I really want to love this book. Its cozy vibe and love theme would make anyone love it. It holds the reader’s attention from start to end. I, however, didn’t connect with the characters as much. Amber needs to reevaluate herself. I’ve never been this pissed at a book character, and maybe that's what makes stories worth telling. I, however, love that she hasn’t lost hope in love.

Ohh, I loved Rian from the very beginning, he was such a sweetheart, thoughtful and caring. I rooted for him the entire time, truly he deserved the absolute best. I felt so bad for Levi too.

So, we all remember where we left Amber in Book 1, right? Drunk in a restaurant? Proposing to some random guy? Well, that escalated quickly. Because I swear E. Masson grabbed that thrilling cliffhanger, looked us dead in the eyes, and said, “You thought that was shocking? Hold my coffee.”
First of all: the oh-sh*t moments. I mean ACTUAL, out-loud, hand-over-mouth, pacing-the-room OH. SH*T. moments. Just when I thought I could breathe—NOPE. Another twist that made me want to text a friend in all caps at 2 AM.

Now, can we talk about the mothers-in-law situation? Because WOW. I officially hate mothers-in-law. Like… is there a support group? A hotline?? These women had me stressed, yelling, personally offended—and I’m not even in this family. The manipulation, the tension, the passive-aggressive energy… absolutely unmatched. And then it hit me. Oh sh*t. I have a son. One day… I might be a mother-in-law. I had to sit there and reevaluate my entire future personality. Am I destined to become one of them?? Is this my villain origin story?? I am NOT ready for this kind of self-reflection thanks to a novel, thank you very much.

Now onto the characters I love to hate:
• Levi — I hate you. No, really. Every time I thought you might redeem yourself, you chose chaos instead. I wanted to believe in you. I tried. And yet here I am, once again betrayed.
• Emily — girl, what are we doing?? I have never been so exhausted by someone’s decisions. The secondhand frustration is REAL.
• Heather — oh, so NOW we’re adding you to the list?? Fantastic. Great. Love that for us. Another character to scream about.

At this point, my emotional state is just: distrust everyone, suspect everything, and prepare for impact.
But here’s the thing—I LOVED it. Every messy, dramatic, stress-inducing second of it. The pacing? Addictive. The tension? Relentless. The drama? Peak “just one more chapter” energy until suddenly it’s 3 AM and you have regrets (but also not really).
This book didn’t just continue the story—it escalated it in the best possible way. Higher stakes, sharper conflicts, and characters who you want to both hug them and throw your book across the room. And the ending? I mean… COME ON! Nooooooo.

Final verdict: If you enjoy stories that will emotionally ambush you, make you question your future as a hypothetical in-law, and leave you yelling at fictional people like they can hear you—this is it.

Now excuse me while I go process my feelings, waiting for Book 3… and reconsider how I’ll treat my future daughter-in-law 😅

Book 1 ended in a massive cliffhanger, and I had no idea where book 2 would lead us. Well here we have the answer - straight into more frustration and another ending sending the reader into a spiral of waiting for the next instalment!
Firstly, just to say that this cover is just as gorgeous as the cover for book 1, I think together they will make striking additions to a readers bookshelves.
We see more of Levi and Emily, thinking ugh so you are all still awful human beings. We see more of James and again my heart aches for him, the perpetual good guy always coming last. Rian is the man we met right at the end of book 1, and there's times I really liked him, and times I really didn't. The super sweet Lucas is just as cute as ever, just wanting his mum to be happy. There are a few other supporting characters, Linda - I love how supportive she is of her family, but I really wish she would give her daughters head a wobble! James and Rian's mums - with James's mum its clear she loves her son, but what a way to speak to people! Rian's mum is awful, I hope her just desserts come to her in book 3! Amber, after flip-flopping over liking her and not liking her throughout book 1, book 2 cemented my feelings for her, and they are strictly in the not liking her camp. She's so indecisive and makes poor decisions constantly. Yet somehow I also want to keep reading, its like a sickness making me want to see what rubbish paths she will head down next. I really wanted everyone to get happy endings, but I actually dont want them in the way I wanted them in book 1. I hope everyone sees their true worth and can seek happiness with people who deserve them.
As with book 1 this is a short read, though spans a couple of years with a lot happening across it. I finished it in one sitting, just completely devouring the pages.
I've no idea what's going to happen next in this series, but I definitely want to follow the action!

