In The Coopers, family power meets forbidden passion, and one wrong move can cost you the team… or your heart. Perfect for fans of the ruthless tension of Succession and the dark, aching obsession of Wuthering Heights. At thirty-six, Fin Graham is a legend, a veteran quarterback, dangerously handsome, and built to win. The field. The season. Me. I never thought I’d see him again, not after he disappeared and shattered me without a word. But now he’s been traded onto my family’s team, the Lexington Coopers—my turf, my legacy, and the one place I swore he’d never touch. No one knows our past. No one knows how hard I loved him… or how deep the betrayal cut. And if I have any sway with the team’s owner—my father—Fin’s contract will be the shortest in franchise history. But the problem with old heartbreaks? They remember how to start beating again. Fin wants a second chance. I want revenge… or maybe I just want him. And the time clock is almost out. With the future of the Lexington Coopers on the line, we have to decide if we’re working together or against one another.

Thank you to Alethea Romig and Hambright PR for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.Intercepted is out now!
****MAJOR Disclaimer: I received the eARC through Hambright PR a few weeks ago, but I have voluntarily withdrawn myself from the program since then due to the events that have unfolded last week. As a daughter of immigrants, who are now US citizens, who escaped from a country in hopes of a better life for themselves and their children, and as a first-generation Asian American, I find it abhorrent that Hambright would hire someone to their company with such negative, harmful views. The events that transpired last weekend have not affected my review of Intercepted, and my thoughts on the book are based solely on the book and the plot, character development, etc. alone.**** ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ As some of you know, I'm a HUGE (American) football fan. You'll find me on the couch on Sunday afternoons, Monday evenings, and Thursday evenings between September and January, watching NFL games, keeping track of all of the drama around the league, and liking my favorite NFL memes that come after games, poking fun at different botched plays and losing teams throughout the league that day. Intercepted was basically my dream of a sports romance book revolving around football and the NFL, and I enjoyed reading this a lot!
Vee Cooper is the daughter of the CEO and owner of the Lexington Coopers, and she's trying to take on a larger role in the front office and management of her father's team. One day, she hopes to take over the team when her father retires, but she has to first get hands-on experience with the team and how they operate. When her former flame, veteran NFL quarterback Griffin Graham, gets signed by the Coopers to be their backup quarterback, she has to toe the line between professionalism and letting her feelings get in the way, especially after the way she and Griffin had a falling out over a decade ago in college.
If you're an NFL fan, you're going to want to read this! We get a lot of references to other NFL teams across the league—the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, and Miami Dolphins all make brief cameos/references, although there are a few other teams in there that I can't remember off the top of my head right now—and we get a look behind the scenes at board meetings and what goes on in the front office of an NFL team and what goes into their decision making process.
Additionally, Vee spends a lot of time learning the ins and outs of the team, including the entire offensive playbook, so we get a lot of football jargon and football plays thrown around the story as well. From my experience, you don't really get a lot of sports romance books that go in depth about practices, games, strategy, and playmaking because the romance takes center stage, but the fact that this was a true sports romance where the sport itself dominated the book was so refreshing to read about.
With that said, however, I also felt that was the book's biggest weakness. Yes, getting to see Vee learn the playbook, wear a headset on the sidelines during the game, seeing the plays in action, learning the ins and outs of the sport, and what goes on in managing a professional football team was a LOT of fun. As a football fan, I understood everything perfectly, and I had fun reading about all of it, but it also took up so much of the story that the romance between her and Fin was almost nonexistent. While I was rooting for Vee the entire time to succeed in an environment where people constantly made it clear they didn't think she had what it takes to run a football franchise in the future, that meant sacrificing her and Fin's relationship and the development of their relationship for the sake of having the sports take center stage in a sports romance.
