fighting for her life. Not literally; although, honestly, give it a few more plot twists.

She just wants to breathe. To live. To make one decision without another secret, betrayal, or suspiciously attractive man from her past blowing everything to hell. But peace? Never heard of her.

Then he comes back. The one who got away. The biggest regret. The weakness she definitely cannot afford.

Because nothing says “healthy second chance romance” like unresolved feelings, forced proximity, family warfare, and absolutely no idea who can be trusted.

Their chemistry? Dangerous. Their history? Complicated. Their timing? Completely fucking terrible. And yes, it’s sexy; but the real intimacy here is trauma bonding under stadium lights.

I’ve read Intercepted and Rushed, so I knew Aleatha Romig wasn’t going to hold my hand through this mess. She was going to blindfold me, shove me into the maze, and whisper: “Good luck, babe.”

There’s more drama. More lies. More suspects. More questions. Answers? Apparently, those are being held hostage until further notice.

Who’s innocent? Who’s manipulating whom? Who’s hiding what? And will Vee ever get five uninterrupted minutes without her entire life combusting?

At this point: Who the fuck knows. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now, honesty time. Compared to the first two books, this one felt a little… meeeeh. The tension was there. The intrigue was there. The emotional chaos was absolutely clocked in and working overtime.

But the gut-punch? It bruised me. It didn’t break me. I wanted to feel feral. Unwell. Personally victimized. Instead, I was mostly standing in the middle of the mystery holding seventeen unanswered questions and developing trust issues with fictional people.

And then came the cliffhanger. Illegal? Yes. Disrespectful? Naturally. Did it hit as hard as the previous ones? Not quite. But will I still read Scored like my emotional stability depends on it? Obviously. I didn’t survive three books of psychological football warfare just to quit before the final whistle.

Thank you to Hambright PR for sending me this e-ARC, and congratulations to Aleatha Romig on the upcoming release of Sacked on July 27th.

This series must be read in order: Intercepted → Rushed → Sacked → Scored

Imagine just going along, minding your own business, then all of a sudden, out of nowhere comes a freight train barreling down the tracks directly towards you.
That is how it feels reading an Aleatha Romig story.
At home, Vee and Fin have created a bubble full of comfort and combustible desire.
At work, everything is chaos. Everyone is suspect.
With more bits of information coming to light, Vee is bombarded with doubts and suspicion. With a real chance at playing in the Super Bowl, Fin is ready, feeling confident in his back-up QB role and ready to take the field.
Then — freight train! Aleatha'd again. Where will she take us next?

This is the third book in this amazing series, and Vee and Fin’s journey continues.
Vee is not sure who to trust besides Fin,
This series needs to be read in order, and this story ends in another cliffhanger!
This is a well written action-packed story, with family dynamics, friendships, emotions, drama, suspense, intrigue, high stakes betrayal, loyalty, secrets, lies, touch her and die vibes, trust, romance, humour, and forbidden love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This series is intense and I’m loving it!

The relationship between Fin and Vee has quickly become solid, and I love his determination to provide her with a safe bubble to breathe. The mystery around her father and his personal affairs is crazy, and getting crazier.

This most recent cliffhanger left me gasping. Vee has been through so much this season, she stringer with Fin by her side.

First things first: this is NOT a standalone. You must read the first two books to understand what is happening. That being said, OMG! What a cliffhanger!

I love this series by Aleatha. It’s sports romance with a twist, and I’m loving every single page. It’s fast paced and electric. Each chapter has you trying to guess who in Vee’s circle is sincere and who isn’t.

I’m so thankful that the final book, Scored, comes out in September. I’m going to be on pins and needles until then!

SACKED by ALEATHA ROMIG ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sacked in the third (#3) book in the COOPERS: AN NFL DYNASTY ROMANCE series.
Note: This series must be read in order: INTERCEPTED—> RUSHED —> SACKED —> SCORED

The tension continues at the Crystal Light Stadium as the Hubbard family, owners of ‘The Coopers’, bicker over control and ownership of the team.

