4🌟, 3🌶️
This book reminded me why I love a slow-burn romance with plenty of banter.
Blair and Presley had the kind of chemistry that kept me turning the pages, and I loved watching all that tension slowly grow into something more. Once the story found its footing, I was completely invested in them.
The first half was a little slower than I expected, and some of the back-and-forth felt repetitive. But the emotional payoff made the wait worthwhile. The conflict felt natural, the romance became much stronger as it unfolded, and Presley really won me over by the end.
The friendships and found family brought so much warmth to the story and made it feel like coming back to familiar faces. While it didn’t quite reach its full potential for me, it was still a heartfelt, entertaining romance with plenty of charm.
This was a sweet, heartfelt romance that left me excited to see what’s next in the series.

Highball Honeybee was a hilarious, fast moving, tension filled read that I ate up 💛 The banter and tense moments between Blair and Presley were both funny and heated, and I thought they made the perfect match! Everything flows at a good, natural pace, and I really enjoyed the added drama from the love triangle 🤭 The side characters were also amazing and so likable! They fit into the story easily and played a part that was entertaining and gave the story more layers!
Blair is strong, confident and bold, and I absolutely loved her personality 🤍 I appreciated that she thinks things through instead of making rash decisions or rushing into something. Her and Margot had such a great relationship, Sasha too!!, and I liked their friendship a lot 😌 As Margot clearly sees and pointed out, Blair has an undeniable attraction towards Presley, though she is still struggling with the past and her feelings towards Cash now that he’s back. She took her time to work through her feelings however, which really showed her emotional maturity. She and Presley had hilarious banter and also spicy and tense moments too, and I loved that she would go toe to toe with him 💛 With her fiery personality and his icy one, they bounced off each other perfectly, making for plenty of amusing, heated conversations… and a few other moments too. 😉
Presley is all dark, broody, and cold, but underneath that icy exterior, he has a sensitive and very vulnerable side to him 🤍 He has his own struggles that he’s working through, and I enjoyed seeing his character develop and grow a lot! His brothers Raif, Luca, and Brody had me cracking up, I LOVED their group chats 😂 Aside from the jokes and teasing though, you can really see the underlying bond and care they have for each other, giving pushes when needed. Like when Presley keeps trying to fight the pull towards Blair! Him and Blair had a clear spark, it wasn’t just from their easy conversations that were mostly all feisty 😏 One of the things that Presley’s going through is somewhat similar to one of Blair’s, and though he made me mad with how he had originally reacted to finding out some hidden details, he really redeemed himself in the end and showed the true kind of man he is 💛
This was a funny, spicy, and interesting read 🤍 The plot moved at a good pace that kept me invested, Presley and Blair’s banter was hilarious, and the love triangle pulled me in too! Margot, Sasha, Sean, Raif, Luca, and Brody all added so much to the story, and I really loved all of them and the parts they played 💛 Presley and Blair are like wildfire together, constantly sparking off one another in ways that had me laughing, and all of that tension is absolutely worth the wait!

I have been waiting for Presley and Blair’s story ever since Tequila Songbird, and it was everything I hoped it would be. The tension between these two had me hooked from the very first page, and once they finally got their chance, I couldn’t put it down.
The banter was top tier, the emotions hit at all the right moments, and I loved seeing their relationship grow from friendship into something so much more. Presley and Blair were the perfect mix of sweet, frustrating, and completely meant to be.
From the start, you just knew Presley was always going to be her person. Watching their journey unfold made it impossible not to root for them, and I loved seeing them finally get their happily ever after.
The found family aspect added so much heart to the story, and getting to revisit these characters felt like coming home. This was a fantastic addition to the series, and I really can’t wait to see where Book 3 goes.