To me, they were supposed to have this second-chance kind of romance, and I felt like there was no yearning or unrequited feelings between them the entire story that you usually see in other second-chance romances. There was no balance between the "sports" part and the "romance" part of a sports romance. I could see a lot of casual NFL fans, or people who aren't even NFL fans at all, but wanting to give this book a chance, finding it boring since a lot of it is football lingo and plays getting thrown around like it's nothing at all. The writing and the way these football terms are thrown around make it sound like it's supposed to be common sports language and terms every football fan knows, when in reality, most casual fans of football won't even know what an RPO is. (It's run pass option, in case anyone was actually curious.)
I wish we got to see more flashbacks of Vee and Fin's past in college. We got maybe like, three flashbacks total, and I feel like it wasn't enough for me to feel like they had a lot of history together. I am going to give it the benefit of the doubt, though, because this is only the first book in a series, and we may get to see more of their past as the series progresses, but I didn't feel any chemistry between the two throughout the story.
Last, but not least...that cliffhanger? Yeah, I'm going to need the second book immediately. If you're looking for a fast read to prepare for the Super Bowl coming up on Sunday, pick up Intercepted! I had a lot of fun reading this, and I did laugh a little seeing my favorite NFL team making a few cameos and references throughout the story. ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ ★🏈₊⊹ ᰔ °⋆ Trigger/content warnings:alcohol consumption, sexual content (1.25/5, although this is my personal rating of the spice and this may vary depending on people's comfort level with reading spice in books), car accident (off-page)
Aleatha Romig just became an auto-read author for me.
Intercepted, the first installment in The Coopers series, is raw, emotional, and quietly devastating in the best way; the kind of story that burrows under your skin and refuses to leave. I went in for a football romance. I came out emotionally compromised and desperately counting the days until book two.
Maeve (aka Vee) is the heiress to an NFL dynasty: brilliant, determined, and fighting to be taken seriously in a world that was not built for her. Fin is the legendary quarterback with a complicated past, a quiet intensity, and fourteen years’ worth of unresolved feelings. Their history is heavy. Their present is volatile. And their chemistry? Painfully restrained and electric.
This is very much a “the one that got away… and never really left” kind of love story.
What I loved most is the emotional depth. This isn’t just about attraction; it’s about betrayal, unfinished business, old wounds that never healed properly, and the terrifying hope that maybe… just maybe… something broken can still be rebuilt. There’s remorse here. Longing. Anger. Vulnerability. And a constant undercurrent of wanting what you’re not sure you’re allowed to have anymore.
Add to that: • a powerful, competent FMC navigating a male-dominated industry • NFL politics and family legacy drama • enemies-to-lovers tension done right • an agonizingly delicious slow burn (seriously… 2.25 🌶️ but it feels illegal)
And then there’s the ending. I will not spoil anything, but I will say this: Aleatha Romig chose violence.
That cliffhanger should come with a warning label and emotional support hotline.
Beautifully written, emotionally charged, and impossible to put down. I’m fully invested in Maeve and Fin and absolutely not okay after that final chapter.
Huge thanks to Hambright PR for the e-ARC, and congratulations to Aleatha Romig on the February 2nd release. This series is going to ruin people, in the best way.
Now excuse me while I stare dramatically into the distance and wait for the next book like it’s the fourth quarter and everything is on the line.
Intercepted is a great start to this newest series from Aleatha.
This is a second-chance, sports romance and I am here for this.
First off, I can tell that Aleatha took time to learn not only about the game of football, but owning a team and running it. I absolutely loved all the nuisances added in about the actual sport and the ins and outs of how everything is done from top to bottom.
Second, this story has alot of depth to it with these characters and their story. This particular book is about Maeve (Vee) and Fin but we get to meet all of Maeve's family (not just immediate either) and how everyone is connected.
Third, the pacing of this story is perfection. I love that it's not only told from both Vee and Fin's POVs but it also jumps back to the past, so we can how well these two connected in the past, where things went off-rails, to the present and where they go from here.
Aleatha delivers a very emotionally-charged story with strong characters that you will love. The secondary characters play a pivotal role in the overall plot and but they do not overwhelm things.