Vee Hubbard, now owner and NFL Quarterback Finn Graham’s relationship is progressing despite all the obstacles determined to pull them apart….

——————————————

Gahhhh this book! This series!! I literally read this one in one sitting and am salivating over the thought of the final book.

Aleatha Romig has an uncanny ability to draw you in, with fascinating characters, impeccable attention to detail and so much tension she has you sitting on the edge of your seat. This series is the first of hers I have read and I am definitely going to be looking out for more of her outstanding work.

The explicit descriptions of the on pitch game play action and coaching scenes have you so gripped you can picture every scene. Being a Brit I have zero knowledge of American Football but I truly have learnt a lot reading this series and it’s so interesting- it is clear that the author is very knowledgeable about the sport and it gives this great read an extra dimension.

The relationship between Vee and Finn is interesting, with believable chemistry it runs at a realistic pace. There is a reasonable amount of open door spicy scenes as befitting the progression of their relationship. I like Vee’s character - It is always nice to see strong, independent women portrayed especially in high powered roles.

The family dynamics are escalating deliciously. The back stabbing, secrecy and tension grow and Vee doesn’t know from one minute to the next who to trust. With false affections, deception, rampant misogyny and nefarious actions a plenty no one appears trustworthy and I LOVE IT!

I am thoroughly enjoying this series of books, it has so many twists and turns and I think Ms ROMIG is going to surprise us all in the final instalment. This book (as with previous books in this series) finishes on an intriguing cliffhanger. I’ve said it before but I think this book series would be excellent adapted for the tv.

I read an ebook copy of this fascinating book, with just over 270 pages (print copy) , a gorgeous printed, football cover and excellent editing. This book releases July 27th 2026.

With thanks to Aleatha Romig and Hambright PR for an early chance to read this book. All comments are my own honest, unbiased opinion.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5/5)

Sacked picks up exactly where Rushed left off, with Maeve’s father’s former assistant being arrested for his alleged murder. However, it quickly becomes clear that there are far too many unanswered questions, and nothing is as straightforward as it seems.

As the investigation unfolds, Maeve finds herself fighting an entirely different battle against her own family. Her stepmother and cousins are determined to contest her father’s will in hopes of taking control of the family football franchise. In their eyes, a woman has no place running the organization, making the people who should support Maeve her biggest opponents.

One of my favorite parts of this book was watching Maeve continue to prove her strength. Despite grieving her father’s death, dealing with relentless media attention, and facing constant opposition from her own relatives, she never loses sight of protecting her father’s legacy and doing what’s best for the team.

Meanwhile, Fin begins to suspect that Maeve’s father’s death may not have been an accident after all. A conversation with Maeve’s ex-boyfriend, combined with memories of Maeve’s own near-fatal car accident on the same day, leads him to believe that someone may have been targeting both of them from the very beginning.

The mystery grows even more complicated when Maeve’s father’s former assistant tries to prove her innocence and explain the evidence that led to her arrest. Every answer only raises more questions, keeping the suspense high and making it impossible to stop turning the pages.

I also loved seeing Maeve continue working toward one of her father’s biggest dreams: bringing a future Super Bowl to their city. Even while her personal life is falling apart, she never stops fighting for the organization and the legacy her father left behind.

And just when I thought we would finally get some answers, Aleatha Romig delivered another heartbreaking cliffhanger. After returning to the field following an injury, Fin suffers a devastating hit during a game and collapses. Watching Maeve desperately beg him to get up while he remained motionless completely shattered me. That final scene left me needing the next book immediately.

⭐ 4.5/5 stars. Sacked is filled with family drama, conspiracies, suspense, and shocking twists that keep the mystery alive from beginning to end. Aleatha Romig once again delivers an emotional, addictive installment that leaves you desperate for answers. I can’t wait to discover what happens next for Maeve and Fin.