This is the second book in this series, and this is Blair and Presley’s story.
Blair has put love on the back burner, and is now career driven, while Presley is her hot billionaire boss and CEO. Presley pushes Blair harder than anyone else has ever done, and they compliment each other perfectly, When Blair’s first love returns, how will she cope with choosing between the two men?
This is a well written easy to read story, with found family, friendships, emotions, tension, drama, forced proximity, workplace romance, secrets, making choices, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and loath to love, which leads to an entertaining page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Here's the thing about this book. For the first half, I kept waiting for it to grab me. Blair and Presley poke at each other constantly, and I love a good banter setup, but the back-and-forth started circling the same block. Same energy, same standoff, slightly different room. I wanted it to move.
Then it moved.
Around the halfway mark, something shifts between them and the whole book wakes up. The tension stops being a loop and starts being a story. And once it took off, I was in.
Presley spent most of the early book getting on my last nerve. I'll be honest about that. But here's why it works: he annoyed me because I was invested, not because the writing failed. That's the difference. A flat character bores you. Presley pissed me off. I was passionate about him being insufferable, which is its own kind of compliment to how he's written. He's maddening in the way you can't stop thinking about.
The third-act breakup actually earned itself, which almost never happens. I usually hate that beat. It's normally built on a misunderstanding or some flimsy reason two adults could clear up in one conversation. This one made sense for who these people are. It came from their actual flaws, not a plot contrivance. I respected it.
And the ending. He pulls off a gesture that flips me right back to his side, going out of his way to do better for her in a way that felt a little out of character but in the best possible direction. He was trying. Really trying. That earned the warmth.
The one-liners are the beating heart of this book. The sarcasm, the pushback, the two of them refusing to let each other win a single exchange. That banter is where Mia Rhiannon is strongest.
"Remind me to schedule your burnout." "Sure. Right after your personality transplant. Don't want the appointments to overlap."
And it's not all sharp edges. The sting comes with sweetness too.
"You're so sweet on the surface, but your sting? That's the kind of pain I crave."
I have an embarrassing number of these saved. The whole book sings when they're sparring and melts when they're not.
So why four stars when the first half dragged? Because the back half, the valid breakup, the one-liners, and that finale carried enough weight to outrun the slow start. The repetition is real and it's the reason this isn't a five. But the payoff landed, and I closed it grinning.
Sounds like: Honeybee by Olivia Rodrigo, for the sweet-but-stinging title energy, and Bad for Business by Sabrina Carpenter, because that's Blair and Presley in a song. The whole "you're terrible for me and I want you anyway" of it.

Originally, I thought this would be a cute romance book. What I didn't expect was how easy it would be to settle into. This isn't the book that's going to emotionally destroy you. It's not the book that's going to keep you up until 3 AM questioning your life choices.
The writing was punchy, the characters were genuinely likable, and the relationship felt balanced in a way that made me want to keep turning pages.
Would I have liked a little more spice?
Sure. But for this story, the romance carried the weight.
If you're looking for a book that feels like curling up with a warm drink and spending a few hours with characters you'll genuinely enjoy, this one is worth your time. I had the please of also ARC-reading Tequila Songbird and watching the tension between Presley and Blair start.
I rated this book a three for spice, a four for fluff and a three star humour rating, watching the boys relentlessly tease Presley while he is falling for Blair.
I adore reading about strong women, and Blair is the epitome of one. She is known as incredibly smart and fierce, which both compliments and fights against Presley's own strength and stubbornness.

Love!!! Blair definitely reminds me of myself a bit. She's so strong and confident, but hiding some secrets. I wish I had the men trouble though. I loved learning more about her and seeing the different dynamics happen. I love the girl group and how they support each other. Presley definitely had me cackling a few times. Such a sweetly spicy story. It was a slow burn that def paid off.

I am so obsessed with this book! Blair is such a spicy girlie and I LOVE her. We also love a MMC who acts all professional, but really only wants her. The love triangle was a fun component to this story! It was a different trope than I've never read before, and it was executed amazingly. You feel the push and pull of Blair's feelings and it's fun watching her process and try to sort her feelings. Also, I'm so thankful for how it ended... we love adults actually being adults...