I love how everything just blends so well - from the sports aspect, the family dynamics, to the romance - it all just flows perfectly and keeps you engaged in the story the entire time.
As for the ending - I was not expecting that at all. In true Aleatha fashion, she leaves me speechless and wanting the next book NOW!
In a fantastic second chance romance, the daughter and only child of the owner and CEO of the NFL team, The Lexington Coopers, Vee is pouring all her time into learning the ins and outs of the football side of the team. She’s got the business side down but her dad wants her to know the team and football dynamics as well. She spends her nights studying the playbook and her days at practice or on the sideline at the games, cheering on her team and building rapport with the players. In comes Griffin “Fin” Graham, veteran Quarterback and the boyfriend that broke her heart back in college. It’s been 14 years since they last spoke or saw each other and while he’s made it clear he wants her back, she’s not quick to forgive.
One great aspect of this book was that there was a lot of football action. Most sports books just kind of mention that they go to practice or are traveling for games but Aleatha explains so much of the game and you could really picture being out on the field with the team. Another great component of this book is that, while most romances end with a HEA and move onto the next couple, this one ended on a crazy cliffhanger that not only did I not see coming but also brought tears to my eyes!! Finally, the tension between these two main characters was so thick you could cut it with a knife and I was glued to my kindle praying they got back together. Do they?? You’ll have to read to find out! I definitely recommend this book and am already fiending for the next book in the Coopers saga!
What a fantastic start to this new series! With strong leads and an impressive wider cast of characters who are an excellent combination of friends and potential foe! With an NFL setting, Intercepted takes us behind the scenes of its complex world supporting the games, the players and the vast staff needed to keep everything going. And it's fascinating. I hadn't appreciated all it would take to play the game, which I still don't understand at all. The story itself has Vee and Fin at its heart as they work their way back into each other's lives after a gap of 14 years, a reunion wreathed in past hurt and misunderstandings. I loved every minute...and, as promised, one humdinger of a cliffhanger!! 💖💖💖💖💖
This book was an emotional rollercoaster…and THAT ENDING?! 😳 I truly did not see it coming. Interception dives deep into the world of football, and I honestly learned so much along the way.
The FMC is the heiress to the NFL organization her father runs—successful, driven, and navigating life (and leadership) in a man’s world. She lives and breathes the game…until she’s blindsided when the team hires a new quarterback who just happens to be her college ex-boyfriend 👀
Second-chance romance ✔️ Lots of football knowledge ✔️ High emotions + spice ✔️
I felt like I was sitting in my living room on a Sunday, watching a game play out in real time. The football elements were so immersive, and the romance brought all the tension.
I really enjoyed this one and cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 after that cliffhanger 😩🔥
I received this book for free from Wildfire Marketing PR in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Aleatha Romig writes a lot of darker romances, and one of her first ones did get me sucked into reading her books, even though I normally prefer lighter stories. Which she does have a few. I thought this sports romance would be a good place to start reading her again. Even with it having a cliffhanger, so I will have to read on!
The story is about a woman who comes from a football team dynasty. Not players, but team owners. Her father is the owner and he is grooming her to take over. Although it seems he may have had a bit of a change of heart and wants to split the team ownership a little bit with her cousins/uncle/aunt. Still giving her the majority ownership. However he wants her to step out of her current position and learn more about how the actual team works, the play calling, etc. So she starts by studying the plays, going and being on the sidelines with the team, and more.
At the same time, it seems the team has decided to take on a new backup quarterback, one close to retirement age, and also one that Maeve, or Vee as she goes by, has history with. They dated in college, and when he transferred for his football career, he just all of a sudden stopped communicating with her. We get most of the story from Vee's side, but we do occasionally get chapters from Fin's side. What we learn from this is that he has come to the Coopers because of her. Because yes, he is close to retirement, but he's looking to maybe right a wrong from their past, when he left her behind.
