Rowen is back and I’m so excited to see what he is up to. We pick up right where we left off with Rowen and Avery having left their parents home. Now they are navigating life and feelings. Rowen is throwing our girl every which a way and she is not complaining one bit. Rowen is up to something(like always) and I can’t wait to see what it is. Avery this time around seems to be quiet and reserved. She is adjusting to it just being the two of them. This man is literally like if you need buy it, work don’t work, school no school. He will literally give her anything and everything but she can’t leave him ever. I mean that is a big red flag but are we ignoring it? Yes, yes we are. These two are going at it like rabbits as always. Rowen doesn’t know what a boundary is at all. Avery is finding herself and is definitely less of a b***h this time. She lets Rowen love how he does but she pushed him and stands up for herself. These two had a different take on conflict resolution and usually involved restraints. This was a complicated and unconventional but beautiful love story. And I love Rhea’s writing. It’s like as I’m reading her words I can visualize the scene. It’s amazing!

So this the second book of the The Deviant duet— Break Her. Rowen and Avery is back and I'm excited to see what Mr. Rowen have up his sleeve for Avery. The story start with them leaving their parents' home and living together and navigating their lives together with deep obsessive feelings. Rowen is so OBESSED with Avery and she is loving every second, she don't have to worry about anything because Rowen gives her everything she want and need and the only thing he ask of her is to never leave him. Avery seems quite and just going with the flow of what Rowen wants especially when he dicking/ eating her down just about every other page and she let him but i do like when she speak her mind and stands up for herself. Hell I'm here for all the SPICE. Rowen is so obsessed that he don't let her breathe figuratively want to be around her every minute of the day and literally when he sucking her face to the point where she have to try to push him away, now i love an obsessive man but he is a walking RED flag that I accept lol. They have a unique, complex love story, and Rhea’s writing makes scenes vivid and beautiful.

Well just when I didn’t think Rhea could turn the spice up more between these two, she goes and proves me wrong in the second book of Avery and Rowen’s story.

Now that they are officially together, Rowen’s possessive side is cranked to eleven and he will not let Avery out of his sights.

Throughout the book we see Rowen struggling because be is so fearful that Avery will wake up and realize he is no good for her. So he showers her with affection the only way he knows how, cooking, sex and gifts - in no particular order, to keep her by his side.

Avery is also struggling with the fall out from their parents, though she knows she loves him deep down she can’t bring herself to say those three little words. His love is all encompassing of her and though we see her internal struggle, she not so secretly loves his obsessiveness.

Rowen does some questionable things in this story but I loved when Avery turned the tables on Rowen to teach him a lesson. My heart broke a little for him too but it made the punishment that much sweeter 😏

PUSHED TO BREAKING POINT

Book 2 of The Deviant Duet, Break Her starts right where author Rhea Pryce left us in Book 1, Bend Her. After suddenly being discovered, Avery and Rowan must now navigate this relationship without the support of family. So what do you do, well if you're the MMC who is completely obsessed and devoted to the FMC, then you gotta do the only thing possible, keep her completely blissed out on love. Now if you're the FMC, fighting your true feelings and wanting a connection with your family, well then you push all the boundaries and test how far you can go before the MMC breaks you. I loved the dynamics between these two characters, the underhandedness of Rowan mixed with his love and devotion while Avery's naivety but growing emotion and love matches perfectly. Beautiful, engaging writing from Rhea Pryce had me loving every page turn of this book and series. The primal play from Book 1 continues in this second book but it is more focused on the developing relationship and how these two lovers navigate their new world.

Besties… when I tell you Rowen came back and chose obsession every single time? I mean it! "Break Her" picks up right where "Bend Her" left off, so do NOT skip Book 1. You need the full spiral to appreciate this unhinged, ultra-possessive man in all his feral glory. Rowen is compulsive, controlling, absolutely deranged over Avery… and somehow I’m still over here kicking my feet. The grip he has? Terrifying. The devotion? Twisted. The mouth on this man? Award-winning filth!😏🤭

This was smutty-smutty, primal, taboo chaos... with obsession dialed all the way up. Dark secrets, control battles, emotional tension, and scenes that will have you reaching for your partner… or your toy… or both 😈. No judgment. 😏

And the epilogues!? LOVED! This duet delivered intensity, spice, and that messy, toxic-but-make-it-romance energy I live for! OMG besties… add this to your TBR, seriously! 😉

I am not marking this review as spoilers because 1. there has to be a plot for spoilers and 2. to warn y'all.

This was one of the most atrocious things I've ever read, I can't believe I finished it ( I'm calling this "it", because I refuse to call it a book). I think I believed the ending would redeem the whole, but it didn't.
Plot? None. Absolutely nothing happened.
Conflict? None. The girl is too cock smitten to use any braincells she may have left, any thoughts she briefly has disappear as soon as she sees him.
Smut? Repetitive. Boring. All the squirting, "you love your stepbrother's cock", and descriptions of how she passed out from all the sex got old really fast.
Characters? Stupid hoe who somehow suddenly loves the guy she spent her whole life hating because he fucked her good. And an abusive, obssesive psychopath who corners, trapts, borderline rapes and LIES TO the girl to get her pregnant and calls it all love. And she's all in for that. I mean, she runs away, but only to be caught and fucked in the forest again.

