Second book in this series was another solid read.
The main mystery plot was quite intricate with lots of red herrings and, even though I had my suspicions, I never really had any idea of who was the killer and why.
The first book in this series involved domestic violence and this one featured another disturbing plot line of abuse of disabled persons. I tried to block the idea from my mind. (Yes, yes, I know, but I would like to live in a bubble some days.)
The only thing I wasn't fussed on was the new revelation of the lead detective's past. I thought it was a little cliched. It wouldn't be enough to stop me reading a third book when Lee releases it.

The second novel featuring Detective Bonnie Cooper was another gripping and suspenseful read that kept me hooked from start to finish.
One of the best parts of this book was the intense level of suspense. The story unfolded through multiple layers as Bonnie investigates the disappearance of two campers, and I really enjoyed how the narrative slowly revealed different perspectives and possibilities. It kept me guessing and trying to piece everything together alongside her.
I also loved getting a deeper look into Bonnie’s character. This instalment did a great job exploring her background, adding more depth to who she was as a detective and as a person. It made her feel more real and relatable, and I found myself even more invested in her journey.
The various storylines interwoven throughout the investigation were engaging and well-paced, creating a sense of urgency and tension that carried throughout the book. As for the ending . . . wow! The cliffhanger left me desperate to know what happens next! I’m really hoping the author continues the series soon because I’m definitely not ready to leave Bonnie Cooper’s story unfinished. A great read.

The second instalment of the Detective Bonnie Hunter series, this story is told from the perspectives of the detective, and a teenage girl, Mack. A simple camping trip leads to a woman dead and a man missing and we weave through twists and turns to try to uncover the truth. I am enjoying the Bonnie Hunter books and feel like there's more to come in this series, particularly after the final chapter.

While the body of one of the campers is soon discovered, the other one remains missing. And as the pair were married, but not to each other, two families have their lives upended.
One of those interviewed by Bonnie is Mack, a teenager, who seems to be holding something back.
There is plenty of suspense and gradually the various stories unfold. Bonnie has some demons of her own to contend with, as does Mack. And neither of the campers have had straightforward lives. But who killed who, and why?
I’ve been a fan of Ms Lee’s novels since I first encountered the Cooper and Quinn Series back in 2016.

Another fantastic outing for an author I hope more people learn about. This is only my second of Catherine's books, but it most definitely will not be my last.
As I started reading I just felt comfortable. I'm thinking I know these characters, I love reading these characters, and this is going to be good. Catherine's writing is very good - it's sharp and gets to the point.
Detective Bonnie Hunter is complex, yet so easy to like. Her boss Charlie Cooper (who has his own series) is a good cop. He is tough but fair. The supporting cast is so relatable and they just make a great team.
Set on the south coast of NSW this story has it all. A murder, of course, a missing person, family drama, embezzlement and many people with a reason to kill.
If you love your Aussie crime with great policing, realistic storylines and characters then you must check out Catherine's books.

I enjoyed reading this. I like the intermingling of the characters-the teenage girl who helps solve a crime unintentionally and the friendship of the lead detective with her Department.
Clever plot. A few lose ends but entertaining. Ends in an unusual way with another story to tell. I wonder if there is a follow up with Book 3. Let me know if you read my review, thank you!

Another great book in this series (I'm still finishing the first series but you can read this one separately). We learn a bit more about Bonnie's background in this second book. I'm hoping with the ending that there will be more to come. The narration was great (same narrator as the first book)

A solid police procedural that kept me guessing - I was wrong every time! Which I really love when I am. Eve Seymour is the perfect choice of narrator with her clear voice and sounds like she could be Bonnie. With that cliffhanger ending, I really need book three please.

Thoroughly enjoying this series from Lee.
Detective Bonnie Hunter has grown on me. Book One was good, but this one was outstanding. I just wish there were more books to read from this author.

I’m really enjoying the detective Bonnie series. The second book was as good as the first with lots of twists.

Bonnie Hunter 2 was even better than No 1 A great read with many twists and turns. Thoroughly enjoyed it. So good to find an Aussie writer with stories set in Australia.