Sacked by Aleatha Romig is book three in the excellent The Coopers series. This continues the romantic suspense story about Mauve “Vee” Hubbard and Griffin “FIn”Graham. She is determined to protect her family’s dynasty but is constantly fighting different battles that come her way.
Fin can’t believe his luck that their second chance relationship is doing so well but can he persuade her to take the next step. While their navigate falling back in love, we get some great football action and all the drama from behind the scenes of running a team.

The cliffhanger from Rushed sets the scene and slowly everything is gets more complicated as
Aleatha puts suspicion on everyone. What really happened to her father, was it really an accident and If not - then who is to blame for his murder? Have the police got the right person or is someone being framed. Is there a more sinister reason behind her grandfather only leaving the team to Reid and not jointly with Rachel. Vee and Rachel are the only Hubbards left now and both determined to do what’s best for the team and their family legacy.

There is a lot of conflicting information so Vee starts questioning everyone’s loyalty and begins to wonder who she can trust. More secrets are revealed which leaves Vee not knowing who to believe and trying to work out who is telling the truth. Who is having an affair with who and how long have things been going on behind her back. Who knows what and who is keeping things from her. What are their intentions and what will be the knock on effects. How involved are the members of her family and the people meant to help her.

To increase the tension and intrigue Fin is given some interesting and frightening information.
What is Vee truly up against, is she in danger now and if so from who. What will these revelations mean to The Coopers organisation, the team and Reid’s estate. What are the true details of Reid’s original will and why did he write a new one. She wants to carry on the good work her father did for the Coopers but was he the man she thought he was. Will anyone tell her about her mother and why she walked away from Reid and Vee.

The team are doing well so should make play offs and possibly the super bowl. They have injuries to contend with and the board battling over who is in control. What are Darin and Grant up to especially as they are cross Vee has learnt about the business so they can’t manipulate her anymore. Vee has the support of the players and they are happy she’s with Fin. I loved that Vee and Fin had a first date and she goes to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family went and watched his brother play in the NFL.

The questions and suspicions build over numerous different twists and turns. Who can answer her questions and the bombshells she’s been dealt. On top of all this, she is having to decide if she’s ready to totally commit to her relationship with Fin and let him move in with her. I felt their relationship got a bit lost in all revelations and we were bombarded with so many pieces of information. I did find myself trying to solve the puzzles and work out everything but would have liked a bit more about them. This instalment ends with Vee finally voicing her concerns over everything and the Coopers playing the Texans in a nail biting game. As usual we get a horrific cliffhanger ready for the series finale Scored.

“Sacked” is the third book in “The Coopers: An NFL Dynasty Romance Series.” This a second chance sports romance wrapped in betrayal, dynasty drama, and high-stakes romantic suspense set in the seductive, cutthroat world of professional football. This book will not disappoint….for the record, it does end on a cliffhanger, again….

With the death of Vee’s dad, Reid, killed in a car accident on his way to work, her world is shattered. A football dynasty built on power, money, and secrets….now these secrets are unraveling. The truth about her family threatens everything from the franchise to the locker room. On top of that, the team pushing towards the Super Bowl. This isn’t just football. It's an empire. It's a legacy. It’s war.

Fin and Vee’s relationship is going from strength to strength. After the death of her father, he has becomes her rock, her confident….he is always there. Cooking her dinner, having a glass of wine ready when she walks in from work, a shoulder to cry on and always a hug when needed. “Here’s the thing. This beautiful woman who is mine has had a lot on her plate lately. I want her and the world tom know that I’m insanely in love with her. She’s alluring and enamoring. Stubborn and at times, a smartass, incredibly intelligent as I’ve witnessed daily since making my way back to her.”

There is never a dull moment! This book is everything you expect from a sports romance with a touch of alpha male thrown in. I’m very happily hooked - I did not want it to end! Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! At times you will laugh, you will cry, get angry and frustrated - most of all, you will love the twists! This book will charm “the pants off you” and leave you going back for more. This is a lovely book that will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. You will fall more in love with Fin and Vee.