I spent so much of this book rooting for Blair and Presley. The chemistry kept me hooked it although there was a little too much will they wont they. I’m glad i persisted.
There were moments in this book that had me snort laughing and at one point i yelled yes so loud it woke my dogs. The more somber moments were so well written and help drive the story.
If you love a billionaire place romance, this book is for you

From the very first chapter, I was hooked on Blair's story. What started as a workplace romance quickly became so much more. This book delivered laughter, heart, friendship, emotional growth, and a romance that kept me turning pages long past my bedtime.
Blair was such a fantastic heroine. Ambitious, driven, and determined to prove herself, she was easy to root for from the very beginning. Beneath her confidence, though, was a woman carrying old wounds and trying to figure out what she truly wanted from life and love. Her journey felt authentic, and I found myself completely invested in every choice she made.
And then there was Presley King.
Goodness.
This man was impossible to resist.
On the surface, Presley appears cold, polished, and completely focused on business. But underneath that billionaire CEO exterior was a man with his own vulnerabilities, fears, and emotional baggage. The tension between him and Blair was absolutely addictive. Their workplace banter, constant push and pull, and undeniable chemistry had me completely invested.
What I loved most about this story was that it wasn't simply about choosing between two men. The return of Blair's first love added emotional depth and complexity to her journey. Every relationship in this story served a purpose, helping Blair discover who she was, what she deserved, and what kind of love truly felt like home. The love triangle never felt forced or unnecessary. Instead, it became an important part of Blair's growth and made me even more invested in how everything would unfold.
One of my favorite aspects of the book was the constant nods to the 90s. As a fellow 90s girl, every playlist reference, music mention, and nostalgic callback felt like a little gift. It added so much personality to the story and made Blair's character feel even more relatable.
Mia Rhiannon did an incredible job balancing humor, emotion, friendship, and romance. The dialogue was witty, the chemistry was electric, and the emotional moments hit exactly where they needed to. I laughed, swooned, and found myself completely immersed in Blair and Presley's world.

I had to take a few days to write this review. It’s important to me to leave honest reviews but I also highly respect authors and what they do so I never want to come across in a way that I’m berating or talking bad about an author or their art.
This book has a good storyline and I absolutely enjoyed most of the characters in it! I am INVESTED in their side friends/side characters, in the businesses that are in the book and in our delicious MMC, Presley. Presley is oh so dreamy despite his apparent grumpiness and stoic behavior.
The FMC Blair and Presley have some things in common and seem to ignite right from their terribly embarrassing meet cute to their passion finally coming to a head. They argue and push each other, neither one backing down, both being stubborn and set in their ways but that’s what makes them so steamy.
Over our time with them, Cash, a man from Blair’s past comes back to town and has his sights set on reuniting with Blair and it’s clear he will stop at nothing to achieve his end goal. He’s unbelievably sweet, attentive, and still wildly in love with her.
So the leaves Blair torn between these 2 men. Her comfortable love from her past or her fiery passionate present. In this process is where I started having a really hard time with her. This is just my personal opinion but I feel like she gets in her own way a lot. I feel like she causes issues but then gets mad at the men, particularly Presley, for situations she created being stubborn or overly mean for no reason. Presley is often apologizing to her for these things and I couldn’t really figure out why? I’m not saying he’s perfect or never does anything that is frustrating or annoying but her level of anger and hurt towards him is a bit perplexing. This book is written in duet format and I found myself having to step away from the book during her chapters and take a break because she was literally giving me anxiety.
While I did enjoy parts of the book, it’s not for me overall. I want to read more of the other books because I enjoyed the other characters so much however! I would definitely suggest trying it out for yourself because there were still positives in it and I think that alone is enjoyable!

