story nice

They really took revenge on her because she had to face the pain of her mother being harmed and didn't know how to cope. Even years later, they decided to hurt her again and unfairly blamed her for everything. I really don’t like that. Sure, she ghosted them, but clearly their relationship wasn’t long—just a brief online connection that was about to turn into a face-to-face meeting. It was an entirely online relationship, making their persistent hostility even more unreasonable. It’s ridiculous.

Not a single likeable character

I thought I was invested in this story, but the more I read, the more I realized that not a single character in this story is likeable. The only halfway decent character was Jamie, and he spent the entire two books going out of his way to control the other three.

This is a story of four people who were never meant to be together, but force it because of the physical chemistry. It's disgusting and disappointing.

“Your happiness should never be the cost for someone else’s oh shit moment.” 🫧

🫧♥🫧---ARC Review---♥🫧♥

If book one was a full-force throat punch to the feelings, then this book felt like the soothing balm you’re handed afterward…still tender, still emotional, but focused on putting the pieces back together. Where the first installment leaned heavily into betrayal, heartbreak, and raw emotional devastation, this one shifts its focus toward the aftermath and the long, complicated process of healing.

“So yes, Bubbles, I got a tattoo for you. But not to woo myself back into your good grace, but because I needed it. To be marked by you, by my failures, and to be constantly encouraged to grow and learn.” 🫧

The pacing is noticeably slower, but in this case it felt intentional rather than frustrating. Healing rarely happens as quickly as the trauma that causes it, and the story reflects that reality. Each character has to confront what happened, unpack their emotions, and figure out how to move forward. That slower rhythm gave the story space to explore those struggles in a way that felt authentic.

🫧 “Ready?”
“With you? I’m ready for anything.” 🫧

A large portion of the book focuses on the characters’ individual healing journeys, which was both something I appreciated and something I occasionally wished had been balanced differently. On one hand, the individual growth felt necessary. Each character needed time to process their own guilt, grief, and regrets before they could realistically rebuild anything together. On the other hand, because so much time was spent on those personal arcs, the group’s collective healing sometimes felt slightly underexplored. There were moments of group bonding and conversation that I really enjoyed; I just found myself wanting even more of them after everything the characters had gone through together.

🫧 “Violet can hook a f*cking leash to me and demand I do anything, and I’ll do it.”

As for the groveling, I’ll admit I might have enjoyed seeing it pushed a bit further. That said, I did appreciate the way Violet handled things differently with each of the guys. Her responses felt tailored to their individual roles in what happened, which made those moments feel more thoughtful and true to her character. Of course, the emotional recovery wasn’t the only focus. The book still delivered plenty of spice throughout, balancing the heavier themes with moments of intimacy and connection that reminded you why these characters were fighting to find their way back to each other in the first place.

Y.V. Larson’s characters are often so relatable and she shows us that we all have our own journeys we go through where we need to find our inner strength and these characters show us that, yes times may be tough but you can look for help in those you love when you need that extra help. One of the amazing things that is highlighted in this book is that support can come from many different places, it can also come in different forms.. even in those you might not always look towards for it, but if you open yourself up to it and you might find what you need. Whether it's in your family.. or sometimes it can come from a partner, maybe even your close friends. Don’t let those intrusive inner thoughts win. They don’t control you and you can find the strength to get past them inside yourself.

Violet's been through so much already & it seems like things get worse before they get better. She’s been fighting the battle inside her head and her heart and it seems like she might just have more mountains to climb after that cliffhanger in part 1.

Jamie… ugh seriously, I love this man. There's so much that you could tell Jamie feels and he still puts his love for Violet first and foremost. He knows their relationship isn’t perfect but you can tell he’s more than happy to take the time and put in the work for her.

I feel so bad for Nate honestly. He’s been torn for so long that you could just tell that he needs the other to help him as much as they all need him.

I don't know about Ellis.. I feel bad for him but damn…He’s been handling a lot of things badly, and you can tell each time it eats him up inside. He wants the people he loves. He just needs to work on how he handles himself so he doesn’t put his foot in his mouth because of his anger.

These four characters have so much to work through separately that it shows how much they care for one another when they step back, they can see that they can rely on someone else to show them how to find the inner strength they have hidden behind trauma and those lies their brains tell themselves.

