I only wanted help through my next heat. That’s why I put up the ad, just a temporary arrangement, nothing permanent.
But when a pack of alphas answered, they convinced me to do something I never thought I’d agree to – carry their child.
I swore I’d never belong to a pack. I didn’t want the ties, the heartbreak, or the risk. Yet every heated glance, every touch, every late-night whisper has me falling for them in ways I can’t control.
There’s just one problem. They didn’t promise me forever. They only promised they’d be there for the baby.
Now I’m caught between the love I never expected and the fear that once this child is born… my place in their lives will disappear.
Weirdly enough I just couldn't get into the book. The characters are okay but the story telling is repetitive and I hate rereading the same thing in 4 different point of views not only once, but multiple times from EACH of them. The story doesn't appeal to me, one of the reasons because of that but also because it felt a little to desperate and the overexplaining got very annoying. When they overexplained they also repeated the same thing and the cycle continues. I'm only 91 pages in but I'm DNFing right now and my continue it later or check out the authors other works. It's hard to believe it was put out this year (or about to be put out since I got early access) because it kinda feels like a mid 2000s Wattpad story where you're promised one thing but the author lacks in executing it cohesively.
Book was ok. When writing Polyromances it’s hard to get it right cause each character has to bring something that is missing to the table. I just wished there was more depth to the book. Other than the relationship we don’t really dive deep into Hudson’s emotions being abandoned by his family nor do we do any deep dive into the 3 alphas lives.
Hudson is sweet and has emotional trauma in his life and I just felt like we never got the closure from that. After the baby was born did Hudson go back to school or change his life? Did he ever find or confront his family again and get closure?
Mason would be probably the main character and antagonist in the book. If you read it then you’d know why but I just felt like he didn’t grovel enough. Also what about his family? Did they ever want to reconcile with him? This book is weird. Just how old is mason and the alphas? Des says he’s almost 50 and Hudson is like in his 20s but says they bonded with mason when Hudson was in middle school?
Alex was probably the most liked character as he got the most screen time with mason throughout the book. Their relationship felt more genuine than the other 2. This is why it’s hard to write poly books because there will be authors favorites and when it comes to relationships each person needs as much as the other, otherwise it feels as if some characters are just there.
Desmond had the least amount of time and dialogue. There wasn’t much depth to his character and I just felt bad because he didn’t get to bond with Hudson till like the end of the book so we didn’t know how he would react to Hudson throughout the book if he was bonded knowing what Hudson felt. Also we never see any of the alphas families yet it’s talked about a few times in the book.
Book is spicy but for me I just needed more depth of the book.
To be transparent, with two exceptions, this author seems to be a three star author for me. So I was not expecting much from this book. But I wasn't expecting it to be this bad.
The characters were basically all the same with either a "I want to keep the omega but won't say so" or a "they dont want to keep me dont get further attached" tone to differentiate between the alphas and the omega. Other than that I had no idea whose pov i was in as I read.
The writing was cringe and a downgrade from previous books. I don't understand how this is the same author. It was giving wattpad/fanfiction vibes. Very unpolished but also surface level.
The whole plot was basically a level of unforgivable miscommunication with a dash of one character has to be a jerk because of quota rules so here you go. Seriously everyone was all "i want him but I won't tell him or discuss it with my pack" or "I want to stay but they don't want me so I won't say anything." Every thing just kept repeating and repeating but no one did anything. It got old.
The chemistry between Hudson and his three alphas is immediate and undeniable. I loved watching this fiercely independent omega slowly realize he actually wants the pack he never thought he needed; however, the characters are so underdeveloped that it actively pulled me out of the story.
Tragiczne nudy. Zamiast ze sobą porozmawiać to tylko jęczą, że są zakochani ale nie mogą być ze sobą i to cała treść tej książki. Po co ta cała więź jak wcale nie czują swoich uczuć.
This was a sweet, fairly low stakes MM OV. Loved the OV aspect, the author did a nice job bringing that into the story and characters. I wish there had been a little more backstory on Hudson and that he had shared more of that with his suitors. Story resolved quickly and had a HEA