This was such a fun and enjoyable read that I found myself smiling through large portions of the book. The characters felt vibrant, the banter was entertaining, and the romance kept me invested from beginning to end.
Blair was easily one of my favourite parts of the story. She is unapologetically herself, whether that means dressing how she wants, embracing her love of 90s music, or refusing to let other people's opinions dictate how she lives her life. What I appreciated most about her, however, was her determination to build her own identity. Despite coming from a well-known family, she actively avoids relying on her family name and wants to earn her successes on her own merits. That made her feel both relatable and admirable.
Presley was an equally compelling character. In many ways, he felt like Blair's counterpart. He is ambitious, career-driven, and fiercely determined to prove that everything he has achieved came from his own hard work. Having been hurt by ambitious women in the past, he carries a lot of assumptions that sometimes colour how he views other women, including Blair. While that aspect of his character could be frustrating at times, it also made him feel realistic and gave him room to grow throughout the story.
The chemistry between Blair and Presley was one of the book's strongest elements. Their witty banter made every interaction entertaining, and I loved watching them challenge each other while gradually building a deeper connection. The dialogue felt natural and engaging, which made the romance even more enjoyable to follow.
My only real criticisms were that the first half of the book felt a little slow in places, and I grew somewhat frustrated with how long Blair went back and forth between two men. At times it felt like that particular storyline dragged on longer than necessary, especially when I was eager to see where the main romance would ultimately lead.
Even with those minor frustrations, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters, humour, romance, and emotional growth made it a memorable read, and by the end I was completely won over by Blair, Presley, and their story.

I liked this book. It is quite refreshing.
The book starts with a promising and funny scene where Blair kind of has a wardrobe malfunction in front of her billionaire CEO boss and after that their banter begins.
The plot revolves around Presley King is a grumpy, broody, billionaire running a PR company and sunshiney, bubbly Blair Kennedy who is working for him. Presley does everything in his power to resist the urge of saying "fuck it" and ask Blair out as he has been in an awe from the first time he's laid his eyes on her. Their banter during this time is something that's unmissable. But by the time Presley realises his feelings are more than just lust and he couldn't resist it anymore, Blair is torn between welcoming her ex back into her life or giving someone new a chance. Her ex brings comfort and that familiar ease to the table but her boss brings fire, and red, burning hot passion. But before she could figure it out the truth about her real identity is revealed and that brings an earthquake into Blair and Presley's lives.
So there goes this book's plot. Now the review.
The moment both Blair and Presley finally decided to go after whatever's been brewing underneath their skin the sparks fly everywhere around in the book.
The yearning is there in the every chapter written from Presley's pov.
The heat, passion and spice is all there.
But for me the book did have one problem. I could understand the reasoning behind Presley's emotional turmoil but not Blair's. You either want to get back to someone or not. Her constantly letting her ex sway her decision is what I didn't like. But still the turmoil is beautifully written for both the MCs.
And one other thing. The whole Blair and Presley's relationship felt like it was based on lust more than love. Similar with Cash and Blair but at least their chemistry made more sense.
Except for that the book didn't have many big hiccups. I also loved all the side characters. They are the true beauty of the story.

The first part of the book has a slower pace, but once it picks up... it's sooo worth it! And that grand gesture? I'm saying nothing. Just... oh.my.gooood! It completely swept me away.

The only thing keeping this from being a full 5-star read is just how deeply frustrating the characters could be at times. Presley is complicated, and I sort of wanted to slap him a few times—but then again... I kind of wanted to slap her too! Blair faces a moment where she has to choose between someone else and Presley, and I was just thinking: Choose between who and Presley? No girl. There's no choosing possible. Ever. It's always Presley, even if he's a bit confusing at times! Their mutual stubbornness occasionally made the journey feel a little dizzying