One of my top favorite things that make this book and Blue's so spectacular is the relationships these FMC’s have with their close friends. How they have each other's backs and show each of their friends that they are there for them no matter what. In this book we see it with Violet and Cassidy, but this author also displays it to us with Blue’s close friend Levi. Even though these women have their men, their friends are still majorly important in their lives.

"The victim should never be the one to make the villain feel better. I'm the fucking victim here. Violet and I. They're on their own."

Jamie is amazing. He's selfless, caring and just perfect. Be like Jamie. 😂

I came into this expecting grovel in capslock, and got it in a way I didn't entirely expect.

"There's no way in hell I'm waving the white flag on us, Jamie"

This isn't grand gestures (though there are some like renovating their house to give Violet her a cozy room tailored for her where she can relax, read or work.), and getting down on their knees begging for forgiveness (Ellis definitely does: "I'll sit on my knees for as long as you need for you to believe me. I'm so fucking sorry." ), but rather through personal growth.

There's so much growth in this book and watching each character recognise they have some unhealthy coping mechanisms and work to improve themselves was very heart warming.

"We've lied, betrayed, and made bad choices. This is the only choice. We give them our all for as long as we can, and if that's not enoguh, then it's not enough."

For Nate, that's realising that when he's struggling emotionally he neglects himself and enables Ellis by giving in to whatever he wants. "I not only failed Jamie and Violet, but I failed Ellis too...My anger at myself for letting one of my loves slip away and my need to keep Ellis always and forever drove me to make some poor choices." With this, he realises he needs to talk to someone professional who has experience with relationship dinamics that leads of a Dom/Sub nature.

For Ellis, that was realising that he has a very toxic way of dealing with his emotions, that is lashing out at those around him in a cruel way and finding a new and healthy way to expel that excess energy so he can work through his emotions.

"My feelings are vaild. Their feelings are too."

Like the guys, Violet too has to face some hard truths in both book one and two of this duet. That is, that she too has a rather toxic way of dealing with her emotions - she doesn't. Not a very good mix for someone struggling with crippling anxiety, insecurities and self depracating thoughts that have her self-worth...barely existent. She comes so far, goes through so much and comes out the other side a version of herself that she loves .

After that brutal cliffhanger in book one, I went into this needing justice for Violet, and Y.V. Larson delivered. If Book 1 was the "wrecking," Book 2 is the "rebuilding," and it was every bit as emotional and spicy as I hoped.

You guys, the grovelling! After the betrayal by Nate and Ellis, I needed them to work for it, and they truly did. Seeing these strong, alpha men realize the depth of the damage they caused to a woman who was already so guarded was heart-wrenching. They had to earn every single inch of her trust back, and watching that shift from "revenge" to "total devotion" was chef’s kiss.

The MMMF chemistry in this book is fantastic. While Jamie remains the absolute rock and the heart of the group, seeing how Nate and Ellis integrated back in—and how the bond between the three men evolved—was fascinating. Nate’s dominant streak really shines here, and the way he balances Ellis’s "bratty" energy while protecting Violet is perfection.

The most beautiful part of this duet remains Violet’s internal growth. She’s no longer just running; she’s standing her ground. Seeing her finally process the guilt from the Wilted Duet events and reclaim her happiness (and her "bubbles") felt like a massive win. The "voices in her head" are still handled with so much realism, making her one of the most relatable traumatised FMCs.

This conclusion was the perfect blend of hurt/comfort and spice. It’s heavy, it’s intense, and you’ll definitely need tissues, but the HEA is so incredibly earned.
A fantastic end to the Bubbly Duet!

This is what you want from a completed duet. Part One tears at your heart and destroys you emotionally. It left you hanging on, hoping that Part two would bring at least some light. And even though it is not an easy ride, Part Two does that. We get the light. We get some healing and some love. We get some absolute growth. This is the book that makes every moment you curse the author in the first book worth it. I absolutely love a book that makes me feel so strongly. Of course I want a HEA, but I want to work for it. I want my characters to go on a journey to become the people they should be in the end. That’s what this book gives and, along with the first book, creates a story that is worth the roller coaster that it takes you on.

