In the hidden world of Elmsvere, where immortal Halflings wield the elements alongside their Soul animals, fourteen-year-old Aideen Prince has everything - wealth, legendary parents, a palatial mansion - except the one thing every Halfling should powers.
No element. No Soul animal. Just a life of luxury and loneliness.
Tired of hiding, Aideen finally steps out of her gilded cage and enrols at Elementë Institute. But in a school ruled by water, air, earth, and deadly Fire, a powerless girl from the most famous family in Halfling history is either a princess… or a target.
Friendship, ancient secrets, and the sudden awakening of forbidden power await in this witty, enchanting fantasy adventure.

Rogue Blaze is written with a level of craft, voice, and emotional intelligence rarely found in a debut novel of any age. The prose is vivid and confident, rich with precise vocabulary, natural humour, and a narrative rhythm that feels effortlessly alive. This is not the work of AI or imitation - every word, every line, comes from a genuinely remarkable young writer written over a 9-month period. Early readers and reviewers have been stunned by the maturity of the storytelling and the originality of the voice, marking this author as an extraordinary emerging talent - she is only 11 years old.

Lois Turner began writing her first book, Rogue Blaze, in January 2025 at the age of ten, turning eleven just a month later. It was completed in August of the same year and she is currently working on the second book in the series. A passionate reader from an early age, she draws inspiration from authors such as J.K. Rowling and Rick Riordan, the humour of Jeremy Clarkson, and television shows like Friends. British, but born and raised in Italy, Lois is bilingual and loves vocabulary. When she isn't writing or reading, she loves playing the guitar, singing, and keeping fit.

The craft and emotional intelligence found in Lois’s debut novel have stunned early readers and reviewers alike. Written entirely over a nine-month period without the aid of AI or imitation, her prose is characterised by a vivid narrative rhythm and a sophisticated, original voice. At just 11 years old, Lois has established herself as a remarkable emerging talent in the fantasy genre, proving that the most compelling stories come from a genuine passion for the written word.

I loved this book, and can't believe the writer is only eleven!

While a few elements of the plot have the optimistic and slightly simplistic view of a child, the majority does not. On top of that, the world building is amazing, and the author's understanding of people and emotions is outstanding. Lois presents characters with depth and humour, and writes interactions between characters with more care than many adult authors.

I am hooked on the overarching plot she has clearly designed and looking forward to book two very much. There is clearly a lot more to come!

I read this book in only a few days. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Incredible imagination from this young author. Can't wait for book 2.

This is my book! I wrote it throughout 2025 completely on my own when I was 11 years old. I am currently writing Book 2 in the series. I hope you'll read it too and really enjoy it.