I was sooooo excited for Presley and Blair's love story as soon as I finished Midnight Margarita but nothing prepared me for just how much I was going to love this story.
As a girly who grew up in the 90s and 2000s the music alone made me feel so nostalgic and I love how the music entwined within the entire story.
Blair has to be one the fiercest, strongest FMC's I have read to date and she is determined to make her way into the corporate world without ties to her family. I loved how you could tell that she puts 100% into everything she does. The only thorn in her side is Presley King. The man frustrates her but at the same time he lights a fire inside her she hasn't felt before.
However what she doesn't expect is her ex Cash showing up and suddenly she is torn between the safe comfortable love or the big fiery love.
Presley King - OMG THIS MAN!!! I loved him so much! He is literally kindred spirits with Blair in that he wants to also make a name for himself earning all his goals and ambitions on his own merit rather than his last name being a driving force. When he meets Blair, he is shocked because finally he meets someone who doesn't just cave at his every whim. She is strong and I loved how she stood up for herself.
When they meet for the first time I DIED!! I loved everything about it!!!! You will have to read to find out more hehe
The push and pull between them kept me hooked as I was invested in finding out who Blair ends up with.
The NICKNAME ! OH MY WORD! I love Honeybee soooooo much and its perfect for Blair.
As always Mia wrote the best banter, not just between Presley and Blair but also between their friendship groups. One thing you can guarantee with a Mia Rhiannon book is that you will laugh so much.
The spice was well balanced to add to Presley and Blair's emotional connection. I will never look at Hennessy the same again *BLUSHING*
I adored those last few chapters when everything comes to a head and Blair will have to choose between Cash and Presley. I loveeeeed that cinematic feel to the ending and have to admit I cried like a baby in parts.
Overall, I loved this book so much and I cannot wait for Margot's book!

Blair has to be one the fiercest, strongest FMC's I have read to date and she is determined to make her way into the corporate world without ties to her family. I loved how you could tell that she puts 100% into everything she does. The only thorn in her side is Presley King. The man frustrates her but at the same time he lights a fire inside her she hasn't felt before.
However what she doesn't expect is her ex Cash showing up and suddenly she is torn between the safe comfortable love or the big fiery love.
Presley King - OMG THIS MAN!!! I loved him so much! He is literally kindred spirits with Blair in that he wants to also make a name for himself earning all his goals and ambitions on his own merit rather than his last name being a driving force. When he meets Blair, he is shocked because finally he meets someone who doesn't just cave at his every whim. She is strong and I loved how she stood up for herself.
When they meet for the first time I DIED!! I loved everything about it!!!! You will have to read to find out more hehe
The push and pull between them kept me hooked as I was invested in finding out who Blair ends up with.
The NICKNAME ! OH MY WORD! I love Honeybee soooooo much and its perfect for Blair.
As always Mia wrote the best banter, not just between Presley and Blair but also between their friendship groups. One thing you can guarantee with a Mia Rhiannon book is that you will laugh so much.
The spice was well balanced to add to Presley and Blair's emotional connection. I will never look at Hennessy the same again *BLUSHING*
I adored those last few chapters when everything comes to a head and Blair will have to choose between Cash and Presley. I loveeeeed that cinematic feel to the ending and have to admit I cried like a baby in parts.
Overall, I loved this book so much and I cannot wait for Margot's book!

I loved the banter in this book!! The one liners and the jabs really earned Blair her nickname of Honeybee because she had a stinger!! So many 90s song references I almost had to dig out my disc-man but then I remembered I pay for Amazon Music so.
Blair is trying to g to make a name for herself trying to step out of her family fame and starts to work for Presley King (who Margot nicknamed Elvis which is hilarious). Presley King is a Music Exec trying the same thing except for the face he named his company King Media. 2 years worth of hate in this love/hate relationship which thankfully we don’t have to read too much of but I feel it was more angst than hate. Resulting in a heated fight ending with a hot makeout session on the hood of a Maserati.
I don’t mind a love triangle but this was more of an unnecessary love square Jagger wasn’t needed and half the time I forgot about him then he’d show back up and I’d be like .. Who? Or right. Then he was gone again. Cash to me was a walking red flag. First love who Blair compared every guy too but he broke up with her so he can go to Dubai for 5 years for work but told her she’s his endgame but this break up is for her. No it wasn’t you wanted to bang your way through the Middle East.
I’m usually not a fan of 3rd act break ups because I feel like many of them wouldn’t have happened if you just had 1 real conversation!! Like if you actually spoke your real feelings and not what you think the other person might be thinking then this never would have happened. But this wasn’t like that. It felt real. Real feeling. Real emotions. Real issues. And such a cute Real earn live back gesture.

