It was really cute catching up with some of the gang I loved getting little glimpses of Malachi and Z. Ginger and her bears are still a fun dynamic, and the Christmas twist was unexpected in a good way. Overall, the story itself was enjoyable and had some genuinely sweet moments.
My main critique is the same one I tend to have with this trio. It sometimes feels like Ginger and her men always end up hooking up at the most inconvenient moments, which causes some really interesting details to get skipped over. I don’t mind spice at all, but since this is a shorter story, the frequent sex scenes started to feel a bit repetitive. At a certain point, I just wanted to move into a different kind of action.
I would’ve loved to see more development around Ginger’s family and the healing happening there, as well as more depth with the antagonist. It felt like we’d get little sprinkles of new information, then a sex scene to close things out and I kept thinking, “Wait, hold on… answer that one question real quick!”
Still, it was a fun read and a nice revisit to characters I enjoy.
