Started reading this with every character speaking in a robot voice and couldn't stop. The dialogue is truly atrociously stilted.

Another book I had to DNF.

So it's the new year's and they have resolutions.
And first Hannie said she will stop biting her nails, Kristy won't stop talking to Bart on the phone.

But guess what Karen starts breaking her resolutions and spying on her friends and family and they start calling her a spy.

I have no idea if I might read more of her though....

So much fun! I love seeing the Baby-Sitters Club world continue to grow with these graphic novels. Bright, funny, and incredibly approachable for younger readers. This is exactly the kind of book that disappears from our library shelves almost immediately!
This one had all the elements we love- friendship, family, communication, diverse families, school, etc! The New Year’s resolution piece was interesting- and I liked seeing Karen struggle to understand why some people break resolutions. I didn’t like how the parents handled their lesson to her (“taste of your own medicine” type lesson)- but they did apologize to her for their methods.

Karen decides to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her family, and everyone makes resolutions, but she decides to be a true brat and spy on everyone to see if they are keeping their resolutions. Will they be unhappy when they find out? This book was very amusing, and it took me about 15 to 20 minutes to read it, but I enjoyed it. The artwork was very cute as well.

Karen spies on her family & friends and announces when they break their New Years Resolution, which is crappy, but she's 7 and she stops and then a few days later her mom does the same thing to her and then she's like "sorry but I had to." What?? But a star higher than the text version, I think the graphic novel format made it a little softer

Counting books in my reading challenge that I copyedited or proofread. It's only fair. It's a damn lot of reading I'm not including otherwise!

Such a fun project.

Karen is a piece of work. But…she does learn how to be nicer to those around her in this book and there are hilarious moments.

This is why we need to explain things to kids, otherwise there will be misunderstandings.

Karen is an anxious type A little bean in this book. It’s one of the only times I identify with her.

It’s really hard to like Karen. She always seems to cause drama.