“Lowering my face, I covered Vee’s lips with mine. Fever burned through me as she melted against my chest. One hand moved to her neck as the other held tight to her ass. The sweet taste of wine and cranberries came to me as our tongues wrestled. It was as if I needed to hold her tight, to know she was safe.”

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story, with all the ups, the downs, the friendship, the heartaches and most of all, what love can overcome. From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊

4.25stars-SACKED is the third instalment in Aleatha Romig’s contemporary, adult The Coppers :An NFL Dynasty erotic, football, romantics suspense series focusing on the Cooper Dynasty . This is the continuing saga of thirty-four year old, vice president of stadium operations and The Coopers new team owner Maeve ‘Vee’ Cooper, and thirty six year old quarterback for the Lexington Coopers Griffin ‘Fin’ Graham’s story line. SACKED should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book two RUSHED.

SOME BACKGROUND: Weeks earlier, the owner and patriarch of the Cooper Dynasty died under mysterious circumstances leaving his daughter Maeve ‘Vee’ Cooper in charge but questions surrounding his death and a fight for control, find the entire Cooper Dynasty at odds, pointing fingers at everyone involved. An arrest has been made but all is not as it appears to be

Told from dual first person perspectives (Fin and Vee) SACKED picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book two RUSHED. The local police has made an arrest but as Maeve begins to deep dive into the family, vengeance and greed become an all too familiar part of their every day life. Someone wants Maeve pulled from the top, as others send a warning of what is to come.

The world building focuses on the search for the truth. There are many relatives laying claim to the Cooper billions, while the investigation into the patriarch’s death has yet to come to any conclusion.

The relationship between Fin and Vee is one of second chances. Fin has been on off due to injuries but a rumor begins to surface about his future, and that of his relationship with our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful, questionable and determined secondary and supporting characters including the numerous members of the extended Cooper Dynasty; team management, ownership, the legal teams, head office and the unknowns currently crawling out of the woodwork.

SACKED is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, greed and jealousy, deteriorating family values, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, edgy and gritty; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are desperate, dynamic and energetic. SACKED ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Sacked is the third book in Aleatha Romig’s NFL Dynasty Romance series, and this time she really dives into the details. The story is full of twists that will make you wonder, Did she really do that? Here’s what we know so far: Reid Hubbard died in a car accident. His assistant, Bre Stanton, was arrested for his murder. Bre had bought Benadryl for Reid’s allergies, and he was also taking prescription sleeping pills and had high blood pressure. Vee finds proof in her father’s office that he and Bre were having an affair, and she says she is pregnant with his child. But Daphne Hubbard, Reid’s second wife, says that before they got married, Reid had a vasectomy and couldn’t have more children.

At the same time, there are big decisions to make about the future of the Coopers, the CEO role, and who will own the team. Reid was planning to change his will but never signed the new version, according to his lawyer and friend, Joe Eads. Vee surprises everyone, even her uncle Darin, by choosing her aunt Rachel to be the acting CEO.

Vee’s ex, Preston Clark, who comes from a famous Kentucky horse racing family, has his own ideas about who owned the Coopers. His family has looked into where Vee’s wealth comes from. Carroll Hubbard owned several McDonald's restaurants worth over 10 million dollars, but there are questions about where the rest of the money came from and how he managed to buy the team. Blaine Marsh, Darin’s father and a well-known financier, says he and Carroll had a gentlemen’s agreement that half the team would belong to the Marsh family. That’s why Carroll didn’t leave the team to his daughter, Rachel. All these rumors and theories make Vee’s life even more complicated. On top of that, Daphne Hubbard’s actions have always been questionable. She was first with Grant Marsh, then with Joe Eads, and now she wants to challenge Reid’s will.

In Sacked, Aleatha Romig weaves together secrets, betrayals, and changing loyalties, keeping readers guessing until the end. With open questions, family drama, and surprises, this third book shows that the NFL Dynasty Romance series is only getting more exciting. Whether you love suspense, romance, or high-stakes drama, Sacked delivers and will leave you wanting more.