After reading the first book in this LoveWade Tale series back in January - Selecting The Wrong Love - and being left on a cliffhanger, I just knew that I'd be heading back into this world with Amber, to find out just what happened next.

 

So, this book does continue directly on from where we left Amber and Rian in the cafe bar - after a strange meet cute, the pair continue to develop their relationship through this book and I actually really quite liked the way they connected and the devotion that Rian developed.

 

But as we know, things never seem to run smoothly for Amber and when James decides to make an appearance in Amber's life again, things get a whole lot more complicated.

 

Now, if you remember, I said in my last review that we have to suspend belief a little for these books - and this rings true for this read too.

Some of the events definitely seem to happen out of the blue or super swiftly - we also see some odd time jumps through chapters too.

 

In this story we see our fair share of conflict caused by some of the newer characters reacting to events here and we also see Levi and Emily making another unwelcome appearance.

This is balanced out nicely with some much lighter and happier scenes as well as a couple of spicier moments.

 

Again, I feel as though some of the events could have been developed more or expanded on by following through in more detail.

But, overall, this kept me intrigued from start to finish.

 

This was another short read at around 150 pages and I raced through this in just 2 sittings.

The tension built up towards the ending and I knew we were going to be left on another huge cliffhanger.

I totally hadn't seen it coming and was completely shocked - and of course I have to get my hands on book 3 to see what happens next - although I think I might have some ideas....

OMG Where do I even start with this book holy cow !! Like seriously I didn’t think this series could get any better but Yeahh I was way wrong. Like way wrong. The authors writing is so good and I think I loved this book more than the first. I loved Amber and we left her drunk in a restaurant proposing to a random man. Yep best and worst ending ever!!! lol.

I was so glad to be back for this next book. Like I thought the first one had twists and turns this book had so much more moments where I was like umm what just happened times where I was like dang I wish I had someone to talk to about this book because I’m dying !!!

Umm ok the Mother-in law situation what the actual heck. I mean wow. I am lucky well mostly my mother in law is ok. We’ve had our moments though that’s for sure but this one takes the cake. The manipulation, the tension you can cut with a knife the energy and how it was just wrong oh so passive aggressive and wrong and yeah I have kids I have 2 boys so the thought of this really makes me stop and think like really hard lol.

I loved this book so much and I loved most of the characters but dang some were exhausting and draining and made my head spin It really has so much to offer and I couldn’t put this down was I dragging butt the next day umm yeah did I need an extra energy drink yep sure did but totally worth it!!

Umm the ending are we for real right now ?! Excuse me while I go and contemplate my life choices and decisions on being a mother in law someday and how I have the stress of thoughts of that. Yikes. Thanks lol

Yall go get this series cause you’re totally missing out !!! Can’t wait for the next book!!!

I'm reviewing this as part of a tour with Hygge Book Tours.

This is the second book in the Lovewade Tale series, and it seems to pick up where the first book left off. So if you haven't read the first book, jumping in here would be like reading half of a story.

I remember that the first book was an emotional ride, and this sequel felt the same. I found that I was always wondering what might be in store next, for both Amber and some of the other characters. At times, I think I felt a little bit conflicted about what I wanted to happen, but that made me feel more invested in the story.

If you connected with these characters the first time round, this sequel will set your heart fluttering.

Book one was a roller coaster read and left us on a cliffhanger so I was looking forward to see where book 2 would take us.

I had hoped that things would settle down for Amber and her son but unfortunately life was still very challenging.

This is a book where I have disliked most of the main characters, Amber included. I wanted to feel sorry for her but her questionable decision making had me shaking my head. I disliked her indecision and treatment of James and Rian.