Every single person in this group has growing to do and goes on their own journey in this book. Ellis and Nate have the most apparent growth needed. They have so much they need to work on themselves so that they can be the men that Violet deserves. They both have serious groveling to do and I really appreciate that we don’t just get forgiveness without growth. It happens in a lot of books where the MMCs grovel and are immediately forgiven. But these two work on themselves. Jamie is fantastic. He is exactly what you want. He is so protective of Violet and isn’t afraid to stand up against the other two if it protects Violet. Violet doesn’t get off easy. She also has to work on herself and deal with her guilt.

This is one of those books that is an emotional journey and has me aching when I finish. But it’s exactly that emotion that brings me life. It can be difficult to get through both books in the duet because it does feel real and real life is hard. Of course, there is plenty of spice and the spice is amazingly hot. So, this book isn’t all emotion and growth. Reading this entire duet is so good. It’s definitely worth the pain for the reward.

Even when I'm blue.

A why-choose romance where the MMCs also share a strong relationship with each other.

Such a powerful, moving, and incredibly addictive read about love, heartbreak, healing wounds, learning to forgive, and new opportunities.

One of the many wonders of Blue and Violet's story is the strong and deep bond they share. They show that love isn’t defined by blood. That parents aren’t simply those who bring us into the world, but those who care, teach, love, and are always present.

Blue’s story is so intertwined with Violet’s that both characters remain strong presences throughout the books, which is wonderful. It almost feels like getting an epilogue to Blue’s story while reading Violet’s.

The second part of Violet’s story begins right where the suspense left off.

The first book focuses on discovery, opportunities, facing reality, and love.
This second book is about healing, second chances, growth, and embracing love in its entirety—with both the good and the bad.

The characters are captivating, funny, and deeply human in their emotions.

On top of everything, they have great taste in decorating (I’d love a sliding ladder too!), and they definitely know how to grovel their way into her heart.

And we can’t forget Violet’s bestie. Their friendship is strong, pure, and beautiful.
They’re always there for each other and understand one another so well that they can anticipate exactly what the other needs.

Fighting for the future they deserve

This story is growth and real human emotions. Y.V. is very good at bringing out real emotions in her characters. You feel their struggles as much as your own. This book has Violet figuring out what she truly wants and taking the steps to find her peace.

This book has a much slower feel but it is intentional because healing doesn't happen overnight and trust takes time. All of the character have a lot of growth in this story both as individuals and as a polycule.

Jamie is the rock here and he will do anything for Violet even if it means protecting her from the other two men he wants as well. I live that he never allows the other guys to get away with anything. He gives them the time to grovel without being in the way but isn't pushing them on Violet either. The world needs more men like Jamie in it.

Nate and Ellis have a lot they needed to address for themselves as well. Nate discovers that when he gets overwhelmed he ignores himself and enables Ellis. For Ellis he realized he lashes out when he can't control his own emotions.

Ultimately they all have toxic ways they handle overwhelming feelings and learning that helps to discover better ways of dealing. By dealing with that they can learn to ask for or accept help when needed.

The end of this book was absolutely beautiful for Violet and all of her family.

The conclusion for Violet and her guys was absolute perfection! It was an impeccable representation that healing isn’t a linear journey - that self-doubts and insecurities often require regular maintenance of reassurance and support. I loved the reliance and comfort derived from friends and family and that they were prioritizing healing for themselves, and not for anyone else. I felt defensive of Jamie throughout and can’t help but think he deserved way more groveling and apology from many more characters than what he received. I still have questions around his connection to a certain group and I’m now curious about Cassidy’s experience with their leader. Another aspect that provided me so much closure was that you basically get an extended epilogue for Blue and her men, too, which was great to see!

This book was so much more that I expected. Yes we get the whole drama and resolution of Violet, Jamie, Nate, and Ellis but we also get so see their growth individually and together. There was groveling but even better Nate and Ellis made actually steps to show changed behavior and growth. Violet took the time to truly understand and love herself and Jamie was just amazing as always.
I love Violet and all her ups and downs because I relate to her so much. I love Jamie and how much he loves her no matter what. I’ll be honest, I like Nate but we definitely have beef and Ellis?! I’m still not sold. He did have probably the most growth and absolutely worked on himself but I still thinks he is a self-centered brat, but I guess that is part of his charm.

