Some books answer questions you didn't even know you needed to ask. Speak Easy by Seema Anand is one of them.
Growing up, I often found myself searching the internet for answers to questions about relationships, intimacy, and sexual well-being because they weren't topics people spoke about openly. Like many others, I hesitated to ask them aloud. This book felt like sitting down with a knowledgeable, non-judgmental friend who patiently addresses those questions with empathy, clarity, and honesty.
What I appreciated most was how approachable the writing is. Seema Anand creates a safe space to discuss subjects that are often surrounded by silence, myths, or embarrassment. Rather than treating sex as a taboo, she encourages readers to view it through the lens of understanding, respect, communication, and consent.
Several questions I had carried for years were answered while reading this book. More importantly, it reminded me that curiosity isn't something to be ashamed of. Asking questions and seeking reliable information is an essential part of understanding ourselves and building healthier relationships.
One of the book's strongest messages is the importance of comprehensive sex education. When accurate information is replaced by assumptions or misinformation, it often leads to confusion and unnecessary fear. Equally important is the emphasis on open communication. Honest conversations with our partners can strengthen trust, deepen understanding, and help us navigate relationships with greater confidence.
Speak Easy is informative without being overwhelming and educational without feeling like a lecture. I believe it's a valuable read for anyone looking to challenge misconceptions, learn from a trusted voice, and become more comfortable discussing topics that truly matter.

Every single person I know should read this book. A lot of sex positive or know-how guides are so focused on women and women’s pleasure (and yes this book DEFINITELY does that and I applaud) they often skip over the queer experience, and this book doesn’t. It includes perspectives for men, women, nonbinary, trans folks, and members of the LGBTQ community.
It feels like the Dear Sugar version of Sex Education. Everyone is getting a copy for Christmas.

I have seen Seema Anand on reels and quite loved her content. She is informative and talks sense. That is how I picked up this book. My mistake was not reading the content. The book is more about the se**al issues/ problems/ queries. So it might work for people who share the same issues, but it didn't work that much for me. Maybe I chose the wrong Seema Anand book.
