First, know that though this is an 89-page novella, it truly works as a baseline for what’s to come in the next book. I looked at it almost like a prequel. We’re introduced to the characters right from the start. The author leads readers into something spicy and fun—strangers-to-lovers, perhaps —but it quickly turns dark.

Veronica is described as the “it” good. Think the beauty influencer type, but has her own cosmetic line. At her 21st birthday party, she has an ONS with the hot guy she’s never going to see again. But he ends up as her bodyguard when things go dangerously awry due to an unfortunate turn of events.

What she doesn’t anticipate is that her bodyguard, Aleksandr, becomes extremely OTT/JP with her. His behaviors are pretty questionable. Do as I Say is a dark romance. I liked having Aleksandr’s POV and seeing all of his stalkerish, obsessive thoughts unfold. It was also interesting to see how Veronica responded to him.

As mentioned earlier, the story is 89 pages long and leaves off with many questions that will be answered in Book 2. I think Do as I Say is definitely worth the read.

I really liked the potential in this book. The dark romance was dark romancing. The beginning was really detailed and unique, I really enjoyed it. Nearing the end it felt a little rushed through the remaining storyline. I would still invest my time into a second book in this series because I'd like to see where the story goes from here.

The way this novella had me screaming to the top of my lungs. I was CAPTIVATED from the first chapter. Chapter 1 was absolutely eye opening and from then on, it just got more chaotic in the best way. It was kind of like watching a true crime, bodyguard romance, and boy was it good. When Veronica and Alek first meet its at a party, and then it just goes sideways from there. There was a moment in the story where I almost threw my kindle because he’s also her stalker and somehow that made me even more excited.

I think the characters are really well done in this Novella. We learn a lot about Veronica in a short amount of time, mainly through her cosmetics business which I thought was really cool. I also think Alek has a lot pf personality even if it is dark and rooted in unhinged vibes. There’s a reason for his darkness and somehow that kept my attention alot. He was so twisted, and for some reason I was kicking my feet about it.

I actually enjoyed some of the underlying messages that were portrayed in this book. Like how you put on a performance for everyone even though deep down thats not who you are. It’s interesting to see this come to life in dark romance but it really worked for me.

I definitely wanted more, but that just means I need to continue reading more by Jasmine Hart. Thank you Jasmine for letting me read this story!

ummm wtf where’s the rest !!!! 😭 if you like Joe from YOU.. you’ll eat this up. this had some half baked spice but i feel like it was intentional. like we weren’t supposed to get caught up in the pleasure bc this is not a pleasurable situation. i need to know what Ronni is gonna do next bc ain’t no way this is it!!! this sh!t had my heart racing bc i didn’t know if he was gonna end up being just like regular dark romance psycho or if he was psycho psycho … *spoiler alert* he’s def the latter😵‍💫 i only took away half a star bc i need more & im petty like that 😅

Bodyguard / stalker romance what more could a girl ask for. Alek Is the perfect level of psycho with a smidge of caring all wrapped up in a sexy 6 ft plus mountain of a man. Veronica, she's business savvy but homegirl is a little ditzy sometimes and just be go with the flow a little too much. I can't wait for book two to see if she actually accomplishes her little plan that she came up with towards the book. Or will Alek already know what she's planning before she even starts her little mission. such a good read can't wait for what's to come next.

Jasmine Hart has done it again! This book from this up and coming young author took turns I didn't see coming. I was left clutching my imaginary pearls, and being glad I was alone when I said aloud "~GASP~ NO, HE DIDN'T!!!" Or even, "But, WHY, thooooough?" I'm seriously fearful for the safety of some of the characters in the follow-up book. Veronica is a naïve girl who fell for a dangerous man. Alek is a dangerous man whose idea of love is unhinged and controlling. I can't wait to see what happens next!

This is a novella and I guess you can call it a prequel to the next book. I can say that I will not be continuing this series, and I felt it was rushed at the end. The beginning was done well but after about 40% in things were going too fast.