Either way, this book had me FEELING! Broke my heart and repaired it within 200+ pages. Amazing story lol

I really loved the second part!
I love how we see Violet's efforts to grow emotionally and finally allow herself to be loved without feeling guilty.
Jamie, ever the protector, is by her side, ready to support her and show her that she is worthy of love, even though he has been hurt too, he always puts her first.
Nate and Ellis have to grovel quite a lot, as they should, but I especially loved seeing Ellis put in the effort to become a better person and move on from the past.
I also enjoyed seeing how Violet interacts with her parents and her boyfriend's parents, especially how they accept and support their relationships.
A truly happy ending to this duet!

💜 Pops of Violet: Part Two💜
After how much Pops of Violet: Part One hurt, I didn’t think this one could hit harder… but it did 🥺📚
Pops of Violet: Part Two by Y.V. Larson continues Violet’s story with the same heavy, emotional depth of grief, guilt, and that quiet kind of pain that lingers. But this time, you really start to feel and understand the slow, hard-won healing.
What stood out most was the growth, not just for Violet, but between the MMCs too. Their relationships feel chaotic and real, and the groveling isn’t grand or dramatic. It’s in the small, quiet moments… the ones where they’re trying, where they truly see her. And honestly, those hit the hardest.
Still emotional, still messy but with just enough healing to keep your heart going… a beautifully completed duet once again 💜

I have the absolute pleasure of being an Alpha reader for this author and I am telling you this book right here is everything. It starts off where part one left on and oh boy are you in for a ride!

Violet is left reeling after hearing what she did. We even get more of Blue and her guys. Violet needs to work on herself too and let go of guilt she feels.

Jamie is distraught and also angry. Angry Jamie, hot! Jamie can do no wrong in my eyes.

Nate and Elias definitely have some groveling to do. We get to see another side of them too.

Will Violet be able to give forgiveness? Will Jamie? Will Nate and Elias groveling enough and make them love them? Need to read this book to find out all.

One thing I can always count on from Y.V Larson is a book hangover. She doesn't shy away from emotions and feelings. Her characters develop deep, intimate bonds that drive the plot. These characters show up and they are genuine and relatable. Violet’s healing was raw, same with Ellis. But they had to go through the trenches, they needed to get muddy and messy before they could appreciate the power of healing. There was a lot of groveling all around. There has to be when choices and actions are made that affect everyone. These characters all owned up to that. They fought for their happiness. It was beautiful to read.

If you have ever considered a second chance... or really a third... whew. This does such a great job of showing healing and forgiveness are a process, but that we have to keep moving forward. One grand gesture, one conversation, one cry is not the finale. It is a series of events and active decisions and steps forward and back. And that love needs more than just romantic support to heal- but family and friends as well. This is not about the spice, although we get a little of that too... it is about connection. And how to get that connection back when life gets in the way.

I just love these men! They’re all so unique but really fit together well and they’re all perfect for Violet our FMC in their own ways. Each of them has a lot of depth and strength that they brought to the story. I love Violet, she goes on a journey to learn more about herself and growing as a person in this one. It’s an emotional story with great spice as always and all types of love. This story shows familial love, friendship love, romantic love etc and how much we all need that village sometimes. It’s a quick read and really wrapped up everything nicely. Obsessed with the epilogue. Highly recommend. Violet and her men fit so well together and it’s a love hard won. 💜

So Deeply Human

The trials and struggles of all the main characters in this duet were so incredibly relatable . Each character’s emotional growth hurt to witness with how close it hit to home.

Unlike a lot of romances with polyamory, the representation of insecurities and jealousy felt like I could be right in the book with the main characters. If I was in this relationship there is no way I wouldn’t have insecurities. It’s just not who I am.

Just like Petals of Blue, this duet hurt me in the best ways. The writing was so well done and I felt so much while simultaneously not being able to put it down. YV Larson just became an if they write it I will read it author.