While the two of them are able to kind of move on at first, become friendly, Vee doesn't want to go back. She was hurt, and won't let him do it again. Of course as you'd expect they do get closer and decide to talk about what happened. Only the talk doesn't go the way Fin hopes, and they end up breaking apart again. That isn't what our cliffhanger is about though, as it seems maybe they can make their way past the hurt. Instead, something unexpected comes up, and it is this event that will shape book 2. I have thoughts/feelings about what may be coming next based on this final event in the book, and I look forward to seeing how the author moves us on. I kind of hope it won't be what I think is coming, but we shall see.
This was a great story, and I definitely enjoyed some of the info I learned that I assume is probably mostly realistic about how game days and practice, etc. for a professional football team works. I will say that I did skim over some bits about the stats/plays/game stuff that got to be a little bit too much for me in wanting to just get to the story though. But in the end I really enjoyed this and am eager to read the. next chapter in this story. This review was originally posted on Lisa Loves Literature
My first read for 2026 and it was FABULOUS!! Intercepted (The Coopers) by Aleatha Romig is the first in a new Series from this incredibly talented author. I found this story not only captivating, but totally engaging and effortless to read. I love stretching out these kind of reads over several days, but this was easily a story that could have been read in one sitting. The action moved right along from the first page to the last.
This is a story that involves a professional football team, but you really do not need to know anything about football. You'll find out what you need to know. I don't know a lot about football, and I found my interest kept me turning the pages throughout my read. The story is really all about the owners, players, team employees, and all the interactions between them. That to me was much more interesting than the on-field calls and plays. There's clearly undercutting, backstabbing, double-dealing and bitter feelings happening all around...no question but what that got my attention from the beginning!
The main characters, Vee and Fin, are college sweethearts who parted ways 14 years ago under bad circumstances, so each has got a chip on their shoulder. Now they're reunited and it's not feeling so good, or is it? Well, we're going to find out!! The tension is palpable, the emotions are flowing from the get-go and the action is heating up, both on the field and off! With a cliffhanger ending that will make you gasp, this first book in the Series leaves you wanting more, more, more! I, for one, am loving it and can't wait to get my hands on Rushed, Book 2 in this fabulous new series! Be sure you grab Intercepted and add this entire Series to your TBR for 2026!! You do not want to miss it!
Deception. Heartbreak. Second-chance. Sports. Strong FMC and tortured, gorgeous MMC. What more could a romance reader junkie ask for?
Vee and Fin have such amazing chemistry even when Vee tries to cover her hurt with denial of their past. She is guarded (even in the flashbacks of her past that are slowly revealed throughout this book) and, as her friend states, a commitment-phobe woman (when you read about her history, you will understand why). And Fin. Man! He has such a cocky, tough exterior that he shows the world because deep within, he is a tortured man that you just can't help falling for. But he has eyes for only one woman: Vee. And, of course, being a fabulous NFL player doesn't hurt him much. *wink wink*
Now, aside from the back-and-forth, second chance slowly unfolding romance story, you have side/supporting characters that you will love and a few you will hate, and some you will question the motives of. And in true Aleatha Romig fashion, we are left with the holy freaking, are you kidding me, oh-no-she-didn't cliffhanger that will leave you craving the next part like yesterday! You HAVE to one-click this one so I am not the only one left biting their nails.
Second time reading Aleatha Romig and it’s another win for me. I honestly couldn’t put this down and ended up finishing it in one sitting. What I thought would be a simple football romance turned into something way more emotional and consuming.
This is the first book in The Coopers series and the story has a lot of substance. I really enjoyed how detailed the football world was — the way the league, the teams, and the business side are shown feels realistic and well thought out. The pacing flows smoothly, with dual POVs and flashes to the past that help explain the deep connection between Vee and Fin.
Vee is strong, intelligent, and constantly fighting to be taken seriously as the heir to an NFL dynasty. Fin is a seasoned quarterback with a complicated past. Their history is heavy, their chemistry is intense but restrained, and their relationship is filled with unresolved emotions and second chance tension. Emotional, engaging, and impossible to ignore. I need the next book immediately.