Terrible, just fucking terrrible.

I finished book two… and I loved it just as much as the first.

Avery and Rowan still have me completely hooked. There’s something about them that just works. Their dynamic is intense, a little chaotic, and honestly hard to look away from. I stayed invested the entire time because of them.

I will say, I found myself wishing for a little more plot. It definitely leans heavy on spice, and while it’s done well, I kept wanting just a bit more depth to balance it out. I wanted a few more moments that slowed things down and really built on the story underneath everything.

But even with that, I still really enjoyed it. It gave me exactly what I was expecting after book one, and I can’t deny how easy it was to get pulled right back into their world.

Overall, this duet did what it needed to do. It kept me engaged, gave me characters I cared about, and left an impression.

BOOK TWO IS DONE AND APPARENTLY I HAVE LEARNED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Are they step-siblings who are both completely unhinged again? YES.
Was Rowen a tad bit obsessed? A TAD???
Was it 182 pages of obsessive spice? PRETTY MUCH.

And after Bend Her had me building an increasingly unhinged TBR, Break Her really said, “Oh, you thought we were going to calm down? Absolutely not.”

182 pages of obsessive, filthy chaos? ABSOLUTELY.

This was a VERY short book that somehow managed to pack an absolutely ridiculous amount of obsession and spice into it.

I came into book two wondering if these two would actually stay in love and left thinking, well… they’re still completely fucking feral, so I guess we’re good?

My TBR is getting more unhinged with every book I read and at this point I’m not even fighting it.

The Devious Duet is officially keeping me in a chokehold.

Okay but wow… this book was hot. Like, “I’ll just read one more chapter” and suddenly it’s 2am kind of hot.

We saw hints of the MMC’s darker side in book one, but this time around you really get the full picture — and yeah, he’s completely unhinged in the most delicious way. The title fits their dynamic perfectly. Once it clicks, you’re like… yep, there’s no better name for this story.

I honestly felt like this book amped up the spice compared to the first one, and I loved that the story didn’t lose momentum. The connection between Roman and Avery deepens, gets messier, darker, and somehow more intimate — which made it even harder to put down.

And that ending? A happily ever after that feels right for them — twisted, intense, and satisfying in their own way. If you’re into dark romance with serious heat and characters who don’t play by the rules, this one absolutely delivers.

Oh this book definitely cured my reading slump that i was starting to get 🤭. I do enjoy a good taboo romance and just like the first book , this did not disappoint! 👏🏼 I could not put this one down and I finished it within a day ! Rowen is DEFINITELY the definition of an unhinged and obsessive MMC and i am here for it.😈 I don’t want to say much so you all can read it for yourself but just know this story is full of spice and i do recommend reading Bend Her first since this book does pick up where that one left off.

Break Her was an interesting continuation, and I definitely enjoyed seeing a different side of the characters. I liked how much darker things became and watching her start to step outside of the “good girl” version of herself.
My biggest issue, though, was how quickly that transition happened. It felt like she went from being a good girl to embracing an extremely dark side almost overnight, and I really wish we had gotten more development in between. I wanted to see her struggle with that side of herself, explore it more, and slowly become comfortable with it rather than having the change happen so quickly.
I still really enjoyed the chemistry and the dynamic between the characters, and there were definitely moments that kept me invested. I just think the story had so much potential to dig deeper into her transformation, and I would have loved more of that.

This conclusion to the duet...hands down, AMAZING! I love how it picks up right where things ended in Bend Her. In this one we get to learn a bit more about Rowen, and kinda get to understand why he is the way he is, and does the things he does. He is a total walking red flag, but the kind we totally love in our fictional characters. He is absolutely obsessed with Avery, but she is just as obsessed with him. They both have their faults. Him loving too much, and her not loving loudly enough. They are perfect for each other. The spice in this one was top freaking tier!! So so much spice. The ending was chef's kiss. Rowen definitely had me cracking up. Definitely check those warnings, as this is a taboo romance, but I highly enjoyed this book, and the duet as a whole.

Avery matches his energy in her own way, learning how to navigate his obsession without losing herself. Their love is twisted, chaotic, and all-consuming, exactly what you want when diving into a darker romance like this.

Break Her starts where Bend Her ended and we learned more about their dynamic as a new couple who ran away together. Rowen definitely has boundary issues, but after having to hide his feelings for so long, he just wants to be able to essentially yell it from the roof tops - and is learning to tone it down. Avery is learning how to really handle Rowen's obsession with her without feeling like she's drowning.