I love a good workplace loathe to love romance with banter, especially when it’s a slow burn will they won’t they kind of bickering and tension. I will say that this book is a very slow burn and I wanted to smack some sense into the two of them many times, but I did overall enjoy the story. I was hooked in the beginning, then it got a little slower with some miscommunication and internal battles from both characters, but then the last 20% was great again and I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t get the opportunity to read the first book in the series yet, so I think I would have enjoyed this one more if I did, but I don’t think that made the story confusing or hard to understand.
I loved the 90s references throughout, especially Blair’s playlists and how her singing plays a pivotal role near the end. There were also some sweet and heartfelt moments that I loved that kept me invested in the story as well as some spicy moments when they finally get together.

I really need to remember that DNFing a book is always an option. I was excited to read this book based on the tropes: hate to love, workplace romance, but it fell flat for me. There wasn't enough chemistry/tension build up between Blair and Presley. Even Blair herself was calling him out during his love declaration saying, "Presley, there hasn't been an us. There was a night. A spicy moment on the hood of your car. Some stolen kisses in a room." I felt myself getting distracted while reading and wondering how much more I had left until I was done with the book.
This is book 2 in a series. I believe it was advertised as an interconnected standalone, but I would say book 1 is required. There were quite a number of characters to keep track of and their relationships with one another. Even finishing the book, I'm still unsure how all the characters know each other.
I personally dislike when authors use modern terms and the author used them quite a bit like "dick juju" and "BDE (big dick energy)". Also what type of name is Cash for a MMC?
I think as I've gotten older, I don't really care for love triangles. Blair did annoy me because what do you mean it's chapter 41 (out of 43) and you still aren't super sure which guy you want to be with? That for me came off as immature especially because I believe Blair is 30 in the book! This indecisiveness is more age appropriate for teenagers.
PS Because the series is called Cocktails and Dream, it would have been cute to have a cocktail recipe at the end!

I have to say that Blair took center stage in this story, because I, for one and in my own opinion, loved her. She was unapologetically herself, from the way she dresses and acts to her taste in music and her love for the 90s music. I genuinely saw myself in her in certain circumstances and I could understand her, what fuels her and what she believes in. Gotta love the fact that she wants to make her own way and to build her own identity, despite her well known family. She wants to work for her success on her own merits. She was admirable and relatable to so many of us because of it. She came from a rich family but she worked for her success like any other person that doesn't come from means.
Presley, oh God, the way I was down for him. He was truly Blair's half. He's ambitious, career driven and wants to show that everything he has came from hard work. So, Blair and Presley are essentially the same person, really. And because of that, their chemistry was off the charts. Their banter and their connection was everything. It made me kick my legs like a school girl with a crush.
So, I enjoyed this book. It was such a great read. From the story to their connection and banter, this book kept hooked on turning it page by page.

What can I say about Highball Honeybee or as I now like to call it Nostalgia Book?
If you’ve read Midnight Margarita then you know the need and expectation for Blair and Presley’s story. I am also a huge, huge fan and absolutely love Midnight Margarita (Voodoo Book forever has me under its magic), so like Ollivander in Harry Potter “.. we must expect great things..”
Mia’s response was like a mic drop moment because she didn’t just meet those expectations, she exceeds them and then some.
Highball Honeybee was an unexpected tribute to everything that made the 90s iconic: fierce girl power, swoony alpha men, and a story that unfolded like its own ballad. That story, that ballad?
