Gruesome, obscene, gory, and absolutely brilliant.
This was the most unhinged relationship I've ever read about and the solutions to solving their disfunction are about as helpful as a toddler helping you mop.
Emelia and Julian are about as functional as a broken clock but they force it to work because they know nothing else or anyone else that could handle the absolute depravity that is them. Julian keeps finding himself in the same situation--Emilia doodling in blood and wreaking havoc in any way she can--and Julian is becoming tired but he can't seem to leave because deep down he loves the depravity even if Emilia pushes too far 10/10 times.

My favorite part though is the Afterword because FOR FUCKING REAL.

This book was phenomenal! It's the darkest romance I've ever read, and I know it spans multiple genres, including splatterpunk. M Von Lindenberg's writing style drew me right in and had me turning pages so quickly. The book sucked me in so deep that I got upset when life interrupted and I had to put it down. There are graphic scenes, but I tell this here and now, they are not gratuitous, they absolutely make sense for the story and the characters. Overall, this was a 4.5 star read for me and I've posted a recommendation review to my main social channel as well. I can't wait to read the author's other works, which have also come highly recommended to me by other readers. Do yourself a favor and give this book a chance, you won't regret it.

This book is horrifying and disgusting and also gods-damned amazing. I love and hate this book equally. Love, because it's so incredibly well written and the feelings and characters are just phenomenal. Hate, because it puts the most terrifying thoughts in my head.
Do not take anything I'm saying as a negative. This is a great book, but it's difficult because of the subject matter. Von Lindenberg has written a piece of social commentary that pulls no punches, but instead uses an icepick to carve out your soul.
If you want to torture yourself and put the words intrusive thoughts into your little brainpan... read this. Or listen to it via Michael Neeb's amazing narration. Either way.

Julian and Emilia are thick as thieves -now 15 years and 19 bodies later the tension is rising between them.
How many fires does Julian have to put out before realizing by him loving her so unconditionally(in his own way) he’s fed into Emilia’s mental illness and delusions making things so much worse.
A relationship based on infatuation and narcissistic control between two very deeply disturbed individuals who wreak havoc while working on their “relationship”

Fantastic story about a deranged couple who fight and argue over, what’s honestly hilarious considering the nature of their lives and how they pursue “happiness.” Oddly relatable on some levels, but likely due to my understanding of outcasts and how that looks in a non fictional world. Those bullied and casted aside tend to have a strange way of coming to terms with adulthood and what it means to live a life of happiness, oftentimes ruining the lives of everyone around them to feel fulfilled. Wish I would have picked this book up sooner, but happy I did. Would definitely recommend!

I absolutely could NOT look away! I read this book cover to cover in a single sitting and devoured every second of it! It was spectacularly gory, gruesome, vile and raunchy in the BEST WAYS!

This story brought to mind the movie Natural Born Killers with Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis.

It’s not for the faint of heart and if you have a weak stomach, you might want to think twice but if you love a good splatter punk gore fest with a side of sick and twisted romance, this is an absolute MUST READ!!

I’m eagerly heading into another book by M Von Lindenberg next!

Extremely unsettling! Julian and Emilia met in high school and Julian was immediately drawn to her. She’d sank her claws in deep and he refused to struggle against her grasp. Both come from very troubled backgrounds, but Emilia’s struggle is dark. Even leaving bodies in her wake, Julien cannot help but love her with his entire soul.