By the end of the book, I was rooting for them more and more. The way Rhea has been able to tell their story has been so much fun to read. Break Her had me giggling, while also going "what the hell" a few times. I read it in a day - I didn't want to be able to put it down!

Rhea, what did you do to me? I freaking love this book! I can't get enough of Rowan oh my God! This is the second book of Rowen and Avery's story. They are finally together and Rowen's obsessive and possessive side started to reveal. He was struggling and in fear that Avery will one day realize that he is not good for her. I love how Rowen showers her with affections I was a bit giddy lol! Avery the learned how to handle Rowen's obsession without feeling like drowning. I read this book in one sitting and was gigiling kicking my feet and sometime saying "WTF". Rhea, this book is fun to read and had an amazing time I can't put this book down. !

The second book definitely dove deeper into their relationship and we got to learn more about Rowen. I appreciated understanding what Rowen decided to do with himself and his work when he was forced to live on his own. When their relationship did intensify his possessive obsession with Avery was a little much in my opinion. I understand people would do anything to not lose what they have, but he went a little far with some things. With that being said i did love the ending and how sweet it was. Definitely took me a little by surprise at how the book finished. Overall the duet was well written, Rowen was just a little much for me

I honestly didn’t like the relationship at all. It felt extremely toxic and overly possessive in a way that just made me uncomfortable rather than invested. Instead of feeling like a dark romance with depth, it came across as controlling and unhealthy without any real balance or emotional development.
There were multiple moments that completely threw me off, especially situations where her freedom was taken away in ways that felt excessive and unnecessary. It made it really hard to root for the characters or their relationship.
On top of that, some of the themes explored didn’t sit right with me and just added to the overall discomfort rather than enhancing the story.

I dont usually start with the ending in my reviews. However, I think it was perfect and the epilogues hit the spot!
This book had a humor, secrets, obsession, and lots of spice throughout.
Rowen was and still remained a walking red flag. His jealous and possessive ways never changed, but i loved him even more because of it. I'm glad that Avery pushed back a little, but ultimately I love when she finally admitted her love.
If your looking for a captivating and spicy duet, with step sibling love, this is definitely it!!

I loved the plot 🔥(so good), loved the spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶, and I love how Rowan is completely obsessed/ over taken by Avery... I liked how we saw a little more from both characters and growth from Avery when she finally came to her feelings. I loved that we got a view of the future and saw how everything played out. I received this book early and DEVOURED it in one sitting!!! I love Rowan and Avery soooooo much!!!! Rowan 🌶️🥵 is obsessed and Avery is just the same..just takes her longer to admit it to him. I looooooove the ending so much..and the Epilogues..chefs kiss 💋. I was laughing and so freaking happy with this story!!!! If you have triggers..check them! This is taboo step siblings..one of my fave tropes!!!! Definitely a must read series for all the taboo baddies!

This love between the two of them is twisted and buried so deep into their veins there’s no way one could survive without the other. Rowan would literally do anything and I mean anything to keep Avery all to himself. He does some sketchy stuff throughout the book, but I swear where I should see red flags I just don’t. I just see a man so deeply obsessed with her that he literally sees nothing wrong with what he’s doing.

I was so excited to read the 2nd part of this duet. Rowen and Avery are perfect for each other! I loved the conflict that Avery had regarding her love for Rowen, and the moment she finally came to terms with it was absolutely beautiful. The spice in this book deserves its own spice rack in the cottage kitchen. She was edged so much, even I started to feel pain. I’m so excited to read more from this author. I wish I could have given it more stars!!!!

I made a mistake and did not immediately go from book 1 to book 2. I read a few books in between and lost my momentum. It took a while to get back into the story . I won't make that mistake again . I'm immediately going into book 3 . This was a good filler story. A little different spicy scenarios and love the dynamic between main characters. This is really not very dark. Very quick read series with fantasy and steamy scenes with a grumpy beast.

Honestly, there were some very dark spots in this book but it was amazing. I read the first of the series and was obsessed with finding something similar until the second one came out, but nothing compared to the heat. When I finally saw the second one available, I began reading it instantly and was hooked immediately. It was spicy, dark, and perfect. The ending was super cute and the perfect ending.

As with Bend Her, this was is just more of the same. I really didn’t find a “story” here other than step siblings pounding each other non stop. I compared this to Little Stranger and Little Liar, but with those, there was an actual story that unfolded to keep you interested. If my daughter reads this review, she’ll laugh at me cuz I really like the spicy stuff…and this had some STUFF but it was just too much. Which, really disappoints me. 😕

This book is unhinged and spicy as hell! Rowan is so hot 🥵 , He is possesvie & totally inlove with Avery. Rowan is completely unhinged and obsessed with her. I thought he was obsessed in the first book. he definitely ampt it up in book 2. he doesn't even mind nor care that there step-sibblings. loved Avery's characters. Even she struggles to come to terms with her feelings.
