Everytime I think I have read it all this author releases something new. A new twist in her shared universe. The elaborate world building of these stories in next level.
But Drayton is wow! I think this is the first time I’ve read something with miscommunication in such a way that I loved it. Elec will forever a favorite of mine too! He really is a puppet master! But so is this author with her characters!
This story was brutal for Alaska and her steps into the dark. She didn’t just tiptoe in. She said “I’m coming in hot”. And I imagine AA Dark welcoming her with open arms!
Definitely one of my favorites in this universe. Filled in some holes from Garden of the Gods series too! And a special appearance of Anna and Boston is always welcome!

Not bad but not sure
First, I’ve read everything this author has written. To be that much of a dedicated reader, I can promise it was for the talent, the entertainment, and unique writing style and content. Pushing the boundaries requires courage. She does this. Now to the not sure part of this review. There were awkward sentences and even parts of the book seemed sophomoric. I felt at times two or more different people wrote this book. There were hard to follow sentences. There was misuse of words. There were sudden changes that weren’t explained and didn’t quite fit with the storyline. In short, I guess it’s self editing or poor editing. I was disappointed. The author is still one of my favorites. However, if we keep seeing final publications like this I’m not sure how much longer that will be the case.

Alaska Angelini’s first book under her 3 Tiers of Darkness, and if you’re looking for a “dark romance,” you need to turn around now.
She didn’t tiptoe into horror erotica. She fucking swan-dived.
For anyone new to the In Another Life universe, this series plays with split paths and fractured outcomes. She plays with dual versions of the same story: one under Alaska Angelini, one under A.A. Dark. They begin the and after a few chapters they branch into entirely different narratives. Same characters. Same origin. Radically different realities. This time, though, there is no softer path. This Alaska Angelini version is straight-up horror erotica, full stop.
Marian and Drayton are what insta-love dreams are made of, except Alaska Angelini chose to write this at a STATIC WHITE level, and that means no mercy. Drayton’s life is obliterated by the woman he loves when Marian tells a lie so devastating it doesn’t just destroy him, but stains his entire family’s name.
As punishment, Drayton is essentially banished and reborn as The Devil of Hollywood. What follows is a decade of obsession, stalking, festering rage, and a love–hate fixation that never loosens its grip.
When fate (and manipulation) force Marian into marriage with Drayton, revenge finally has teeth. Their love mutates into something deeply toxic. Drayton does not disappoint when it comes to obsession and fury, and Marian is made to pay in ways that push devotion into brutality.
If you’re looking for love, you might find something that resembles it here, but it’s drenched in manipulation, lies, obsession, revenge, hatred, and outright gore. This is not soft. This is not safe. Alaska Angelini held nothing back.

This is the lighter version of this story. Written under Alaska Angelini this name is usually tied to a much more lighter version than her A.A Dark pen name.
That being said please check the trigger warnings in this book as Alaska Angelini has written a very dark book.
Drayton and Marion meet at the college her mother is a professor. It’s a happenstance meeting when she comes to the college and bumps into Drayton and his best friend Elec.
Oh mommy dearest does NOT want the two together. Things will happen. Betrayals are made and hearts are broken beyond repair or somewhat.
This is a fantastically written book and I can be read as a stand alone. This is Alaska’s 2 book in the “In Another Life” series. Both books A.A. Dark and Alaska Angelini starts off the exact same in the first 8 chapters, but will spilt “into another life” and things will drastically be changed.
The players are the same, but the story ends differently. I am imploring you to read Alaska Angelini’s first and if you want the darker version go on to A.A. Dark’s.
My dark romance girls and even my er@tica horror girlies will love either story if not both depending on how dark you like it.
There is graphic scenes in both books and proceed with that in mind.

Devil of Hollywood Review
Another amazing book by Alaska Angelini. Drayton falls hard for Marian but Marian’s mother isn’t having it. Secrets and years later bring Marian and Drayton face to face. Stripped of his family honor The Devil of Hollywood is out for revenge. I absolutely loved the twists, turns and madness of this book but then again I would expect nothing less from Alaska. Fantastic!

Wow I was surprised at the level of darkness that was delivered in this book and I absolutely loved it. To say that Alaska has delivered a great dark romance story is an understatement. The characters are great to read. This would be a fantastic entry level into the darkness of her other books A.A. Dark.

Absolutely amazing. Love this darker Alaska Angelini side. Makes me more excited for the AA Dark version! Top tier as always! Alaska really took this one to a new level and it’s still a masterpiece.
