His Loving Prisoner

Alexei and Anya can no longer revisit their attraction to each other but all he knows is possession and control. His dark and distorted view on romance becomes suffocating and toxic. While this story was intense and full of mixed emotion, the development of the plot was intriguing. There are definitely triggers that should be taken into consideration before reading but it was great to see the outcome at the end.

This book by Alexis is without a doubt your next must-read mafia romance book that will make you take deep breaths at times. I found that Alexei and Anya to be intriguing characters in this perfectly written book. So, I don't know what your plans are for the day or weekend, but this book needs to be a huge part of it or you're missing out.

Great storyline, but sometimes I struggled with the characters. I couldn't really stand him, and with her, I sometimes thought, "Come on, now!" But it did have something to offer.

What is it about age gap romances with billionaire Russian Mafia bosses that draws me in like a moth to a flame? I don't know if I want to know the answer. I loved chemistry between Anya and Alexei. I loved the pure wickedness of being owned by a handsome older man. I think that Alexis answered all the required elements of her chosen genre and gave her readers something truly entertaining.

So this was a difficult one to review, I didn't love the book, but didn't hate it completely. She drove me nuts, she hated him but still enjoyed sex with him, even after how he treated her.
He was a pig, and that's being polite. The action at the end was the only part of the book that I actually enjoyed.