The book spans a few years but like the first book I'm still unsure of the time frame with regard to her son's age.

Another fast paced book, which is easy to read in one sitting. Action packed with another cliffhanger. What will happen next for Amber, I wonder!

Amber’s story honestly pulled at my heartstrings. She’s a single mum juggling everything, done with fairy tales after her heart was broken,until Rian walks in and makes her dare to hope again. It’s beautiful seeing her learn she deserves to be cherished, not just used.

But it’s not just the typical sweet romance,there’s family drama, wealth, power, and people determined to tear them apart. It shows how scary it is to trust again, and how brave you have to be to love someone when the whole world is against you.

It broke my heart and put it back together again. About second chances, knowing your worth, and fighting for the love that actually sees you. Highly recommend if you love heartfelt stories with real emotion and plenty of drama!

The best way I can describe this book is that it is an absolute whirlwind romance! I was so absorbed in this one and could not put it down.

I read Selecting the Wrong Love earlier this year I was so excited to dive back into Amber's life and to dive straight back in to see how things played out between Amber and Rian.

The relationship that grew between the two took its time but it was beautiful getting to watch it unfold, Rian is so sweet and caring towards Amber and her son.

The ended had me absolutely shocked and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

If you want a quick and easy read then look no further.

Amber is caught up in a love triangle, she had been single for a while then suddenly everyone is interested in her, based on her past she finds it hard to give into love, and besides she has a child to take care of. Will she find time for a relationship?
This book was simple amazing to say the least. I was drawn in quite quickly and the story itself was very good.
I really couldn’t put this book down, for some reason from the name I thought it was a self help book, but turns out a very interesting romance story was waiting.

I read this book twice!! It was a page turner with a cliffhanger that has me desperately waiting now for the 3rd part to come out!! It definitely can be read as a stand alone but I read the 1st one just to get the backstories on the characters. Amber finally gets the love and family she wanted after picking up the pieces of her life twice. Just when everything is going well, her "mother-in-law" made a huge mistake and definitely did not get what she wanted out of the situation. Levi and James both finally left her alone...just for her to end up alone. The cliffhanger is killing me!!! Lol!!

Selecting My Soulmate is a great sequel to Selecting the Wrong Love, and while you can read this as a standalone, reading the first book will help with some of the backstory. While there were a couple things that felt off to me, and I was amazed by the toxic behavior by all the characters, the story was very good. And that ending! Whew! That was definitely unexpected and leaves you wanting book 3. This is a 4 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me!

I didn't like Levi at all. I read this book as part of a readalong. I loved the writing style and the story. This ends on another cliffhanger. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

This book in the series follows Amber as she has to make a decision between three men but does she make the right choice?

Much like book one we are also left on quite the cliffhanger at the end of book two. I cannot wait until book three is released to find out what happens next.

This is the second book in the Lovewade series and I enjoyed this one. It kept me engaged and wanted to know more. What will Amber do? And why has she done that! Was an easy read and was also easy to follow. Book 1 ended in a big cliffhanger and kept us wanting more in what would happen and this was the exact same, where’s book 3 already? Haha. Can we just appreciate how lovely the front cover is!🥰 just as lovely as the first.
This is a short read (same as the first 1) and one that will keep you engaged, hooked and wanting to know more. I read this book in one sitting, couldn’t help it as it was that brilliant. Cannot wait for book 3 to see what is next for Amber.

Wow, what a whirlwind of a read. So much happened and so much time passed in such a short book. The first book in the series played out in a similar way and by the end I was floored by everything Amber had been through. Selecting the Wrong Love ended with a lot unanswered and undecided. I have been waiting to find out what would be next for Amber and her son.

I couldn’t help but just read this novella in one sitting. The pace is so fast, the time moves along quickly in the story and there is so much drama. I just kept reading and reading. I went through so many emotions. As for the ending - shocking, unexpected and has yet again left me asking questions. What’s next for Amber?