“Gripping...Intelligent...Emotionally Charged” .
I can picture Aleatha standing behind the couldron with the shit-stirring big spoon, laughing maniacally as she cooks this twisted Family saga rivaling the Dynasty Level Drama.
All the Seven Deadly Sins are thrown in the boiling pot set against NFL background. Grabby hands are waiting to tear way at the Inheritance, wills and Unsigned wills.
Plot thickens in the story and HOW!! Reid Hubbard left behind chaos, plain and simple. And Vee is in the midst of all the politics & Family drama, trying to keep peace between fueds, jealous wife, while keeping a love lorn side-chick from jail.
Meanwhile the notorious and clandestine funding of McDonald's has a paper trail leading to...........nothing!!! The hows, whys, wherefroms are in the dark.
Maybe, potentially a sibling on the horizon. The pesky ex of a roach who refuses to die or vanish.
There are Gentleman's Agreements between parties that aren't gentlemanly or puritans.
In short whichever way Vee turns there's deception, falsehoods, conspiracies.
Of course while battling them all, she also has to win the super bowl. Not her literally, but Graham Fin has to, as he has asked her a question. But before she can answer, he's ........ “S.A.C.K.E.D.”
Well knock me down with a Feather and call me HUBBARD!!
Aleatha has Aleatha'd so hard with this one, I can see stars behind my Aleatha'd eyes.
“5 stars but She.Better.NOT!!”

This story picks up right where the last book ended, and from the first page it pulls you right back into Vee’s world. There’s tension, secrets, and a lot of pressure on her shoulders. Bre’s arrest, the pregnancy reveal, and all the legal mess around it set the tone for a book full of suspicion and shifting loyalties. Vee has to stand firm as the owner of the Coopers, and I loved seeing her take control in that board meeting and choose her Aunt Rachel as temporary CEO. You can feel how much she’s learning every day, even when her uncle and cousin push back.

There’s also the strange story Prescott tells Fin about the Marsh‑Hubbard family, and Fin trying to protect Vee while he figures out what’s true. The whole book has this steady thrum of mystery, with everyone acting in ways that make you question their motives. Daphne contesting the will, Grant and Uncle Darin acting shady, Bre calling nonstop, and the old secrets about Vee’s mother coming to light… it all builds into a really gripping read.

The football side of the story is amazing. The author clearly knows the game, and the details about QB rotations, injuries, and planning for the long season make you feel like you’re inside the organization. Fin’s role grows, and you can feel both his excitement and his worries. Vee is proud of him, but she also fears every time he steps on the field. Their relationship is beautiful here—closer, stronger, and full of love. Her apartment truly feels like home for both of them.

There are so many moving parts: the team’s hopes for the Super Bowl, the possibility of hosting a future one, the mystery around Reid’s death, Daphne’s strange behavior, and the bombshell plot twist near the end. Every chapter adds another layer, and it’s impossible to stop reading. And of course, it ends in another cliffhanger that leaves your heart in your throat.

My thoughts: this book is more suspenseful, more emotional, and completely riveting. There are secrets everywhere, danger creeping in from different directions, and Vee trying her best to lead the Coopers while building a life with Fin. It’s fast‑paced, full of twists, and the next installment is sure to be explosive.

Book Tropes: Second Chance Romance, Football Dynasty, Family Secrets, Forced Proximity, The One That Got Away, Cliffhanger

SACKED is Book 3 in The Coopers series, ends on a cliffhanger, and must be read in order: INTERCEPTED → RUSHED → SACKED → SCORED

We left Vee in Rushed at her Father's remembrance ceremony at the Cooper's Stadium. Her family is very involved with the Cooper's football team. Its been about six weeks since her father's passing. The reading of the will is coming up. Supposedly her father was changing the will but hadn't signed it yet. Vee isn't sure what is coming that she needs to be worried about. She is worried about her holdings with the Coopers football team.