Thank you to Wildfire Marketing Solutions & Aleatha Romig for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a second chance romance for the ages I typically do not like them as I find it boring but the more I read the more I really enjoyed this book. Meeting in college and then falling out Fin is back in Vees Life and they are both grown now fin a football star and Vee Working for her families NFL team she had a say on his future with coopers. All while stepping up more in ownership and dealing with Preston who really isn’t her type from the vibe I’m getting. When she finally kicked him to the curb I was excited because what happened next all started with a drink and a would be dinner. And just when everything is good again it really wasn’t, I definitely did not like the ending of this book. So I guess it’s on the next to see how it continues freaking clif hangers.
This is the first in a new series, and this is Fin and Vee’s story. These two were college sweethearts, until Fin left without a word, breaking Vee’s heart in the process. Now 14-years later, Fin in a legend star quarterback NFL player, and he is traded to the team Vee’s family own. Fin is determined to convince Vee for a second chance, but she has reservations, and their past relationship was a secret. This is a well written story, with family, friendships, emotions, drama, tension, heartbreak, misunderstandings, enemies / lovers, workplace romance, second chances, determination, engaging and realistic characters, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
💰 Billionaire/Millionaire Romance 🏈 Football Romance 🔥 Locker Room Heat ⚔️ Enemies to Lovers ❤️🔥 Slow Burn 🔁 Second Chance Romance
Under 300 pages, but part of a 4 book series following the same couple- I was HOOKED! Tension, football, drama, secrets- it was such an addicting sports romance- not to mention the second chance- I always love that!
It does end on a cliff hanger - but book 2 comes out very soon!
Highly recommend for any romance or sports romance lovers!
This is the first book of the 'The Coopers' series which gives you an in depth look at all things American football.
Maeve 'Vee' Hubbard is vice president of stadium operations and marketing for the Lexington Coopers NFL football team and daughter of the owner. When she hears that her ex is being signed as a second string quarterback, she's not happy.
"“Darin and your dad are discussing a quarterback. He’s a veteran, been in the league for years. Royce signed him to a one- year contract. He’s going to play today’s game.” She shrugged. “You know how it works. If they decide that he’s not worth the money, he’ll be off the roster and on the practice team before the preseason ends.”"
Griffin 'Fin' Graham, said quarterback, is in the final stage of his career and is also looking for a second chance with Vee, but she already has a boyfriend, Preston.
"“Preston is fun to be around, charismatic, and dependable.” Fin’s smile quirked. “Sounds like a collie. Does he like it when you collar him?”"
For someone who knows next to nothing about American football, Aleatha describes it in such a way that I was just as excited by each play as a true fan would be.
This story has it all, family dynamics, jealousy, intrigue, lies, mysogeny, sabotage and a cliffhanger I didn't see coming. I can't wait to see how this series pans out, but I know it will be really good. Aleatha has a way with characters and banter and always has a fantastic story fleshing it all out.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and am leaving a completely honest review.
Intercepted is the first book in The Coopers series, following Maeve (Vee) Hubbard and Griffin (Fin) Graham. I started reading for a sports romance but what I got was so much more ✨
Not only is this a “the one that got away” kinda story, it’s built around such strong characters that I was honestly unable to stop reading it. Vee is such an amazing FMC. She’s determined to prove her point and wants to be taken seriously in the world of NFL. And Fin ❤️🔥 he’s the quarterback with a complicated past but his worst problem is the fourteen years worth of unresolved feelings 😅
I was honestly shocked at the emotional depth in this story, as well as the deep dive into the world of NFL. I feel like I’m a bit of a pro at this point 🏈 I loved that we got those explanations. That this was actually a sports romance and not just romance with a sprinkling of long sports terms that I don’t actually know the meaning of.
And no spoilers, but the cliffhanger…wow, I was not expecting that. But I can’t wait for the second book in this series, I already need more 🧡
A huge thank you to Hambright PR for the e-Arc, and to Aleatha Romig for this incredible book. It releases on February 2nd and I could not recommend it enough!
