Saving Charlotte

Rate this book
Numb from her husband’s death, Charlotte Montgomery feels only an odd sense of resignation when she is held hostage by a drug dealing biker gang. But when the life of her friend is threatened, she’ll do whatever it takes to save him. Even if it means playing a dangerous game with the rough and sexy gang member, Ren.

Author’s Note: This book contains explicit and steamy sex scenes that may not be your cup of tea. It is intended for mature readers only.

Wow! EK did not waste ANY time getting these pages hot and STICKY. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with the originality, hotness, characters and story-line! So why not 5 stars?? Well, let me start at the beginning.
These two meet in a CRAZY way..a dangerous, crazy way. Two people "forced" together to save not only other people, but each other.
When these two meet again, the strange, crazy, "must be something wrong with me" lust is still there.
Then, when danger comes a'callin - these two are forced to run together.
Let's stop here.
Up until this point, I was engrossed. I couldn't put it down. I was in Lala Land.
Then, after somethings happened and the book started to "unwind" a little giving these two some breathing room, the heroine really started getting on my nerves. I hated that she was! I tried to see every angle she was coming from to give her a chance in my head - and I couldn't! I wanted to slap her, shake her - hell I wanted to jump in there and steal her man!
So eventually, after a couple other major events, she came around. But IMO, it wasn't good enough and by the end of the book, I still didn't like her.
She wasn't a door mat - far from it, she just was one of those people that continuously questioned everything so much that she mutilated an already dead horse. I mean enough was enough. I get that she had been through a lot. Her responses to a lot of the situations she was put in showed her guts, her independence and character.
But again, it was her constant questioning of every situation. It didn't matter if it was life or death - she did what ever SHE wanted and worried about it later.
Oh well.
Still though, a FANTASTIC book. This is only my 2nd or 3rd Elizabeth Kelly and I have to say, I'm going EK stalking to read more - she's fantastic. Definitely a go to author for me.
H was Alpha and in charge. Rough, tatted - but a teddy for the h.

I can't get enough of Elizabeth Kelly books

This book sucks you in from the beginning and you don't want to put it down, I find that true with all of her books, I just loved Ren, he was patient, sexy, strong and how could you not fall in love with him, I understood Charlotte's hang ups about being confused at first and her feelings for another man so soon after she lost her husband, and Ren patience made me love him even more, Can't wait for the next Elizabeth Kelly book!!

3.5 The Subject of His Fantasies Stars ⭐

It's been years since I've read an Elizabeth Kelly book, but back in the day she was my Kristen Ashley equivalent. High steam, Alpha Heroes, strong women who enjoy dirty sex with a twist of suspense. Plus she writes Instalove that I actually enjoy.

“Do you know what I wish? I wish that I could, just once, keep my clothes on when I’m around you. Does that seem like too much to ask? I don’t think it is. Do you think it is?”

In a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Charlotte is caught in the crossfire of an MC showdown. But it's a little worse, because she's forced to have sex with an MC member Ren. Terrible since she really enjoyed it!

Don't get me wrong, you recognize the twist immediately but who cares? She's just banged a gang member and she might get a repeat?!! I loved the cheesiness and the naughtiness of it all. Now I want to binge read all these books now...

Sometimes I randomly choose books without even reading the blurb. Kind of fun just by judging the cover. Most of the time those do not go after my taste. But once in a blue moon I become lucky and find a treasure ❤️❤️❤️

This book was randomly chosen. And it was okay with a lot of ehhs and uuhs and eye rolling.

Do you want to read a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat but at the same time stays hot? Well, this is the one! I have been waiting to read Charlotte's story for almost a year, and it was so worth the wait! The conflicts are real, the characters are flawed just enough to be plausible without being contrived, and there is some smoking hot love too! This story felt so real to me. Elizabeth Kelly captured the feelings, the lack of feelings, the guilt and the confusion faced by a grieving widow so well that I need to thank her. Being a widow myself, it was a sort of affirmation that maybe I am kind of normal after all. Always a bonus!
There are plenty of hot scenes between Charlotte and Ren, but that is just the frosting. This story itself with the violence, the angst, the broken people, has all of the elements of a truly great story. I think of it like this; the story is the cake and the hotness is the frosting. You know an author has a really good thing going when you can eat the cake even without the frosting. Because seriously, this cake was so good that even if you scraped off all of the frosting, it is still amazingly addictive,... although the frosting was a whole other level of sweet, hot, steaminess. Dude, it was definitely worth the wait! What are you waiting for? Buy this book! Eat the cake!

I love Elizabeth Kelly, and I read the preview for this in another of her books. I could not wait to get my hands on this read! Though I really liked Ren and other supporting characters, I just didn't care for Charlotte. After my first read I was disappointed, but I picked it up again and re-read about a month later and I still didn't like Charlotte. I just could not relate to her way of thinking. I still enjoyed Ren and most of the story. Elizabeth Kelly is an auto buy for me.

This was my third book by Elizabeth Kelly and I am very disappointed because her books are way too similar. I expected more creativity from an author.