Fin has been on the injured list from getting the hit on his ribs. He has been resting and healing from that injury. Vee's ex boyfriend, Preston, has been texting / meeting with Fin about some family drama he knows that Vee needs to know about, but Vee hasn't been calling / texting him on her phone so, he doesn't know how to get the information to Vee except through Fin. But does Fin agree with what Preston is telling him / Vee about the family? Is it credible?

Vee has all the family drama hitting her at once it seems like. Her dad has only been gone 6 weeks. It seems like she is loosing it, can she lose control this fast? Is everyone in the family against Vee? She can't decide. Her dad's widow - Daphne, is contesting the will. What will happen if Daphne is given half of her dad's estate? Will that involve the Coopers football team? Or will the football team be separated? Is something going on with her cousins and Daphne? They always seem to be in a corner talking to one another. What is going on? Vee can't image what her father ever saw in Daphne, but to think her cousin might be involved with her now too?

Lots of twists and turns and conspiracy going on with the Coopers and Vee's family.

I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book from the author Aleatha Romig. I am freely leaving a honest book review.

I cancelled my plans today because I couldn't stop reading Sacked. Now I'll probably have to cancel my plans for tomorrow just to catch up on everything I was supposed to do today! Do I have any regrets? Absolutely none.

I have been desperate to discover what happens next for Vee and Fin, and now I know one thing for certain: I must not make any plans for the release of Scored because they'll probably get cancelled too!

Reading this series feels like being spoiled with two incredible stories in one. There's the second-chance romance between Vee and Fin, and there's also Vee's relationship with the Lexington Coopers. I am 100% invested in both storylines. The series simply wouldn't be the same without either of them. They each bring something unique to the story while complementing each other perfectly.

What makes this series so addictive? Vee, Fin, and the supporting cast are certainly a huge part of it. Aleatha Romig's portrayal of football, both on and off the field, has been fascinating and entertaining. I knew very little about the sport before starting this series, yet the author shares details in such a knowledgeable and accessible way that I've learned so much along the journey.

However, it's the drama, suspense, twists, turns, and secrets woven throughout these books that have kept me completely glued to my Kindle. I genuinely have no idea where Ms. Romig is going to take this story next, but I am fully on board and eagerly awaiting the conclusion.

I absolutely love the anticipation and suspense that a great cliffhanger creates, and Aleatha Romig delivers them brilliantly. This series must be read in release order:

Intercepted → Rushed → Sacked → Scored

The first three books are among my top reads of 2026, and I can't imagine Scored being any different.

5 stars

Sacked, the third book in Aleatha Romig's NFL Dynasty Romance Series, is a totally riveting read that will have you audibly gasping when you turn the last page! This may be my favorite book in the series thus far. Okay, I know I probably say that with each book, but seriously, this third book just blew me away! Things are happening that are very suspect, questionable and almost sinister at times in this continuation of an already twisted story.

Poor Vee. I honestly can't believe what she's dealing with since the death of her Father. The rest of her family, including her Stepmother, Daphne, are all questionable if you ask me. Sure, up to this point some of her cousins seem to have nothing but protective and loving feelings toward her. However, after reading this book, I'm truly beginning to wonder about them too! Are they smiling and supporting her to her face while working against her behind her back? By the time I finished this book, I wasn't sure who was truly on her side. Of course, Fin's got her back, or does he? There's so much happening in this book I started wondering.

This is one twisted story! The suspense is intense. The emotions are so strong they're palpable and flowing off the pages. Vee and Fin together are a fabul0us pair. I love their communication and interactions. Whenever they hook up, the pages sizzle! Their story is one wild ride, and I can't recommend it highly enough. And yes, I did audibly gasp when I turned that last page! Not only is it another jaw-dropping cliffhanger, but that title of "Sacked" is exactly how I felt when I read the last word! I cannot wait for the final book, "Scored." There's no telling what wickedly delicious outcome this talented author has planned for us! Do not miss it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.25 stars, teetering on 4.5)

Sacked is officially my favorite book in The Cooper Series so far. I sat down intending to read a few chapters and ended up devouring the entire book in one sitting.