I enjoyed the conclusion to this duology. After the cliffhanger ending in part 1, I knew there was going to be a lot of groveling and making up to do, and I liked seeing Nate and Ellis try so hard to fix their mistakes. I was sad Jamie endured heartbreak too, especially with the accidental punishment and denial from Violet when he was innocent in the mess. Jamie is so protective and loyal, and his desire to make Violet happy always beats his own needs, but he was hurt too and needed the groveling just as much.
I liked the growth and emotional healing, and it was a fitting conclusion.

So thankful we didn't have a long wait for the second half of Pops of Violet. The cliffhanger in part 1 had me wondering what happened with Violet.
Picking up right were we left off, we see exactly what unfolded. On Violet's side and the guys side too. So much tension.
And groveling, oh boy do the guys do a lot of groveling, as they should after what happened. 😒
Violet does a bit of self reflection just trying to figure out what she wants for herself and life. And her men, Jaime, Nate, and Ellis, they do what they can to earn Violet's forgiveness. Things even end up pretty hot and heated several times. 🥵
But I liked this conclusion and growth these characters go through. Such a good quick read.

Thank you @y.v.larson for the arc and having me on your team. ☺️🫶🏻

The grovelling in this book was everything. Watching the characters work through the fallout of betrayal and hurt made the emotional payoff really satisfying.

Poor Jamie is caught right in the middle of it all. Loving both sides while also carrying his own pain. Seeing the push and pull between the ones who hurt the one he loves most, and the one who is hurting alongside him, created such a messy, emotional dynamic.

What I appreciated most was the growth. Healing didn’t happen overnight. The timeline stretching across months made the rebuilding of trust feel realistic and earned. Emotional growth is hard work, and this story really leans into that journey for all of them.

Angsty, emotional, and full of hard-fought healing.

After the cliffhanger part 1 left us on, I knew we were in for a ride. I loved how this book concentrated on the journey of healing, knowing your worth. Violet really went through it. It was so awesome to see her accepting she is worth the love and learning to let people in.

Our men showed up for her again and again to show her she was worth the fight.

Jamie still has my heart. He is so die-hard, always on her side.

Coming out on the other side of this book, full of self-awareness and stronger. Was what we needed.

Loved Jamie family as well as obviously blue and her men.

This was a great ending to this duet. I loved reading about the grovel the men and to put into place for not only Violet but also Jamie. Jamies love and devotion for Violet is so pure. Watching the guys come out of the hole they dug and seeing Violet get the help she needs was amazing. Watching Ellis and Nate come together and work on themselves was a beautiful thing. Then watching them all grow into who they were was perfect. I loved seeing the little snippets of Blue and her guys. Lots of healing, love and growth in this book.

"Things get messy when there's hurt involved with love..."

Love doesn't come easily. Love is WORK. Love is BRUTAL! Violet's conclusion is unapologetically bared to the very marrow of Life. The level of growth displayed amongst the polycule is drastic and leaves hope in all of us for the capacity to change. If Life has you feeling battered and beaten into the ground, let Violet's story leave you sated and a pleasant aura within your soul.

Book 2 of Pops of Violet, continues after Violet hears her messages from her guys and what she hears throws her into another bout of depression and inability to trust all her men because one misunderstanding truth within the voicemail. Will she be able to get through this betrayal and forgive them and herself? I can say it’s definitely going to some groveling, rebuilding of trust, this duet ending brings it all.

Y.V Larson never fails to deliver an emotional story. Each book written displays characters that the readers can easily relate to. This duet was no exception. Book 2 picks up after a particularly rough cliffhanger and immediately gets us back in the story. I really liked that the groveling was actual groveling and not just an apologize and be immediately forgiven. I love how the story came together and this little group truly became a family.

The end of a duet but what an epic conclusion as we see the healing process start after everything happened. I love how it is depicted as a process and not something that is done overnight but exactly what it is. A long term commitment in healing. This does mean the pace is slower but I can understand and feel along why and I absolutely love it. Course the groveling helps but could of maybe been a bit more, personal preference but still really done well. A must read duet.

I love a HEA that’s wrapped up in a gift for me.

As much as I love the spiciness of this book, and believe me it is spicy. There’s something special about an author and book that makes you love the subplots.

The friendships and relationships are top tier. Girl bonds are next level greatness.

Also I need to hear the side characters stories now.