I didn’t expect this one to stick with me the way it did, but Finn and Maeve (Vee) pulled me in fast.
Their history is messy and unresolved, and you feel every year that sat between them. Nothing about their reconnect feels easy or rushed. The past keeps pressing in, and it matters.
Vee moves through the story with quiet strength. She carries her family name, the pressure of the league, and the reality of working in a male-dominated space without losing herself. That balance felt real.
Finn never stopped choosing her, even when it hurt. His patience and loyalty made every moment between them hit harder.
The football side felt intentional and well done. It added real stakes and depth without overpowering the romance. The slow burn is worth it. The emotion builds steadily, and when things finally shift, it lands.
That ending left me sitting there in silence, already needing book two.
If you love second-chance romance, strong FMCs, and unresolved feelings that refuse to stay buried, this one delivers.
I went into this book without reading the blurb (just the tropes) and was pleasantly surprised! I don’t think I’ve read this authors work before so I think I can officially say this is my first new to me author of the year!
This was a short book and part of a 4 part series so…buckle in for the ride!
What I will say is that this story while it had character building, it focused more on football jargon IMO and, I find that I really appreciated it cuz I learned and re-learned a lot about football! I love on character focused romance books so much that having read this story scratched an itch I didn’t know I had!
I was thinking the ending was just a little rushed in terms of Vee and Fin’s forgiveness for each other but then the ending came and I realized that their story was actually FAR from over. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
If you’re looking for MCs with a past whose paths cross again over a decade later, with action packed football and a LOT of family drama that you just can’t seem to stop reading about, this one’s for you!
Intercepted was a near-perfect blend of character-driven storytelling and addictive pacing. From the first chapter, the tension is set — not just romantically, but emotionally — and it never loses momentum.
The characters are the real strength here. Their shared history adds weight to every interaction, making the banter sharper and the conflict more compelling. This isn’t just a football romance; it’s a story about power, pride, betrayal, and unresolved love.
The enemies-to-lovers dynamic is well executed, the slow burn feels intentional, and the second-chance arc is layered with both resentment and longing. The stakes remain high throughout, balancing romance with family legacy and professional consequences.
A gripping, emotionally charged read with excellent pacing and standout chemistry. Easily a five-star read for me.
This was a 4.5-star read for me, and honestly, my only real mistake was not reading the disclaimer first. I went in thinking this might lean closer to Aleatha Romig’s lighter books… and wow, was I wrong—in the best and most emotionally devastating way.
As I hit around 90%, I remember thinking, This feels oddly abrupt for an Aleatha ending. And then—of course—came her signature move: a cliffhanger so cruel it should come with a warning label. Absolute torture. I should have known better.
The story itself is addictive. The tension between Vee and Fin is everything—layered with history, heartbreak, power, and unresolved betrayal. Fin Graham is the ultimate tortured, larger-than-life NFL quarterback, and Vee is strong, guarded, and impossible not to root for. Their chemistry simmers, aches, and explodes in all the right ways.
That said, I don’t trust Vee’s uncle at all, and cousin Grant is giving me serious side-eye. Knowing Aleatha, I’m probably completely wrong—and that just makes me more excited (and nervous) for what’s coming next.
Intercepted is high-stakes romantic suspense done right: emotionally charged, seductive, and ruthless. If you love powerful families, second-chance romance, and stories that end by ripping the rug out from under you, this is absolutely for you. Just don’t make my mistake—know going in that this is book one of four… and the cliffhanger is brutal.
Intercepted is the start of a new series by Aleatha and wow, did this start with a bang! I can’t wait to dive into the next book! Mauve (Vee) and Griffin (Fin) are brought back together after fourteen years apart when he signs with her father’s team. He wants a second chance but she isn’t so quick to forgive him for shooting her.
This is a phenomenally written story, the amount of details in here blew me away. Vee’s father wants her to learn other aspects of the team outside of her position, and it brings to the surface how much research that must have went into this story. Kudos!