This second chance football romance follows a professional football team’s owner and the quarterback from her past when he’s unexpectedly traded to her team fifteen years later. But don’t go in expecting just a sports romance. Aleatha Romig masterfully blends romantic suspense, family secrets, shocking twists, and just the right amount of spice.

One thing I really appreciate about this series is how integral football is to the story. The game itself, team operations, and the business side of professional football all play a significant role in the plot. As someone who loves football, I found those details added another layer of authenticity and made the story even more immersive. If you’re not familiar with the sport, just know that football is a central part of the story rather than simply the backdrop.

The twists in this book completely kept me on my toes. Every time I thought I had something figured out, Aleatha pulled the rug out from under me. I genuinely had no idea where the story was headed, and after that ending… I still don’t.

Speaking of that ending… it should be illegal to leave readers on a cliffhanger like that! I need book four immediately because I have far too many questions and not nearly enough answers.

Thank you to Aleatha Romig and the team for the opportunity to read this ARC. If you enjoy second chance romance, romantic suspense, high-stakes football, and stories that keep you guessing until the very last page, this series is absolutely worth picking up.

Title: Sacked Series: The Coopers, Book 3
Author: Aleatha Romig
Main Characters: Fin and Vee P. 336
Book Type Reviewed: E-Book Release Date: 07/27/2026
Tropes: Romance, Football, Second Chance, The One That Got Away, Family Secrets, Football Dynasty
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Where book 1, Intercepted, set the tone and gave all the details about The Coopers and the Hubbard family. Rushed and Sacked are off and running with all the drama, issues, and secrets surrounding them all. And it just doesn’t stop.

Maeve aka Vee was born into football. Her whole life revolves around it. Growing up, Vee often feared people would only want to know her or hang out with her because of who her family is. By college, Vee met Fin, one of the football players. They started dating but when college ended, Fin went one way and Vee another. Both hurt, but both moved on.

Fin has played for years as pro QB and now his career is starting to dwindle down, being older now. But he’s not out yet. Vee, like most of her family, all work for The Coopers team. As she tries to learn everything, she starts to see some patterns in this male dominate job, and not everyone loves her female opinion. Then she’s blindsided when The Coopers hire a new QB. Fin! But that’s just the start.

To not spoil anything, the story progresses as the season goes on and when I say drama, there is drama! In the best way! This story is captivating, intriguing, so entertaining, and so much fun to read! I flew through it. With only one more book, Scored, I need revenge and that next book like yesterday. Now we wait…

Thank you to #HambrightPR for this book. All reviews and opinions are my own.

3 Spice🌶️

The saga continues with Vee and Fin's story in Sacked, the third installment in The Coopers series.

We've been left hanging from the second book's cliffhanger, but it was worth the wait, as Sacked has shed some more light on Vee's family background.

I seriously want to hug Vee for what's going on with her life. Trust is so precious to her that she struggles to share it with anyone (even with her own family) other than Fin. Despite her plate being full, Fin constantly reminds her of her beauty, intelligence, and strength, which inspire him and the rest of the Lexington Coopers Team. Their bond has been developing beautifully throughout the series, and Vee has started to board the commitment boat with Fin.
The doubts she has about her family, the high-stakes betrayals, the manipulation, and the shocking revelations bring out the full intensity of the plot.

Sacked is a heady, puzzling, and emotionally gripping story about love, family dynamics, power, legacy, and survival.
Aleatha has been doing a wonderful job with this series, notably with the sharp dialogues, thought-provoking plot, and complex characters. If you fancy some family drama and a narrative willing to delve into the moral corruption that accompanies extreme wealth, this one is for you.

This book ends on another cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the concluding book soon.

Receiving a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was an honour, and I'm presenting my candid opinion based on my own experience. I am eternally grateful to Aleatha Romig and Hambright PR for entrusting me with the opportunity to read this book.