The unfinished story between Ver and Fin though, the yearning and old wounds are just below the surface. It brings an emotionally charged story to life.
Intercepted is the first book in a series that will follow football player Fin and football team owner’s daughter, Vee.
Tropes: 🏈 Second Chance 🏈 Workplace Romance 🏈 Enemies to Lovers 🏈 Slow Burn
Vee and Fin’s story is going to be so good! They met in college and dated, but with Fin transferring and some misunderstandings, they didn’t try to make it work, like they promised they would. Now Fin is playing for the team that Vee will eventually inherit, and he wants her back. She wants nothing to do with him.
I really liked learning their background in this book. They are both really enjoyable characters, and I really like where things are headed. We get left with a cliffhanger, and it’s going to bring a lot of drama in the next book.
🌶️🌶️
Thank you, Aleatha and HPR, for sending me a copy of this book!
Perfect for football time! This is one of her lighter romances, not the suspense or thriller types that she has written. It’s her first sports romance!
It follows a veteran quarterback, who knows what he wants, or who he wants, and it’s the NFL team heiress that got away in their college days. There’s drama, there are past hurts, and a ton of chemistry.
While there are themes that I don’t absolutely love, I was still all in and binged it in a day. Little did I know that there are 4 books total for this that I believe will follow the same characters. I thought the four books might follow different characters, but the cliffhanger says otherwise! It was fun, it was cute, if you like second chance and football romances, go take a look!
A fabulous start to this new series from Aleatha Romig. Intercepted introduces us to the Lexington Coopers, a team in the NFL and the family behind them. The main focus is Vee the owners daughter and vice president of Operations and Marketing and Fin a Quarterback recently signed by the Coopers. There is history between the two and when they come face to face after fourteen years old wounds are reopened but also their spark is still there. This book has a great family dynamic and i can already tell there will be lots more to come in the next books before we find out if Vee and Fin really have a second chance at forever.
This book had me turning page after page and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
This series follows Vee and Fin, both part of the Coopers football organization. This was a well written, perfectly paced story that held my attention, despite not being a football fan and only having a basic understanding of the game. I did skim some of the more technical, football centric scenes, but this did not take away from my enjoyment of the story. There was build up to several possibilities of what direction the story could take and I had several theories. One of those theories turned out to be correct. I cannot wait to see how the rest of the story plays out.
An unputdownable book. The first chapter captured my attention and I was hooked all the way through the crazy cliffhanger. The characters, Maeve and Finn, are so well thought out and the layers they each have are interesting and captivating. I love the history these two have because I have no idea where this story will take me. There is something about this author's writing that captures me and carries me away to a whole new world and I am here for it! I can't wait for more! I was sent a copy and these are my thoughts on this first book in the series!
Not a fan of football? You will be now! This is not just a love story between Vee and Fin but a love letter to football. Maeve ‘Vee’ Hubbard is the heir apparent of the Lexington Coopers football dynasty. Griffin ‘Fin’ Graham is their newly signed quarterback. Few know of their history. And oh, what a history it is. Their young love is ruined by his drive and her secrets. When they are reunited sparks reignite and maybe, just maybe, they can find love again. The shocking end of this installment proves once again that Aleatha Romig has many more surprises in store for us in this new series.
Oh my goodness, Vee and Griffin! I loved them together, it was such a good take on a second chance romance. I adored the relationship that Vee had with her father and dysfunctional family. Getting both Vee and Fin's POV and how the past interconnected was written so well. I'm such a football girl and Aleatha wrote the ins and outs good. I was so shocked at the ending and am so ready for the next book. That cliffy left me reeling.
What an amazing start to a new series. Vee and Fin's have history and are now reunited, him playing for her families football team and her being an executive for the team. Misunderstandings and old hurt are a huge mountain for them to overcome....I am excited and nervous to see how this all plays out, especially after the end of this first book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest opinion.
